TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CADILLAC ESCALADE. WHILE DRIVING, SMOKE APPEARED FROM THE LIGHTER AREA. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND FOUND A PENNY IN THE LIGHTER AREA. THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S CHANGE HOLDER WAS POSITIONED IN A MANNER WHERE CHANGE COULD FALL INTO THE LIGHTER COMPARTMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD, SEATS, AND ELECTRICAL WIRING WERE BURNED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED A CASE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ADVISED THEY NEVER SAW ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE AND HAD KNOW IDEA HOW TO REPAIR IT. THIS SPARE IS HUNG BY A BOLT AND TWISTED CABLE BOTH WHICH RUSTED THRU THIS IS WHAT CAUSED THE TIRE TO FALL OFF. MY CAR IS MAINTAINED BY THE DEALER AND HAS 45,000 MILES ON IT FYI. *TR
