The contact owns a 2008 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that the vehicle had failed to start intermittently. The contact stated that upon attempting to turn off the vehicle, the vehicle failed to turn off. The contact stated that her husband, who was a mechanic, had inspected underneath the hood and noticed that the wiring harness underneath the engine was melting. The contact's husband scanned the vehicle with a vehicle scanner and retrieved diagnostic trouble codes that indicated a computer module failure. The contact's husband purchased the module, and the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the module was installed and flashed; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the contact's husband diagnosed that the wiring harness failure had caused the battery to overcharge and fail. The contact's husband replaced the battery and the alternator; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the contact stated that the liftgate struts had failed, causing the lift gate to close unintendedly after being lifted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.

At 65,000 Transmission went out 100,000 Electrical issue due to lose ground wire under fuse box 121,000 Electrical issue caused battery to drain and vehicle not turn off. Even if key out of ignition 121,000 Driver Side Curtain Airbags deployed when battery replaced

LEFT MY HOUSE IT WAS FINE. I STOPPED AND TURNED IT OFF AND WAITED FOR MY FAMILY MEMBER TO COME OUT OF AN APPT. I TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE AND WOULDN'T TURN OVER AND ONLY CLICKED LIKE THE BATTERY WAS DEAD,IT ALSO WOULDN'T LET ME REMOVE THE KEY. THEN I GOT A JUMP START AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. AFTER I WAS HOME I TRIED STARTING AGAIN AND IT DID. I JUST DON'T TRUST IT NOW.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE ALSO STALLED ON OCCASIONS WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HENDRICK BUICK GMC LOCATED AT CARY 115 TEAM HENDRICK WAY, CARY, NC 27511, (919) 234-7784 TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT IMPROPER DRAINAGE FROM THE ROOF ALLOWED WATER TO ENTER THE VEHICLE WHICH CAUSED ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS FAILURE. THE DRAINAGE WAS CLEARED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT THE MOLDED CARPET AND POSSIBLE RESPIRATORY ISSUES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY, WITH THE SHIFT LEVER IN THE PARK POSITION, THE KEY CANNOT BE REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS. THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF, AND THE KEY TURNS TOWARD THE OFF POSITION BUT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL REMAINS LIGHTED AND THE KEY WILL NOT TURN TO THE OFF POSITION SO THAT IT MAY BE REMOVED. NOT A GOOD ANTI-THEFT DEVICE FOR CERTAIN! THE SHIFT LEVER CAN BE MOVED WHEN THE "STUCK KEY" ISSUE IS GOING ON AND THE VEHICLE WILL ROLL DOWN ANY INCLINE LARGE OR SMALL IF THE SHIFT LEVER MOVED FROM PARK. I HAVE HEARD OF "STUCK KEY" ISSUES WITH MANY OTHER GM VEHICLES AND AM WONDERING IF A RECALL WILL BE ISSUED. I CALLED A LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAD NO INFORMATION REGARDING ANY RECALL FOR THE "STUCK KEY" ISSUE REGARDING MY VEHICLE.

SUDBAY CHEVROLET BUICK CADILLAC GMC (88 CAUSEWAY ST, GLOUCESTER, MA 01930, (978) 381-5097) DIAGNOSED THAT THE CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND STATED THAT FURTHER TESTING WAS REQUIRED TO DETERMINE IF ANY OTHER REPAIRS WERE NEEDED. SUNROOF WATER LEAK. WHEN IT RAINS WATER POURS FROM ALL PARTS OF THE ROOF ONTO THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR. FROM FALLING WATER TO WATER RUNNING DOWN THROUGH THE WALLS OF EVERY PART OF THE CAR. IT HAS STARTED TO CAUSE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE AND ALSO I HAVE FOUND MOLD UNDER THE CARPET WHERE THE WATER ACCUMULATES. IT IS USUALLY 1 TO 2 INCHES OF WATER ON THE FLOOR BOARDS AFTER RAINING. CAUSING MOLD, RUST AND MILDEW. THIS HAPPENS WHENEVER IT RAINS, A LITTLE OR ALOT. THIS MAY BE CAUSING UNHEALTH IISUES. IT WOULD BE SMART FOR BUICK TO FIX THESE ISSUES NOW BEFORE MEDICAL BILLS ARE INVOLVED.

