Problem: My 2010 Cadillac SRX with 87,000 miles been having issues with downshifting , my vehicle would not shift to second or higher gear while driving and makes it very unsafe on the road. When this occurs I would try to pull over safely to park. My SRX would be drivable if shifted to park and then shift to drive or if i turn off the vehicle and re-start. I have been back and forth going to my mechanic( s). I was told possible TCM issues but no definite diagnosis. I have been reading a lot of 2010 SRX owners on Cadillac forums with exact similar issues and decided on making this official to report to NHTSA hoping it would open an investigation and figure out the defect on this type vehicle. My vehicle issue or problem started to become symptomatic around year 2021 and my SRX has around 63,000 miles on it. I keep up with the regular scheduled maintenance and upkeep, The SRX looks like new and would like to keep it longer as the rest of the vehicle is kept it's appearance and other parts well. I have reported this issue directly to the main contact number @Cadillac company and they told me my vehicle VIN is not included on the safety recall with shifting issues and offered me a $100.00 for repair coupon instead for future repairs. i have spent thousands of dollars fixing the unidentifiable issue whenever the engine light comes on and throws out a code but my downshifting problem continues.

Additionally, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle failed to accelerate above 40 MPH. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. Hello, I wanted to let you all know that I have a 2010 cadillac srx, to which in the past these type of vehicles had had a transmissions issues, thus recalled...Well the vehicle I own, is doing and having the same transmission problem/issues...and Yet it is not under the Recall list...The Cadillac dealership, has my car and is wanting to open up the transmission and inspect it for almost 2 thousand dollars( i like on a dissability montly income) ..I had this same car diagnosed at 2 different auto shops , whom provided me with the folllowing 2 error codes P076 and p0700, which are the transmision control solenoid and the transmission control module...but back at the cadillac service dealership , here in amarillo tx...they want almos $6000 for a new transmission replacement or half of that for rebuilding the current one...When i strongly believe that my car is part of the same recall , being the same model and same similiar transmission issues

The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle received an unknown software reprogramming however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 65,000.

Service Bulletin (PI0703B) was issued for numerous 2010 Cadillac SRX, unfortunately the recall wasn't issued for my vehicle (VIN). The service bulletin was for DTC c0407 with symptom code 64, the exact same code that was found with my vehicle.

My vehicle has service rear axle and stabilitrak warnings on and an open recall that was supposed to be addressed by August 12th still no remedy. The service bulletin states not to drive the vehicle if those warning lights are on due to the recall. My vehicle drives terribly and so I have listened and waited for remedy. I can't keep going without a vehicle so this needs to be moved along faster

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated while driving at an unknown speed, the traction control, stabilitrak, and rear axle warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle started to shake uncontrollably, and the steering wheel became difficult to turn, with an abnormal noise. The contact mentioned that the tires were wearing unevenly due to the defective toe link. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed however, the mechanic was unable to fix the defect. The dealer was contacted and hung up the phone when the contact asked for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2010 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would independently downshift without warning. After a few minutes, the contact would be able to resume normal driving upon restart. The contact called a dealer about the failure and was informed that unless a warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel, they could not diagnose the failure. Recently, the contact stated that while driving out of a parking lot, the vehicle would not shift out of first gear with the check engine warning light illuminated. After, calling her husband for assistance, her husband was able to restart the vehicle and the vehicle resumed normal operation. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available.

ENGINE RPMS REV ABRUPTLY BETWEEN 3K - 4K DURING SHIFTS. MOSTLY HAPPENING IN 1ST-3RD GEAR. THIS HAPPENS DURING ANY CONDITION WHERE MY VEHICLE IS ACCELERATED MODERATELY OR HIGHER. DURING LIGHT ACCELERATION IT IS LESS NOTICEABLE BUT WILL STILL SPIKE RPMS DURING SHIFTS. IT HOVERS AROUND 3K - 4K RPM BEFORE SHIFTING. WHAT IT FEELS LIKE UNDER ACCELERATION IS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WENT INTO NEUTRAL FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN BACK INTO GEAR OR INTO NEXT GEAR UNDER HEAVIER ACCELERATION.

JUST TODAY, IT STARTED VIBRATING HARD DOWN SHIFTING AT 40 MPH. I HAD TRACTION CONTROL ISSUES AROUND 61K MILES WHICH WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, SENSOR FAILURES, SUSPENSION AND ACCUMULATOR FAILURE AT 66K MILES AND A/C ACTUATOR FAULTY AT 48K MILES. MOST REPAIRS ON ANY VEHICLE I HAVE EVER OWNED AND THIS IS GMA TOP OF THE LINE.

