I purchased the car June 2025 ,The headlights go so dim that you can not see at night, I contacted Cadillac and they are only willing to give me $200. towards the $2000. repair it would cost even though the headlights used on the 2016 Cadillac SRX is the same ones that were recalled on the 2015. They said they have no more programs to help me fix this issues.
My lights are very dim as if they aren’t on.
Subject: Complaint Regarding Unsafe Headlight Design – 2016 Cadillac SRX To whom it may concern, We own a 2016 Cadillac SRX and are extremely concerned about the safety of the vehicle’s headlights. The low beams are so dim that we are unable to drive safely at night. When we resort to using the high beams, oncoming drivers frequently flash their lights at us, indicating that we are blinding them. Bottom line, car is unusable at night !!! A few years ago, I brought this issue to the attention of our local Cadillac service department. Unfortunately, I was told there was nothing they could do, despite acknowledging that the headlight design is a known problem. They quoted us over $1,600 for a repair, without offering any goodwill assistance or cost reduction — even though this is clearly a design flaw, not a wear-and-tear issue. This does not seem fair, especially considering our vehicle has only 71,749 miles on it — in todays standards, essentially like new for a luxury vehicle. We are disappointed that Cadillac has not taken responsibility for a safety issue that affects many drivers. We ask that Cadillac stand behind its product and work with us to resolve this issue in a reasonable and customer-friendly way. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] /// [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
we have a 2016 SRX AWD Cadillac and we can not drive at night, the head light is way to dim, and when placing on high beam - blind oncoming cars "AI info: If you can’t see well at night and your 2016 Cadillac SRX has factory HID headlights, there's a chance that faded lenses, worn bulbs, or a defective ballast is the issue—and GM/Cadillac may or may not cover it"

The headlights on my 2016 SRX Cadillac have extremely dim headlights. I can barely see in front of me at night. The drivers side light is especially dim. The only way I can see is if I drive with my highbeams on. When I’m driving with my regular lights on and a car is coming at me I feel blinded. I’m scared to drive at night. I fear that I’m going to hit something or someone. This has been going on for a while now and at first I thought I was imagining things, and perhaps it was my eyesight, but it’s absolutely not. I’ve read online countless accounts of other people with 2010-2016 Cadillac srx that have the exact same problem as me. I just took it into the mechanic to have him look at the headlights.
The headlights, when put in "dim/low beam" are almost non working. One can see the lights are working, but it is almost like driving blind. The dealership people know about the problem and stated that the heat on the lens cover, inside the headlight assembly causes that cover to warp, deform and will not permit adequate light to shine out. They then told me the assembly parts and labor would be over $3000. This issue is dangerous because on an unlighted street with no accompanying traffic to provide lighting, it is almost like having no headlights at all. The dealership and Cadillac know about the issue but refuse to do anything about the problem that is due to their own faulty manufacturing.
Low beam headlights are very dim, failing to illuminate the roadway, even with the brightest halogen bulbs available. creates a safety hazard as driver cannot sufficiently see the road ahead, especially when meeting an oncoming vehicle. In my vehicle it is worse on the driver's side, but both are extremely dim. Vehicle is unsafe to drive at night, creating hazardous situation for this vehicle as well as oncoming traffic. I purchased this vehicle used, as is, with no knowledge of headlight issues on this make/model vehicle.
Purchased a 2016 Cadillac SRX a few years ago as a used car. Noticed that the headlights were extremely dim. Brought it to a Cadillac dealership and asked them to investigate it. They mentioned that they had thought there was a recall at some point regarding the lights for these cars, but it may have expired. I checked with General Motors, and they did not find a recall for these headlights for the specific vehicle make/model. The dealership told me that I could have the lights replaced, but it would cost around $200 per light. Driving this vehicle at night poses a risk and a safety hazard for me as the driver, as I cannot see the road as well as I should be able to. I often have to drive with my bright lights on to see properly. This is a real concern of mine and wanted to ask if there is anything that your organization can do to assist me with the issue. Thank you.
I recently had to drive at night. The low beams are so dim you cannot drive. I have to drive with the high beams. The low beams are on, but not bright enough to drive. What is the fix for this. Thanks
RE: 2016 Cadilliac SRX Low Beam Headlights The low beam headlights on the vehicle are extremely dim. It makes it challenging turning onto a street or intersection which does not have its own lighting or another car in the opposite lane. Due to the low visibility, I am forced to excursive judgement to ensure you are in the correct lane. My passengers have even noticed it and had other people drive the car at night with me and they said the same. I purchased the with 36,497 miles. I did speak to Cadillac prior, they knew about the issue, told me I to take it to one of the auto parties, I would have to pay for the new assembly and then send it to them to be reimbursed. At the time the estimate was around 2,200. Due to this issue try not to drive at night, especially on streets with no lights. Have you all received a lot of complaints about this head light issue? Has a recall been issued?
The contact owns a 2016 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that the low-beam headlights did not provide proper illumination while driving. The contact stated that the low-beam headlights illuminated the roadway very dim, and the high-beam headlights worked as intended. As a result, the visibility of the roadway was impaired, and the high-beam headlights were needed to drive safely. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the headlight relay could be replaced; however, it might only be a temporary fix. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000. The VIN was not available.

