Purchased new, dealer twice during warranty kept vehicle for 6 weeks to do recall notice repairs. Now this 2010 has 42,000 miles and the steering is going bad. SB10056459-3388 describes the exact problem. During these two periods that recall repairs were done that should have addressed the problem even though the problem had not surfaced yet. This was a wear condition i was never informed of. It is getting worse now.
The contact owns a 2010 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that the power steering failed at speeds of 15 mph or less. In addition, the failure occurred while making a turn. The contact stated the vehicle would have to use manual steering in order to operate the vehicle. There were no warning lights. The dealer was not informed of the failure. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 135,000.

The power steering has issues when turning it seems to not work. Been have this problem for about a year. I’ve talked to other Buick owners and they have the same problem. I also have electrical issues on the drivers side door panel, where none of the switches work. Just all of a sudden quit.
JAN. 10 AT 8 AM MY DAUGHTER AND I LEFT SALT LAKE CITY TO DRIVE HOME TO LAS VEGAS. AT 8 AM, EVERYTHING WAS FINE, NO NOISE FROM THE VEHICLE NO CLANKING, NO SMELL. I COULD DO U TURNS AND SHARP TURNS TO PARK THE VEHICLE BEFORE STOPPING TO GET A BAGEL. WE ENTERED THE 15 SOUTH TO HEAD HOME, WE ARE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF 70-80MPH. AT APPROXIMATELY 11:00AM WE ARE REACHING THE TOWN OF BEAVER, UTAH. I NEEDED TO PULL OFF THE FREEWAY TO GAS UP AND WANTED AN ESPRESSO. WE EXIT THE FREEWAY AND AS I START SLOWING I CAN TELL MY POWER STEERING HAS GONE OUT, I ALMOST HIT ON COMING TRAFFIC WHILE TURNING TO THE RIGHT WHEN COMING OFF THE EXIT BECAUSE IT WAS SO EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STEER. THE OTHER DRIVER HAD TO SWERVE IN TO THE DIRT AREA TO AVOID HITTING MY DAUGHTER AND I, FOLLOWED US TO THE GAS STATION AND YELLED AT ME UNTIL HE REALIZED SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH MY STEERING.. WE HAD TO PAY TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO ST GEORGE UTAH TO RONS SHELL MECHANIC STATION. RON THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS A BAD PUMP OR RACK (EVEN THOUGH THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF IT GOING BAD). WE PAID OVER 2 GRAND TRYING TO GET IT FIXED AND THERE ARE INTERMITTENT POWER STEERING ISSUES, FINALLY RON GAVE UP AND SAID THATS THE BEST HE CAN DO. AFTER INVESTIGATING I SEE MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING POWER STEERING FAILURE WITH 2010 GMC BUICK ENCLAVES. GMC NEEDS TO TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY. MY DAUGHTER AND I WERE ALMOST HIT HEAD ON! I AM WRITING BECAUSE WE PURCHASED A 2010 BUICK ENCLAVE IN 2018. IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASING I NOTICED ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE AND IT HAD TO BE SERVICED TWICE WITHIN A COUPLE WEEKS OF HAVING IT. AT THE TIME THE SERVICE DEPT. COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE AND BLAMED IT ON MY ACCIDENTALLY TOUCHING THE MANUAL SHIFT ON THE SHAFT. I KNEW I WAS NOT DOING THIS. I HAVE VIDEO OF THE CAR DOING THIS WEIRD ACCELERATION AND ALL DURING THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS BUT [XXX] KEPT SAYING THE VEHICLE WAS FINE. WELL, I WAS STRANDED BECAUSE IT JUST STOPPED A FEW DAYS AGO AND HAD TO TAKE A 50.00 UBER HOME. I HAVE HAD TO UBER 3 TIMES NOW AND PURCHASED A CODE READER. THE CODE COMES BACK AS A TIMING CHAIN STRETCHED. IT SEEMS WHAT I WAS FEELING FROM THE VERY BEGINNING WAS IN FACT THIS ISSUE. I AM NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS. I HAVE HAD TO RENT VEHICLES FOR THE LAST 3 DAYS AND WILL HAVE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED BACK TO MY HOME TOMORROW. THERE IS A 'SPECIAL CONSIDERATION ' PROVISION TO REPAIR. WE NEVER RECEIVED ANY INFORMATION ON THIS. WE TOOK IT TO A BUICK DEALERSHIP WHO STATED IT NEEDED REPLACED. THEY WOULD REPLACE THE PUMP ONLY AND WE NEEDED TO PAY $2200.00 FOR A STEERING GEAR. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE TO CHARGE THE CONSUMER ANYTHING TO FIX THIS OBVIOUS SYSTEM DEFECT. WE BELIEVE THE DEALERSHIP NEEDS TO PAY FOR ALL REPAIRS TO MAKE THIS RIGHT. BUT THEY WON'T SINCE IT HASN'T BEEN RECALLED.

