OWNING THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE AND A FINANCIAL DRAIN. WINDSHIELD WIPERS WORKED WHEN THEY CHOSE, REPLACED WIPER MOTOR DUE TO DEFECTIVE PART. UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS ALL HAD TO BE REPLACED. WHEEL BEARINGS HAD TO BE REPLACED. A/C STOPPED WORKING, HAD IT LOOKED AT AND RECHARGED AND IT STILL DOESN'T WORK. FUEL GAGE DIDN'T WORK, REPLACED FUEL SENSOR AND SENDING UNIT. REAR WIPER QUIT WORKING, REPLACED REAR WIPER MOTOR, A FEW DAYS LATER IT DOES NOT WORK AGAIN. REPLACED WATER PUMP, HAVE REPLACED ABS ONLY TO GET A RECALL AFTER THE FACT WITH NO REIMBURSEMENT. WEARS THROUGH BRAKE PADS ENTIRELY TOO FAST. REPLACED ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY TWICE. REAR HATCH DOES NOT UNLOCK WITH KEY. HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THEY MIGHT AS WELL NOT EXIST. WATER LEAKS INTO INTERIOR ON DRIVERS SIDE DUE TO A BAD SEAL. IDLER ARM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. GAS PEDAL STICKS. NOW HEATER FAN WORKS SOMETIMES. READING THROUGH THE COMPLAINTS WE ARE ALL EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT. RECALLS ISSUED ON SOME VEHICLES BUT NOT ALL? NOW I HEAR GM PUT A BAD INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET ON THESE AS WELL AS SEVERAL OTHER CARS (1997) AND DID NOT ISSUE A RECALL BECAUSE IT IS NOT A SAFETY MATTER! THIS CAUSES ANTIFREEZE TO LEAK INTO THE ENGINE AND ULTIMATELY ENDS IN A REPAIR OF AT LEAST 1500.00. AFTER MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS VEHICLE I WILL BE PURCHASING SOON AND IT MOST LIKELY WILL NOT BE GM. SAD SINCE MY DAD WORKED FOR THEM FOR 30 YEARS. THEY SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR PUTTING A BAD PRODUCT ON THE MARKET AND LEAVING US TO DRY. *NM

DT: THE CONTACT OWNS A 1997 CHEVROLET S10 BLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ORIGINAL COMPUTER TO THE VEHICLE MALFUNCTIONED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE CONSUMER REPLACED THE COMPUTER, BUT THIS DID NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. A CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THERE WAS GASOLINE THAT WENT INTO THE COMPUTER UNDERNEATH THE HOOD THROUGH THE WIRING HARNESS. THE DETERMINATION OF THE GASOLINE LEAKAGE HAS NOT BEEN DECIDED. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, AND THEY WOULD FILE AND CLAIM AND POSSIBLY REVIEW IT, AND REFERRED THE CONSUMER TO CONTACT NHTSA. *AK

THIS VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 60,000 MILES. I JUST FOUND OUT THAT MOST OF THESE PROBLEM HAVE BEEN RECALLED I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED. IGNITION SWITCH; MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL FAILURES WITH INTERIOR LIGHTS FOR WHICH NO ONE CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT IS HAPPENING; CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE EVEN AFTER DEALER WORKED ON IT; VEHICLE STALLING OUT WHILE DRIVING ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENT; ALTERNATOR REPLACEMENT; MULTIPLE BATTERIES -DRAIN FOR UNIDENTIFIED REASON; FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM AND PUMP; UNEXPLAINED NOISES IN THE FRONT END; FRONT BALL JOINTS LOOSE FOR WHICH THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT REPLACE WHEN I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THEY SAID IT WAS WITHIN FACTORY LIMITS EVEN THOUGH MY MECHANIC SAID THAT THEY WERE NOT; AT THIS POINT I HAVE BECOME AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AND STALLING BUT FEEL THAT I HAVE NO CHOICE BECAUSE THE COSTS TO MAINTAIN THE VEHICLE IS THAT OF THE PAYMENTS AND SOMETIMES MORE AND I CANNOT AFFORD THE REQUIRED MONEY DOWN TO REPLACE IT. THE TRANSMISSION HAD RAIN WATER RUN DOWN THE TUBE FROM THE GRATES IN THE HOOD BEN MYNETT CHEVROLET DRAINED THE FLUID AND CHANGED THE FILTERS AND REPLACED THE DIP STICK AND TUBE THY SAID THIS WOULD DO ENOUGH BUT NOW THERE IS RUST PARTICLES IN THE TRANSMISSION AND IT WAS TAKEN BACK FOR THAT THEY SAID IT WAS NOTHING .THE AIR CONDITIONER HAS WENT OUT TWICE THEY SAID IT WAS JUST A HOSE CLOGGED TWO TIMES IN JUST A FEW MONTHS .THE HEATER CORE WAS REPLACED TWICE IN A 2 WEEK TIME PERIOD THE DEX COOL COOLANT HAS HAD A REPUTATION OF CLOGGING UP THE HEATER CORE IN ALL GM CARS .THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE HAS WENT OUT TWICE THIS WAS FROM A VACUUM HOSE AROUND THE TRANSMISSION .THE WINDSHEILD WIPERS HAVE WENT OUT ONCE .TBATTERY WAS REPLACED 3 TIMES IN A 2 MONTH TIME PERIOD THIS HAD US STRANDED IN 95 DEGREE HEAT .TURNED OUT IT WAS A BAD ALTERNATOR.THE FACTORY UNIROYAL 50000 MILE TIRES ONLY LASTED 30000 MILES AND THEY WOULD NOT STAND BEHIND THERE PRODUCT .THE VEHICLE CUT OFF ONE DAY LIKE IT WAS OUT OF GAS WHILE MOVING AT 45 MPH MY WIFE BARELY GOT THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD .THE FUEL TANK HAD TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE COMPUTER IN THE TANK .( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: P205-75-15 )