The headlights on my 2016 Cadillac SRX are no-longer lighting up the road. It is not the bulb, they still work but they only light up a fraction of what they did in the past. The bights light up the road great but I can't drive with them on all the time. As I searched on the internet I see this is a common issue with the reflection material failing. It has been a know issue and a recall was never issued. I can not understand why a recall isn't issued due to the safety issues related to driving at night. Is this being considered for recall - if seems unfair to force me to pay to repair something that is know to be an issue and related to safety.
Subject: Urgent Safety Complaint - 2016 Cadillac SRX Headlight Performance National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) Vehicle Identification Number (VIN): [XXX] Dear National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, I am writing to submit a formal safety complaint regarding a critical issue with the headlights of my 2016 Cadillac SRX. My name is [XXX] , and I believe there may be a safety-related defect in the vehicle's design or manufacturing. Despite replacing the bulbs and personally funding a comprehensive cleaning and resurfacing of the headlight covers, the performance of the headlights has significantly deteriorated. Through extensive research, I have found that numerous owners share similar concerns, indicating a potential widespread issue that may be linked to a manufacturing defect. This matter is of great concern, especially considering the safety implications associated with diminished visibility during nighttime driving. The reflective surfaces within the headlight housing appear to be degrading, affecting not only my vehicle but potentially posing a safety risk to other owners of the 2016 Cadillac SRX. As a responsible consumer and a parent of a 15-month-old child, my top priority is the safety of my family. Nighttime driving has become increasingly worrisome due to the compromised visibility, prompting me to bring this matter to the attention of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for further investigation. I kindly request the NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation to thoroughly review this safety complaint and take appropriate actions to ensure the safety of all affected consumers. I have included my contact information and relevant vehicle details for your reference. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I trust that the NHTSA will undertake the necessary steps to investigate and address this potential safety issue promptly. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (F
Head lights are very dim. When I took a vacation through Arizona and parts of Southern California where street lights were not present it was very hard and unsafe to see where I was going due to lights being so dim. Estimate to replace was so out of my budget. Don’t know what to do. Please help
The headlights in low beam mode no longer are bright enough to safely see or be properly seen at night. This problem is documented by many owners of this same vehicle and similar cadillac vehicles, and many videos are available on Youtube documenting this as a fact as a frequent problem by all owners. It is being ignored and needs to be addressed. There is apparently even a class action lawsuit for the 2016 SRX. A video exists that shows the problem is the inside reflective material is being burned out due to heat of the bulbs making the surface no longer reflective. Drivers end up keeping high beams on at all times which blinds other drivers and this can lead to many vehicle accidents with property damage, injury and deaths. There needs to be a recall and replacement of the entire housing and then use low heat LED bulbs or a new type reflective surface inside that will not degrade as is commonly happening. The vehicle was in this condition when I first purchased it used. I was unaware for a long time due to not driving it at night. I have now had to drive several times at night and found it to be very unsafe to use because of the headlight problems. I researched and easily found hundreds of the same complaint. How about actually do something about this and not just ignore it before someone you personally care about gets hurt because of an accident. I will be contacting the dealership but doubt they will do anything. No one wants to accept responsibilty because of the costs, but the cost of ignoring it can be very high.
Regular headlights are too dim to be seen at night and it’s verry dangerous to drive at night even after replaceing the a brighter light also happends on Cadillac ats from 2018
The contact owns a 2016 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated while driving at night she was unable to see the roadway due to the headlights not providing adequate illumination. The contact stated the TPMS warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that she used the high-beam headlights to continue driving. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and was informed that no failure was found with the headlights. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2016 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that the headlights were dim while driving at night. The contact stated that the failure obstructed her vision while driving at night. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer where the failure was acknowledged; however, the vehicle was not under recall or warranty. The contact was provided an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage approximately 50,000.

Normal headlight illumination is insufficient and dangerous to see safely ahead. I must always use bright lights to see
Headlamp are so dim due to condensation that it’s so dangerous to drive at night
This issue involves our headlights or lack of lights. Driving the car at night on a dark expressway revealed a frightening issue. Our dim lights were so weak we couldn’t see 10 feet in front of us. We had to use our brights the entire way and took the car to be checked a few days later. We then found out Cadillac had settled a lawsuit regarding faulty lights with SRX models through 2015. They knew the 2016 models had the same lights but chose to play Russian Roulette with it’s “valued 2016 customers” . The only option we had was to spend $2,000+/- for lights (again the same lights were used) if we want to drive at night. These lights should have been recalled but Cadillac let us swing in the wind and makes us pay for their FAULTY lights. Not even an offer to split the cost for lights that will go bad again since they are the same flawed design. Definitely a safety issue and an accident waiting to happen.
My 2016 Cadillac SRX has faulty just like the rest of the 2010 to the 2015 Cadillac SRXs front headlight assemblies that you cannot see at night and then they eventually just die out because of moisture getting in I've had to replace mine and it's cost me $2,400 to replace them GM is very well aware of this issue this is a dangerous situation people cannot drive at night we cannot drive during inclemented weather. Barely can drive with your brights on this is a dangerous dangerous situation. Should have a recall GM is very well aware of the faulty lights that are installed in these vehicles. The situation started in September of 2020.