MY POWER STEERING QUIT ON THE TURN. THAT NIGHT WHEN I GOT HOME I CHECKED THE FLUID AND IT WAS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF BAND AND SHOWED NO SIGNS OF VISIBILE DEGRADATION. I ALSO SEARCHED ONLINE ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND FOUND IT IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2010 BUICK ENCLAVES. AND FROM WHAT I HAVE READ IT IS NOT CLEAR TO THE DEALERSHIPS IF THIS PROBLEM IS A RACK&PINION ISSUE OR PUMP OR WHAT. SOME HAVE BEEN DENYING THERE IS A GENERIC PROBLEM AT ALL. OTHERS HAVE CONFESSED THERE IS A GENERIC DESIGN FLAW IN THE SYSTEM. I DON'T KNOW IF ANYONE HAS BEEN KILLED DUE TO THIS GENERIC PROBLEM BUT I AM CERTAIN THERE MUST HAVE BEEN SOME ACCIDENTS! I WARNED MY WIFE ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND HAVE ASKED HER TO NOT EVEN DRIVE THE CAR UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. GM NEEDS TO RECALL AND FIX THIS PROBLEM. MY TRIAL AND ERROR TESTING SHOWS THE PROBLEM OCCURS WHETHER TURNING RIGHT OR LEFT. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME AT LOW SPEED TURNS - I WOULD GUESS 50-60% OF THE TIME. NO ISSUES WHEN TRACKING STRAIGHT AHEAD. AGAIN - A REAL SAFETY HAZARD PARTICULARLY IF TURNING IN FRONT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND IT WERE TO QUIT AND IT DELAYS YOUR TURN TIME.SAME IF TURNING TO MERGE INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC- LOSS OF STEERING COULD DELAY YOUR ABILITY TO MERGE AND RESULT IN A REAR END COLLISION. I AM 61 YO AND HAVE OWNED A NUMBER OF CARS OVER THE YEARS AND HAVE NEVER LOST POWER STEERING BEFORE. UNLESS THIS IS REMEDIED PROPERLY BY GM I AM NOT SURE I WOULD BUY ANOTHER BUICK OR GM PRODUCT.

ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND TOOK INTO DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSIS OF ISSUE. WAS TOLD THAT THE TIMING CHAIN HAD STRETCHED AND NEEDED REPLACED WITH A COST ESTIMATE OF $3000. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED, THE FIRST BEING AT 48K MILES, AND NOW AT 95K MILES. WHEN THE REPAIR WAS BEING MADE, WAS TOLD THAT THE CRANK SHAFT WAS WARPED AND HAD FRAYED THE ENGINE INTERNALLY - CAUSED BY THE BAD TIMING CHAIN AND I NOW NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. CONTACTED BUICK, BUT THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. BUICK HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS ISSUE FOR YEARS, AND YET REFUSES TO BACK THEIR PRODUCT OR HELP THEIR CUSTOMERS. ONCE THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED, I NOW HAVE A LOUD POWER STEERING 'WHINE' AND WAS TOLD THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP NEEDS REPLACED - ANOTHER KNOWN ISSUE BY BUICK. JUST INCREDIBLE.
