TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 BMW 750I. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CONTACT REAR ENDED A VEHICLE, LOST CONTROL, AND STRUCK THE BARRIER WALL FOUR TIMES. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WAS ONE INJURY THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT SUFFERED FOUR LACERATIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD AND DEEMED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER SENT AN ADJUSTER A YEAR LATER TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE INSPECTOR STATED THAT THE BALD TIRES COULD HAVE CAUSED THE AIR BAGS NOT TO DEPLOY. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000.

I JUST PURCHASED A 2006 BMW 750I. BEAUTIFUL CAR. I SAW THAT IT HAD A RECALL. SO I TOOK IT TO THE BMW DEALERSHIP IN CHARLOTTE NC NORTHLAKE TO GET IT CHECKED OUT BECAUSE I JUST BOUGHT THE VEHICLE. I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE RECALL AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD CHECK IT. IT'S THE YEAR 2016 AND THEY TELL ME THAT THE RECALL WAS FOR 10 YEARS AND THAT THEY WOULDNT REPAIR THE PROBLEM. MY CAR IS 10 YEARS OLD AND I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY WONT REPAIR IT. AND ITS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM FOR ME AND MY FAMILY. THE AIRBAG IS A VERY SERIOUS RECALL. WAS JUST HOPING THAT I COULD GET SOME HELP WITH THIS ISSUE. I DONT FEEL AS IF I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS ON SUCH A SERIOUS DEFECT. AND IT WAS A RECALL FOR A REASON

WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, WHICH INDICATED THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE PASSENGER OCCUPANT PROTECTION MAT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V564000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. MY AIR BAG SYSTEM IS NOW COMPROMISED AND THIS IS ANOTHER BMW RECALL ON VEHICLES IN THIS YEARS MAKE AND MODEL. BUT VEHICLE IS EXHIBITING ALL OF THESE DEFECTS/PROBLEMS BUT I AM EXCLUDED. ID LIKE TO KNOW THE LEGALITY OF MY EXCLUSION BEFORE I GO FURTHER WITH ANY LEGAL ACTION WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO MOVE MY VEHICLE INITIALLY THE FIRST INSTANCE OF OCCURRENCE CAUGHT MY ATTENTION CONCERNING THE DOOR. I STARTED GETTING AN ERROR ON MY I-DRIVE ABOUT A MONTH AGO STATING THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH MY AIR BAG/RESTRAINT SYSTEM AND FOUND THE RECALL NOTICE ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE. I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALER AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO GET IT REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD THAT BMW CURRENTLY DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE, AND WAS FORCED TO PAY USING MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. I ENDED UP HAVING TO PAY $260 OUT OF POCKET AFTER DEDUCTIBLE AND EXTRA CHARGES BECAUSE MY EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY DID NOT WANT TO PAY THE HIGH HOURLY LABOR RATE OF THE DEALER. SO I HAD TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE. I TOLD THE DEALER ABOUT THE RECALL ON THE NHTSA SITE & THEY SAID THAT UNLESS BMW HAS IT IN THE SYSTEM SHOWING THAT IT AFFECTS MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE, IT IS NOT VALID... *TR