The contact owns a 2016 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the roadway became difficult to see. The contact stated that upon inspection, he noticed condensation inside the headlamp housings. As a result, the headlights became foggy. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in a recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

The headlights are very dim. i cannot see at night without using my bright lights. This a safety issues because I cannot see and other cars cannot see me. On 12-28-21 I took the car to Jim Hudson dealership. The diagnose was both headlights are very dim. Reflective silver coating within headlamp assemblies has faded. Will require 2 new assemblies. This is my second 2016 SRX and I had the exact same problem with the headlights. I believe this is a manufacturer issue.
The headlights are bad. Water gets in. A class action suit dismissed this defect that was also in previous years. This should be a recall. We are going to have to replace the headlights on our car because we can barely see at night.
Headlights The normal beam headlights are extremely dim, unable to operate the vehicle on the roadway at night. I had the bulbs replaced at an expense of $300 for parts and labor, which did not rectify the issue. The beams remain extremely dim, which is due to the faulty headlight assembly. GM has never acknowledge this issue after 1000's of complaints. GM did refund some owners of SRX 2010-2015 models for replacing the headlight assemblies, but failed to provide any resolution for owners of the 2016 - present models. If the vehicle must be operated at night, the only way to safety proceed is with the high beams, which doesn't provide for a safe environment for the other vehicles on the roadway. This must be addressed by GM, as people are risking their lives and the lives of others on the roadway. There were no prior warnings or indications of headlight failure. I first noticed this issue in 2021 and have been attempting to resolve it with GM since. GM comes across as it is not their problem and that I should get my headlights replaced at my own expense. What they don't understand is the replacement will be the same faulty make/model of the headlight assemblies I have today.
The low beams have gotten so dim that driving at night has become hazardous. Both the passenger and driver side lights are dim but the passenger side is the worst. The problem is internal to the headlamp assembly. Cleaning the outer lens has no effect. The high beams function fine but we can't drive with the high beams all of the time because they blind oncoming drivers. When the lights switch back to low beams, it is almost like switching the lights completely off.
The head lights aren’t working properly ,it’s so damped that I can’t see at night time, Dealer said there is no thing we can do . I can’t put my family at risk of crash or hitting something that I didn’t see because of the light was very low. Please help.
Low beam headlights are so dim it is unsafe to drive at night.
We have had an ongoing problem with our headlights dimming and getting worse and worse. The dealers tell us there's nothing they can do to test the headlight. They can sure tell if they drive it at night. It's so unsafe to drive at night that when we do we must use our high beams and in doing so, oncoming traffic flash their lights at us. It's so bad, I am afraid to drive and night and now won't and will only allow my husband too. This headlight issue has been an ongoing problem with Cadillac where they issued a recall, but for some reason didn't include the 2016 models in that recall. A case advisor offered us $500 towards the $2,000 repair and stated if there ever is a recall they would refund us what we paid. This is unacceptable. They know there's a problem and they don't take responsibility.
Purchased a 2016 Cadillac SRX Luxury Edition used with 60,000 miles. First time driving at night, I noticed headlights on dim were very dim. Barely could see the roadway unless lights were on bright. I done some research on issue and found that it seems to be a common problem with this model from 2010 to 2016 year model. Cadillac has known of the problem, but has not thoroughly done any action to correct the problem.
Extremely dim low beam headlights. I can’t see to drive it at night on the low beams. The high beams still work, but blind oncoming traffic. This puts me and other drivers at risk. It is available for inspection. This issue started 6 months ago. This seems to be a serious problem with several years of this make and model.
I bought this car in 2020 and my first night of being out at night I COULD NOT SEE 2 feet in front of me. I was darn near ran off the road. Supposed all recalls were done on my car--NOT!!!!!!This is serious stuff and I'm seeing on a Cadillac forum all the outcries and the extreme costs people are paying. PLEASE PLEASE Do something-ALSO BE SURE SO CALLED RECALLS ARE DONE!!!!
Headlights have become so dim over the last year that I can longer see more than 10 ft in front of my car at night. There is a known headlight problem that Cadillac will not recall or offer a solution to. The dim headlights are very dangerous and will certainly result in fatal accidents.
HEADLIGHTS: It is available for inspection upon request. There have been no accident so far, however you cannot drive at night due to low beam of headlights are so very dim that it is an absolute hazard to be out on the road and deal with oncoming vehicles because you cant see. When asking a dealer representative about my headlight issue, he stated it would cost around $1500, as these were very expensive headlights and would take several days to get them in. Another person told me it would only last a few days, if replaced and then the same issue would occur. It seemed to be dimming all of a sudden, happened on the way home from church 1 month ago, as my husband and I were returning home. They both are still very dim and I think for the price we paid for our New Vehicle in 2017, we should not be having this conversation. Cadillac dealership told us it would cost $1500 for headlights. No warning lamps or messages occurred.
Due to the deterioration of the headlight assembly and the reflectors, my headlights do not give me enough light to safely see after dark without using the bright lights. I have to drive with them on bright all the time, even in oncoming traffic, or risk incident or accident. To date I have experienced only minor, thankfully, incident. I have missed turns and even missed the road and drove off the roadway when making turns off the main road. I have not sustained damage and was lucky that there was no traffic following closely as I have, in several instances, had to stop abruptly to avoid damaging my vehicle. I also very narrowly missed seeing a person walking along the side of the road where no sidewalk was available because the dim lights did not fall on the person. I took the vehicle to Cadillac of Knoxville today, Jan.13, 2022, and was told that even brighter light bulbs will not help. They wanted to charge me $2280.00 plus tax to replace the headlight assembly that Cadillac is aware of the deterioration. This vehicle has only 57,701 miles on it, it is an upscale vehicle, yet I cannot safely drive it after dark. Cadillac needs to be held responsible for replacing the headlight assembly. I see there are many of the same complaint here and this needs correcting before someone is seriously injured or killed.
