RELAY FOR 4 WAY FLASHERS IS CLICKING, ONLINE MY PROBLEM WITH FLASHER RELAY AND BRAKE LIGHTS IS LISTED UNDER RECALL 01073B. I HAVE NO IDEA IF THIS RECALL WAS DONE, DONE PROPERLY OR JUST TIMED OUT.

THE TRANSMISSION ISNT WORKING RIGHT AT ALL AND I DONT DARE DRIVE IT ANYWHERE. THE FUSE BOX UNDER THE HOOD DOES NOT TEST RIGHT, ONLY ABOUT HALF OF IT HAS POWER AND I AM AT A LOSS THERE! THERE HAS BEEN ELECTRICAL PROBNLEMS WITH IT EVER SINCE I BOUGHT IT.

MY CUSTOMER WAS NOT AWARE THAT THE INVOLVED VEHICLE HAD A THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM, MANUFACTURED BY "KARR" AND DISTRIBUTED BY AUDIOVOX WITH INSTALLERS NATIONWIDE. I HAVE BEEN ACTIVELY INVOLVED WITH GM DEALERSHIPS FOR OVER FORTY YEARS AND POSSESS A WEALTH OF EXPERIENCE IN PARTS AND SERVICE EXPERIENCE. I REMOVED THE SUSPECT SECURITY SYSTEM AND REPAIRED THE DAMAGED WIRING WHICH RESULTED IN THE IMPROPER INSTALLATION. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE WAS ACTIVATED, BUT FAILED TO ENGAGE AND THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE DISPLAYED AN INCORRECT READING. THE ABS WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSFER CASE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. FORTUNATELY, I HAD JUST GOTTEN OFF THE FREEWAY AND WAS LOOKING FOR AN ADDRESS AT A SLOW SPEED. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR LURCHED; I HAD NO STEERING; I LOST ALL ELECTRICAL CONTROL; THE CAR GROUND TO A HALT; SMOKE CAME OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I AND A FRIEND GOT OUT OF THE CAR. FORTUITOUSLY, FIRE TRUCKS APPEARED. IT TURNED OUT THEY WERE RETURNING FROM ANOTHER INCIDENT AS I COULD NOT BELIEVE THE IMMEDIACY OF THEIR RESPONSE. THEY TOOK OVER PREVENTING FURTHER AGGRAVATION OF THIS SITUATION. THE BATTERY WAS BOILING. ALL THE ELECTRICAL WIRE HARNESSES WERE MELTED. THE UPPER SUSPENSION CONTROL ARM WAS BROKEN. THE FIREMEN'S OBSERVATION WAS, IF I HAD BEEN GOING ANY FASTER, THE CAR COULD HAVE FLIPPED. AFTER BEING TOWED TO A NEARBY MECHANIC, I LEARNED THE UPPER CONTROL ARM HAD BROKEN. IT IMPAILED THE STARTER WHICH SHORTED. THAT MELTED THE WIRING HARNESSES TO AND FROM THE BATTERY, AS WELL AS BEING THE CAUSE OF THE BATTERY BOILING. THE KEY ISSUE IS THAT GENERAL MOTORS WOULD BUILD A VEHICLE WHERE THE UPPER CONTROL ARM IS SO FLIMSY IT WOULD BREAK. I HAVE READ OTHER INCIDENTS OF THE SAME THING WITH THE CHEVROLET BLAZER WHERE, FOR EXAMPLE, A PERSON WAS GOING 30MPH, THE CAR FLIPPED, AND THE PERSON WAS KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS. A REPEATED CORPORATE FAILURE OF THIS NATURE SHOULD HAVE CONSEQUENCES. *TR

