THE GEARSHAFT WON'T COME OUT OF PARK. I HAD THIS REPAIRED AT THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO AND IT IS NOW HAPPENING AGAIN AND PAID $300 FOR A GROUND WIRE. MY CAR CURRENTLY HAS 90000 MILES ON IT. I WOULD LIKE TO FILE A FORMAL COMPLIANT REGARDING THE SAME ISSUE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THERE WAS A BURNING SMELL INSIDE THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL BECAME INOPERABLE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT INTO THE PARK POSITION. ALSO, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE IGNITION KEY FAILED TO DISENGAGE FROM THE IGNITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUSE BOX WIRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. AFTER STARTING CAR, I WAS UNABLE TO DISENGAGE THE CAR FROM THE PARKING POSITION. WAS ONLY ABLE TO GET CAR OUT THE PARK POSITION BY JAMMING A METAL DEVICE INTO THE MANUAL SHIFT LOCK RELEASE POSITION. ENDED HAVING CAR TOWED TO MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED PROBLEM AS NEEDING A NEW FUSE BOX. HOWEVER, AFTER FIRST DRIVE HOME, BACK TO ORIGINAL PROBLEM: CANNOT REMOVE KEY FROM IGNITION AND IF I DO DRIVE, ELECTRICAL POWER GOES OUT. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR LEVER WAS DIFFICULT TO SHIFT OUT OF GEAR UNTIL REPEATED ATTEMPTS. THE FAILURE RECURRED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO INFORMED THAT THE CLUTCH AND SHIFT LINKAGE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CLUTCH WAS REPLACED THREE TIMES PREVIOUSLY. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE RECENT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET AVEO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN SPEED FOR MILES AS PRESSURE WAS REMOVED FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD RECUR AT ANY SPEED. THE VEHICLE ALSO STALLED APPROXIMATELY FIFTY TIMES WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD DECELERATE INDEPENDENTLY, THE RPMS WOULD FLUCTUATE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD JERKS FORWARD ERRATICALLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DISCOVERED THAT WHILE THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN NEUTRAL, THE TIRES WOULD CONTINUE TO SPIN EXCESSIVELY ON WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. I BOUGHT THIS 2007 CHEVY AVEO BRAND NEW WITH ONLY 9 MILES ON IT. AFTER I PUT ABOUT 33,000 MILES THE A/C WENT OUT... ON A BRAND NEW CAR! THEN THE CONSOLE WITH THE SHIFTERS LIGHTS WENT OUT, BLINKERS WOULD STOP BLINKING AND JUST STAY GREEN. I WENT TO START MY CAR AT 10PM AND IT WOULDN'T START IT ACTED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO BE THEN KEPT CLICKING. SO I JUMPED IT AND DROVE AROUND TO CHARGE THE BATTERY. I HAD THE BATTERY TESTED AND THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS FINE. GO BACK AND THE NEXT MORNING IT DOESN'T START AGAIN, ALL I GOT WAS A CLICKING SOUND WHEN TRYING TO START THE CAR. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND HE SAID THAT IT COULD BE THE STARTER OR THE ALTERNATOR AND THAT I SHOULD PAY TO GET THEM BOTH TESTED AND REPLACED IF NEEDED. THERE HAS GOT TO BE SOME TYPE OF A RECALL IF I GOOGLE IT AND EVERYONE HAS THE SAME ELECTRICAL AND ENGINE PROBLEMS. THERE IS NO WAY THAT A 3 YEAR OLD CAR SHOULD BE NEEDING MAJOR A/C REPAIRS, ELECTRICAL, AND ENGINE REPAIRS SO SOON. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS!! *TR

WHILE CAR WAS PARKED I WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT TO DRIVE. I HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK TO MY JOB AND HAVE IT TOWED. LUCKILY THE TOW GUY KNEW WHERE THE EMERGENCY BYPASS WAS OR ELSE I WOULD HAVE HAD TO WAIT FOR A CRANE TO LIFT IT. AT THE DEALERSHIP THEY HAD TO REPLACE MY BRAKE SENSOR AND MY GEAR SHIFT. ACCORDING TO TOW GUY THIS IS HAPPENING ALOT. THANK GOODNESS I WASN'T DRIVING IT WHEN IT HAPPENED. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET AVEO. ONCE THE VEHICLE IS SHIFTED INTO PARK, IT WILL NOT SHIFT INTO ANY OTHER GEAR. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO MOVE THE GEAR OUT OF PARK WHEN SHE STUCK A SHARP OBJECT INTO THE GEARBOX. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER FOUR TIMES AND THEY REPLACED THE GEAR SHIFTER, BUT THAT DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE DEALER ALSO THOUGHT IT WAS THE BRAKES, BUT THAT ALSO DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. A REPORT WAS FILED WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY STATED THAT THE DEALER WOULD REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT RECENTLY NOTICED THAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATING. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 37,000.

