My vehicle caught fire while driving it. There was no warning…no engine lights on, no smoking engine. The fire seemed to start behind the dashboard of the passenger side. Less than 5 minutes and the car was completely engulfed in flames. My insurance company said there was too much damage to tell me what caused the fire.
HEADLIGHTS!!! The headlights are so dim that other drivers flash me, honk at me or yell at me to turn my lights on when driving at night. When driving at night It is the same as driving without my headlights on. I have to use the high beams to drive at night. I changed the fuses, changed 1 of the bulbs and still no difference. The whole headlight housing needs to be changed. Here is a link to a gentleman who did the work to find out why Cadillac SRX's seem to be having this issue: [XXX] . Please, we need a recall to fix the headlights. This is a safety issue for me driving at night as well as anyone else on the road who can't see me. Faulty sky light drainage design directs water directly into the rear under deck compartment where the company located electric lift gate equipment the water shorts out the entire electric system. The total loss of power occurring at highway speed could be deadly.
Dim headlamps that are non fixable by installing new lights.. headlamp assemblies in the 2016 Cadillac SRX suffer from defective seals that allow moisture to accumulate and condense, therefore damaging and dimming the headlight bulbs.
The headlights are too dim to drive at night and with close to zero visibility, this is an extreme hazard. A Google search results in thousands of Cadillac SRX owners with the same issue and have called this car a "death trap" and have stated that they almost hit pedestrians. GM/Cadillac is not taking responsibility and are telling owners that we have to pay $2000 out of pocket for replacing the entire light housing, except the high beams and driving lights work but not the headlights for nighttime driving which is obviously a manufacturing defect. Please hold GM/Cadillac responsible before someone loses their life.
The recall on the the toe Link adjuster was replaced with a part that does not allow for adjustment of toe in or toe out. As a result, the rear tires had premature wear on the inside tread causing replacement of the tires. The dealer claims the replacement is correct and will not correct the part. The tire store said the part will not allow them to do the alignment to be correct.
There is webbing, delaminated on the touchscreen. It is no longer functioning. Dealership is asking $1700 for replacement. This is something that Cadillac knew and refuses to recall/replace. I cannot afford to replace this. It’s unethical of Cadillac to do something like this. Some type of voucher or assistance would be grateful if Cadillac/GM would step up to the plate and assist with this repair. It’s unacceptable and dangerous.
My vehicle screen is starting to shatter .Each day it’s shatter more and more. I hear a thump noise and then the screen shatters more and more. My vehicle has never been in a accident.
I have been having issues with my vehicle stalling and trembling. The Stabilitrak message, check engine light, and service traction control message has turned on a couple times when starting the car. On Aug 9th, I received a letter in the mail stating that my car has a safety recall. The same day I called the Cadillac dealership where I bought the car and scheduled an appt to check these issues and advised about the recall letter I received. The dealership scheduled an appt on Aug 31st. On the 31st, I dropped the car off and left it there for two days. On sept 2ns, I called to check on the status of my car, when the service assistant advised that they did not have the part and have to order it and they do not know when they are going to receive it. Nothing was done to my vehicle. I asked if I can leave my car at service and get a loaner and they said they were not lending out any vehicles due to the pandemic. I live 1hour from the dealership. I have been driving for almost a month around with a vehicle that's not safe. The recall letter clearly states that if this vehicle is driven , it can result in a crash. It also states that the parts to repair the vehicle are not currently available. I am not sure what to do or who to contact in this matter as I do not have another vehicle I can rely on. Please advise.
I RECEIVED A RECALL # N212340980. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THERE IS NO SOLUTION UNTIL GM GETS PARTS. MY SON WAS DRIVING CAR AND ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT ON INTERSTATE. I WANT PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE THAT GM HAS NOT COME UP WITH THE PARTS AND ALMOST KILLED MY SON BY CAR GOING OUT OF CONTROL.
While driving during the last month, the CUE system that controls the heating/cooling controls (among other options) turned itself off. Hence, the air conditioning shut off. This may not seem to be a safety issue, but we were driving back from Topsail Island, NC, to our home in Winchester, VA and it was 97 degrees outside. After several tries, we were able to get it going again, but it continues to shut itself off unpredictably. I am 70 years old and my husband is 75. We also have a dog who can't tolerate heat. This could be a life-threatening issue for us. We are in the process of getting this replaced, for about $800! My research on the web and info from the dealer indicates that this is a widespread issue. It is deserving of a recall.
CUE SCREEN SPIDER WEB CRACKS, NOW NOT FUNCTIONING AT ALL, CAN NOT USE RADIO, BLUE TOOTH, OR TEMPERATURE CONTROLS. IT CONSTANTLY CHANGES THE LANGUAGE OF MY ENTIRE CONTROLS TO DIFFERENT LANGUAGES ON ITS OWN AND THE SCREEN JUMPS BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN CONTROLS BUT NONE OF THE CONTROLS WORK. CUE SYSTEM FAULTY AND INOPERABLE AND AFFECTS YOUR PERIPHERAL VISION AND DISTRACTS FROM DRIVING BECAUSE THE SYSTEM FLASHES. THEY ARE INSISTING THAT I HAVE TO SEND THE CORE BACK TO THE MANUFACTURER WHEN I HAVE TO PAY $1200 TO REPLACE IT, THEY WILL SEND IT BACK AND RESELL IT FOR A HIGHER PRICE AND I WANT TO KEEP THE UNIT FOR EVIDENCE.

