2006 Cadillac SRX turn signals burn out within months or replacement. I made 2 videos of me fixing it, put on YouTube with over 35, 000 views. That must mean there are lots of folks with this problem that don't know where to report it. While driving, the indicator flashes a bit faster than it should - the only clue it isn't working. You think other drivers know your intentions and they don't. This is dangerous. Mechanics have to pull the bumper, a bit of work, and want over $300 to change the bulb. Over and over again. This is the 5th time in 3 years. 2nd problem is the "Stability System" - well, I'm not driving on ice, have never needed such a thing. This one nearly cause me to crash into a curb or parked car as I was making a left hand turn in our residential neighborhood at what 15 mph? Suddenly the wheel locked, tires locked and sent me screeching dangerously close to that parked car. It does have a warning, "Service Stability System" but the dealer will want a lot for that, too. So I've resorted to pushing the Disable button on the console until it says, "Stability System Off" then I can drive safely. I have not had this inspected. Everything that gets fixed on this Cadillac seems to break again.

WHEN I TURN ON THE CAR THE GAS GAUGE AND THE TEMP GAUGE DO NOT MOVE. THE SECURITY AND NO TRACTION WARNING LIGHTS STAY ON. WHEN I DRIVE THE CAR ON THE STREET STEERING IS SLUGGISH, THE TRANS RPMS ARE HIGH, SOMETIMES THE CAR GOES TO THE LEFT WHILE DRIVING. ON THE RADIO THERE IT READS ANTI THEFT SYSTEM HIT BUTTON TO CLEAR. WHEN I TURN OFF THE CAR THE KEY WILL NOT COME OUT OF IGNITION AND I HAVE TO USE SCREWDRIVER TO PUSH A BUTTON IN STEERING COLUMN TO RELEASE IT. ONE WEEK EVERYTHING WORKED GREAT, NO WARNING LIGHTS, GAUGES WORKED, NO HIGH RPMS ON TRANS AND STEERING WAS FINE AND THE KEY CAME OUT OF THE IGNITION AND NOTHING ON RADIO ABOUT ANTI THEFT SYS. BUT EVERYTHING IS NOT WORKING AGAIN AND NOW ENGINE LIGHT IS ON.

GAS GAGE, TEMP GAGE DOESN'T LIGHT UP, POWER STEERING DOESN'T WORK, TAIL GATE WON'T OPEN, T/C LIGHT STAYS ON, LOCK LIGHT STAYS ON IGNITION GETTING HARD TO TURN KEY OFF, CAR STALLED. 2006 CADILLAC SRX. WHEN TURNING IGNITION ON. IT WORKS SOME TIME WHEN WEATHER IS COLD, WHEN IT WARMS UP IT QUITS WORKING.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD TO WAIT A FEW MINUTES BEFORE THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. OCCASIONALLY, THE BATTERY HAD TO BE DISCONNECTED AND RECONNECTED IN ORDER TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ALSO FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. DURING THE MOST RECENT FAILURE, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 168,000.

TAKATA RECALL I HAVE A CADILLAC SRX 2006 WITH VERY LOW MILEAGE AND THERE IS DEFINITELY AN ISSUE WITH THE TIMING CHAIN SETUP AS WELL AS THE VEHICLES HEAD LIGHTING ERRORS, FROM MY RESEARCH THIS IS DEFINITELY A FAULT FROM THE COMPANY DESIGN AND COULD HAVE CAUSED INJURY OR EVEN DEATH

CADILLAC SRX FROM YEARS 2004-2009 HAS A PROBLEM WITH BURNT OUT FRONT TURN SIGNAL/RUNNING LIGHT BULBS. TO CHANGE AN $8.00 BULB COST ABOUT $150-200 BECAUSE OF THE AMOUNT OF WORK TO ACCESS THE BULB. I FEEL THAT BECAUSE THIS IS A TURN SIGNAL (SAFETY) PROBLEM GM SHOULD HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM FOR FREE OR MADE AN ENGINEERING CHANGE WHICH THEY DIDN'T. THE WEB SHOWS NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FROM SRX OWNERS WHO HAVE CHANGED THE BULBS NUMEROUS TIMES AND GAVE UP AND NOW HAVE NO FRONT TURN SIGNALS. MOST WHO HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM SAY THAT THE BULB RUNS TOO HOT CRACKING THE AC-DELCO SOCKET(19120947). THE LAST TIME I REPLACED THE BULBS ONE BURNT OUT IN A WEEK. MY VEHICLE IS AN 2004 CADILLAC SRX AWD 3.6 L 6 CYLINDER ENGINE AND AS 10/3/2004 MY MILEAGE IS 40065. BULBS HAVE BURNT OUT 4 TIMES. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED AND VEERED TO THE RIGHT. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A GUARDRAIL AND SUDDENLY VEERED TO THE LEFT. THE VEHICLE LANDED ON GRASS AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE NECK, THE LEG AND THE RIBS. THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED AN INJURY TO THE LEFT ARM. THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NHTSA CAMPAIGN 14V394000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND BELIEVED THE CRASH WAS RELATED TO THE RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,700.

AT RANDOM THE BLINKER AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAIL IN MY 2006 CADILLAC SRX V6 AWD. I WAS DRIVING AND TURNED ON THE BLINKER TO MAKE A TURN AND THE BLINKER DID NOT SOUND AND DID NOT FUNCTION. THIS PROBLEM DOES NOT HAPPEN REGULARLY IT IS A 1 IN A 100. I HAVE HAD MY CADILLAC IN TO A CADILLAC DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES TO HAVE THIS CORRECTED AND I FEAR THAT MORE CARS MAY HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND AN ACCIDENT MAY OCCUR. AT TIMES WHERE THE BLINKER FAILS THE RADIO ALSO MAY SKIP STATIONS. *TR

TURNED KEY TO START TRUCK, SMOKE CAME OUT OF AC VENTS AND STEERING COLUMN, ACRID ODOR ACCOMPANIED SMOKE. SHUT KEY OFF EXITED VEHICLE, FLAMES ERUPTED IN VEHICLE, CALLED FIRE DEPT. THEY ARRIVED 20 MINUTES LATER, CAR WAS HEAVILY DAMAGED. VEHICLE TOWED TO CADILLAC DEALERSHIP. TRUCK CONSIDERED TOTAL LOSS. I SUSTAINED INJURY EXITING VEHICLE , AS I AM 7 MONTHS PREGNANT. *JB