I BOUGHT MY AVEO NEW. AT ONLY 6,000 MILES THE MASTER CYLINDER FAILED AND 5,000 MILES LATER THE BRAKE BOOSTER FAILED AND I CRASHED--THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. GM WOULD FIXED THE BRAKE BOOSTER BUT NOT THE DAMAGE TO MY CAR! AT 13,000 MILES THE BRAKE DRUMS NEEDED TO BE RE-SURFACED, THE BRAKE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE CUT, AND I HAD TO GET NEW BRAKE PADS--AGAIN GM WOULD NOT FIX IT AND MADE ME PAY FOR IT. AT 16,000 MILES THE AIR BAG SENSOR FOR THE PASSENGER FAILED. AT 18,000 MILES THE GAS GAUGE FAILED AND THE SHIFTER GOT STUCK IN PARK, AND THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD WORK ON AND OFF. AT 20,000 MILES THE ALL FOUR TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AROUND THIS TIME, GAS MILEAGE DIPPED TO ABOUT 19-21MPG, BUT GM COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHY. AT 30,000 MILES I HAD TO GET NEW ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS--AGAIN I HAD TO PAY FOR IT EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE WEARING OUT PREMATURELY. AT 35,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION STARTED TO SHIFT HARD SO GM RECOMMENDED I CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AT A COST $450 BECAUSE THE FLUID HAS A SPECIAL ADDITIVE THAT IS SHIPPED FROM KOREA! AT 44,000 MILES THE ENGINE DIED--MORE LIKE BLEW UP. GM SAID THAT IT IS MY FAULT FOR LETTING IT RUN TOO HOT, THOUGH I HAD NO WARNING FROM ANY GAUGES, LIGHTS, ECT... AGAIN I HAD TO FIX IT EVEN THOUGH I HAD THE 100,000 MILE WARRANTY. AT 48,000 MILES THE A/C NEEDED TO BE OVERHAULED--I HAD TO PAY FOR IT. AT 52,000 MILES I HIT A DEER AND AGAIN THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE INSURANCE COMPANY JUNKED IT. ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT A DOUBT IN MY MIND THE WORST CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED. GM SHOULD BE SUED FOR THIS CAR. THEY DO NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY AT ALL. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENTS TREATED ME WITH DISRESPECT. A COUPLE OF DEALERS REFUSED TO EVEN ACCEPT MY CAR FOR REPAIR. THE CAR IS VERY SCARY TO DRIVE AND NOT SAFE AT ALL. WITH ALL THE MONEY I SPENT FIXING THE CAR PLUS MY CAR PAYMENT EACH MONTH, I COULD HAVE EASILY PURCHASED A BMW INSTEAD. GM IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST FOLKS TO DEAL WITH. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY OR SUPPORT ANYTHING FROM GM. *TR

OUR CHEVY AVEO ONCE AGAIN WAS BROKEN THREE TIMES IN ONE MONTH THE CLUTCH STUCK IN PARK MODE UNABLE TO GO INTO DRIVE MODE CHEVY AVEO WAS EARLIER WITH CLUTCH STUCK ON JUNE 15, 2008, JULY 15, 2008 AND JULY 21, 2008. CHEVY AVEO FAILED TO RESPOND TO RECALL THE CHEVY AVEO AS THIS IS A SERIOUS HAZARD TO MY FAMILY. COUPLE OF OBSERVATIONS: CHEVY AVEO HAD A FULL TANK WHEN IT WAS DELIVERED ON 7/21/2008 AT 14889 MILES. WHEN I PICKED UP THE CHEVY AVEO ON 7/23/08 IT SHOWED AN 1/8 FUEL WAS USED DURING THIS SERVICE SHOWING MILEAGE AT 14962. GAS BEING EXPENSIVE AT THIS TIME I WAS WONDERING WHETHER IT WAS TEST DRIVEN FOR 75 MILES? SECONDLY, TEAM CHEVROLET INVOICE STATES " CUSTOMER STATES THE KEY WOULD COME OUT OF THE IGNITION? I NEVER STATED THIS AT ANY TIME. THE PURPOSE WHY THE CHEVY AVEO WAS SENT BACK TO THE SERVICE CENTER WAS BECAUSE THE CLUTCH SHIFT WAS STUCK ONCE AGAIN IN PARKING MODE AND WOULD NOT MOVE BACK TO DRIVE MODE. THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE KEY AT ANY GIVEN TIME, IGNITION KEY HAD FREE MOVEMENT. THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE. *TR UPDATED 07/24/08

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN FAILING EVER SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 35-70 MPH, THE CONTACT SMELLS SOMETHING BURNING. THE CONTACT LEFT THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALER ON FOUR OCCASIONS FOR REPAIR, BUT NO WORK WAS EVER PERFORMED. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE DRY AND SUNNY AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. OCCASIONALLY, WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SWITCH GEARS AND THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT OPERATE PROPERLY. THE HEADLIGHTS TURN ON AND OFF WITHOUT THE VEHICLE TURNED ON. THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS NO LONGER WORK AND THE CONTACT HAS TO USE HER KEY TO ENTER THE VEHICLE. AFTER LOCKING THE DOORS, THEY SOMETIMES DO NOT OPEN FROM WITHIN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. THE CONTACT CARRIES A HAMMER IN THE VEHICLE IN CASE SHE HAS TO BREAK THE WINDOWS TO ENTER THE VEHICLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 5,080 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56. UPDATED 5/30/08 *CN THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYED ON, THE TRUNK LID WOULD POP OPEN WHILE THE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WOULD OPEN AS WELL, THE TRANSMISSION HAD A STRANGE ROARING SOUND AND IT WAS ALSO HARD TO UPSHIFT AND DOWNSHIFT, THE ODOMETER WOULD JUMP FORWARD ON ITS OWN WHEN IT WAS PARKED AND THEN RESTARTED, THE HORN WOULD BLOW ON ITS OWN WHEN NO ONE WAS IN THE VEHICLE.