THE ABS AND PARKING BRAKE INDICATOR LIGHTS GO ON AND OFF. THE PARKING BRAKE STICKS AND WONT RELEASE. DUE TO THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS, RECALLS, AND SERVICE BULLETINS ISSUED ON THESE SAFETY PROBLEMS I THINK MORE SHOULD BE DONE TO HOLD THE MANUFACTURER RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRING THESE DEFECTS. 11/18/2009: SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. SPOKE WITH A FAMILY MEMBER WHO WORKS AS A TECHNICIAN FOR PEP BOYS. HE BELIEVED THE CAUSE TO BE THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH. 11/20/2009: BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD NOT TURN OFF EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. THEY STAYED ON UNTIL THEY COMPLETELY DRAINED MY BATTERY. LOOKED UP RECALLS AND FOUND THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH: NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: RQ08001. 11/21/2009: CALLED THE GM NUMBER LISTED ON THE NHTSA RECALL FORM TO ASK FOR ASSISTANCE WITH THE COST OF REPLACING THE PART. WAS REFUSED ASSISTANCE AND GIVEN THE FOLLOWING REASONS: MY PARTICULAR VIN WAS NOT ONE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I DIDN'T PURCHASE MY VEHICLE FROM A GM DEALER. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE USED (THERE WAS ONLY ONE PREVIOUS OWNER). MY VEHICLE HAS OVER 100,000 MILES ON IT. I DON'T HAVE A (PROVEN) HISTORY OF BEING A LOYAL GM OWNER. SECURITY LAMP ILLUMINATES WHILE DRIVING AND THEN THE ASSOCIATED "PASSLOCK" SECURITY SYSTEM EITHER STALLS OUT MY ENGINE WHILE DRIVING OR CAUSES A SHUT-DOWN OF MY VEHICLE WHEREBY THE ENGINE WILL NOT START FOR AT LEAST 10 MINUTES. THIS HAS HAPPENED LATE AT NIGHT, AT INTERSECTIONS, GAS STATIONS, ETC. THE AMOUNT OF TIMES I HAVE HAD TO WAIT FOR THIS SECURITY SYSTEM TO "RESET" HAS BECOME FRUSTRATING. I HAVE DONE EXTENSIVE RESEARCH ON THIS VIA RESPECTABLE ONLINE FORUMS, AND THERE ARE MANY OWNERS NOT JUST OF THE 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER BUT OF A NUMBER OF VEHICLES IN THE ENTIRE GM FAMILY WHO HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM. WE ARE ALL CRYING OUT FOR A RECOGNITION OF THIS BEING A SAFETY ISSUE, NOT JUST AN ISSUE OF INCONVENIENCE. FAILURE TO START AND STALLING ARE SYMPTOMS THAT ARE ONLY GOING TO LEAD IN ONE DIRECTION. THERE ARE LITERALLY HUNDREDS OF POSTS ON THIS ISSUE IF ONE GOES TO AN ONLINE FORUM AND SEARCHES UNDER THE TERMS "SECURITY LIGHT" OR "PASSLOCK" WITHIN THE GM CONTEXT. I HAVE BEEN TO MY DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES, HAVE ATTEMPTED TO WORK WITH CHEVROLET, AND NOTHING SEEMS TO BE GETTING RESOLVED. I AM UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT A MECHANICAL SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM DOES NOT EXIST, SHORT OF DISABLING THE SYSTEM ALTOGETHER (WHICH DEALERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DO). THE HANDLE THAT ALLOWS YOU TO RECLINE THE SEAT BROKE OFF FLUSHED WITH THE SEAT, THIS HAPPENED TO BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS IN JUNE 2005. THE HOOD WILL NOT POP UP WHEN THE LEVER WAS PULLED UNTIL ONE BANGED ON THE GRILL OR THE HOOD IN CERTAIN SPOTS, WHICH JUST STARTED IN MARCH OF 2007. THE GAS MILEAGE DROPPED FROM 20 MPG TO 16 MPG WITHIN 6 MONTHS. THE BACK GLASS STUCK AND WAS HARD TO OPEN, STARTED IN 2006. WHEN TURNING ON THE AIR CONDITIONER (A/C ) THE CAR HAD NO POWER, I HAVE TO TURN IT OFF WHEN ACCELERATING ON THE INTERSTATE OR ON HILLS. IF THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS SET IT KICKED OFF WHEN THE A/C WAS ON. WHEN I NEEDED TO STOP QUICKLY THE BRAKES FAILED, AND FELT A GRINDING SENSATION THROUGH THE PEDAL, BUT THE MECHANIC CHANGED THE BRAKES AND CHECKED THE ROTORS, BUT HASN'T FOUND ANY PROBLEM. SUSPECTED A DEFECT SOMEWHERE IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM\ AS OF 2005. THE FAN KICKED ON ALL THE TIME, EVEN WHEN THE ENGINE WAS COLD, AND IN WINTER WHEN FIRST STARTING. ONE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT IN MANY BLAZERS THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER BROKE OFF IN THE MUFFLER, WHICH HAD TO BE REPLACED. HAD BEEN TOLD THIS HAPPENED SO MUCH THAT MOST PEOPLE LEFT THEM OFF. TOO MANY OTHER PROBLEMS TO MENTIONED. ALSO, THE HORN WORKED ONLY WHEN IT WANTED TO, PROBLEM IN THE STEERING WHEEL. *AK

I BOUGHT THE 2000 BLAZER USED JUST OVER A YEAR AGO AND HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. TO BEGIN, I REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR, FUEL PUMP, AND VIRTUALLY ALL SUSPENSION COMPONENTS IN THE FRONT END WITH JUST OVER 65,000 MILES. ON VACATION DURING ONE OF THE HOTTEST DAYS OF THE YEAR TRAVELING HOME THE BLAZER OVER HEATED AND LEFT MY FAMILY AND I STRANDED ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE WITH NO A/C FOR NEARLY AN HOUR BEFORE GETTING TOWED TO THE WORST CHEVROLET DEALER IN THE COUNTRY(RICHMOND, VA). WE WERE FORCED TO PAY FOR A NEW RADIATOR AND MISCELLANEOUS PARTS TOTALING OVER $600. THEY SAID THE COOLANT SYSTEM WAS FULL OF RUST AND THE RADIATOR WAS PLUGGED AND COULD NOT BE REUSED. NOW I'M EXPERIENCING THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON THAT WILL NOT GO OUT. AFTER NUMEROUS TRIPS TO THE DEALER THAT STARTED WITH LEAKING OIL COOLER LINES, THEY SAID THAT THE CRANK SENSOR WAS GOING BAD. I REPLACED IT, STILL THE LIGHT STAYS ON. NEXT THEY SAY THERE IS A MISFIRE IN CYLINDER 2, I REPLACE THE PLUGS, WIRES, ROTOR, AND CAP. STILL THE LIGHT STAYS ON. ALL OF THESE REPAIRS WITHIN THE FIRST 14 MONTHS OF OWNING THIS JUNK AND IT IS NOT ANYWHERE NEAR BEING PAID FOR. GM NEEDS TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS. I HAVE SPOKE WITH OTHER BLAZER OWNERS AND THEY TOO HAVE EXPERIENCED NOTHING BUT TROUBLE. AND THE BIG 3 WONDER WHY THEY ARE LOSING CUSTOMERS AND MARKET SHARE. HAVE THEY EVER HEARD OF QUALITY? SHE ADVISED IT APPEARED HE WAS WRAPPING UP THE REPAIR JOB. AT 4PM SERVICE ADVISOR STEVE LAMBROSE CALLED AND ADVISED THE TEC TOOK THE CAR OUT FOR A TEST DRIVE.
