This is an ongoing issue regarding this vehicle's steering where it can become very hard to turn the steering wheel when going highway speeds. I tried calling a dealer and corporate, and they both told me that parts are not available and I have to wait.

The steering on this vehicle began feeling sticky intermittently, not every trip starting 7/31/2024. Since then it has become more and more of an issue. The sticky steering is most noticeable on the interstate when trying to recenter the steering wheel after going around a curve. More so when straightening from a left turn. I had researched, just after leasing the vehicle, and saw this was an issue on 2023 models. Nothing has happened until about 10,000 miles on my odometer. It has become prevalent during every trip taken now, including on secondary roads at lower rates of speed. A service appointment was scheduled with my dealer, a couple of days prior to the recall. I was advised to bring it in, as the recall had not been announced at that time. When I took it in on 10/15/2024, the dealer shared there was nothing they could do at this point, didn’t even inspect it or look at it, as it is too early in the recall and they had not been told how to fix it. They also shared it could be months before something could be done. I am writing to document this issue, should there be an incident, and share that it is a little unnerving to drive a vehicle that could potentially cause an accident and have a dealership say there is nothing they can do and that I should continue driving the vehicle… No lights, warnings, etc have come on in association with this issue.

The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 3,500.

Sticky steering, when trying to make small adjustments the steering wheel feels locked and takes more of a rotation to get it “unstuck”. This causes me to look like I’m swerving almost just trying to make a small adjustment to the steering wheel.

The steering wheel locks momentarily at cruising speed of 35-45 MPH. This results in the need of over or under compensating the steering with extra effort. The steering is generally locked in the same position and it also frequently moves the direction of the vehicle to the point that I fear this is a severe safety issue.

The contact owns a 2024 Acura Integra. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel had to be overcorrected. There was an abnormal thumping noise detected. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the steering column needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts being on backorder. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000. The VIN was not available.

After driving on longer drives the steering becomes "sticky" off center. Looses its smoothness of operation. Usually does not occur on shorter drives, but, the longer you drive the more prevalent the problem becomes. This is my wife's car and I had not driven it for a while, as I was driving it the problem manifested itself. As soon as I said something to my wife, she said she had noticed it as well. Upon a suggestion from a auto tech friend I turned off all the electronic nannies, but, the problem is still there.

Steering doesn’t want to turn occasionally and additional effort is required to turn the steering wheel, followed by sudden minimal effort. Had this issue since beginning. I thought lkas was correcting the car to go straight. But that is not the case

My car only has 3725 miles. In some occasions, after a while of driving at highway speeds, steering requires a noticeable increase in the amount of force needed to turn the wheel for small corrections or turning. It feels like the wheel is stuck. After turning the wheel a couple of times, like when you take an exit to get off the highway, the steering wheel starts behaving normally and smoothness returns.

YES, DEALER CONFIRMED ON 3/8/2024. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? ISSUE WAS REPRODUCED AND ACKNOWLEDGED BY THE DEALER BUT THE ACTUAL STEERING WAS NOT INSPECTED TO MY KNOWLEDGE. THEY INDICATE THAT ACURA IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT HAS NOT ISSUED ANY DIRECTION EVEN THOUGH THE WELL KNOWN FIX IS REPLACEMENT OF THE STEERING RACK. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? NO

Steering sticks. Steering sticks every time vehicle is driven more than 15-20 minutes at highway speeds with and without lane keeping assistance on. Very uneasy feeling driving this vehicle. First noticed problem the day after I purchased this certified preowned dealer loaner Acura Integra A Spek vehicle with 4000 miles on Jan 3, 2024. Reported problem to Acura Dealership where I purchased vehicle on February 8, 2024. Awaiting guidance from dealership and Acura representative.

