LABURNUM AVE, RICHMOND, VA 23231 WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.

THE DASH BOARD IN 2007 AVALANCHE VEHICLES IS PRONE TO CRACKING. IN FACT GM HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS DEFECT IN THE MATERIALS THAT WERE USED TO MOLD THE DASH BOARD AND HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL. REPLACEMENT IS LEFT UP TO THE VEHICLE OWNER AND COSTS IN EXCESS OF $500 TO REPAIR. UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES GM SHOULD HAVE ISSUED A RECALL AND REPLACED THE DASH BOARD AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE TO THE CUSTOMER. *TR

MY DASH HAS CRACKED IN THE SAME PLACE AS OTHERS HAVE REPORTED. THE CRACK STARTS AT THE UPPER LEFT CORNER OF THE AIR BAG LID AND CONTINUES UP THE DASH TO THE VENT OPENING. THE AIR BAG COULD POSSIBLY RIP IF IT WERE TO CATCH ON THE SHARP EDGE THAT IS EXPOSED.

CRACKED DASHBOARD ON PASSENGER SIDE WHERE AIRBAG IS FITTED. UPPER LEFTHAND SIDE OF AIRBAG. TRACTION CONTROL/STABILITRAC SYSTEM: SERVICE INDICATOR WARNINGS ACTIVATE, SWITCHES FROM 2 WHEEL DRIVE TO 4 WHEEL DRIVE HIGH EVEN THOUGH SELECTOR IS IN 2WD MODE. THE FIRST OCCURRENCE OF THIS WAS AT 70K MILES, THEN AGAIN AT 90K. THEN AGAIN AT 97K THE TRANSMISSION WAS DAMAGED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AGAIN AT 101K MILES THE RINGGEAR IN THE REAR AXEL WAS DESTROYED. REAR AXEL WAS REPLACED. FIFTH TIME FOR THOSE COUNTING, 116K MILES SERVICE STABILITRAC AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL WARNINGS, SWITCHING FROM 2WD TO 4WD HIGH WHILE MOVING, WHILE PARKED, SELECTOR IN 2WD POSITION WITH SOMEONE AT THE WHEEL OR CAB EMPTY. EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CONTROL WARNING. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, CODE COMES BACK TO EEC. INDICATING A LEAK IN THE RETURN LINE. THE FIRST TIME THIS WAS REPLACED AT 70K MILES, THIS IS THE SECOND TIME. AND NO IT IS NOT THE GAS CAP BEING LOOSE OR NEEDING REPLACED. THE FIRST TIME THERE WAS "WATER IN THE CONNECTOR" (YEAH SURE). *TR