JUST INFORMED BY MY DEALERSHIP WHILE WORKING ON RECALL , THAT MY HEADLIGHTS ARE DEFECTIVE AND NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF 2400.00. IF NOT DONE MY CAR WILL NOT PAST INSPECTION DUE FEB 2022
The low beam lights on our 2016 Cadillac SRX are extremely dim and very dangerous to drive at night. This is a know issue and there have been numerous class action Law suits regarding the issue. P.lease help to make my wife's commute to work safer Thanks
The contact owns a 2016 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while driving at night at various speeds, the headlights were extremely dim, causing the contact to not see the road clearly. The contact mentioned that the hi-beam was used to see the road while driving at night. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the headlamp assemblies needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.
Mileage: 90,000
At night, headlights do not come on. Only daytime running lights come on. You cannot see properly without headlights.
After purchasing our 2016 Cadillac SRX we began to notice the head lites were becoming dimmer over time and now to a point that we are unable to drive at nite and need to put high beams on if subjected to nite driving .This creates a blinding hazard for oncoming vehicles. After several attempts of replacing bulbs to improve condition of lites I began to investigate and found that there is a recall for other year models of Cadillac SRX but 2016 is not included. This issue is widespread and undoubtedly will cause accidents and possibly death to motorist. Cadilac is aware of this issue and has yet to recall these vehicles to repair obvious and known issues.
Headlights are too dim. Known issue in this car.

The headlights are very dim causing safety driving issues at night. I first noticed driving at night returning from a trip to Arkansas driving on poorly lit highways
These headlights have turn so dim its dangerous to drive at night. Its the lens inside that s deteriorating and nothing to do with the bulb. The dealer wants around 1500 to replace. This is a common problem with this vehicle. Cadillac offered only 50% of the repair but when i took it back to the dealer for service I got the run around again even though I had a reference number. Many people will not spend this large amount and it should be recalled. At night I must use the high beams to be safe but that annoys and is not safe to other drivers.
The headlights are extremely dim cannot drive the vehicle at night. If I do use at night I have to use the high beams. Seems to be a know problem with Cadillac SRX. I was told by dealer they would have to replace both headlight assemblies to fix this problem at a cost of over 2000 dollars.
I am concerned with the lack of visibility that my low-beams provide. I live in a semi-rural area, where the streets are not well-lit, there are no curbs, and people walk along the edge of the street after dark. I contacted both Cadillac AND my dealer, and they both told me that it’s possible that the deal has eroded and caused dimming. I was told there was a class action suit that addressed this issue, but it expired before I purchased my car, and I was NOT made aware of it. I believe that Cadillac and Flow Cadillac of Greensboro are responsible, and I would like this remedied as soon as possible. I’m 66 years old, limited income, are am paying dearly for a car that I’m scared to drive at night. I did not realize this last fall/winter, as my nephew was borrowing my car, while his was in the shop (I drove my friends Lexus for the winter). Prior to owning this 2016 SRX, I had a 2007 Buick Rendezvous, with MUCH BETTER VISIBILITY AT NIGHT, and have a difficult time believing the the technology has regressed and Cadillac will not stand behind their product. Please help me. I don’t know what to do. They told me to replace the headlight system would be about $3400.
The contact owns a 2016 Cadillac SRX. headlamps are very dim unable to see clearly at night and when raining
Headlights are very dim and I cannot see at night. Cadillac refused to provide financial assistance.

The headlights are not bright enough they've never been bright enough it's almost like you don't have any headlights at night time if it's dark out. I even change them out once and it's like there wasn't enough power to them to make them bright. I have not very good Vision at night and I can't even really drive the car at night unless it's in the city. A couple of people I have told me they had the same problem with the headlights and even the guy at the auto place told me that his wife had the same car and he changed her headlights and it was still bad so he changed them back and that's exactly what I did. Hardly usable at all at night I wish there was something they could do or find out if there is a flaw in the design because everyone I've talked to that has this year and type of car says the same exact thing and no one has given me any resolution on what they did they just lived with it. I love the car 100% in every other way but the headlights are a incredible Factor for night driving and since I do live somewhat in the country I always have to take the other vehicle at night time.
HEADLIGHTS WHEN ON DIM DO NOT LIGHT UP THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT UNLESS YOU DRIVE WITH THE HIGH BEAMS ON WHICH OF COURSE INFURIATES ONCOMING TRAFFIC. IF YOU LOOK ON THE INTERNET, YOU WILL FIND THAT MOST CADILLAC SRX FROM 2010 THROUGH 2016 HAVE THIS PROBLEM, YET NO RECALL. WHY?
THE LOW BEAMS ON MY 2016 CADILLAC ARE EXTREMELY DIM AND UNSAFE FOR NIGHT DRIVING. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR SEVERAL YEARS. IT IS A LUXURY MODEL WITH NO FOG LIGHTS. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE THE CORRECTED BY GM/CADILLAC AND NOT THE OWNER. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE REPAIR AND IS CAUSING SERIOUS ISSUES WITH MANY SRX OWNERS. PREVIOUS YEARS ARE COVERED BY A RECALL, FOR SOME REASON THIS IS NOT.