CADILLAC HAS REPLACED THE SCREEN 2 TIMES (ONCE IN 2017 AND 2018). THE SCREEN HAS ONCE AGAIN CRACKED. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGER AS IT MAKE THE SCREEN UNUSABLE INCLUDING THE CAMERA SYSTEM. IT IS A CIRCULAR PATTERN AND IS NOT CRACKED FROM THE OUTSIDE. I LOOKED THIS ISSUE UP AND IT APPEARS THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR THIS ISSUE. MY DEALER TOLD ME IT WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $1300 TO FIX, WHICH I AM EXTREMELY UNHAPPY ABOUT AS A VEHICLE SHOULD NEVER DO THIS.

DID OUR RESEARCH AND WAS NOT ABLE TO LOCATE WHERE THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS. FORTUNATELY, WE CARRY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, UNFORTUNATELY, WE ARE LIMITED AS TO WHERE WE CAN TAKE IT TO GET THE WORK DONE. VERY FRUSTRATED AND DISAPPOINTED.

THE CUE SYSTEM IS TOTALLY UNRESPONSIVE. I HAVE AROUND 57,000 MILES AND BOUGHT THIS CAR AS A CERTIFIED USED VEHICLE WITH AROUND 30K MILES. THE CUE SYSTEM WORKED WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR BUT CERTAIN ICONS LATER STOPPED RESPONDING WHILE THE MILEAGE WAS UNDER 50K. AND NOW NOTHING RESPONDS. I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY TOLD ME TO OPEN THE DOOR WHILE THE CAR WAS RUNNING THEN TURN OFF THE CAR AND COUNT TO 30 AND THAT SHOULD UNFREEZE THE CUE. THIS DID NOT WORK. I AM TOLD IT WILL COST ANYWHERE FROM $1200 TO $2500 TO FIX THE CUE AND OTHER CADILLAC OWNERS REPORTED IN FORUMS THAT THE FIX WILL EVENTUALLY STOP WORKING. ACCORDING TO THE FORUMS AND WHAT I COULD SEARCH THIS ISSUE HAS IMPACTED 2013 - 2016 MODELS. GM SHOULD PAY FOR THIS FIX AND THE FIX SHOULD BE PERMANENT. I LOVE THE SRX BUT WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER GM PRODUCT. THIS CUE SCREEN FREEZE IS WHILE IN PARK AND DRIVE. I TRY SENDING NAVIGATION FROM THE CADILLAC APP AND IT DOES RECOGNIZE RECEIVING THE MAP BUT WON'T LOAD OR GO TO NAVIGATION. WHEN I TOUCH THE HOME BUTTON IT WILL GO BACK TO THE MAIN SCREEN BUT THE FREEZE PREVENTS ANY CHANGES. I CANNOT USE THE NAVIGATION, SYNC THE TEMP OR MODIFY ANY SETTINGS. IT IS TOTALLY FROZEN.