THE LINEAR POSITION OF DOORS ARE IRREGULAR,THE FRONT FENDER IS BEYOND USUAL MEET. THE PLASTIC STRUCTURE OF THE BACK IS NOT IN ALIGNMENT WITH THE BODY.THE REAR-VIEW MIRROR VIBRATES WHICH IS A HAZARD AT NIGHT, ANYONE CAN MISTAKE THE FLICKERING AS THE CARS CHANGING LANES WHEN NOT THE CASE. SINCE THE DOORS ARE NOT PROPERLY ALIGNED THE WIND,DIRT AND MIST OF WATER, BYPASSES THE WEATHER STRIP. THERE IS OVERSPRAY ON BLACK EXTERIOR PAINT. SINCE IT WAS UP ON A RAMP THE DEALER SAID THE ONLY WAY I COULD SEE THE INSIDE OR TEST DRIVE WAS IF I GOT PRE-QUALIFIED ,THAT ENDED UP BEEN MY SALES CONTRACT! WHEN THE TRUCK WAS LOWERED DOWN THEY GAVE ME THE KEYS AT 7PM WHICH WAS DARK IN THE FALL, SO IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO DISTINGUISH. REPAIRS TO THE FUEL PUMP, DISTORTION OF THE WINDSHIELD, THE BODY DEFECTS,REAR-VIEW MIRROR, LOUD SQUEALING BRAKES,THE HANDLES OF THE DOORS THAT HAS PEELED AND THE STEERING WHEELS INNER FACES HAS ALSO PEELED. THE STABILIZER LIGHT CAME ON WHEN MY FUEL PUMP WENTOUT AND SINCE THEN IT DOES NOT STABILIZE THE CHASSIS WHEN IN CONTACT WITH NATURAL HAZARDS SUCH AS RAIN, SAND,S NOW AND ANY TYPE OF UNEVEN TERRAIN. MY TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT APPEARS PERIODICALLY, ALTHOUGH MY TIRES ARE INFLATED WITH NITROGEN. MY RIGHT TAIL-LIGHTS LINEAR POSITION IS IRREGULAR, BUT NORMAL ON THE LEFT SIDE.MY BATTERY HAS GONE DEAD ON MY ONCE FOR NO APPARENT REASON. MY GAS CAP INDICATOR LIGHT ALSO COMES ON PERIODICALLY AND IT HAS BEEN REPLACED A COUPLE OF TIME. MY PASSENGER FRONT DOORS FRAME HAS A MALFORMATION WHERE IT MAKES THE WEATHER STRIP SEEM UN EVEN OR FALLING OFF. A PROBLEM THAT STILL CAN'T BE REPAIRED IS THE CARPET THAT ISN'T FITTED AND IS LOOSE.UNFORTUNEATELY, ITS VERY A ATTRACTIVE TRUCK, BUT THE EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE THAT I STILL CANNOT AWAKE FROM. I WANT GM TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE OCCURRING PROBLEM & BUYBACK THE TRUCK. COMPLAINTS BEGAN 09/01/06 AND HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR EXTENSIVE REPAIRS 9 TIMES & SPENT 60DAYS & COUNTING. *TR

OUR NEW 2007 CHEVROLET AVALANCHE WAS INVOLVED IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT (NOT OUR FAULT) AND IT SUSTAINED FRAME DAMAGE. AFTER USING A GM DEALER FOR REPAIRS TO OUR VEHICLE AND RETURNING IT THREE TIMES IT STILL WAS RETURNED TO US IN AN UNSAFE CONDITION WHICH PUT OUR FAMILY IN A POTENTIALLY POSITION WHICH COULD OF CAUSED ANOTHER CRASH AND INJURY OR DEATH. WE DECIDED TO GET OUR VEHICLE PUT ON ANOTHER FRAME MACHINE FOR ANOTHER OPINION. THE MEASUREMENTS WERE REPORTED TO BE NOT WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS AND MEASURE AS FOLLOWS. THE FRAME HAS VISIBLE DAMAGE. THE FRONT SECTION OF THE FRAME IS SWAYED TO THE RIGHT. JUST BEHIND THE FRONT BUMPER MOUNTS THE FRAME RAILS ARE SWAYED 12MM. TO THE RIGHT. AT THE CONTROL ARM MOUNTING POINTS, THE FRAME IS ALSO SWAYED 15MM TO THE RIGHT. IT WAS RECOMMENDED TO RE-FRAME THIS VEHICLE. WE HAVE BEEN BATTLING WITH OUR INSURANCE COMPANY AND ROGER DEAN CHEVY WITH SEVERAL CERTIFIED LETTERS ABOUT PUTTING OUR FAMILY IN AN UNSAFE POSITION AND THEY DISREGARD OUR POSITION AND BLAME EACH. THIS LEAVES OURSELVES AND THE PUBLIC IN A SITUATIONS WHICH COULD CAUSE A CRASH OR WORSE IF WE CHOOSE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE WITH THESE DEFECTS. I CAN NOT BELIEVE A GM REPAIR FACILITY COULD GET AWAY WITH SUCH REPAIRS. NOT ONLY ONCE, TWICE, BUT THREE TIMES WE HAVE BROUGHT THIS ISSUE TO THEIR ATTENTION TO NO AVAIL. PLEASE LOOK INTO THEIR REPAIRS AND THE VEHICLES THEY SEND OUT ON OUR STREETS TO KEEP THE PUBLIC SAFE. *TR
