TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1992 BUICK LESABRE. THE CONTACT NOTICED COOLANT LEAKING FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE. WHILE THE PARKING BRAKE WAS ENGAGED, THE CONTACT HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL TO PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM ROLLING DOWN AN INCLINE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 96V015000 (POWER TRAIN) AND 91V167000 (PARKING BRAKE) HOWEVER, THE CONTACT'S VIN WAS EXCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 240,000.

WHEN TRAVELING AT ANY SPEED IN HOT CLIMATE WEATHER VEHICLE STALLS AND CUTS OFF WITHOUT ANY PRIOR WARNING, CAUSING LOSS OF ALL POWER. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED THE DEALER, DEALER UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK

THE ENGINE WOULD STOP WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS FROM 10 TO 45 MPH ONCE IT WAS HOT. THE ENGINE COULD NOT BE RESTARTED FOR 10 TO 30 MINUTES. AFTER THE ENGINE STOPS RUNNING IT IS DIFFICULT TO STEER OR STOP THE VEHICLE. DEALER FOUND THE CRANKSHAFT TIMING PICKUP SENSOR FAILED WHEN IT BECAME HOT.
AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE ABOUT 1/2 MILE, AT THE SPEED OF 20 MPH, SAW STEAM COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. AS DRIVER PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD VEHICLE HAD NO BRAKES. WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO A SHOPPING CENTER AND STOP THE VEHICLE. AT THAT TIME THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE AND BURNED UP IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT AT 60MPHI VEHICLE CUT OFF, ALL THE POWER AND LIGHTS WENT OUT. HAS BEEN TOWED TO DEALER 3 TIMES FOR SAME PROBLEM PROBLEM, IS IN THE IGNITION. *AK