IT SUDDENLY STARTS CLOSING BEFORE IT GOES INTO A COMPLETE LIFT POSITION. THE PART THAT MAY BE DEFECTIVE IS UNKNOWN. I AM CONCERNED THAT SOMEONE COULD REACH IN THE REAR OF THE ENCLAVE TO GRAB ITEMS, AND THE HATCH CLOSES IN ON THE PERSON BEFORE THEY CAN ESCAPE.

MY RADIO AMPLIFIER SUFFERED WATER DAMAGE AND 2" OF WATER HAS POOLED AFOOT OF MY VEHICLE FLOOR. THE ISSUE HAS BEEN PRESENT AS OF MARCH 2018 AND HAS RETURNED FOR REPAIR EVERY TWO MONTHS SINCE TO DATE AND IS THERE AGAIN TODAY. THIS ISSUE IS NOT ABLE TO BE RECTIFIED NOR SOLVED. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND FOUND FLOODING AND WATER ACCUMULATION ISSUES ARE A KNOWN, COMMON AND REPETITIVE ISSUE WITH THIS MAKE MODEL AND YEAR. THIS WILL RESULT IN ELECTRICAL AND MORE SIGNIFICANT POWER, AND OPERATION PROBLEMS. A REPAIR, FIX COMPENSATION AND DEEP CLEANING IS NECESSARY.

SHOWING 3 ERROR CODES P0700 - P0174 - P 0171. THIS IS LIKE ONE ERROR CODE PULL THE OTHER. THEN THE NEXT DAY THE LIGHT IS GONE, WHEN YOU COME AND START THE CAR AND THEN AFTER SEVERAL HOUR THE LIGHT COMES BACK AGAIN.

AFTER A HORRABLE RAIN, I CAME TO MY CAR, AND FOUND THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WAS FLOODED.I FOLLOWED THE WATER LEAK AND FOUND IT WAS THE SUNROOF, TOOK THE CAR TO BUICK DEALERSHIP, AND FOUND THE DRAIN TUBE WAS CLOGGED, MY WARRENTY DID NOT COVER IT SO I HAD TO PAY $178.00 FOR THE REPAIR. I THEN LOOKED IT UP AND FOUND THERE IS A KNOWN NHTSA ITEM NUMBER ON THE CAR, IT IS 10026482. AFTER LOOKING INTO THIS I FOUND IT IS A REOCCURRING PROBLEM, IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED-BLOWN OUT EVERY 6 MONTHS. IF IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED A LONG TIME AGO. I AM ON A LIMITED INCOME AND CAN NOT AFFORD $178.00 EVERY 6 MONTHS.IT IS DESTROYING THE CARPET. I LOOKED ON YOUTUBE TO SEE WHAT THE PROCESS IS IN FIXING IT AND I SEE SO MANY WIRES IN THE PATH OF THE WATER. I THINK THIS IS A BIGGER RISK FACTOR THAN A SIMPLE LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SIMS BUCK GMC (940 BABBIT RD, EUCLID, OH 44123) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 158,000.

