I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2007 ACURA TL TYPE S WITH 42378 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. UPON GETTING HOME, I FOUND OUT THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS CRACKED IN THREE (3) PLACES. FORTUNATELY FOR ME, THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY SO I TOOK IT IN TO ACURA DEALERSHIP TO GET THE DASHBOARD REPLACED. WHILE AT THE DEALERSHIP I FOUND SOME OTHER CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I LATER FOUND OUT THAT THIS WAS COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE ACURA TL ESPECIALLY IN THE SOUTHERN STATES. ANOTHER ISSUE I'M EXPERIENCING IS WITH THE 3RD GEAR WHICH I ALSO FOUND OUT TO BE COMMON WITH THE ACURAS. SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING, THE STICK WOULD NOT GO INTO 3RD GEAR SMOOTHLY OR SOMETIMES IT JUST POPS OUT OF THE 3RD GEAR. THE THIRD AND FINAL COMPLAINT THAT I HAVE READ ABOUT AND STARTING TO EXPERIENCE IS RATTLING. THE INTERIOR CABIN OF THE CAR THOUGH QUIET FROM EXTERIOR NOISE SEEMS TO BE MAKING SOME NOISE OF ITS OWN FROM THE INSIDE STARTING WITH THE WINDOWS. I HOPE SOMEONE AT ACURA IS AWARE OF THESE PROBLEMS AND IS DEALING WITH THE ISSUE. BESIDE THAT, THE CAR SEEMS TO BE A FINE PIECE OF STEEL. *KB

HE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND HE WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT OFFER HIM ANY ASSISTANCE UNTIL THE FAILURE COULD BE DUPLICATED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 27,500. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,000.

WHEN THE CLUTCH WAS RELEASED, THE TRANSMISSION IMMEDIATELY SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL WITHOUT ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AT ANY SPEED AND WITHOUT WARNING. THIS IS NOT MY FIRST MANUAL CAR BUT MY 7TH MANUAL CAR. I KNOW HOW TO DRIVE MANUAL. THE CLUTCH GAVE OUT AT AROUND 28,000. ACURA OF RIVERSIDE HAS LOOKED AT IT AND SAID THE CLUTCH IS NO GOOD AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. HE ALSO SAID A FEW WEEKS AGO ANOTHER ACURA TL TYPE S HAS REPLACED THE CLUTCH. THE SERVICE TECH HAS QUOTED ME OVER $2,000 TO GET THE CAR WORKING. I BELIEVE THAT ACURA HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION AS THEY DID WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IN THE PASS. MY OTHER CARS LASTED BETWEEN 120K TO 150K WITH THE FACTORY CLUTCH. I HAVE RESEARCH ONLINE AND OTHER PROBLEM ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM.