LOTS OF INFORMATION THAT BUICK SHOULD SEND OUT A RECALL REGARDING THE STEERING RACK LEAKS THIS CAR GETS. MECHANIC CLAIMED I HAD STEERING LEAKS, I HARDLY DRIVE THIS CAR.

CAR HAD REDUCED SPEED AND WHITE SMOKE 11/15 41,000 MILES TOWED TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED NUMBER 5 INJECTOR CAR. 2/4/17 CAR HAS 49,584 MILES AND HAD TO HE TOWED AGAIN TO DEALERSHIP SAME ISSUE REDUCED SPEED WHITE SMOKE, WAS TOLD ALL 6 INJECTORS NEED TO BE REPLACED, WATER PUMP, TIMING COVER, STEERING GEAR AND TIMING BELT. THIS CAR HAS TOO MANY ISSUES TO HAVE SUCH FEW MILES. I DID CALL SEVERAL OTHER GARAGES TO SEE IF THEY COULD GIVE ESTIMATE AS I DON'T TRUST DEALERSHIP, THEY WILL NOT WORK ON THE ENCLAVE MOTORS. THERE ARE ALSO TOO MANY RECALLS IN MY OPINION ON THIS VEHICLE. AFTER READING ALL THE COMPLAINTS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING ON THIS VEHICLE.

THE POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING INTERMITTENTLY. WITHOUT WARNING, THE ABILITY TO STEER THE CAR BECOMES VERY DIFFICULT. THIS HAPPENS MOSTLY IN TURNS IN INTERSECTIONS. TURNING THE VEHICLE BACK STRAIGHT OUT OF A SWEEPING 90 DEGREE TURN IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE UNTIL A 5 TO 8 SECOND PAUSE ELAPSES. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, USUALLY CAUSING THE DRIVER TO BRAKE HEAVILY IN AN INTERSECTION FOR WHAT LOOKS LIKE NO APPARENT REASON. THIS IS DANGEROUS NOT ONLY BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF DRIVER CONTROL, BUT YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN. THIS IS BECOMING MORE FREQUENT AND IT CAN BE PURPOSEFULLY REPRODUCED IF THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED RAPIDLY WHILE AT A LOW SPEED. ALSO NOTICEABLE IS A STRANGE NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN JUST BELOW THE STEERING WHEEL AT TIMES, HEARD MOSTLY AT LOW SPEED IN A QUIET ENVIRONMENT. IT IS A TINY SOMEWHAT VIBRATIONAL SOUND SIMILAR TO RUNNING YOUR FINGER ACROSS THE TEETH OF A VERY FINE TOOTHED HAIR COMB. WHILE THIS NOISE IS NOTICEABLE AND IT CAN BE FELT IN THE STEERING WHEEL, IT IS NOT AN INDICATION THAT THE STEERING IS PREPARING TO FAIL AT THAT TIME. THE NOISE COMES AND GOES... IT FEELS ALMOST ELECTRICAL IN NATURE. THE POWER STEERING PUMP RESERVOIR HAS BEEN CHECKED AND IS FULL. THE SERPENTINE BELT DRIVING THE PUMP IS IN GOOD CONDITION AND HAS BEEN DETERMINED TO NOT BE SLIPPING. THE RACK AND PINION IS MOUNTED SECURELY AND IS NOT LEAKING EXTERNALLY.

I WAS LATER CONTACTED BY THE SERVICE ADVISOR STATING THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE COST OF REPLACING THE ACTUAL PUMP AND LABOR WAS COVERED UNDER SAID WARRANTY. THE SERVICE ADVISOR ALSO INFORMED ME THAT THE RACK AND PINION ALSO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SERVICE ADVISOR CLEARLY STATED THAT THE REASON THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED REPLACING WAS BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING PUMP HAD GONE OUT, BUT THE PARTS AND LABOR TO REPLACE THE RACK AND PINION WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE POWER STEERING PUMP WARRANTY, EVEN THOUGH THAT IT WHAT CAUSED THE RACK AND PINION TO FAIL.