IT STARTED TO MAKE A TWITCHING NOISE AS IF SOMETHING ELECTRICAL WAS WRONG. I GOT IT JUMPED..BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY AND IT WORKED FINE FOR 6 DAYS. NOW, IT WILL NOT START AT ALL UNLESS IT IS JUMPED. IT ALSO LOCKS THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION IF I TRIED TO START IT WITHOUT A JUMP. THE CAR CONTINUES TO MAKE A TWITCHING NOISE WHEN IDLE. IM AM AGRAID OF A FIRE IGNITING. IT HAS GONE OUT 5-6 TIMES IN THE 8 YEARS I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE.IF YOU WOULD LIKE INVOICE OF EACH TIME/DATE I HAVE THEM WITH THE EXACT PROBLEM. FIVE OR 6 TIMES IT WENT OUT.-- THREE AT SLOW SPEED LOW RPM TRYING TO TURN IN THE CITY AND AT 6 1 WT 230 IT TOOK ALL MY STRENGTH NOT TO HIT A CAR HEAD ON DURING THE TURN.THREE ON THE INTERSTATE TURNING OFF EXIT AN HIGHER SPEED. IF MY DAUGHTER OR GRANDDAUGHTER HAD BEEN DRIVING IN THE CITY THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD. BUICK EXTENDED THE POWER STEERING WARRANTY TO 150;000 MILES . I HAD THE LAST POWER STEERING PUMP PUT IN AT 149,432 MILES 11/23/16. MY CONCERN TO YOU AND BUICK IS ABOUT EVERY 25K POWER STEERING GOES OUT. I NEVER HAD A POWER STEERING PROBLEM WITH MY 2002 CHEVEY SUB WITH 160K WITCH WE STILL DRIVE--NEVER HAD A POWER STEERING PROBLEM WITH MY 2002 GMC DEN WITH 251K WITCH WE STILL DRIVE. .BUICK KNOWS THEY MADE A ENGINEERING DESIGN FLAWED CAR WITH THEIR FIRST ENCLAVE SUV AT THE EXPENSE IN MONEY AND LIVES OF THE 2008 OWNERS ALL 2008 ENCLAVES SHOULD BE GROUNDED LIKE THE 787 WAS BEFORE BOEING/FAA FOUND OUT WHAT WAS CAUSING THE BATTERY FIRES AND FIXED THEM!!.WHY IS A FLYING PUBLIC LIFE WORTH MORE THAN THE A DRIVING PUBLIC LIFE? THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE SUN ROOF NEEDED TO BE SEALED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR AND ALSO BEGAN TO LEAK INTO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. NEVER ANY WARNING LIGHTS OR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT JUST ENGINE TURNS OFF SUDDENLY.THE FIRST TIME I WAS DRIVING ON A BUSY CITY ROAD MIDDLE LANE AT 25-45 M/HR. NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES. UNABLE TO RESTART I WAS ABLE TO PUSH INTO A PARKING LOT AND CALL FOR HELP, IT WAS TOWED TO MY MECHANIC WHO SAID ROLLOVER SWITCH TRIPPED. 2 DAYS LATER ENGINE TURNED OFF AGAIN WHILE EXITING HIGHWAY AT THE SAME SPEED BUT WAS ABLE TO RESTART IN NEURAL AFTER A MIN STOPPED, I DROVE IT STRAIGHT TO MY MECHANIC WHO RESET COMPUTER AND DROVE IT AROUND FOR 3 DAYS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE PROBLEM ON COMPUTER. 2 DAYS LATER WHILE DRIVING 45 M/HR ENGINE TURNED OFF AGAIN. I WAS ON A SMALL DECLINE 2 LANE BUSY ROAD AND ABLE TO RESTART IN NEUTRAL POSITION. A FEW TIMES IN THE PAST FEW WEEKS VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AFTER PARKED FOR A FEW HOURS BUT WOULD START IN NEURAL EVENTUALLY AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS, 12/24/2016 WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY 2 LANE STREET IN TOWN ENGINE STOPPED AGAIN NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES AT 20 M/HR. UNABLE TO RESTART AND PASSENGERS HAD TO GET OUT OF MY BUICK AND PUSH INTO NEAREST PARKING LOT. UNABLE TO RESTART, TOWED ON 12/26/2016 TO LOCAL BUICK DEALERSHIP TO BE DIAGNOSED BY A CERTIFIED DEALERSHIP PER THE SUGGESTION OF BUICK USA. THEY CAN NOT FIND A PROBLEM PER COMPUTER DIAGNOSIS AND ARE TRYING TO TELL ME THERE IS SOME WATER DAMAGE BEHIND DASH ON FUSE BLOCK THAT WILL COST ME THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO REPAIR BUT NO GUARANTEE THAT THAT IS THE PROBLEM I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH LIGHTS, RADIO , AC OR ANY