TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CADILLAC DEVILLE. WHEN THE CONTACT REMOVES HIS FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN. THE FAILURE ALSO OCCURS WHEN IDLING AT A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. THE ABS TRACTION LIGHT ILLUMINATES. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN INSPECTED BY A MECHANIC. IN ADDITION, THREE OF THE WINDOW REGULATORS FAILED WITHIN A WEEK OF EACH OTHER. CURRENTLY, ALL FOUR WINDOWS FAIL TO GO UP AND DOWN PROPERLY. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 88,627 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. REMAILED 11/14/08. *LJ

THE CONTACT REAR ENDED THE PRECEDING VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. BOTH VEHICLES SUSTAINED DAMAGE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED AN INJURY TO HIS NECK. BROUGHT CAR AT ARNOLD PALMER CADILLAC IN CHARLOTTE, NC, INDEPENDENCE AVE ON 2/10/07. AFTER GETTING HOME, BRAKES BEGIN TO SQUEAK, TOOK CAR BACK IMMEDIATELY THE NEXT DAY, I WAS TOLD TO PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE AND SLAM ON BRAKES AND THE SQUEAK SHOULD STOP; THAT WAS AN INSULT. AGAIN I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP , I WAS TOLD THAT THEY TOOK THE BRAKES PADS OFF AND SANDED THEM DOWN AND THE SQUEAKING WOULD STOP. IT HAS BEEN THREE WEEKS NOW, MY BRAKES IS STILL SQUEAKING WITH A GRINDING NOISE. SPENDING $16,000 FOR A VEHICLE, I FEEL I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS. I HAVE MISSED 2 DAYS OF WORK TAKING MY CAR BACK TO THE DEALESHIP TO BE MADE A FOOL OF. I HAVE BROUGHT 3 CADILLACS FROM ARNOLD PALMER, NEVER AGAIN WILL THEY GET MY BUSINESS OR WILL I RECOMMEND ANYONE TO THEM FOR THIS TYPE OF SERVICE. IN ADDITION TO THE BRAKE PROBLEM, NOW THE WARNING LIGHTS ARE COMING ON FOR FLUID LEVELS. WHEN YOU BUY A CAR FROM A WELL-KNOWN COMPANY, YOU TRUST THAT THE PRODUCT YOU BUY WILL BE RELIABLE, AND HAVE GONE THROUGH A FIVE POINT INSPECTION. WHAT CAN I DO TO RESOLVE THIS SITUATION, BECAUSE I CANNOT CONTINUE TO KEEP MISSING WORK AND TAKING THE CAR BACK FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. I FEEL ARNOLD PALMER IS PUTTING ME OFF IN AN EFFORT FOR THE WARRANTY TO EXPIRE, AND THEY WILL NOT HAVE TO FIX PROBLEM. *JB

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE TURNING INTO A DRIVEWAY AT 10 MPH OR LESS THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED SEVERAL TIMES ALONG WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE DEPRESSION OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS UNINTENTIONAL. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A GATE AND A PARKED CAR. THE OCCUPANT OF THE PARKED CAR WAS INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED A PIN FELL OUT OF THE BRAKE PEDAL RENDERING IT INOPERABLE. UPDATED ON 05/30/2006. *AK

THE VEHICLE STALLED INTERMITTENTLY. THE BRAKES FAILED, AND THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN TWO FRONT END COLLISIONS. *AK THERE WAS A FUNNY NOISE IN THE ENGINE AT IDLE SPEED. THE ENGINE WOULD LOSE POWER AND STALL. THE SERVICE MANAGER SUGGESTED THAT THERE WERE PROBLEMS WITH THE 2000-2004 MODEL WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. THE FRONT BRAKE LININGS WERE WORN, THE DASH PAD WAS PEELING AT THE LEADING EDGE NEAR THE DEFROST EDGE NEAR THE DEFROST GRILLE DUE TO DELAMINATION AND THE COIN HOLDER HOUSING HAD COME APART AND SPLIT AT THE SEAM. *SC THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR WAS REPLACED. *JB

ALSO, HAD A TIE ROD PROBLEM. *AK THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT HE BRAKE WERE WEARING NORMALLY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED EVERY 25000 TO 30000 MILES. THE CONSUMER NOW HAS NO CONFIDENCE IN THE DEALER AND REFUSES TO ALLOW THEM TO WORK ON THE VEHICLE FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN WARRANTY WORK. *NM

DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR WAS THE PROBLEM, AND HAD BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES. *AK THE SENSORS WERE REPLACED 6 TIMES. ALSO, KNEE BOLSTER BELOW STEERING WHEEL FEEL ONTO CONSUMER'S LEGS. CONSUMER FOUND PLASTIC CLIPS THAT HOLD KNEE BOLSTER. TECHNICIAN INSTALLED NEW KNEE BOLSTER. *LA

CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AND SUDDENLEY VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND TOOK OFF IN TRAFFIC, CONSUMER HAD BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND APPROPRIATELY FOR BRAKES, VEHICLE WAS OUT OF CONTROL. *AK CONSUMER STATES THAT THE DRIVERS SEAT HEATER IS INOPERATIVE, DRIVER AND PASSENGER FRONT SEAT BELT BUCKLES WERE OUT OF POSITION, AND THE PASSENGER SIDE PLASTIC RETAINER WAS BROKE, WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE CONSUMER LOST ALL POWER STEERING, DEALER REPLACED RACK AND PINION, ENGINE IS MAKING A KNOCKING NOISE, WHILE ACCELERATING VEHICLE STARTED IN THIRD GEAR, WHICH THE GEARS SEEM TO LOCK UP INTERNALLY, VEHICLE STARTS VIBRATING AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE RIGHT CENTER DASH A/C VENT CLOSES BY IT SELF, THE NIGHT VISION LENS IS CRACKED AND THE CONSOLE HOLDER AND LATCH BROKE.*YD
ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM HAS FAILED 3 TIMES. DEALER CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH VEHICLE. BRAKES LET GO AND WILL NOT STOP VEHICLE. CONSUMER WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 40MPH IN TRAFFIC, AND WHEN APPLYING BRAKES TO SLOWDOWN THEY FAILED, CAUSING CONSUMER TO REAREND ANOTHER VEHICLE. CONSUMER WAS CRITICALLY INJURED, AND VEHICLE WAS TOTALED.*AK