MY HEAD LIGHTS DON'T WORK GOOD AT ALL AND I HAVE GOT STOPPED BY POLICE SEVERAL TIMES AN GOT A TICKET FOR BRIGHT LIGHTING AND STOPPED FOR DRIVING WITH NO LIGHTS ON WHEN I HAD DEM ON BUT THE POLICE COULDN'T EVEN TELL I HAD ANY ON AND I HAVE CALLED CADILLAC ON MANY OCCASIONS AND ALL THEY SAY IS THEY CAN'T FIX THEM UNDER A RECALL THAT I WILL HAVE TO PAY 3000 TO $3500 TO HAVE THEM FIXED, SAID THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY NOT JUST LIGHTS AND I THINK THIS IS VERY MUCH A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN I CAN'T SEE AT NIGHT WITH LIGHTS ON DIM AND I AM TIRED OF GETTING TICKETS FOR THE LIGHTS BEING ON BRIGHT SND WHEN YOU PAY OVER $45 THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR A VEHICLE YOU WOULD THINK CADILLAC WOULD FIX IT AND IT WOULD BE THERE RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY FOR IT

GRADUAL DIMMING OF HEADLIGHT LOW BEAMS OVER TIME, MAKING THEM COMPLETELY USELESS & UNSAFE AT NIGHT. MUST DRIVE USING HIGH BEAMS AT ALL TIMES. SAFETY HAZARD. (SAME ISSUE AS GM 2010-15 MODEL LITIGATION). REQUIRED TO REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY $2200. CONTACTED GM, WHO CONFIRMED THERE IS NOT YET A RECALL OR LAWSUIT TO REIMBURSE FOR 2016 OR LATER MODEL REPAIRS FOR THE SAME KNOWN HEADLIGHT FAILURE AS EARLIER MODELS.
LIGHTING ASSEMBLY ON THIS VEHICLE CAUSES VERY DIM LIGHTING THAT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. I HAVE TO LIMIT MY DRIVING TO DAYLIGHT HOURS ONLY AS A FULL-TIME UBER DRIVER WHICH PLACES RESTRICTIONS ON MY EARNINGS. I ALSO AM UNABLE TO LIST THIS VEHICLE ON TURO FOR RENTAL BECAUSE IT WOULD BE UNSAFE FOR RENTAL DRIVERS. THEIR IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY CAUSING THE DIM LIGHTING IN THESE VEHICLES.
Mileage: 45,000
I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR AT NIGHT BECAUSE THE HEADLIGHTS ARE TOO DIM. WE RECENTLY REPLACED THE LIGHTBULBS, BUT THIS DID NOT HELP.
Mileage: 75,000
THERE HAS BEEN A GRADUAL DECREASE IN THE BRIGHTNESS OF THE LOW BEAMS ON THIS VEHICLE. MY WIFE IS THE PRIMARY DRIVER OF IT AND DOESN'T DRIVE IT TOO MUCH AT NIGHT, BUT I WAS DRIVING IT RECENTLY AND NOTICED HOW POOR THE LIGHTING IS AT NIGHT, IN PARTICULAR ON WET ROADS. IT IS TO THE POINT THAT VISIBILITY IS NOT THAT FAR IN FRONT. IF A PERSON OR ANIMAL WAS ON THE ROAD, IT PROBABLY WOULDN'T BE SEEN UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS ALMOST UPON IT. HIGH BEAMS ARE NOT A PROBLEM. THERE IS NO PARTICULAR MOMENT THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED - IT'S BEEN OVER TIME. FROM INTERNET RESEARCH, THIS APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH SRX'S.
Mileage: 98,000
STANDARD HEADLIGHTS NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH TO SEE AT NIGHT. NEED TO USE HIGH BEAMS
Mileage: 105,500
THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE TERRIBLE, HAVE REPLACED BULBS, BUT STILL CAN HARDLY SEE HIGHWAY THIS MAKES IT VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AT NIGHT. GM SHOULD RECALL TO FIX THE ISSUE.
Mileage: 60,000
MY HEADLIGHTS KEEP GETTING DIMMER AND DIMMER AS TIME GOES ON. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 40,000 MILES, BUT I STARTED NOTICING AT LEAST 5,000 MILES AGO THAT WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT NIGHT THAT IT APPEARED AS IF I BARELY HAD ANY HEADLIGHTS SHINING IN FRONT OF ME. I WOULD TURN THEM OFF AND ON AGAIN, THINKING THEY WERE OFF BUT COULD BARELY TELL THE DIFFERENCE. WHEN I TURN CORNERS, I COULDN'T SEE WHERE THE ROAD WAS OR CURBS AND HAD TO ROLL DOWN MY DRIVERS AND/OR PASSENGER WINDOWS TO SEE WHERE I WAS GOING AND TO AVOID MISSING ROAD OR HITTING SOMETHING. I DID A LITTLE RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR 2010-2015 SRX HEADLIGHTS WITH THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM - UPWARDS OF 300,000 VEHICLES INVOLVED. CADILLAC AGREED TO REPLACE THOSE HEADLIGHTS, BUT USED THE EXACT SAME TYPE OF HEADLIGHT FOR THE REPLACEMENTS AND PEOPLE ARE AGAIN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM...... LIGHTS DIMMING OVER TIME. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE AT NIGHT NOW AS IT HAS GOTTEN SO BAD THAT I FEEL MY LIFE IS IN DANGER. I DON'T WANT TO DRIVE WITH BRIGHT LIGHTS ON ALL THE TIME AS THAT BLINDS ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND CREATES ANOTHER HAZARD. HTTPS://CADILLACSOCIETY.COM/2020/03/10/OWNERS-CONTINUE-TO-STRUGGLE-WITH-CADILLAC-SRX-HEADLIGHTS/ I BOUGHT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND WAS TOLD IT WAS BUMPER TO BUMPER BUT LO AND BEHOLD, IT DOESN'T COVER HEADLIGHTS WHICH I WAS TOLD BY CADILLAC DEALER THAT THEY WERE $900 APIECE.