OTHER ELECTRICAL ISSUES THAT WOULD LEAD ME TO BELIEVE THAT THE FUSE BLOCK HAS WATER DAMAGE..PER GM FORUMS THERE ARE MANY ISSUES WITH IGNITION SWITCHES OR IGNITION CONTROL MODULE . PURCHASED USED VEHICLE FROM DEALER FEB 2016. NOTICED VEHICLE LEAKS WHEN IT RAINS THROUGH THE SUNROOF, TOP OF THE WINDSHIELD AREA AND ALSO FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE FLOOR AREA, UNDER THE DASH TOWARD THE BRAKE PEDAL AREA. I'VE HAD MY DOME LIGHTS FILL WITH WATER, WATER LEAKING FROM THE DOME LIGHT AS WELL AS THE TOP WINDSHIELD AREA WHILE I DRIVE AND STATIONARY. THIS LEAKS ARE CONSISTENT WHENEVER IT RAINS, BOTH WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE STATIONARY. WHEN THIS LEAKING/RAIN OCCURS THE VEHICLE RUNS AND IDLES VERY ROUGH. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN CONSISTENT SINCE THE VEHICLE PURCHASE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AND TEST DRIVEN IT WAS NOT RAINING, THEREFORE THE LEAK WAS UNDETECTED PRIOR TO PURCHASE. THE WATER CONTACTING THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS IS A FIRE SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY.

I PURCHASED A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE IN SEPTEMBER 2015. I UNDERSTOOD THAT IT WAS AN OLDER VEHICLE, BUT IT APPEARED TO BE IN EXCEPTIONS CONDITION AND DECENT MILEAGE. HOWEVER, THE DAY AFTER PURCHASE, THERE WAS A PRETTY BAD STORM. AS I WAS DRIVING, WATER BEGAN TO POUR THROUGH THE CLOSED SUNROOF. IT LEAKED ONTO THE DASHBOARD, RAIN BEGAN TO SEEP FROM UNDERNEATH THE DASH ON BOTH SIDES ON TO MY FEET AS I DROVE. I WENT TO THE DEALER TO GET IT CHECKED OUT, BUT THEY WEREN'T ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE SUNROOF.THE LEAKAGE OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. IT HAS CONTINUED, AND NOW MY AUDIO STOPPED WORKING, NO RADIO, CHIMING,ONSTAR, BACKUP NOISES OR ANYTHING. I HAVE HAD THE AUDIO SYSTEM LOOKED AT BUT, THEY CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY NOTHING'S WORKING. THIS SO FRUSTRATING, I HAVE CONTACTED GM, BUT I WAS TOLD THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR THE ISSUES THAT MENTIONED. WHEN IT RAINS, WATER LEAKS INSIDE OF MY VEHICLE. THE LEAK IS ON ALL PANELS, WETTING THE UPHOLSTERY ON THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE WINDOWS, AS WELL AS SURROUNDING THE SUNROOF. WATER LEAKS FROM THE SUNROOF AREA, REAR VIEW MIRROR, AND SIDE PANEL ONTO THE DRIVER WHILE DRIVING. I CONTACTED GM RECALLS, AND THEY ADVISED THERE IS NO RECALL RELATED TO THIS ISSUE ON MY VEHICLE. I OWN A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE WHICH WAS PARKED STATIONARY IN MY DRIVEWAY ON MARCH 24TH 2016. AS I EXITED MY HOME AND ATTEMPTED TO UNLOCK MY VEHICLE I WAS SURPRISED BY A CLOUD OF SMOKE THAT WAS RELEASED BY THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG. IT HAD DEPLOYED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. DAMAGING THE DASH, RADIO, AND DESTROYING THE WINDSHIELD GLASS. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED GM SERVICE DEPARTMENT IN WHICH THEY SENT OUT A TOW TRUCK TO REMOVE MY VEHICLE FROM MY PREMISES AND SHIPPED IT TO A ED RINKE CHEVROLET SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THEIR INVESTIGATOR CLAIMS THAT THERE WAS A PREVIOUS CRACK IN THE WINDSHIELD THAT CAUSED THE 12" OF STANDING WATER DAMAGE ON MY FLOORBOARDS AND IN THE AIRBAG SENSOR MODULE. THERE WAS NO CRACK... SO AFTER BEING INCONVENIENCED FOR ALMOST A MONTH, GM CLAIMS THAT THE WINDSHIELD WAS AN AFTERMARKET PRODUCT AND THAT THEY'VE GOT NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DEPLOYMENT OR TOTALED VEHICLE DAMAGES. THE TRUCK WAS RETURNED TODAY APR. 19,2016 VERY INOPERABLE!

