TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT RADIATOR FLUID MIXED WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. AS A RESULT, THE TRANSMISSION HESITATED WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO SWITCH GEARS AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO COMMUNITY CHEVROLET (200 W OLIVE AVE, BURBANK, CA 91502, (866) 610-2450) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLOCK SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE CHECK ENGINE AND AIR BAG WARNING INDICATORS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,794.

MY KEY WAS STUCK IN THE IGNITION BETWEEN THE "ACCESSORY" SETTING AND HAVING THE CAR RUNNING. I GOOGLED THE PROBLEM; RECOMMENDED FIX WAS TO REMOVE FUSE FOR RADIO, SO I DID. I WAS ABLE TO REMOVE KEYS FROM IGNITION BUT WHEN I WAS READY TO LEAVE AGAIN I COULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF 'PARK.' I PUT THE RADIO FUSE BACK IN, AND MY GEARSHIFT & TRANSMISSION WORK PERFECTLY. EVERY TIME I GET OUT OF MY CAR I HAVE TO PULL THE RADIO FUSE OUT, REMOVE MY KEYS, THEN INSTALL THE RADIO FUSE AGAIN SO THAT I CAN GET OUT OF 'PARK' WHEN I NEED TO DRIVE LATER. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET AVEO. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL SMELL OF RUBBER AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF THE DRIVE POSITION. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

AT A STOP THE CAR WAS PUT IN PARK, IGNITION SWITCH TURNED OFF AND THE KEY WOULD NOT COME OUT. STARTED THE CAR AGAIN AND COULD NOT MOVE THE SHIFTER OUT OF PARK. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP. IGNITION LOCK MODULE WAS NOT SENDING SIGNAL. IT WAS NOT GROUNDING OUT AS DESIGNED. MODULE WAS REPLACED. THERE WAS STILL NO CHANGE IN RESOLVING THE PROBLEM. TESTED SHIFTER AND FOUND INTERNAL FAILURE OF MODULE. THE ENTIRE SHIFTER MODULE AND ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED. *TR

2006 CHEVROLET AVEO. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE MULTIPLE MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED SHE EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE. IT WAS NOT DISCLOSED TO HER, THAT THE VEHICLE HAD FRAME DAMAGE, IT WAS A FLEET VEHICLE, AND THE AIR BAGS WERE REPLACED WITH USED ONES. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, A BOLT IN THE BROKE, WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE TO COLLAPSE AND LANDED ON THE AXLE, BREAKING IT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. ALSO, SHE HAD THE AXLE REPLACED PREVIOUSLY, NOT KNOWING THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE FRAME. DUE TO THE FRAME DAMAGE AND WARPED UNDERCARRIAGE, A BOLT CONNECTED TO THE FRAME THAT WAS CONNECTED TO THE MOTOR MOUNT HIDDEN UNDER THE ENGINE HAD PREVIOUSLY BENT AND SEVERED 3/4 OF THE WAY THROUGH THE BOLT. IT WENT UN-DETECTED AND HER MECHANIC DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR, SINCE THE FRAME WAS NOT DISCLOSED. *JB

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE COULD NOT REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT PROPERLY ACCELERATE ON AN INCLINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR INSPECTION HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER PARKING, THE VEHICLE ROLLED AWAY IN REVERSE. THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFTER CABLE TAB FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. PARKED THE CAR IN A PARKING SPOT AT A STORE, WENT INSIDE FOR A LITTLE WHILE, CAME BACK OUT TO HAVE THE SHIFTER NOT SHIFT FROM PARK AFTER BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. I'VE ALREADY TRIED REPLACING THE BRAKE SWITCH NEAR THE BRAKE PEDAL AND REPLACED THE BRAKE TRANSAXLE SOLENOID. NEITHER OPTION HAS WORKED. TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT. $80 LATER, THEY WANT OVER 400 TO FIX THE SHIFTER BY REPLACING THE ENTIRE SHIFT ASSEMBLY. FROM WHAT I HAVE RESEARCHED ONLINE, THIS IS NOT THE ISSUE. THIS SHOULD BE AUTOMATICALLY TAKEN CARE OF BY THE DEALERSHIP AT NO COST TO US. IT STILL IS NOT FIXED BECAUSE WE CANNOT AFFORD TO SPEND ANOTHER 400 DOLLARS TO FIX SOMETHING THAT FAILED RIGHT AFTER THE 36,000 MARK. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY WAS STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND THE GEAR WAS UNABLE TO BE SHIFTED OUT OF PARK. THE KEY WILL NOT MOVE FROM THE LOCKING POSITION. IN ORDER TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT MUST DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. THE BATTERY MUST THEN BE RECONNECTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE REPAIR WOULD COST $300. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,857.

TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET AVEO WITH A CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE OF 15,000 MILES. THE CONTACT WAS HEARING A CRUNCHING SOUND COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TAKEN TO THE DEALER, SERPENTINE CHEVROLET , SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THEY COULD NOT FIND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. WHEN THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL MECHANIC THEY FOUND THAT THE REAR AXLE WAS BENT, WHICH CAUSED THE COIL SPRING TO RUB AGAINST THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE. ALSO, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE BENT AXLE COULD HAVE HAPPENED AT THE TIME THE VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR, AT WHICH TIME, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE FRONT SUSPENSION SYSTEM WAS LOOSE AS WELL. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT SWAY BAR, AND THE BUSHING, AND TIGHTEN ALL THE BOLTS. WHEN THE DEALER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AFTER THE REPAIRS THEY FOUND THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS A SQUEAKING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, THE SWAY BAR BUSHINGS AND LOWER BALL JOINTS WERE REPLACED. DT: THE CONTACT STATED HIS VEHICLE SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING. PRIOR TO THE CAR SHUTTING DOWN THE ENGINE RPM DROPPED AND THEN INCREASED SUDDENLY. AT THE SAME TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN INTERMITTENTLY LOSING POWER SINCE THE CONTACT PURCHASED IT. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALER THINKS THE PROBLEM LIES WITH THE PCM, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO OBTAIN A REPLACEMENT PART FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE. *AK