MY 2016 SRX CADILLAC. THE FRONT HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT I CAN NOT DRIVE AT NIGHT. IT'S NOT SAFE. I CAN NOT SEE AT ALL ON THE ROAD AT NIGHT. I READ THERE WAS A SETTLEMENT AND A REIMBURSEMENT OVER THIS BUT THAT I MISSED THE DEADLINE FOR IT. I NEVER KNEW OR RECEIVED ANYTHING IN THE MAIL ABOUT THIS SAFETY ISSUE THAT WAS HAPPENING TO CALL SRX CADILLACS. NOT JUST MINE
MY CAR IS LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD AND THE HEADLIGHTS ARE DIM.
Mileage: 130,000
THERE HAS BEEN A GRADUAL DIMMING OF THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE SINCE I PURCHASED IT. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT AT TIMES THEY ARE OF NO VALUE. THIS HAS CREATED A SERIOUS SITUATION, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT IN THE RAIN. IT CREATES CRITICAL PERIODS WHEN I MUST USE THE BRIGHT LIGHTS IN TRAFFIC JUST TO SEE THE ROADWAY. THIS APPEARS TO BE A CONTIUING ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL AS I HAVE READ ABOUT SIMILAR DEFECTS AND POSSIBLE REMEIDIES.
Mileage: 71,500
HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM UNTIL HIGH BEAMS HAVE TO BE USE IN ORDER TO SEE. LOW BEAM APPEARS LIKE YOU DON'T HAVE ANY LIGHTS ON OR MAYBE PARK LIGHTS. UNSAFE BECAUSE OTHER VEHICLES CAN'T SEE YOU WITH LOW BEAM ON AND YOU CAN'T SEE. DRIVER SEAT MOTOR WENT OUT MAKING IT COMPLICATED TO REACH THE EXCELERATOR AND BRAKE. ON THE LUMBAR PART WORKS. ALL OF THIS IS WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE DIM AND PER DEALERSHIP NEED TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH CADILLAC. THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FIR THIS ISSUE. THE CUE TOUCH SYSTEM BUTTON'S ON THE CENTER ARE NOT RESPONDING/LOCKED. I AM NOT ABLE TO USE GPS, CHANGE THE TIME OR ANY OF THE SETTINGS ON THE MENU. THIS IS ALSO A WELL KNOWN ISSUE AND HAS HAD A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED ME THAT THE RAIL CONTROL ASSEMBLY AND THE BOTH FROMT HEADLAMPS NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE TOTAL COST OF REPAIRS IS $3,126.95. BOTH IS THESE ARE SAFETY CONCERNS. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT I CANNOT SEE PROPERLY TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE DIM AND FAILED TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE LIGHTING WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MOSES CADILLAC BUICK GMC TRUCK INC (1406 WASHINGTON ST E, CHARLESTON, WV 25301) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WEATHER SEALS IN THE HEADLIGHT HOUSINGS ALLOWED MOISTURE TO ENTER THE LIGHTS AND CORRODED THE REFLECTORS. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 94,000.

THE LOW BEAMS ON MY 2016 CADILLAC ARE EXTREMELY DIM AND UNSAFE FOR NIGHT DRIVING.
Mileage: 45,000
WE ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE HEADLIGHTS. THERE IS GOING TO BE A PROBLEM WHEN SOMEONE IS KILLED. I DON'T UNDERSTAND BY CADALLIC WON'T FIX THE PROBLEM THEY REPLACE THE LIGHTS ON 2000 THRU 2015 BUT NOT THE 2016. I HAVE INSTRUCTED MY CHILDREN TO FILE SUIT WITH CADILLAC IF SOMETHING SHOULD HAPPEN TO MY HUSBAND AND I IN A CAR WRECK OR SOMEONE HURTING ME CAUSE MY BRIGHTS ARE ON. I HAVE WROTE A LETTER TO CADILLAC SO THEY HAVE ONE ON FILE.