IN 2014 OUR ENCLAVE BEGAN HAVING A POPPING NOISE IN THE AUDIO SYSTEM. ALL SOUNDS, RADIO, DVD, TURN SIGNALS, WARNING CHIMES, STOPPED WORKING. AFTER THE VEHICLE SAT FOR A TIME THE AUDIO WOULD WORK AGAIN. IT HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WITH THE LAST TIME OCCURRING MAY 5, 2015. ON MAY 5, 2015 THE AUDIO STARTED MAKING A LOUD, EAR PIERCING POPPING NOISE WHICH ALMOST CAUSED THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. MY TWO YOUNG CHILDREN WERE ALSO IN THE VEHICLE RIGHT NEXT TO THE REAR SPEAKERS. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE NOISE WAS TO PULL THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY, TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND OPEN THE DRIVER DOOR. (TO TURN THE POWER TO THE RADIO OFF) THE AUDIO HAS NOT RETURNED THIS TIME. THIS IS HAPPENING TO MOST 2008 ENCLAVES AT AROUND 70-75K MILES. BUICK REFUSES TO ASSIST AS USUAL. WATER DRIPS FROM THE VISOR, THE OVERHEAD LIGHTS (WHICH COULD RESULT IN AN ELECTRICAL FIRE) IN THE FRONT MIDDLE AND BACK OF THE VEHICLE IT SEEPS THROUGH THE SEAT BELT HEIGHT ADJUSTERS AND THE AREA WHERE THE SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOY (WHICH COULD CAUSE DEPLOY ISSUES). THE PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN SO BAD MY VEHICLE IS STARTING TO SMELL LIKE MOLD AND I AM AFRAID THAT AFTER A YEAR OF THIS PROBLEM MOLD HAS GROWN UNDER THE CARPET AS WELL AS IN THE OVERHEAD FOAM. MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS IF MY CHILD IS EXPOSED TO THIS FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME IT WILL FLAIR UP HIS ASTHMA. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN IT RAINS MY EXHAUST SMOKES AND CAR PUTTS AS IF WATER HAS GOTTEN INTO THE ENGINE/EXHAUST, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON SEVERAL TIMES WHILE TRAVELING AND NO ONE CAN SEEM TO FIND THE ISSUE, THE CHECK AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON A COUPLE OF MONTHS AFTER THE PURCHASE, AND MY STEERING WHEEL TIGHTENS UP WHEN I TURN AND I HAVE ALREADY HAD THAT TAKEN CARE OF ONCE. THREE WEEKS AGO I TOOK MY 2008 ENCLAVE TO O'NEAL BUICK GMC TO HAVE THE AIR BAG RECALL COMPLETED AS I HAD THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED IN MY DASH ALONG WITH THE SERVICE AIRBAG WARNING SIGN. I ALSO NOTICED WHEN I DROPPED MY VEHICLE OFF THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WASN'T WORKING REGARDLESS IF ANYONE WAS SITTING THERE OUR NOT EVEN MY HUSBAND WHO'S 210 POUINDS THE LIGHT STAYED OFF. AFTER LOOKING AT THE VEHICLE THE TECHNICIAN CAME TO ME AND ADVISED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG ISSUE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO BRING IT BACK AND LEAVE IT BUT THAT THEY WERE FIXING THE RECALL WHICH HAD TO DO WITH THEM TOUCHING WIRES UNDER MY DRIVER SIDE SEAT. UPON LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP I EXPECTED THE PASSENGER SEAT TO BE THE SAME AS THEY TOLD ME I WOULD NEED TO BRING IT BACK. HOWEVER THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT AND SERVICE AIRBAG SIGN SHOULD HAVE GONE AWAY AND THEY BOTH WERE STILL PRESENT. I QUESTIONED IT AND THE TECH SAID AGAIN IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL. I WENT TO GET MY FIRST OIL CHANGE, AND WHEN I PICKED UP THE CAR AND STARTED TO DRIVE OFF EVERY LIGHT IN THE CAR INCLUDING THE BUTTON FOR THE DOOR LOCKS CAME ON. I RETURNED TO THE TO THE DEALER WHERE I GOT THE OIL CHANGE AND THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR 4 WEEKS.MIND YOU THIS WAS A BRAND NEW CAR, A BUICK ENCLAVE, THAT I PURCHASED OUT OF THE STOCK ROOM ON DISPLAY. I WAS GIVEN A RENTAL CAR FOR THAT PERIOD, PICKED UP THE CAR AFTER FOUR WEEKS, RETURNED BACK WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS AND A LEAK IN THE ROOF THAT I ALSO HAD TO REPAIR. SINCE THAT TIME IT HAS BEEN BACK AND FORTH TO THE DEALERS. I CHANGED DEALERS AND TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALER. THEY DID A GOOD JOB BUT TIME AFTER TIME I WAS STILL HAVING PROBLEMS. I SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD THE PROBLEMS AFTER PAYING $47,000 FOR THIS CAR BRAND NEW. I FEEL I WAS GIVEN A BAD DEAL, AND THEY SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THIS CAR BACK BECAUSE I AM HAVING PROBLEMS TO THIS DAY. A SMALL GROMMET FAILED ALLOWING THE SUNROOF DRAIN LOCATED INSIDE THE ROOF TO DRAIN WATER TO THE INTERIOR FRONT DRIVERS SIDE. THE LEAK WAS NOT EASILY DETECTED UNTIL A MOLDY SMELL DEVELOPED INSIDE THE CAR, HUMIDITY ISSUES, AND THE RADIO STOPPED WORKING. THE AMPLIFIER LOCATED NEAR THE LEAK SHORTED OUT AND FAILED. (NO FIRE LUCKILY) AFTER $1700 WORTH OF DAMAGES AND REPAIRS WERE MADE BY BUICK, THIS DESIGN DEFECT WAS CORRECTED AT FULL COST TO THE OWNER. THIS WATER LEAK COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED MORE PROBLEMS AND POSSIBLY EVEN A ELECTRICAL FIRE. OTHER ENCLAVE OWNERS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS SHOULD FORM A CLASS ACTION SUIT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ALSO FAILED. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER AND STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE REPAIRS DID NOT PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM STALLING AGAIN. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER, WHO REPLACED THE WIRES UNDER THE SEATS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE SECOND REPAIR, THERE WERE STILL EXPOSED WIRES PROTRUDING FROM UNDER THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER'S SEAT AND THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE SPORADICALLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE RECURRING FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,061.

