I RECENTLY, GAVE THIS CAR TO MY SON AND I WOULD BE DEVASTATED IF ANYTHING WERE TO HAPPEN TO HIM. HE STATED THAT THE CAR STARTED MAKING THIS LOUD WINDING NOISE AND IT WAS HARD FOR HIM TO STEER THE CAR. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LUCERNE. THE TIE RODS IN THE VEHICLE WERE REPLACED TWICE WITHIN A THREE YEAR PERIOD. DURING THE FIRST FAILURE, THE VEHICLE BEGAN VIBRATING AND SHAKING WHENEVER THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE TIE RODS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER 18 MONTHS. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY TIGHTENED AND GREASED THE TIE RODS. THIS REPAIRED THE FAILURE FOR SIX MONTHS UNTIL IT OCCURRED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE TIE RODS AGAIN. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT THE TIE RODS WERE A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND THEY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE. WHEN HE PICKED UP THE VEHICLE HE NOTICED THE VEHICLE STILL PULLING TO THE RIGHT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30 MPH. WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ON THE VEHICLE IT PULLED TO THE RIGHT. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN AROUND A CURVE THE STEERING WHEEL CAME BACK TO THE CENTER, BUT IT STILL DRIFTED 3 DEGREES TO THE RIGHT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE MUST KEEP PRESSURE ON THE STEERING WHEEL IN ORDER TO KEEP THE VEHICLE STRAIGHT. THE CONTACT STATED THE DEALER HAS DONE 3 FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENTS AND BALANCED THE TIRES. PURCHASED 2006 BUICK LUCERNE, JUNE 24,2006 FROM SCOTT BUICK, OF PINELLAS PARK, FL. WE DROVE IT DOWN THE ROAD 4 MILES AND TURNED BACK TO RETURN IT TO DEALER . THE STEERING WAS PULLING TO THE RIGHT REAL BAD. DEALERS SERVICE DEPT CHECKED THE MECHANICS OF THE STEERING AND COULD FIND ANY REASON FOR THE PULLING TO THE RIGHT. RELEASED IT TO US ON JUNE 26,AND AFTER A COUPLE MILES DOWN THE ROAD WE PROMPTLY RETURNED AGAIN TO THE DEALER. THEY LOOKED FOR A GM BULLETIN REGARDING THIS PROBLEM THIS TIME, THEY SERVICED IT ACCORDING TO THE BULLETIN SPEC'S, ON THE 28TH. THAT DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM TOTALLY THIS MAKES 3 TIMES IT WAS IN SERVICE FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE STEERING PROBLEM STILL EXIST AS OF TODAY JULY 22, 2006 THIS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THE AUTO. *NM
