Cadillac Srx Years to Avoid
The 2010 Cadillac SRX is the worst year to avoid, being the first year of the second generation with typical launch quality issues. The 2010-2012 models experienced problems with the 3.0L V6 engine's timing chain, which could stretch prematurely and require expensive repairs. These years also saw complaints about transmission shuddering and rough shifting in the 6-speed automatic. Electronic issues including the CUE infotainment system's unresponsive touchscreen plagued these models. The turbo 4-cylinder option in early second-gen models proved less reliable than the V6.
Best Cadillac Srx Years
The 2019 model year is noted as best, though by then Cadillac had replaced the SRX with the XT5. The 2015-2016 SRX models benefit from GM addressing early second-generation problems. The first-generation 2007-2009 models offer V8 power and more distinctive styling after initial bugs were resolved. Look for examples with documented service history regardless of year.