A WATER LEAK CAUSED BY A BACKUP IN THE DRAIN TUBES OF MY WIFE'S 2008 ENCLAVE EVIDENTLY CAUSED AN APPARENT COMPUTER SYSTEM INCIDENT WHEREBY I WAS LOCKED IN THE VEHICLE AND COULD NOT GET OUT. THE KEY WAS STUCK IN IGNITION (AND COULD NOT BE REMOVED) AND MANUAL DOOR LOCKS WOULD NOT UNLOCK VEHICLE BECAUSE THERE WAS SOME KIND OF SAFETY INTERLOCK. EVIDENTLY THERE WAS A SHORT IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WHICH DISABLED ALL METHODS OF EXITING OR STARTING VEHICLE. FOR SOME REASON THE ONSTAR SYSTEM WORKED, BUT ONSTAR HAD NO CLUE AS TO HOW TO ASSIST OR OVERRIDE THE INTERLOCK FEATURE. IT WAS WINTER TIME, AND MY WIFE AND OUR DOG WERE ALSO STRANDED IN VERY COLD WEATHER OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. LUCKILY WE WERE ASSISTED BY A STRANGER THAT USED HIS JUMPER CABLES TO GET THE CAR STARTED. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN IF THE CAR WERE SUBMERGED OR THE COMPUTER SYSTEM WAS SOMEHOW COMPROMISED IT COULD CAUSE A SIMILAR PROBLEM. AN AUDIBLE "SLOSHING" SOUND HAD BEEN DETECTED FOR SOME TIME BUT ORIGIN/EXACT LOCATION OF SOUND NOT IDENTIFIED. WHEN PARKING CAR AFTER DRIVING IN THUNDERSTORM ALL WARNING SYSTEMS LIGHTS FLASHED, RADIO STOPPED, AND RADIO AND TURN SIGNALS FAILED. CAR DID RESTART AFTER SITTING FOR BRIEF PERIOD OF TIME AND SYSTEMS WORKED EXCEPT FOR XM RADIO. TOOK VEHICLE TO BUICK DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED PROBLEM AS LEAKING WINDSHIELD, REMOVED AND REINSERTED FUSE FOR XM RADIO, AND REFERRED TO COMPANY WHO HAD REPLACED WINDSHIELD SEVERAL MONTHS BEFORE. WINDSHIELD COMPANY DETERMINED WINDSHIELD NOT LEAKING, BUT DRAINED WATER FROM MOTOR BLOWER AND BLEW OUT DRAINAGE TUBES. ONE WEEK LATER, WATER STARTED TO POUR ON TO PASSENGER FLOOR MAT. WARNING LIGHTS FOR ALL SYSTEMS FLASHED AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUT DOWN AND CARE WOULD NOT RESTART FOR A FEW MINUTES (AND COULD NOT CONNECT TO ONSTAR). WHEN CAR RESTARTED, LIGHTS DID WORK, BUT TURN SIGNAL INDICATORS INSIDE CAR DID NOT, NOR DID SPEEDOMETER, POWER WINDOWS, PASSENGER AIRBAG, ETC. HAD TO DRIVE 60 MILES TO DEALERSHIP WITHOUT THESE WORKING. PAID TO HAVE "FOAM SEAL" REPLACED TO PREVENT RAIN FROM ENTERING CAR (THE PRESUMED SOURCE OF PROBLEM). THEY ALSO CLAIMED TO HAVE DRAINED WATER FROM MOTOR BLOWER HOUSING CLEARED TUBING. ON THE WAY HOME FROM REPAIR, WATER AGAIN POURED FROM AREA OF MOTOR BLOWER ONTO PASSENGER FLOOR MAT, AND ONCE AGAIN, ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS NOT WORKING. OUR 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE BEGAN LEAKING WATER ONTO AND UNDER THE DASHBOARD FROM THE SUNROOF. NOT ONLY HAS THIS BEEN A KNOWN PROBLEM SINCE 2008, BUT THERE WAS AN ACTUAL RECALL THAT YEAR TO FIX THIS LEAK. FOR SOME REASON OUR VIN NUMBER WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE ORIGINAL RECALL BUT IT IS EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES THAT THE RECALL WAS TO ADDRESS. THIS LEAK CAN CAUSE SEVERAL SAFETY ISSUES INCLUDING CORROSION AND FAILURE OF AIRBAG SYSTEMS, THE FUSE PANEL, THE BLOWER MOTOR THAT OPERATES THE DEFROST/DEFOG FUNCTION, AND A BUILDUP OF MOLD AND MILDEW. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT MY FUSE PANEL IS SHOT AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I SUSPECT THAT I HAVE OTHER DAMAGED ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS AS WELL. I HAVE ATTACHED THE URL'S OF SEVERAL SITES WHICH REFERENCE THE EXTENT TO WHICH THIS PROBLEM IS OCCURRING WITH THESE VEHICLES. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE VIN [XXX] GM CASE #[XXX] HAS HAD ELECTRICAL FAILURE RESULTING SINCE OCTOBER 2008 IN TOTAL VEHICLE BEING INOPERABLE AND ONCE BEGAN SMOKING IN THE RIGHT SIDE OF FIRE WALL WHEN JUMP STARTED. DEALER HAS REPLACED ALL WIRE HARNESSES, BCM, 2 RADIO HEAD UNITS/NAVIGATION, ALL LIGHT BULBS, CHECK FOR WATER INTRUSION, BPP SENSOR CALIBRATION, LGM BRACKET, CHECKED FOR CHAFFED WIRE, REPLACE BOTH SUN VISORS. VEHICLE WAS IN THE SHOP FOR 30 DAYS IN LAST 6 WEEKS AND A TOTAL OF 42 DAYS SINCE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW WITH 61 MILES ON SEPTEMBER 2, 2008. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START 45 MINUTES AFTER BEING PICKED UP FROM DEALERSHIP LAST FRIDAY, 5-28-10, AFTER BEING IN SHOP FOR 2 WEEKS. CONTACTED DEALERS SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THAT TIME. NO PHONE CALLS FROM DEALERSHIP SINCE, I STOPPED IN AT DEALERSHIP ON TUESDAY, 5-25-10 TO ASK FOR ANOTHER SERVICE. DEALER HAS NOT PICKED UP VEHICLE AND I SPOKE WITH THE GENERAL MANAGER OF THE DEALERSHIP REGARDING A BUY BACK OR TRADE IN THIS MORNING. GM CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFERED TO PAY 2 MONTHS CAR PAYMENTS, DETAILING AND AN OIL CHANGE AT NO CHARGE. I TOLD THEM I WANTED THIS VEHICLE TO BE SAFE FOR MY 22 MONTH OLD, HIS FRIENDS THAT RIDE IN THIS VEHICLE AND MY WIFE. GM TOLD ME THAT THEY WILL NOT CONSIDER A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE, A GM ENGINEER WOULD NOT BE SENT OUT TO MAKE SURE THIS VEHICLE WAS FIXED PROPERLY AND THIS WAS THEIR FINAL OFFER. I AM CONCERNED THE VEHICLE WILL CATCH FIRE WITH MY FAMILY IN IT. WHEN THE CAR LOOSES POWER, NONE OF THE ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED SAFETY FEATURES OPERATE AS IT IS TOTALLY WITHOUT POWER AS IF THE BATTERY WAS TAKEN OUT OF THE CAR. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP ON A FLAT BED TOW TRUCK ON 2 OCCASIONS. *TR

AFTER NOT DRIVING MY 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE FOR 3 DAYS, WHEN I TRIED TO START IT THE BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DEAD AND I COULDN'T GET THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION. I HAD TO HAVE IT JUMP STARTED, AFTER JUST 9,000 MILES ON IT. APPARENTLY, AFTER DOING SOME QUICK INTERNET SEARCHES, THIS IS A WIDE-SPREAD PROBLEM WITH THE BUICK ENCLAVES. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THERE WAS A DESIGN FLAW WITH THE EASY EXIT SEAT FUNCTION. WHEN THE KEY IS PLACED IN THE IGNITION, BOTH THE SEAT AND STEERING WHEEL ARE SUPPOSED TO MOVE TO PRE-DETERMINED POSITIONS, AND THEN MOVE BACK WHEN THE KEY IS REMOVED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT AND STEERING WHEEL DID NOT MOVE BACK WHEN THE KEY WAS REMOVED. FOR MONTHS, HE ATTEMPTED TO HAVE THE DEALER REPAIR THE VEHICLE, BUT HIS APPOINTMENTS KEPT GETTING PUSHED BACK. RECENTLY, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ISSUE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED IN THAT MANNER. THE MANUFACTURER AGREED WITH THE DEALER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 6,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 500. UPDATED 04-17-09 THE DRIVERS SEAT WOULD MOVE BACK WHEN THE KEY WAS REMOVED FROM IGNITION. 2008 BUICK ENCLAVE - 8 MONTHS OLD - 3200 MILES. FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER THE CAR WOULD NOT START AND THE IGNITION KEY WOULD NOT RELEASE. TRIPLE A CAME AND JUMPED THE CAR - DEALER SAID THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH BATTERY OR ALTERNATOR. HOWEVER, EDMONDS.COM THERE ARE ANY NUMBER OF OWNERS EXPRESSING THIS PROBLEM.
