Recall N252503010 / 25V433 – 2024 Chevy Blazer EV. Dealer cleared my VIN after only a visual “inspection” and later applied software updates. The official remedy requires rerouting/taping or replacing the brake harness, not software. My VIN was falsely marked “recall complete” while the safety defect remains unresolved.

Left turn signal can activate by itself after right turn. Details: Driving and making a right turn with the right turn signal active, after the turn when the signal cancels, the signal sometimes activates the left blink-to-pass feature causing the left signal to blink 3 times. This appears to be because the turn signal arm falls too hard. When turning onto a multi lane road this causes confusion to drivers coming up behind where they think I am moving into the left lane, but I am not. GM has loaded software to reduce this but it still happens. They replaced my turn signal arm and it still happens (much less often now). I can prevent it from happening by using my finger to dampen the turn signal arm when it cancels by catching it and slowing it down. I stopped using my turn signal completely as it is embarrassing when it does this.

Multiple safety-critical systems have malfunctioned since shortly after purchase, continuing to this day. The most serious is the forward collision braking, which has triggered randomly during normal driving. These braking events have occurred on highways and surface streets, posing a serious risk if a vehicle were following closely. During arbitration, the manufacturer admitted this is a known defect with no current fix, yet continues to return the vehicle marked as “repaired.” Additional issues include: Adaptive cruise control failure Intermittent charging failures (won’t initiate or randomly stops mid-charge) Infotainment screen freezing or going blank Inconsistent air conditioning performance Rear hatch failing to open/close and requiring physical force Bluetooth audio that disconnects unless the vehicle is powered off for 15+ minutes These problems have been reported to two GM-authorized dealerships. One repair attempt at a second location was ignored in arbitration. I also contacted GM corporate multiple times directly, requesting support. My attempts were either unanswered or dismissed, with no action taken. Many concerns were labeled “unable to duplicate,” even when I provided documentation. No warning lights appear with braking or charging failures. Most issues temporarily resolve after a full power-down, suggesting a software or control system fault. The manufacturer participated in arbitration and acknowledged the unresolved defects, but refused to provide further oversight or assign a factory technician. The vehicle is available for inspection. I am reporting this because the problems are ongoing and impact safety, reliability, and functionality.

On one occasion, the doors locks failed to respond to multiple unlock attempts (using the buttons on 3 of the handles and using the remote). After 5 minutes or so, the door locks finally responded to a command from the key fob to unlock.

This may or may not be a true safety issue depending on definition. The charge door will not open some of the time. It starts to open and then closes right a way. Depending on where you are this could be a safety issue in that you could get stuck somewhere not close to any kind of service to get the door open. You could just be in a place that is just not safe to be stranded for a period of time. This problem is preventable. I my case it appears to be dust getting in a switch that causes it not to lower when the door starts to open. It takes me put to 20 times so far to get the door open when I am home with plowing air in side the door during the short time it is partly open. You will find many variations of complained on the issue on the Blazer EV Forum. Here is an example. [XXX] . I am not aware of GM recognizing this problem. This has happened to me 3 times now while at home. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

On multiple occasions the electrical system of my car has gone completely haywire. Various error messages display on the dash referencing problems with almost all car systems including: high voltage battery warning, reduced acceleration, power steering failure, and others. These error message occur in conjunction with the display screens flickering, all the fixed dash warning lights coming on, and the heater turning on full blast without my input. The blinkers also stop working during these electrical events which is a safety hazard to other vehicles. I have taken the car into the dealer multiple times but they still don't know how to fix it. Software updates have not worked. I have pictures and videos of the events occurring. I have also read on message boards that other Blazer EV owners have this exact same problem.

I entered my vehicle, and began to reverse when I noticed that the backup camera did not show up. Then I saw that my instrument cluster was not appearing either. I did a reset on the infotainment and the entire instrument cluster and infotainment set of screens stayed black. I had to leave the area so I ended up driving a few miles with no gauge cluster, camera system, or dash indicator lights. Eventually this was rectified by leaving the vehicle off for several minutes, but now I fear this issue will return unexpectedly again.

The Lithium-Ion Battery is not performing as expected. An issue has been detected in the Onboard Charging System which manages your vehicle's battery pack charge level.

Dear NHTSA, I am writing to express concern about the excessive noise generated by the Pedestrian Warning System (PWS) on my 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV. While I understand the importance of these systems for pedestrian safety, the current volume level is unreasonably loud and intrusive. The PWS on this vehicle activates at low speeds, (below 25mph), creating significant noise pollution both inside and outside the vehicle. This excessive noise is not only irritating but also potentially harmful to the well-being of drivers, passengers, and particularly our furry friends. I have hearing aids, and it is painful to my ears! I request that the NHTSA investigate the volume levels of Blazers EV PWS systems to ensure they are both effective for pedestrian safety and considerate of vehicle occupants. They need to match combustion engine noise levels and no more. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