THE BUILT-IN BACKUP CAMERA SOMETIMES FAILS TO WORK CORRECTLY. NORMALLY, THE BACKUP CAMERA IMAGE AND GUIDE APPEARS ON THE CENTER SCREEN A FEW SECONDS AFTER SHIFTING INTO REVERSE. HOWEVER, OCCASIONALLY THE VIDEO FEED FROM THE BACKUP CAMERA DOES NOT SHOW WHEN IN REVERSE. INSTEAD, THE DISPLAY IS A SOLID BRIGHT GREEN COLOR. THE BACKUP ANGLE GUIDES ARE STILL OVERLAID ON TOP OF THE GREEN IMAGE. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, THE BACKUP CAMERA WILL USUALLY WORK PROPERLY AGAIN. THE ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT. THE LACK OF A WORKING BACKUP CAMERA SEVERELY COMPROMISES VISIBILITY WHEN REVERSING.

I WAS ANGRY, DEALERSHIP HAD A "BUTTON" BUILT IN ON COMPUTER TO GET FINANCIAL CREDIT FROM GM, OBVIOUSLY THIS HAPPENS OFTEN. THE CREDIT WAS $800 AUTOMATICALLY,(WE THEN PAID NET $974. )I WANT ALL TO BE REPLACED AND CREDITED. I CALLED GM, THEY ALLEGEDLY CONTACTED CADILLAC AND THEY SAID WOULD NOT HELP US. GM SENIOR REP ADMITTED THIS IS A PROBLEM, HAPPENS OFTEN 2015 MODEL. THIS WAS OBVIOUSLY IS A RECALL ISSUE!. THEY WERE GOING TO CHARGE US $188 (DIAGNOSE) AND NOT FIX IT, OR $1774 TO REPLACE/PUT BACK TOGETHER. NO EXTERNAL FORCE INFLUENCED THIS. BY THE GRACE OF GOD I HAD JUST CLOSED MY SUN SHADE 20 MINUTES PRIOR TO THIS. I HAVE PHOTOS OF THE GLASS BREAKAGE AFTER I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY EXIT THE HIGHWAY A FEW MILES AWAY. THE GLASS SHOWS THAT IT BLEW UP AND OUT, NOT IN FROM AN IMPACT.

FIRST THING I NOTICED WAS ONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND AFTER PULLING OF THE ROAD AND COMING TO A STOP, I NOTICED A FIRE FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. I EXITED THE VEHICLE AND STILL ON THE PHONE WITH ONSTAR, MY CAR FULLY ENGULFED WITHIN 15 MINUTES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS ON SITE AFTER THE CAR WAS FULLY ENGULFED AND TOOK AN HOUR TO PUT OUT THE FLAMES. MY CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS. NO ONE KNOWS WHY IT CAUGHT FIRE, WHAT CAUSED IT.

WHEN PRESSED THE SERVICE MANGER ADMITTED IT IS NORMAL BUT ON THE EXTREME SIDE BUT REFUSES TO REMEDY THE SITUATION. I BELIEVE THE CAR IS UNSAFE AND SHOULD BE REPAIRED. GM CORPORATE HAS BEEN HAS BEEN CONTACTED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND IS UNCOOPERATIVE AND REFUSES TO RETURN ANY COMMUNICATION. WHEN ONE PAYS THE MONEY TO BUY A LUXURY VEHICLE, ONE EXPECTS PROBLEMS TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY AND REPAIRED.

THE ISSUE WAS REPORTED TO A DEALER IN VIRGINIA AND MICHIGAN. NOT MUCH ATTENTION OR IMPORTANCE WAS GIVEN.