ONE OF OUR TOP REASONS FOR PURCHASING FROM BUICK WAS THEIR EMPHASIS ON SAFETY FOR THE FAMILY (WE HAVE 3 CHILDREN). TO DISCOVER THAT BUICK HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THESE STEERING ISSUES FOR MULTIPLE YEARS WITHOUT ADDRESSING THEM IS DEEPLY DISTURBING TO ME AS A CUSTOMER, AND DEMONSTRATES A CORPORATE ETHICAL IMBALANCE THAT CLEARLY WILL NOT BE SELF-RECTIFYING. TWO MONTHS PRIOR THE AIR CONDITIONER/HEATER REQUIRED REPAIR AS A HOSE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO A LEAK, A $425 REPAIR, FURTHERMORE, THE STEERING PROBLEM WE SEEMINGLY HAD CORRECTED 3 YEARS AGO IS OCCURRING AGAIN AND IS NEED OF ANOTHER REPAIR. AND LASTLY, 50% OF THE TIME WHEN I TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND PULL THE KEY OUT OF THE CAR, THE ENGINE CONTINUES TO RUN. THE OCCURRED AROUND 80-85,000 MILES.

TOOK THE CAR TO MY MECHANIC AND THEY FOUND THAT THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ($1,000) AND THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN ABOUT THE BOOTS GETTING WET FROM SOME STEERING FLUID, BUT MY VEHICLE THE STEERING FLUID LEAKED SO BADLY THAT THE STEERING FLUID NEEDED TO BE REFILLED DAILY. THE STEERING COMPONENTS IN THIS VEHICLE ARE FAULTY AND CREATING VERY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. AFTER SEARCHING ONLINE THERE ARE MANY MANY COMPLAINTS FROM CUSTOMERS ON SIMILAR DANGEROUS SITUATIONS OF THEM TURNING INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND THE STEERING FAILING. THE POWER STEERING ON MY 2010 BUICK ENCLAVE STOPPED WORKING SLOWLY. I WAS ALMOST UNABLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL AT ALL. NOT ONLY WAS THE POWER STEERING A PROBLEM, BUT THE "SERVICE AIRBAG" LIGHT HAD BEEN ON FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS. I TOOK THE CAR TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE DEPT & TOLD THE SERVICE REP THAT MY POWER STEERING WAS NOT WORKING. I ALSO ASKED THE AIRBAG RECALL BE DONE ON MY CAR. THE SERVICE REP ADVISED ME THERE WERE 2 RECALLS REQUIRED, BUT THE SECOND IF THE 2 REQUIRED SHE ORDER PARTS. I LEFT THE CAR, A DIAGNOSTIC WAS DONE ($119.50) & I WAS TOLD THE POWER STEERING PUMP & STEERING RACK WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $2,000. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP I HAVE USED FOR YEARS AND WHO I TRUST. THIS REPAIR SHOP REPLACED THE POWER STEERING PUMP, CLEANED METAL OUT OF THE SYSTEM & FILLED THE SYSTEM IN POWER STEERING FLUID ($724.00). I PICKED THE CAR UP & IT SEEMED OK. WITHIN A COUPLE OF DAYS, THE POWER STEERING FAILED AGAIN. THIS TIME THE CAR HAD DUMPED POWER STEERING FLUID. I HAD THE CAR TOWED BACK TO THE SAME REPAIR SHOP. THEY REPAIRED THE BURST LINE & I PICKED UP THE CAR, WHICH DROVE AS IT HAD BEFORE THE PROBLEMS BEGAN. I PARKED MY