ENGINE OIL LEAK LOOKS AS IF THE OIL FILTER IS LEAKING BUT IS COMING FROM THE OIL FILTER ADAPTER LINES SERVICE ADVISORS AND MANAGERS ALL KNOW OF THE PROBLEM AND TOLD ME WHAT IT WAS WITHOUT LOOKING AT VEHICLE THEY SAID IT WAS COMMON ON ALL BLAZERS CHEVROLET DENIED ANY PROBLEM FUEL GAUGE STOPPED RECORDING BELOW HALF AND WOULD GO BACK UP TO FULL AT TIMES GAS PEDAL WOULD BE HARD TO PRESS AND FINALLY WOULD STICK AT VARIOUS SPEEDS ENGINE COOLANT COOLANT LOOKS RUSTY IN THE OVERFLOW TANK AND CORRODED AROUND RADIATOR CAP DIRECTLY BEHIND THE STICKER THAT READS NO MATIENCE REQUIRED FOR 5 YRS. 150,000 MILES

FUEL INJECTORS FAIL EVERY 3,000 MILES. THEY ARE CONSTANTLY BEING REPLACED AND CLEANED. I HAVE TAKEN THE TRUCK TO THE ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP WHICH IS 55 MILES AWAY FROM ME. THE GAS GAUGE DOES NOT WORK AND INDICATES THE INCORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL. THE INDICATOR FLUCTUATES FROM FULL TO EMPTY AS THE TRUCK IS BEING DRIVEN. MY CASE NUMBER WITH CHEVROLET IS #990453585.

BESIDES THE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM GOING OUT OF THIS VEHICLE THERE IS SOMETHING CALLED A BARRING IN THE HEATER AND AIR THING THAT WE NEED FIXED. WHEN WE RUN THE HEAT OR THE AIR THE CAR GETS REALLY LOUD. MY MECHANIC CALLED JOHNY MORRIS AND THEY SAID THAT THEY HAVE HAD TONS OF BLAZERS BROUGHT BACK TO BE FIXED BECAUSE OF THE FUEL INJECTORS. WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS, IF THERE IS SO MANY BEING BROUGHT BACK TO BE FIXED WHY DOESN'T CHEVROLET DO A RECALL ON THE FUEL INJECTORS? ITS NOT LIKE ITS A CHEAP PART TO FIX. I BOUGHT THIS BLAZER AS IS WITH NO WARRANTY BUT YOU WOULDN'T THINK THAT SOMETHING THIS MAJOR WOULD GO WRONG WHEN THE VEHICLE IS ONLY 2 YRS OLD.

FOR A WHILE THE FUEL PUMP HAS BEEN WHINING. BUT WHEN TAKEN TO THE SHOP THEY SAY THEY COULD NOT HEAR IT. SO IT CAME BACK HOME. THEN I SENT IT BACK AGAIN. THEY DECIDED IT WAS THE FUEL SENDER. AT THIS TIME THE CAR WAS ALREADY OUT OF WARRANTY BECAUSE OF MILEAGE.BUT I CALLED GM AND THEY TOOK CARE OF IT. WELL NEEDLESS TO SAY THE PROBLEM WAS STILL NOT TAKEN CARE OF.WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IT JUST DIES , HAS DONE THAT TO ME SEVERAL TIMES. ONE TIME CROSSING A FOUR LANE OF TRAFFIC. LUCKILY NOT AT A BUSY TIME. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. SO THEY REPLACED THE FUEL SENDER. HAS NOT QUIT THE NOISE SINCE AND DIES WITH NO WARNING. TO ME I THINK IT IS DANGEROUS. BUT THEY ASKED ME TO DRIVE IT UP THERE. ALREADY HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL SENDER AND THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE UNIT. I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF ALL OF THE MERCHANDISE IS THIS BAD ANY MORE OR THIS IS JUST A FLUKE. WE HAVE TWO OTHER CHEV.