RETURNED TO HAVE PART REPLACED TRANSMISSION CONTROL STICKING DURING OPERATION REPLACED TRANSMISSION CONTROL SHIFTER ASSEMBLY. PARTS WAS $207.83 AND LABOR WAS $280.00, MISC $25.00. SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AT 29,526 MILES.

WHEN I SHIFT TO PARK, THE DASH TELLS ME I HAVE NOT IN PARK AND I AM UNABLE TO TURN THE CAR OFF. I HAVE TO REVERSE, THEN SHIFT BACK TO PARK, SOMETIMES SEVERAL TIMES, IN ORDER FOR THE CAR TO FINALLY REGISTER THAT I AM IN PARK. ALSO, WHEN I SHIFT TO REVERSE, THERE IS A HUGE THUNKING NOISE. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT ISSUE THAT CAN OCCUR ANYWHERE FROM 1 TIME PER WEEK TO SEVERAL TIMES. I HAVE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN FOR THE ISSUE TO CERTIFIED GM DEARLSHIPS AND POINTED OUT THAT SEVERAL MESSAGES ON BULLETIN BOARDS STATE IT'S A TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE. MANY OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM, HOWEVER, IF THE DEALERSHIP CANNOT REPLICATE IT, THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING TO FIX. I SAW A RECALL FOR THE SAME ISSUE FOR 2010 AND 2011 SRX'S, BUT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL ALTHOUGH I'M EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE.

I TOOK THE CAR TO THE CADILLAC DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY AT $784. THIS WAS SO SCARY LOSING POWER ON THE FREEWAY LIKE THIS, THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. *TR

I AM UNABLE TO SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION OUT OF GEAR (DRIVE INTO PARK) WHEN I GO TO PARK THE CAR. WHEN I DO SHIFT INTO PARK THE DASH READS "SHIFT INTO PARK" AS IF IT DOESN'T RECOGNIZE, EVEN THOUGH THE SHIFTER IS IN PARK AND I AM UNABLE TO TURN THE CAR OFF. I SIT THERE AND "JIGGLE" THE SHIFT KNOB FOR SEVERAL MINUTES UNTIL IT TURNS THE DASH ERROR MESSAGE OFF AND THEN THE CAR WILL TURN OFF AND I CAN FINALLY EXIT THE CAR. THIS CORRESPONDS WITH A NHTSA RECALL # 11V595. AND THE CAD DEALER AND GM ARE NOT COOPERATING WITH ME TO COVER THE FIX CHARGE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, WHICH RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE PROBLEM RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS THE FIRST ON MAY 21, THE SECOND ON AUGUST 14, WHILE DRIVING MY 8 MONTH OLD 2010 CADILLAC SRX WITH 8549 MILES ON IT AT SPEED, DASHBOARD LIGHTS GO CRAZY, I GET A STABILITRAK WARNING AND THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL. THE ONLY WAY TO GET INTO A GEAR TO DRIVE IS TO TURN OFF THE CAR LET IT SIT FOR AT LEAST 90 SECONDS THEN RE START AND GO. FIRST TRIP TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY COULD SEE WHAT HAPPENED BUT NOT WHY IT HAPPENED. THEY TOOK THINGS APART AND PUT THINGS TOGETHER HOPING TO CATCH A LOOSE FITTING. SECOND TOW TO THE SHOP, AUGUST 14TH, THE CAR IS STILL THERE AS OF 9/1. I AM TOLD THAT A PART IS NEEDED AND THAT PART IS ON BACK ORDER AND WON'T BE IN FOR ANOTHER 2 WEEKS OR SO. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ON THE 2010 CADILLAC SRX PERFORMANCE TRIM STICKS IN LOW GEAR WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE, LEADING TO INABILITY TO SAFELY MERGE ONTO THE FREEWAY OR EXPRESSWAY. ONCE STUCK, THE ONLY WAY TO 'UNSTICK' IS TO BRING THE CAR TO A COMPLETE STOP (0 MPH), WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS DOWN AND SEEMS TO 'RESET' ITSELF. MERGING ONTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AT HIGHER SPEEDS IS CONSEQUENTLY MADE UNSAFE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE CAR CANNOT SPEED UP REASONABLY AND IS RESTRICTED IN TERMS OF THE MAXIMUM SPEED IT CAN ACHIEVE ON THE 'STUCK GEAR'. ISSUE SEEMS TO REPLICATE CONSISTENTLY AND HAS BEEN SEEN MOSTLY DURING THE FIRST FEW MINUTES OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE AFTER IT COOLS DOWN. THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION THAT USUALLY SHIFTS B/W 2000 - 2500 RPM GOES AS HIGH AS 6000 RPM WITHOUT BUDGING FROM THE 'STUCK' GEAR. *TR
