MY SWITCHES, RIGHT&LEFT, BOTH FAILED FOR THE 2ND TIME IN ABOUT 3 YEARS. MY RIGHT SIDE SWITCH FAILED WHILE I WAS RIDING MY BIKE, CAUSING ITS STALLING! SO ABOVE AND BEYOND THE SWITCH ISSUES, THE STALLING ISSUE IS THE MOST ANNOYING AS THAT CAN DIRECTLY EFFECT YOUR SAFETY. I THINK A COUPLE K1300S DRIVERS HAVE REPORTED CRASHES BECAUSE OF IT. THAT IS CERTAINLY NOTHING TO BE DOWNPLAYED. YOU KNOW WHY REPORTS ARE COMING OUT NOW THAT BMW IS FINALLY LOOKING INTO THE PROBLEM? BECAUSE PEOPLE FILED THE REPORTS, COMPLAINED ON THE FORUMS AND CALLED BMWNA TO SEE WHAT THE HECK WAS GOING ON AND FOR THEM TO GET OFF THEIR ARZSSES! I AM TRYING TO ENCOURAGE THOSE OF US WHO HAVE BEEN OR MAY BE IMPACTED BY THESE PROBLEMS (SWITCH FAILURES AND NOW THE STALLING) TO TAKE PROACTIVE OWNERSHIP OF THE PROBLEM AND NOT LEAVE OUR COLLECTIVE SAFETY IN THE HANDS OF BMWNA. NOW, IF THE DEALERS DON'T HAVE THE SWITCHES (PLANO, TX AND NASHVILLE, TN), IT IS BMWNA'S FAULT - NO? IF THEY KNOW THAT BIKES HAVE HAD BAD SWITCHES ON THEM, BMW SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL FOR THOSE BIKES THAT ARE AFFECTED, DISTRIBUTE ENOUGH SWITCHES TO THE DEALERS AND REPLACE THEM ALL! BUT, THAT IS NOT HAPPENING. WHY NOT? I'M SORRY, BUT I DON'T BUY INTO THE "NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT THAT" THEORY. I DON'T CARE WHAT THE ACTUAL PROBLEM IS, IT CAN BE FIXED. FIXING IT YOURSELF AND AVOIDING BECOMING STRANDED IS NOT SILLY. "THE PROBLEM IS A LITTLE MORE COMPLEX THEN JUST CUTTING AND SPLICING TWO WIRES TOGETHER."
