Car is displaying a “Steering assist is reduced drive with caution” engine light is on and fan continues to run for 5-8 minutes after car is turned off. Was told by a mechanic it is a P0128 code, coolant thermostat. This is the third time it has happened in the last year. Other two times the codes cleared.
Incident Description: While my wife was driving our 2022 Chevy Blazer at approximately 40 miles per hour, the vehicle’s dashboard suddenly went dark and became unresponsive. Multiple warning lights illuminated simultaneously, including the check engine light, ABS light, and other system alerts. The dashboard appeared to flicker as though it was repeatedly shutting down and restarting. When the brake pedal was applied, it offered no resistance and traveled completely to the floor without slowing the vehicle. To bring the vehicle to a stop, my wife shifted into neutral and allowed it to coast until it came to a complete stop. Fortunately, there were no intersections or other vehicles in front of her at the time, preventing a potential accident. This incident raises serious safety concerns, as both electrical and braking systems appeared to fail simultaneously.
Accelerating without pressing gas pedal and gas pedal won't release with braking. Brakes overheated and this went on 10 minutes before I got it to release the gas pedal so I could safely stop. I almost hit 4 vehicles on the interstate because the gas pedal went to the floor all the sudden.
1. Fuse array has failed, and yes it is available for inspection upon request 2. The car overheats, posing a threat to passengers lives due to having to pull over on the side of the road and being struck by other drivers. 3. Yes it has been confirmed by a dealer/service center. 4. Yes it has been inspected by certified service technicians. 5. Yes, the engine light comes on and the dash says “Engine power reduced” and then “vehicle overheating, please pull off the side of the road and turn engine off”. There were no symptoms leading up to the vehicle overheating. This first occurred in April 2025, and occurred again September 6, 2025. When speaking to the dealership, they stated that this is a widespread issue with Chevrolet Blazers and because of how big this issue is, new parts are on back order until middle to end of October. I cannot drive the vehicle to go grocery shopping or bring my daughter to daycare. Because this is a widespread problem, there needs to be a recall issued. Chevrolet installed faulty fuse arrays in their vehicles and this is their fault for this happening at such a large scale.
Vehicle gear shifter is stiff and difficult to pass from Park to Drive--the gear shifter gets stuck in Neutral often. The Entire Dash and instrument cluster goes black during driving and will not come back on until hours later even after the vehicle has been turned off and back on. This has caused me to be unable to see my speed, turn signals, fuel gauges or any engine controls. This leaves me unable to operate or control my vehicle. This is a huge safety issue when driving as I am unable to determine my speed or see any of my vehicles controls or warnings. The front passenger seat motor has a horrible vibration and struggles to adjust the seat properly. I have contacted multiple dealerships on multiple occasions regarding these issues and have been told that the extended warranty will not cover any of these issues although I was told it would when I purchased. Chevy has refused to offer assistance with Towing the vehicle to a dealership when the cluster stops working and encourages me to drive a vehicle that is not operational. The service manager at one location told me this was a known issue with the vehicle.
The DIC (Driver Information Center) keeps failing since I bought the car. The volume shoots up, the controls will not work, the screen freezes and then goes black, the rear camera stays on in forward motion, it does not always reset after turning off vehicle and opening door. My dealership replaced the module and reprogrammed it. This did not work and it failed shortly after. It went back in the shop again - GM did not have an update for my vin to correct the issue. The dealer is ordering another new DIC this month. It is alarming to be driving the veh and have the volume shoot up to the max and the controls on screen, button or steering wheel will not allow you to fix it. You have to pull over quickly, turn off veh and open door for it to reset. It occurs regularly in my veh. This is a safety issue.
1. the car allow driver to push power off ( engine off) when car is not in P. which is a hazard since driver always want to brake off and get off the car when push power off button. The incident is when I push power off button and open the driver door and almost ready to get off and realize the car is moving since Shifter is not in P which is very dangerous that might hit surrounding and injure drive 2. when car driver door is open, allow driver shift to R or D with the alarm( sound) off. the insident is when I was backing up my car with door not fully closed. I see the door open indication light shows on cluster with 2s alarm then alarm went off and car start moving back. it is really a safety hazard that driver may on the road or freeway with door not fully closed.
On June 1 I parked my blazer in the driveway and went into the house and came back out to my car in flames. I have had lots of electrical issues with the vehicle had it in the dealer to be repaired and reset several times. It was never fixed and now it has gone up in flames.
Dashboard randomly goes black and does not work. This has happened one time while driving and I was unable to determine my speed since the speedometer is digital. I was also unable to see important information like service lights due to the faulty dashboard. Other times it happens right after I start the car in the garage. Also noticed when the dash goes black the climate control system starts to act weird and turns on and off randomly
We were sold a new vehicle with known computer problems. The dealership knew of the defects but sold it to us anyway. They consider it a warranty issue. Chevrolet doesn’t seem to care.
