I am reporting a serious safety issue with my vehicle, purchased from Ed Morse Cadillac. The vehicle has unexpectedly shut off while I was driving on multiple occasions (3 times to date). When this occurs, the entire infotainment and dashboard screen goes completely black, and most alarmingly, the brakes become unresponsive or extremely difficult to engage. This creates a highly dangerous situation where I am unable to control or stop the vehicle safely, putting myself and others at serious risk of a crash or injury. This is not a one-time occurrence—it has happened multiple times under normal driving conditions. I have contacted the dealership, but they have ignored my attempts to resolve the issue. This problem clearly involves critical vehicle systems and should be investigated as a potential defect. I am requesting that the NHTSA open an investigation into this issue, as this vehicle poses a danger to public safety.

While driving the car rapidly decelerated along with loss to steering control.The engine essentially shutdown and would not accelerate past 30 MPH with full force. Oil temperature was 280/300 and rising. Warnings came on the car stating service all wheel drive system,service safety restraint as airbags will not deploy, service transmission, service power steering along with the check engine light.I could not maneuver the car nor was the car drivable.Car was towed as it could not be driven.Car put myself and others at extreme risk.If I was on a highway myself or others would have been killed.Car was bought on [XXX].Incident occurred on [XXX]. Car was towed to Bergeys Cadillac Dealership in Plymouth Meeting PA and dealership proceeded to say nothing is wrong with the car.There is a class action suit against this exact issue with the same car and engine and dealership failed to acknowledge the issue and failed to let me return the car.Dealership has continued to say nothing is wrong with the vehicle. This is my second Cadillac XT 4 in two years and both have experienced the same thing. As I'm driving and come to a light to stop, the entire vehicle system goes black and cuts off. This has happened to me know 4 times, were the vehicle becomes disable in the middle of the road, during heavy traffic and almost hit several times from the rear. Each time I was in tears, thinking I was going to die and would call OnStar for assistance. The vehicle would not start, keep making this clicking sounds as if it's trying. The vehicle would automatically go into 'Park' and will not release for any other gear. I was told the Fuel Management System, that I was told was not suppose to happen in the 2024 model like it did in my 2022 model. My app also reports a "Transmission System Failure" for a brand new vehicle almost a year old & 7700 miles on it. I can't deal with GMC & my life over their products. I want to get rid of the vehicle and never purchase another one of their products. Highly disappointed & the lack of concern from GMC about their customers.

On four occasions now, the car slammed on the brakes as if the collision detection system was going off. Someone did almost hit me from behind as they needed to slam on their brakes due to my cars collision system going off when not supposed to. This has been well documented with Cadillac and the leased vehicle has been back in the shop 4 months out of the year we owned it. It is a major safety issue and am very concerned it will happen at a time that may cause a bad accident, injury or loss of life if something is not done. Cadillac has replaced many electrical parts and tells us it is fixed when in fact it is not and it happened again this week and will be going back to the shop for the 5th time next week.

On June 13th 2024, and on July 30th 2024, while driving on highway my Cadillac XT4 suddenly jerked forward as if I had been struck from behind by another vehicle. The vehicle seemed to have lost all power and appeared to stall in the lanes of the highway. This created a very dangerous situation, causing vehicles behind me to swerve in order to avoid a collision. Be advised that the vehicle did not turn off, because I didn’t have to restart it, however it felt like it did. This situation could have caused myself, and passengers to be injured or killed, especially if a large truck was behind me and unable to stop. Luckily I was able to steer the vehicle onto the shoulder off the highway.

The contact owns a 2024 Cadillac XT4. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the instrument panel lost power. The contact stated that prior to the complete failure, there were several error messages displayed on the screen. The contact stated that the only function on the instrument panel that was operating as needed was the speedometer. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and diagnosed with failure within the radio unit. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.