The steering wheel sticks and/or takes more effort to turn when traveling >30MPH. The steering wheel does not return to center on its own at these speeds. When the steering wheel sticks during a turn (as if it were in a notch) it takes more effort to get the wheel out of the notch and I have over corrected in a turn multiple times because of the extra force needed to turn the wheel. Symptoms started around 3500 miles, 3 months into ownership. Issue is inconsistent, not easily replicated except under precise driving conditions. at speeds <30 MPH, the issue is rarely present.

car has 5700 miles and intermittently experience the steering getting stuck in a position until i give it a little tug to break it free. Happens more frequently after taking a long wide turn and trying to straighten the wheel after.

I've been having issues with the steering on my 2024 Acura Integra. It has roughly 8k miles on the odometer. There is an intermittent issue where it feels like my steering gets hung up/takes more effort to make a turn. When the issue recurs on certain drives, but doesn't occur at all on other drives. I've noticed the issue most frequently when traveling on the highway. The issue feels similar to fighting against the lane keeping system, but there are no warning lights and I'm not close to leaving my lane. I've had the issue occur when the lane-keep system is off and cruise control is off so I don't think it is occurring due to the safety systems. I see an open investigation into this issue and a technical service bulletin was released for the Honda Civic SI(same car mechanically). I've informed my Acura dealer, Pohanka Acura in Chantilly, VA. They brushed off the technical service bulletin because its from Honda, not Acura. They're essentially the same car...

At under 3k miles I am experiencing something called “sticky steering.” The steering wheel will get stuck and I would need to use more force to turn the wheel. For example When making turns, the wheel should return back to its normal position when you let go of it. However, with the sticky steering issue, it does not and I would need to forcefully straighten out the wheel. This occurs at both low and high speeds and seems to be more prevalent in colder weather. A quick Google search seems to show a common issue with this generation Acura Integras and Honda Civics.

My 2024 Acura Integra is exhibiting the sticky steering wheel event that the Honda Civics are experiencing (EA23003 and PE23005). When driving at highways speeds the wheel becomes "stuck" in one position. When you go to make a small correction there is added resistance and when the wheel does move it moves abruptly due to the extra force required. This causes the wheel to move farther than needed / expected causing the car to abruptly at highway speeds. I've turned off the LKAS system and switched between all of the different steering "modes" to try and correct this. Found out that this is an issue with the Civics and now prevalent in the Integra. Very unsafe. I've also experienced it some on a curvy road which was quite disturbing.

The steering component has a defect to where when you’re driving and go to slightly turn the steering wheel it feels as if it “gets stuck” and then just gives. It is a safety issue because it causing you to steer harder and then when it gives you are pulling the steering wheel with a little more pressure you almost over correct. Could cause a wreck. It was inspected by dealership and there was no code and “drives how vehicle was intended by manufacturer” they were unable to re create it. I’ve been driving the car since September and just started having this issue 3 weeks ago around 7k miles. I’ve read other integras especially 23’ has had this issue. They won’t replace it until there is a recall for it.

The steering wheel is quite sticky when I'm driving and causes some safety concern as the effort to turn my car at high speed is affected. Need a resolution on this one quickly as during tight turn and high speeds this is a big safety issue.

Steering becomes “sticky” not centering in an unrestrained state resulting in excessive constant input required to center vehicle in otherwise straight line driving like it is contantly tracking off course and never in a neutral position. Problem persists even after a battery disconnect to reset electronics.

My Acura has around 3000 miles and for the last 1000 miles or more the steering seems to "stick" even when lane keep assist is off. I am able to move the steering wheel with some force but it often over corrects the problem. It happens at 25 MPH and over regardless of drive mode. In a quick internet search this seems to be an issue with both Acura Integra and Honda Civic. I first noticed it on the highway at 55+ MPH but am noticing it at lower speeds. This has happened multiple times not 1 incident.

Steering becomes sticky, making it difficult to turn the vehicle. It first occurred on the highway going 70 mph where it almost completely locked and caused the car to veer off road or into other vehicles. It now always takes more effort to turn the wheel and feels very unsafe. Acura has validated the problem, saying power steering rack is faulty, part #53620-3S5-A34. The part if on back order so it will be months until it is replaced. However the replacement is the exact same part that will very likely get the same problem.

