DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE HAS HAD CONTINUAL PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR REPAIRS BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. THE TRANSMISSION WAS ALSO REBUILT BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THERE IS A RECALL #91V214000 PERTAINING TO POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE MANUFACTURER CONFIRMED THAT VIN WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL BUT THAT THE RECALL HAS EXPIRED. THE VEHICLE ALSO HAS CONTINUOUS FAILURE IN THE DESIGN OF THE WHOLE BRAKE SYSTEM. TWO MECHANICS CONFIRMED THAT THE BRAKE PROBLEM IS A CHRONIC PROBLEM DUE TO A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE BRAKE FAILURE AS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT.

MASTER CYLINDER HAD FAILED AND WAS REPLACED WITH FACTORY UNIT ABOUT A YEAR AGO. THIS MASTER CYLINDER IS ALSO FAILING, REQUIRING EXCESSIVE PEDAL PRESSURE AND POOR STOPPING. FRONT BRAKE DO NOT APPEAR TO WORK WELL.
WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR, RESULTING IN EXTENDED STOPPINGF DISTANCE. DEALER HAS REPLACED THE BRAKE SYSTEM TWICE. ALSO, WHEN CONSUMER WENT TO ROTATE THE TIRES THE BRAKE PARTS STARTED TO FALL OFF. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
19922-REAR DOORS STICK-ADJUSTED 4 TIMES; BRAKES CLEANED DUST BUILD UP ON PADS AND ROTORS; 1994-REPLACED WATER PUMP; 95- EXHAUST SEAL CRACKED;REPLACAED EVAPORATOR AND COMPRESSOR AND HEATER CORE; FRONT BRAKE PADS REPLACED AND RESURFACED ROTORS; -96 DOOR STICS IN FREEZING RAIN- HAD TO HAVE DOOR HADLE AND CONTROL ROD FIXED; 98 REPLACED WATER PUMP AGAIN; ODEMETER STOPPED WORKING, AT 47,000 (?) ,FRONT AND REAR BRAK PADS AND ROTORS REPLACED, RUST ON RIGHT REAR SIDE WINDOW. HAD MY OIL AND LUBE JOB AT DEAALER; IN 11/98 AND IN12/98 HEARD NOISE IN FRONT, AND FOUND OUT THAT POWER STEERING FLUID WAS ALMOST GONE. THE GAS STATION MECHANIC LISTENED TO THE NOISE AND FOUND THIS OUT. FINALLY, IN 99 ALL DOORS FROZE AND TWO FRONT DOOR HANDLES BENT AND NEEDED TO BE FIXED. THE FRONT SIDE WINDOW VISIABILITY IS POOR. *AK

WHILE DRIVING THE CONSUMER TRIED TO MAKE A SUDDEN STOP BY DEPRESSING THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO TRAVEL. *AK CONSUMER HIT A PARKED CAR DUE TO BRAKE FAILURE, GARAGE REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER AFTER A SECOND BRAKE FAILURE. *SLC
TURN SIGNAL SWITCH CONNECTORS DID NOT OPERATE PROPERLY. ALSO, PREMATURE WEAR OF FRONT BRAKE CALIPERS/PADS AND ROTORS.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE ABOUT 10 MPH THE CONSUMER TRIED TO STEP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL FOR A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. SHE HAD SOME PROBLEM TO STOP VEHICLE. THE BRAKES DIDN'T STOP VEHICLE ON TIME, THE VEHICLE KEPT ROLLING. VEHICLE HAD BEEN TAKEN TO THE SHOP. *AK
ANTI LOCK BRAKES DO NOT WORK PROPERLY, FEEL SPONGY AND DO NOT STOP VEHICLE.
