TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 CADILLAC DEVILLE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. THE CONTACT RETRIEVED CODES FROM THE ON BOARD COMPUTER: PASS KEY OPEN/SHORTER PELLET, PASS KEY WRONG AND FUEL SENSOR FEEDBACK SHORTED HIGH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. CONSUMER LOSES ALL POWER BRAKES, AND STEERING, ETC,. *AK CONSUMER SAID THAT THERE AREN'T ANY WARNING LIGHTS BEFORE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF. ONCE THE CONSUMER STOPS THE VEHICLE, IT HAS TO BE RESTARTED AND IS OK UNTIL THE NEXT OCCURRENCE. *SB
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. WHEN THIS OCCURRED THE VEHICLE LOST POWER BRAKES AND STEERING AND WAS DIFFICULT TO STEER. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE STALLING WAS RELATED TO A FAILURE IN THE MAIN COMPUTER CHIP. THE DEALERSHIP IS AWAITING PARTS TO SERVICE THE VEHICLE. THEY ARE ALSO GOING TO RE-CLEAN THE ENGINE BECAUSE OF EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. *NM THE EGR VALVE FAILED AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. *SC *JB

CONSUMER STATES THAT THE SERVICE RIDE SYSTEM AND SERVICE STABILITY LIGHTS ILLUMINATED, THE STABILITY/ABS HAVE ENGAGED WHILE DRIVING, THIS CAUSES VEHICLE TO DECELERATE SIGNIFICALLY, DEALER HAS REPLACED THE STEERING WHEEL SENSOR, REPAIRED SEPARATED LINK AT THE LEFT FRONT POSITION SENSOR AND CLEANED THE CORRODED GROUNDS LOCATED AT THE ELECTRONIC BRAKING AND TRACTION CONTROL MODULE, DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. *SLC

PASSENGER'S SIDE MIRROR WILL NOT STAY ADJUSTED. CONSUMER HAS TAKEN IT INTO DEALER ABOUT 15 TIMES FOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. AFTER ADJUSTING MIRROR, AND TURNING AWAY, AND WHEN LOOKING AT MIRROR AGAIN, CONSUMER MAY BE LOOKING AT THE SKY. CONSUMER FEELS THIS IS UNSAFE BECAUSE WHEN CHANGING LANES, DRIVER DOESN'T KNOW IF ANOTHER CAR IS COMING OR NOT. ALSO, DOOR LOCKS, WILL LOCK CONSUMER OUT OF VEHICLE.*AK WHEN VEHICLE IS FIRST STARTED IN THE MORNING, IT FEELS LIKE IT IS TURNING ON 6 CYLINDERS. DOOR LOCKS DO NOT WORK PROPERLY, SLIDING DOOR HAS BEEN OPENED WHILE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN MOTION, REMOTE UNLOCK BUTTON INOPERABLE. POWER WINDOW NEEDED ADJUSTED. CONSUMER STATES THERE IS A LOUD NOISE IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, DEALER HAS MADE ADJUSTMENTS TO FRONT AND REAR CASTER, CAMBER, AND TOE IN. DASH BLINKS IN AND OUT, DEALER FOUND GROUNDS TO BATTERY WERE CORRODED. CENTER VENT ON DASH WILL NOT STAY IN PLACE. FRONT ROTORS OUT OF ROUND TWICE, REAR ROTORS OUT OF ROUND ONCE, FRONT BRAKE PADS WORN. BATTERY SHORTED. *SLC
WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH DURING NIGHT HOURS VEHICLE LOST ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS, AND ENGINE STOPPED. AFTER 10 MINUTES, CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO GET VEHICLE STARTED. ALSO, BRAKE OPERATION WAS SPONGY, AND OPERATED ERRATICALLY AFTERWARDS. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/ATTACHMENTS. *AK

VEHICLE STALLS AT BETWEEN 25 AND 32 MPH AFTER COASTING OR BRAKING GENTLY FROM 50 PLUS MPH. TOOK TO DEALER ON 09/28/00 WHO SAID IT WAS DIRTY FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM, SYSTEM CLEANED. DEALER WANTED OWNER TO DRIVE THE CAR FOR 500 MILES TO SEE IF THE PRBLEM WAS FIXED. AT 300 MILES,OWNER'S SON AND WIFE BOTH HAD CONDITION OCCURE 10/01 AND 10/02/00 DURING A TURN WHICH DID NOT RESULT IN ANY PROBLEM BUT THE POTENTIAL FOR AN ACCIDENT IS HIGH. OWNER WAS ABLE TO RECEREATE THE PROBLEM 5 TIMES IN ONE DAY (10/03/00) SENT TO DEALER ON 10/04/00 WHO INDICATED THAT THERE WAS A SERVICE BULLETIN TO REPLACE A CRANK SHAFT SENSOR. THIS WAS DONE ON 10/04/00. PROBLEM IS BACK ON 10/06/00 SAME CONDITION. DEALER INFORMED AWAITING RESPONSE TO THE STALLING PROBLEM. *AK
FIRST PROBLEM WAS THE BATTERY SHORT ON 5-26-99, THEN ON 6-15-99 AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON, STATING TO SERVICE AIR BAG. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER AND I WAS ADVISED THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH AIRBAG SYSTEM. ON 7-7-99, AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. VEHICLE TAKEN TO DEALER AND AGAIN ADVISED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG,L JUST A FAULTY LIGHT. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WOULD NEVER DELOY UNLESSS THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT. ON 7-29-00 WHILE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. AIRBAG SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON, AND AIR BAGSDELOYED IMMEDIATELY ON DRIVERS SIDE DOOR. VEHICLE TAKEN TO DEALER AND LEFT FOR 27 DAYS. GMC STATED THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ANOTHER VEHICLE. AS I CAN SEE THEY LIED TO ME, IT HAS HAPPENED. I HAVE A LAWSUIT PENDING WITH THEM SINCE 11-29-99 REQUESTING THEY BUY BACK MY VEHICLE. NOTHING HAS BEEN HEARD FROM SINCE. ON 11-1-99 FUEL GAUGE SENSOR WENT OUT AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. ALL THESE PROBLEMS STARTED WITH A BATTERY SHORT ON 5-26-99 AND THE COMPUTER HAS A MIND OF ITS OWN. PLEASE NOTE: THE AIR BAG HAS ONLY DEPLOYED ONCE. HOWEVER, I HAD TWO PREVIOUS WARNINGS. *AK
ON-GOING / INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WITH ENGINE STALLING, BUT WILL RESTART. VEHICLE BEEN TO THREE DEFFERENT DEALERS. FIRST DEALER INFORMED CONSUMER OF A LOOSE NEGATIVE CABLE, WHICH DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. BUT THE OTHER DEALERS WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHEN THE IGNITION KEY IS REMOVED THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACK WARD STRIKING A PASSENGER WITH OPEN DOOR AND CAUSING INJURIES. YH
REMOTE CONTROL FOR POWER DOORS/LOCKS DOES NOT OPEN THE DOOR. ALSO, WINDSHIELD WIPERS DO NOT COME ON UNLESS TURNED ON HIGH, AND WHEN CAR IS PUT IN REVERSE THE POWER DOORS DO NOT LOCK. DEALER CANNOT FIX. *AK