Sticky power steering needed to make micro adjustments while driving on freeway or speed 40mph+. Sticky steering causes me to overcorrect, merging to other lane. An appointment is made for the dealer to check the vehicle on 01/20/2024 Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? NA Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, No illuminated warning lamps nor codes or messages. And when did they first appear? I noticed the issue started last November 2023 right around reaching 3500 miles. Below are what I observed that changed: Sticky steering observed while- - Sitting idle - Driving straight line on freeway or speed 40mph + - Driving on curvy road - Backing up or parking Other issues noticeable or changes in the car since I bought it: - Keep making micro adjustment on freeway speed - feels like power steering shuts off while on idle (auto stop disabled) - steering sometimes feel harder in any drive mode (sport, normal, and comfort - feels like there's a gap (lack of precise word) in steering I made observations with vehicle safety features on and off. An accident almost happened on 01/10/2024 while driving on curvy road. The steering momentarily felt sticky and hard causing left side of my car to go past the dividing lane. There were oncoming vehicles when it happened luckily car responded before completely crossing the dividing lane.

The steering intermittently "sticks" and requires more force before it releases in a jerk. This can cause more steering angle than desired or required. The issue seems to be getting worse. My symptoms seem to match the 2023 issue : EA23003, but my car is a 2024 model year. I suspect nothing in the steering system changed between model years however.

The steering wheel "sticks" in the center position and does not move smoothly from the center position while driving the vehicle. It requires extra effort to move the steering wheel from the center position resulting in the steering wheel moving slightly further than the amount desired . This started a couple of days ago and the vehicle is three months old with approximately 3300 miles. I have checked the smoothness of the steering using the vehicle's different driving modes, i.e. Comfort, Normal and Sport modes. The result is the same no matter which drive mode is selected. I am concerned about the issue getting worse which is a safety concern. An appointment has been scheduled with the dealer to inspect the vehicle. The vehicle does not display any type of warning messages.

• When driving, the steering wheel occasionally "sticks" in place. It's most noticeable when 1.) Exiting the apex of a curve and attempting to gradually return the wheel to the center position, and 2.) Driving in a straight line for an extended period then attempting to turn the wheel to navigate a curve. The steering wheel requires significant driver input to "unstick" it and move freely. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. • This is a major safety concern as the input needed to "unstick" the wheel may lead to overcorrection and loss of control. It also makes slight steering adjustments difficult due to the input needed to "unstick". Several times this has led to unintended swerving. I routinely transport my young children around and I fear for the safety of them and myself. After doing some research, this seems to be a well known issue with late model Integra/Civic/CR-V and several wrecks have been reported as a result. The bottom line is I do not feel safe driving this car but it's my only means of transportation. • I have not yet taken the car to a dealer. • No manufacturer or agency has inspected the vehicle. • No warning lights are present. The vehicle currently has 3,800 miles, I first noticed the issue around 2,000 miles. It has progressively gotten worse since the initial occurrence.

Recently, after approximately 4000 miles of driving, my steering has become “sticky.” When trying to make small adjustments in direction, my steering wheel gets “stuck” and requires more force than normal to make the steering correction. This extra force causes a greater change in direction than intended. This past week while traveling on an interstate with wet roads…this problem presented itself. It felt incredibly dangerous as I felt I was zigzagging across the lane. This issue seems to be somewhat intermittent, but I am struggling to determine under what conditions the problem presents itself. Again… this issue presented with around 4000 miles on the odometer. I currently have approximately 5200 total miles driven.

The steering sticks. I have taken it to the dealer three times and they can’t find anything wrong. It happens a lot when I’m driving but they haven’t felt it on a short test drive. It’s happens frequently, just not enough for the dealer to notice.

After driving the car for around 15 minutes or so the steering becomes very stiff and takes extra effort to turn the wheel. It almost feels like it’s sticking and then releases when it gets to a certain point and then sticks again when the wheel is straightened. It seems to happen more when at speeds of 40mph and over. When the vehicle comes to a stop and you try turning the wheel it somewhat clicks and then becomes easy to turn again.