GMC KNOWN PROBLEM. LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS TOO DIM TO DRIVE SAFELY DURING HOURS OF DARKNESS. GM IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM STARTING WITH APPROXIMATELY 2010 YEAR MODEL. GM DID NOT CONTACT OWNERS AND IN FACT WE RECEIVED NO NOTICE OF THIS OBVIOUS SAFETY DEFECT EVEN THOUGH GM HAS BEEN AWARE OF IT FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, THERE HAS BEEN NUMEROUS LAWSUITS AND REPORTS AND SEVERAL ACCIDENTS ATTRIBUTED TO THE DEFECTIVE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. THE HEADLIGHT SYSTEM IS COVERED BY DOT REGULATIONS AND AS SUCH I AM REQUESTING A FORMAL INVESTIGATION AND PUNITIVE ACTION REGARDING OUR 2016 CADILLAC SRX. AGAIN I WILL RESTATE THAT WE WERE NOT CONTACTED ABOUT A KNOWN DANGEROUS DEFECT IN THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. GM IS ALSO INSISTING THAT OWNERS PAY UP FRONT FOR REPAIRS AND SUBMIT DOCUMENTATION FOR REIMBURSEMENT WHILE ALSO IMPOSING UNREASONABLE TIME LIMITS AND CUTOFF DATES. THIS IS A DOT SAFETY ISSUE. PLEASE ADDRSS IT AS SUCH. THANK YOU.

THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE BECOME DIM AND IT IS VERY HARD TO SEE AT NIGHT. GM KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM BUT THEY HAVE NOT ISSUED A RECALL. BOTH HEAD LAMP ASSEMBLIES NEED TO BE REPLACED ON MY 2016 SRX AT A COST OF $1700+. IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE THIS CAR AT NIGHT
THE LOWBEAMS OF MY HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM I CANNOT DRIVE AT NIGHT. DON'T FEEL SAFE AT ALL. TOOK TO A DEALER AND THEY WANTED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY AT MY EXPENSE WHICH IS $2K. I WAS TOLD REPLACING THE BULB WILL NOT FIX SITUATION AS IT IS THE HOUSING THAT IS FAULTY.
HEADLIGHTS ARE DIM MAKING IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. HAVING TO USE HIGHBEAMS TO DRIVE. VERY UNSAFE. THESE VEHICLES SHOULD BE RECALLED FOR LIGHTING. HAS BEEN LIKE THIS FOR A WHILE.
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM IT MAKES IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT WITHOUT THE HIGH BEAMS ON. I HAVE COMPLAINED AND COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS. IT IS A MANUFACTURED DEFECT BUT THEY WANT 1500.00 TO FIX IT!*TR*JB
Mileage: 65,000
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE DIM AT NIGHT AND ALMOST TRANSLUCENT DURING THE DAY. I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS NO RECALL AT THIS TIME BUT THE HEADLIGHTS ARE A SAFETY ISSUE. NOT ONLY IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE IS A COSTLY ONE AT THAT WHICH THE OWNER HAS TO FOOT THE BILL WHICH IS BAD BUSINESS AND DECEIVING THE CADILLAC OWNERS. THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO BECAUSE APPERANTLY I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS ISSUE AND GM SHOULD MAKE GOOD ON THIS DEFECT AND SHOW PROPER CUSTOMER SERVICE TO ALL OWNERS.
Mileage: 28,000
ON LIGHTS THEY ARE VERY DIM, MAKEING IT A RIST TO DRIVE AT NIGHT, SAFTY. ON BRAKE MAKES A SQUEEL WHEN APPLYING, HAD IT IN TO SERVICE SEVERAL TIMES ,THEY SAY NOTHING IS WRONGWITH IT. CADALICS SHOULD NOT MAKE NOISE LIKE THAT MAKES POEPLE LOOK AT CAR LIKE SOMETHINGS WRONG WITH IT,WHICH IT IS.
THE HEADLAMPS ON THE 2016 SRX HAVE A DESIGN DEFECT. THE LENS ON THE LOW BEAMS CLOUD OVER AND DIMINISH THE LIGHT TO THE POINT THAT THE VEHICLE IS USABLE AT NIGHT ONLY WITH HIGH BEAMS ON ALL THE TIME. CADILLAC REPORTS THAT BRAND NEW LENS' ONLY LAST 1 TO THREE YEARS. THE COST TO REPLACE IS APPROXIMATELY $1600 . THIS IS A RECURRING COST AND CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD .
Mileage: 44,000
DIM HEADLIGHTS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. COSTLY $4000.00 REPAIR.
DIM LIGHTS ARE NOT SUFFICIENT TO SEE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. WE HAVE TO USE THE HIGH BEAM IN ORDER TO SEE ANYTHING IN THE ROAD AND PUT ON DIM WHEN CARS ARE APPROACHING . THIS SITUATION SHOULD BE A RECALL FROM GENERAL MOTORS. THIS HAS NOT BEEN PROPERLY ADDRESSED. TALKING WITH OTHER OWNERS THE COMPLAINT IS ONGOING AND RESULTS IN COSTLY REPAIRS WITHOUT GOOD RESULTS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE DIM, WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO SEE WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. FIELDS CADILLAC ST. AUGUSTINE (904-823-3000, LOCATED AT 375 OUTLET MALL BLVD, ST. AUGUSTINE, FL 32084) WAS CONTACTED BY PHONE AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 54,000.

