Low beam headlights randomly turn off while driving at night and day. Causing not to be able to see the roadway at all. Very dangerous!!! They give no warning at all. Only the low beams do this. Bright lights are not affected. There was a recall for this issue but they said my car was not affected. But it is 100% affected by this recall. Ot seems like the Headlamp driver module is overheating. It gets extremely hot. This issue almost caused a very serious accident .

Taken car to dealership for computer analysis and was told that the issue was caused by P0420cataylic converter needed to be replaced. I had cataylic converter replaced elsewhere and noticed that wasn't the problem. After doing some research I found that ignition switch is the reason my car stalls while driving. There was a Product Safety Recall (14299) Ignition key rotation and replaced on 10- 8-20 but I'm having the same problem.

YOU ARE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT NIGHT AND FOR NO REASON THE HEADLIGHTS GO OUT. YOU HIT THE HIGH BEAMS AND IN A FEW MINUTES THEY GO OUT. HAD THIS CAR TO THE DEALERS AT LEAST 4 TIMES AND THEY KEEP REPLACING THE RELAY AND A MONTH OR TWO LATER IT DOES THE SAME THING. WE HAVE A LOT OF DARK ROADS HERE IN OHIO AND YOU CAN BE COMING INTO A CURVE AND THE LIGHTS GO OUT. YOU CAN'T SEE A THING. GM CLAIMS THEY DON'T HAVE A PERMANENT FIX FOR THE PROBLEM.

I CALL SECURITY TO COME AND HELP ME AND AS WE OPEN THE HOOD IT SMELLED JUST AS BAD. WE NOTICED THAT THE FUSE BOX HAD A MELTED HOLE IN IT. ONCE IT OPENED SEVERAL FUSED WERE BURNT. I HAVE READ THAT SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. I WISH U LET US UPLOAD PICTURES OF THIS INCIDENT. I DID EXTENSIVE TESTING TO FIND THAT THE HDM LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHT RELAY MANUFACTURED BY I THINK DELPHI WAS THE PROBLEM . I WENT TO AUTO SUPPLY BOUGHT THE HEAVIEST DUTY RELAY I COULD FIND . I REPLACED IT AN PROBLEM WAS SOLVED . THIS WAS BACK IN MAY OF 2014 . THEN IN JANUARY 2015 I RECEIVED RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM . I HAVE CONTACTED G.M. SEVERAL TIMES . I READ WHERE THEY STATE IF YOU HAVE PAID FOR THE REPAIR THEY WILL REIMBURSE OWNER FOR THE REPAIR . THIS IS BLACK AND WHITE PLAIN AND SIMPLY . I SUBMITTED FORM , RECEIPTS , ECT . ACCORDING TO THEIR REQUIREMENT ON THE RECALL LETTER . DOES NOT SAY I HAVE TO WAIT FOR SEVERAL MORE LETTERS OR SEVERAL YEARS IT IS ON THEIR RECALL LETTER .EVERYTHING THEY ASKED FOR TO THE STANDARDS . WHILE ON VACATION MESSAGE TO CALL . AFTER MANY CALLS AGAIN I WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT FOR SECOND RECALL LETTER TO GET REIMBURSED . SHE STATED I HAVE TO TAKE IT TO DEALER . THE LOW BEAMS ON THIS VEHICLE HAD BEEN FLICKERING ON AND OFF AT NIGHT FOR A FEW DAYS. THEN THE LOW BEAMS WOULD NOT COME ON AT ALL ON THE NIGHT OF DECEMBER 2, 2012, HIGH BEAMS WORKED BUT THE SMELL OF BURNING PLASTIC FILLED THE CAR AND I IMMEDIATELY SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. UPON INSPECTION I FOUND ONE OF THE RELAYS, PRESUMABLY THE LOW BEAM RELAY, BURNED AND MELTED INSIDE THE FUSE BLOCK CAUSING A SMALL FIRE INSIDE THE FUSE COMPARTMENT WHICH FORTUNATELY CONTAINED THE FIRE BUT DESTROYED THE ENTIRE FUSE PANEL (BLOCK). THIS APPEARS TO BE A WELL DOCUMENTED AND COMMON PROBLEM ON THE 2007 BUICK LACROSSE AND YET THERE IS NO RECALL. THIS IS A TOP TIER SAFETY CONCERN AS IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THERE IS A FATALITY ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SAFETY ISSUE. I HAD THE CAR REPAIRED AT A BUICK DEALER FOR A TOTAL OF $616.15. THIS TYPE OF FAILURE SHOULD NOT HAPPEN ON A VEHICLE OF THIS AGE OR MILEAGE, YET I AM READING THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON TO EXPERIENCE THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE. I AM RESEARCHING ALL CLAIMS AND CONSIDERING A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM CORRECTED. I FEEL AS THOUGH GM OWES ME MY $616.15 BACK AND SHOULD CORRECT THIS ISSUE VIA A MASS VEHICLE RECALL. *TR

THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BUT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY LOW BEAM HEADLAMPS FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS NOW NOT TURNING ON AT NIGHT OR THEY BEGIN TO FLICKER ON AND OFF CAUSING ME TO DRIVE WITH MY HIGH BEAMS ON.. BUT TODAY I SMELLED AN ELECTRICAL FIRE AS I PARKED AND EXITED MY CAR AND SAW SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND IT TURNS OUT THE RELAY FOR THE HEADLAMPS WAS BURNING AND MELTED. DRIVING A DISTANCE OF THREE MILES CAR STALLED FIVE TIMES. STARTED AGAIN EACH TIME DEALERSHIP SOLD ME A NEW BATTERY THREE DAYS LATER--ACCELERATION QUIT, GOING DOWN THE ROAD IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. I ENGAGED THE ACCELERATOR WITH NO RESPONSE. ABLE TO PULL OVER AND TURN OFF KEY AND THEN START AGAIN AND PROCEED. DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THE COMPUTER SHOWED NO PROBLEM WITH THE CAR. TWO DAYS LATER THE CAR STALLED IN MY MOBILE HOME PARK, STARTED THEN STALLED AND WOULDN'T START. WHEN I TRIED TO START THE CAR IT WOULDN'T. THEN WHEN I TRIED TO START AGAIN AND RELEASED THE KEY, THE STARTER GRABBED THE KEY AND KEPT GRINDING MOMENTARILY. THEN WHEN I TRIED TO START IT THE STARTER CLICKED AS IF IT WERE GONE. I PARKED IT FOR THE NIGHT AND CALLED AAA IN THE MORNING. THE CAR STARTED RIGHT UP AND WAS DRIVEN ON TO THE TRUCK.. I WAS TOLD I NEEDED TWO PARTS A STARTER AND SOMETHING ELSE. THAT WAS ON MONDAY. IT'S THURSDAY NOW AND I'M WAITING FOR ANOTHER PART. I WAS TOLD THE DIMMER SWITCH HAD SHORTED OUT AND HAD BEEN AFFECTING THE WHOLE SYSTEM. IT IS NOW THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND MY PART HAS BEEN SNOWED IN . THERE IS NONE TO BER HAD IN THE WHOLE CITY OF TAMPA FLORIDA! I AM A SNOW BIRD AND AM THANKFUL I WASN'T ON THE ROAD TO MICHIGAN WHEN THIS HAPPENED. WHEN THE CONTACT MOVED THE DIMMER BUTTON, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AGAIN, BUT THE HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS ILLUMINATED INSTEAD OF THE NORMAL BEAMS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE AND THEY FOUND NO FAILURES; HOWEVER, THEY REPLACED A PART. THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE OF WHICH PART WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, IT DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