When driving it’s as if the steering gets stuck. The vehicle will start to pull from the left to right as if bouncing from one side of the lane to the other. All lane keep assist and road departure features are turned off. Began around 2k miles and currently has 5500. Causing me to over correct and make jerky motions to keep in lane. Sometimes feels like it doesn’t want to correct at all. Noticing it at low and high speeds, constantly fighting a car that feels like it is in control.

When driving at any speed, but particularly exceeding 40MPH, making minor adjustments to steering is sticky and requires excessive force to make the adjustment. When making the adjustment, the vehicle often makes an over-adjustment, and requires an over correction. This is particularly dangerous at highway speeds, where the problem occurs more frequently.

After driving for a certain amount of time and above 35 mph, the steering wheel becomes sticky when trying to adjust direction of the car. For example if there is a bend on the highway, the steering wheel will be come stuck for a second before applying a little more force to turn the vehicle.

Recurring issue where the steering wheel is sticking/not turning smoothly. This feels as though the car may suddenly overcorrect (such as into oncoming traffic or off the road) when the wheel finally snaps into place as you turn it. It is scheduled to go to to the dealer. There are no warning lights or messages.

My Integra is doing what others have dubbed "sticky steering". About a month ago, I noticed the steering wasn't smooth and felt like it wasn't going to turn (tho it HAS always turned) it just feels like it's sticking. It gets worse sometimes and then I turn the wheel back and forth (once turned off) and it seems to help some, but it comes back happening again where it feels like it sticks. This should definitely be looked into because the feeling when it feels like it's stuck is not good and causes a bit of panic, even though like I said, so far, it has always turned. It's not smooth. There is definitely something wrong. And I see that others are having this same issue. Below details are an estimate. It's not something that happened just once, it's ongoing. But I'll note an approximate date when it started.

Steering progressively gets sticky and hard to move back to center when speeds are 45 and up. Usually will occur after some highway/higher speed driving. During turns the car will fight minimal adjustments the driver will try and make as well as trying to keep the car centered in a lane. With lane keep assist fully off and on the results are similar.

Sticky steering wheel occurs while driving on the highway, requiring a momentary increase in steering effort to unstick the wheel. Began yesterday 11/30/2023 at around 5,200 miles. Same exact symptoms that are described in Investigation EA23003 for the Honda Civic, Honda CRV, and 2023MY Acura Integra. I have an appointment scheduled with my Acura dealer service department for 12/5/2023 to look at the problem.

At higher speeds (i.e. 45+ mph) steering wheel feels 'sticky' when driving in a straight line. When driving like this and when I need to adjust the direction a little, the wheel feels stuck in the existing position (i.e. it resists movement) and only after pulling harder on it will it move - and when it moves it moves too much, so car looks like it is weaving around when simply trying to go in a straight line. After moving the steering wheel it loosens up and is OK, but then after going straight again for a few seconds, it gets sticky again. It does not happen all of the time, but seems to happen 70-80% of the time (so far). It is very dangerous, especially at high speeds.

At highway speeds and for most speeds after driving at highway speeds, the steering will “stick”. The steering sticks in the center and slightly to the left when making slight left turns and take more than minimal effort to return the steering to center. Additionally, any small correction that need to be made while driving are made to be more difficult because of the sticky steering. Around town and on more aggressive turns, the steering is more normal. Issue has been consistent for several months. Appointment scheduled with dealer for 10/26/2023

Steering wheel is jerking/sticking and making it necessary to have to make steering adjustment and making the car swerve while driving. This seems to be a common occurrence on comparable Honda Civic models as well. This vehicle only has 2,800 miles on it.

When driving 65+ MPH on the highway the vehicle begins to glide. Left or right. It is hard to bring back into center. I noticed it when I get the car two months ago but it is getting worse to the point I’m uncomfortable driving it. I have noticed I am not the only one with this complaint. I also do have an appointment with my local Acura dealership to get this assessed.
