CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT A GAS TANK PROBLEM. WHEN THE GAS TANK WENT DOWN TO 5 OR 6 GALLONS WHILE TURNING A CORNER GAS WOULD NOT CONTINUE AND THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN. ALTHOUGH THIS DEFECT OCCURRED WHEN ON THE STRAIGHT AWAY IT WAS MORE OBVIOUS WHEN TURNING THE CORNER. CONSUMER MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH DEALER, AND THE DEALER WAS QUESTIONING THE CONSUMER ABOUT THE INFORMATION HE RECEIVED CONCERNING THE GAS TANK REPLACEMENT. *AK

CONSUMER STATED THAT VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. WHILE DRIVING ALONG- VEHICLE BEGAN TO SLOW UP. SHE PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE, HER HUSBAND GOT OUT OF VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT VEHICLE WAS SMOKING. HUSBAND WENT AROUND, LIFTED THE HOOD, THEN LOOKED AROUND TO THE REAR, AND SAW FIRE COMING OUT OF THE BACK OF VEHICLE. BY THE TIME THEY GOT THE FAMILY OUT OF VEHICLE AND STARTED ACROSSING THE STREET THE VEHICLE WENT UP IN FLAMES. FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED, AND THEY PUT THE FIRE OUT. CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS THE GAS TANK.*AK
BAFFLE BROKE AWAY FROM FUEL TANK WHICH BLOCKED SUCKING LINE, CAUSING ENGINE TO SHUT OFF. DEALER NOTIFIED, AND MADE REPAIRS AT CONSUMER'S COST. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS ON THIS MATTER. *AK

THIS ACTION ALSO OVERWORKED FUEL PICK-UP AND CAUSED IT TO MALFUNCTION. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED CADILLAC, CONSUMER HAS REPLACED TANK. *AK *ML

AT ANYTIME THE FUEL TANK HAS 6 GALLONS AND WHEN MAKING A STOP, FUEL TRAVELS TO FRONT OF TANK, CAUSING VEHICLE TO LOOSE FUEL. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURHTER INFORMATON. *AK
WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND APPLYING THE BRAKES VEHICLE WOULD CUT COMPLETELY OFF. DEALER HAD TO REPLACE GAS TANK AND FUEL PUMP. *AK
WHEN MAKING A TURN WITH SIX OR LESS GALLONS OF FUEL IN THE FUEL TANK, VEHICLE CUTS OFF, AND THERE IS A LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. DEALER SAYS IT'S DUE TO A DESIGN FLAW. *AK

WHEN STOPPING AND TAKING OFF AGAIN, THE VEHICLE WOULD MOVE VERY SLOWLY AND JERK. ALSO, WHEN THE CONSUMER PUTS FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR THE VEHICLE ISN'TPICKING UP ANY SPEED. *AK
THE CONSUMER HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY. THE BAFFLE IN FUEL TANK IS BROKE, CAUSING THE GASOLINE TO SWISH AROUND IN THE TANK, RESULTING IN INTERMITTENT STALLING. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
FUEL PUMP/FUEL FILTER/FUEL STRAINER,AND THE FUEL TANK FAILED DUE TO PLASTIC LINING INSIDE GAS TANK ETERIORATING/CRACKING, CAUSING PIECES OF LINING TO BLOC FUEL PUMP, RESULTING IN STALLING.
FUEL PUMP IS LOCATED INSIDE THE GAS TANK, AND WHEN THE FUEL IS BELOW 5 GALLONS THE VEHICLE WILL STALL/LOSING ALL POWER, INCREASING THE POTENTIAL FOR A COLLISION TO OCCUR. *AK

THE SENDING UNIT FOR THE FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM DOES NOT REPORT WHAT IS ACTUALLY IN THE FUEL TANK. BECAUSE THE ELECTRONIC SYSTEM IS DEFECTIVE AND OR THE PLASTIC BAFFELS IN THE FUEL TANK, BREAKING AND PLUGGING UP THE FUEL LINE INTAKE. DEALER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. *AK
