I HAD 2000 YEAR MODEL ESCALADE SUV. FIVE YEARS AGO IT PRESENTED THE PROBLEM OF REAR COMPARTMENT AIR BLOWER NOT STOPPING ON TURNING THE ENGINE OFF. BATTERY WAS GETTING DRAINED. NO HELP FROM GM. I TOOK THE FUSE OFF FOR THE AIR BLOWER TO STOP BATTERY DRAIN. TWO YEARS LATER I PUT THE FUSE BACK TO CHECK IT . IT FUNCTIONED OK. IS IT ELECTRONIC MALFUNCTION? *TR

THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FAILED. THE EMC FUSE WAS ALSO BLOWN DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THE FUEL PUMP. THE REPAIRS WERE MADE AT THE COST OF OVER $900. THE MANUFACTURER COULD NOT ASSIST DUE TO THE EXPIRATION OF THE WARRANTY. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 133,000.

CLAYTON COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT ENGINE 1 RESPONDED TO A SERVICE CALL FOR A HEATED SEAT IN A CADILLAC ESCALADE THAT CAUGHT FIRE. THE OWNER STATED THAT SHE STARTED THE CAR AND NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE DRIVER SEAT. SHE INVESTIGATED AND FOUND THAT THE DRIVER SEAT WAS BURNING. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY THE OWNER. CLAYTON COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT DISCONNECTED THE POWER SOURCE TO THE SEAT. THE ONLY DAMAGE OBSERVED WAS TO THE WIRING UNDER THE SEAT, AND A BURN MARK ON THE LEATHER SEAT.