THE LIGHTS HAVE BEEN SO DIM SINCE THE DAY THAT I BOUGHT THE CAR IN MARCH 2019. I SPOKE TO CADILLAC AFTER I NOTICED THE ISSUE AND THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF BUT THAT THE RECALL WAS ONLY 90 DAYS. SHE SAID THAT GENERAL MOTORS WOULD PAY $700 OF THE PURCHASE OF A NEW LIGHT CASING $1600 BUT CADILLAC STATED THAT THE LIGHTING IS A BAD PRODUCT NOT ANY FAULT OF THE OWNER SO THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD COVER THE WHOLE COST TO THE OWNER OF EVERY SRX OF THIS MODEL. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. ITS SO VERY DANGEROUS. PLEASE HELP. THERE ARE SEVERAL WEBSITES BACKING UP THE ISSUE WITH THESE HEADLIGHTS. LAWSUITS AND SO FORTH. PLEASE HOLD GM RESPONSIBLE FOR PUTTING VEHICLES ON THE ROAD WITH KNOWN ISSUES AND NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE HEADLIGHTS SWITCHED FROM HIGH TO LOW BEAMS INDEPENDENTLY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING, LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS, ARE TOO DIM TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. DANGEROUS HAZARD
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS VERY DIM. DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT.
SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR. THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY VEHICLE HAVE BEGUN GETTING DIMMER AND DIMMER. NONE OF THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE BLOWN OUT BUT ITS VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE AT NIGHT.
EXTERIOR LIGHTING: THE HEAD LIGHT LOW BEAMS ON THIS VEHICLE ARE INFERIOR AND A SAFETY HAZARD. THEY DO NOT ILLUMINATE FAR ENOUGH IN FRONT OF THE CAR AND ARE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH. I HAVE HIT SEVERAL CURBS AT NIGHT JUST BECAUSE YOU JUST CAN'T SEE THEM GOING AROUND CURBS OR AT INTERSECTIONS WITH THE LIGHTS ON THIS SUV. TALKED TO DEALER ABOUT REPLACEMENT WITH AUTO PART STORE HEADLAMPS, AND THE RESPONSE WAS IT WOULD VOID WARRANTY ON THE HEAD LIGHTS (BREAK THE SEAL) AND WOULD COST SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS. AND WOULD NOT IMPROVE THE LIGHTING. LIKE OTHERS, I DRIVE WITH MY HIGH BEAMS ON, EVEN IN THE CITY SO I CAN SEE PEDESTRIANS AND CURBS. GM SHOULD RECALL THESE HEADLAMPS AND REPLACE FOR FREE BEFORE PEOPLE START GETTING KILLED.
Mileage: 15,000
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ACTIVATED, THE CONTACT HAD DIFFICULTY SEEING THE ROAD AHEAD. TOM KELLEY CADILLAC (811 AVE OF AUTOS, FORT WAYNE, IN 46804) WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.

WE ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH THE LOW BEAM HEAD LAMPS. THEY ARE NOT SAFE!! WE HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS FOR HELP, ONLY TO GET A "IT'S NOT OUR PROBLEM" RESPONSE. GM IS SURELY AWARE, AS A SEARCH FOR HELP WITH THE ISSUE POPS UP MANY COMPLAINTS AND POSSIBLE CLASS ACTION LAW SUITS CURRENTLY IN THE WORKS. WHAT BRINGS ME HERE NOW IS, MY WIFE RECENTLY DONE SOME SERIOUS DAMAGE TO THE CAR AND MINOR PERSONAL INJURY WHEN SHE HIT AN OBJECT IN THE ROAD THAT COULD HAVE AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF SHE COULD HAVE SEEN IT!! WE ARE JUST THANKFUL THIS WAS NOT A PERSON. I WOULD GLADLY TESTIFY THAT THIS COULD ACTUALLY BE A POSSIBILITY IF SOMETHING IS NOT DONE WITH THESE LIGHTS. WE WERE TOLD WE COULD REPLACE WITH THE SAME LIGHT, AT OUR COST (APPX. $1500.00) WHICH I'M SURE WOULD SOON HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. WHICH SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM AT ALL WITH A TWO YEAR OLD $50,000.00 CAR. PLEASE HELP US AND ALL THE OTHERS WITH CORRECTING THIS, BEFORE SOMETHING REALLY BAD OR DEADLY HAPPENS, IF IT HASN'T ALREADY. WE HAVE TALKED TO SEVERAL FRIENDS IN OUR HOME TOWN WITH THE SAME CAR WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.
Mileage: 55,000
FRONT BEAM LIGHTS ARE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH, THIS CREATED AN UNSAFE CONDITION. I HAD TO USE THE HIGHEST BEAM DURING NIGHT DRIVING IN ORDER TO SEE THE ROAD. HOWEVER, WHEN THE HIGHEST BEAM WAS USED, IT BLIND THE DRIVER IN FRONT OF ME OR BLIND THE DRIVER COMING IN THE OPPOSITE . THIS PROBLEM IS IMPERATIVE AND SHOULD BE CORRECTED BEFORE AN ACCIDENT OCCURS!!
THE LOW BEAM (DIM LIGHTS) ARE HORRIBLE. I ALMOST HIT A MAN WALKING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD LAST NIGHT. YOU CANNOT SEE 30' IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WHEN LIGHTS ARE ON DIM. YOU HAVE TO DRIVE WITH THE HIGH BEAMS ON. THE HIGH BEAM WORKS GREAT, BUT VEHICLES COMING AT YOU ARE GETTING BLINDED BY YOUR HIGH BEAMS. YOU SWITCH TO LOW BEAM, THEN YOU CANNOT SEE! I HAVE SEEN ALL THE COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET. I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS ISSUE HASN'T BEEN RECALLED. SHAME ON THE GOVERNMENT FOR NOT FIXING THIS SAFETY ISSUE.