CAR IN MY DRIVEWAY WITH THE FRONT OF THE CAR BELOW THE REAR OF THE CAR ON A DOWNWARD INCLINE. THE NEXT MORNING, THE CAR WOULD NOT START. I CALLED AAA AND PAID $90 TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED AGAIN. THE CAR WAS TOWED ON A FLATBED AND WHEN IT ARRIVED AT THE SHOP, IT STARTED IMMEDIATELY. I TOLD THE REPAIR SHOP REP TO PARK THE CAR AS I HAD, ON AN INCLINE WITH THE FRONT LOWERED, OVERNIGHT. HE DID & IT WOULD NOT START THE NEXT MORNING. HE TOLD ME HE ROLLED THE CAR OFF OF THE INCLINE & IT STARTED PROMPTLY. HE SUGGESTED I TAKE THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER FOR THE 2ND RECALL. I PICKED THE CAR UP AND DROVE IT FOR 2 DAYS. THE STEERING WHEEL IS SO HARD TO STEER WHEN TURNING. I HAVE ALMOST HAD SEVERAL ACCIDENTS TRYING TO TURN OR BACK UP IN THE VEHICLE. I HAVE CONTACTED BUICK AND READ SEVERAL REVIEWS AS WELL ABOUT THE POWER STEERING ISSUES. IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD. I HAVE TO SIT AT LIGHTS SOMETIMES FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME DUE TO ME NOT BEING ABLE TO GO INTO THE ON COMING TRAFFIC BECAUSE THE STEERING IS SO BAD IT TAKES BOTH HANDS TO TRY TO GET IT STEERED. 2010 BUICK ENCLAVE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE POWER STEERING PROBLEMS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE POWER STEERING BEGAN EXHIBITING PROBLEMS WHEN MAKING SMOOTH LEFT OR RIGHT TURNS. THE PROBLEM WAS NOT CONTINUOUS, ONLY SPORADIC, BUT LATELY WITH INCREASING INTERVALS. IT APPEARED THE POWER STEERING WOULD LOSE POWER WHEN MAKING TURNS AT LOW TO MINIMAL SPEED. AT TIMES, IT WOULD BECOME IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN, HAVING LOST POWER UNTIL THE RPM'S WERE INCREASED. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER HAD THE VEHICLE FOR TWO DAYS, BUT WERE UNABLE TO DETECT ANY VISIBLE PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING. THE DEALER WAS THEN ADVISED TO DRAIN AND FLUSH THE POWER STEERING FLUID AND RE-TEST IT. THE LINE PRESSURES AND FLUSH WERE COMPLETED, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO ATTACH TEST COMPONENTS DUE TO THE LOCATION ON THE ENGINE. THEY DID AGREE, HOWEVER, THAT THEY WERE ABLE TO DETECT THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING DURING TEST DRIVES, THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED. THE DEALER SUGGESTED REPLACING THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND THE RACK AND PINION, BUT THEY COULD NOT GUARANTEE IT WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM. ON MARCH 29, 2013, THE STEERING LOCKED UP AS THE CONSUMER WAS EXITING A PARKING LOT, ATTEMPTING TO TURN LEFT. THE VEHICLE VEERED ACROSS THE ROAD, UP ONTO THE SIDEWALK, AND CONTINUED IN A LEFT TURN BACK ONTO THE ROAD BEFORE THE STEERING RELEASED.

SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE FROM A DEALERSHIP (USED), THE STEERING STARTED TO GET VERY DIFFICULT WHEN TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT AT SLOW SPEEDS. AS THIS WAS A USED VEHICLE, THERE WAS NO WARRANTY. THE POWER STEERING FLUID LEVEL WAS CHECKED AND WAS AT THE CORRECT LEVEL AND THERE WERE NO NOTICEABLE LEAKS OF FLUID. WHEN TURNING THE VEHICLE INTO THE DRIVEWAY, INTO A PARKING SPOT, OR TURNING FROM A STOP SIGN (LEFT OR RIGHT), THE STEERING WILL RANDOMLY ALMOST LOCK UP REQUIRING ADDITIONAL FORCE TO COMPLETE THE TURN. WE HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE TO DATE THAT THIS HAS NOT CAUSED US TO TURN INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC OR RUN OFF THE ROAD INTO A DITCH. THIS SEEMS TO BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE BUICK ENCLAVE THAT GM HAS NOT YET SAW FIT TO ADDRESS. SADLY THERE IS A NEW POWER STEERING PUMP AND RACK & PINION ASSEMBLY IN THE NEAR FUTURE FOR MY ENCLAVE THAT I FEEL SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER AS A DESIGN FLAW. 1- WE BOUGHT OUR USED 2010 BUICK ENCLAVE IN JUNE 2010 WITH ~24000 MI. (BOUGHT FROM A DEALER; CAR HAD BEEN OWNED BY A RENTAL CAR PLACE.) AFTER ONLY A COUPLE MONTHS THE # OF TIMES THE STEERING TIGHTENED BEGAN TO INCREASE. IT IS ESPECIALLY DIFFICULT GOING INTO/OUT OF PARKING/TIGHT SPACES. YOU HAVE TO USE A LOT OF MUSCLE TO TURN THE CAR. I TOLD THE DEALER ABOUT IT DURING A ROUTINE SERVICE CALL, BUT...OF COURSE...THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG (AT THE TIME IT WAS INFREQ.) I CONTACTED THE DEALER AFTER HAVING THE CAR 1YR. THEY SAID THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND THAT I PUT TOO MANY MILES ON MY CAR FOR THEM TO HOLD IT UNDER WARRANTY; I COULD BRING IT IN FOR A $70 DIAGNOSTIC FEE. THE $70 WOULD NOT BE APPLIED TO ANY SERVICE. I WAS GIVEN A GUESS-TI-MATE OF $1200-1500 IF I HAD PARTS REPLACED...I DECIDED TO WAIT. THE STEERING ISSUE COMES AND GOES BUT NOW HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY TIME I'M IN A TIGHT TURN. THEY LOOKED IT OVER TWICE AND COULDN'T FIND ANY ISSUES. THE STEERING BECAME SO THE TIGHTNESS WAS FELT MOSTLY GETTING INTO PARKING SPACES AT SLOW SPEEDS. THEN, I ALMOST HIT A PARKED CAR THE FIRST WEEK OF JUNE WHEN TURNING LEFT AGAIN FROM NOT BEING ABLE TO TURN THE WHEEL, SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED A FAILED STEERING PUMP AND A LEAK IN THE STEERING RACK. GMC PAID FOR THE PARTS AND I PAID $700.00 FOR THE LABOR. *TR

MY 2010 BUICK ENCLAVE HAS NOW HAD THE STEERING RACK FAIL TWICE IN IT'S FIRST YEAR. THE STEERING PUMP HAS NOW FAILED. THIS STARTS OFF AS A RUB AND THEN SOON AFTER BEGINS TO HAVE GRINDING IN THE STEERING WHEEL. I HAVE NOT LET IT PROGRESS AND HAD IT REPAIRED IMMEDIATELY EACH TIME. THE DEALER TOLD ME THE PARTS WERE REDESIGNED YET LESS THAN 6 MONTHS AFTER INSTALLING THE NEW PARTS, IT FAILED AGAIN. I WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THAT THERE WAS INSUFFICIENT OIL IN THE PART AND THE REDESIGN WAS TO ADD MORE OIL. CLEARLY THAT HAS NOT WORKED. I WAS TOLD IF NOT PROMPTLY REPAIRED, IT WOULD LEAD TO LOSS OF STEERING. I HAVE ALREADY FILED FOR REPURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE UNDER THE LEMON LAW IN MY STATE. THE DEALER ALSO MADE STATEMENTS ABOUT THIS BEING A KNOWN ISSUE AND THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO GET VEHICLES REPAIRED AS THEY COME IN AND ARE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY IT'S FAILING. ADDITIONALLY I VISITED THE BUICK ENCLAVE FORUMS AND SOME OTHER SITES AND HAVE INDEED FOUND THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM. I DON'T HAVE A WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF AUTO MECHANICS BUT I'M VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE POSSIBLE LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL AND THE INABILITY OF THE DEALER TO FIX MY PROBLEM. *TR
