INTAKE GASKETS LEAKING ANTYFREEZE.THE INTAKE GASKET LEAKING AT FRONT AND REAR OF THE INTAKE AND CYLINDER HEAD,ON BOTH SIDES, FRONT AND REAR. THE GASKETS STARTS TO BRAKE DOWN AND CRACKS AT ALL OF THE WATER JACKETS CAUSE THEM TO LEAK ANTYFREEZE.THIS IS THE THIRD VEHICLE I HAVE DONE ,ALL OF THEM BEING 1996 CHEVY C1500 TRUCK HAVING THE 305 ENGINE .ONE OF THE VEHICLES WAS MINE WHICH ONLY HAD 70,650 MILES ON IT AND WAS MAINTAINED BY ME .I,M A {A.E.S.} CERTIFIED MECH WITH OVER 25YR OF SERVICE.*AK

ENGINE WOULD ABRUPTLY STOP RUNNING. FAILURE WAS NOT DEPENDENT ON VEHICLE SPEED, ENGINE RPM, THROTTLE POSITION, OR OPERATING TEMPERATURE. SHUTOFFS WERE FREQUENT AND CAME COMPLETELY WITHOUT WARNING. AT ANY TIME, THE ENGINE COULD COMPLETELY AND UNRECOVERABLY SHUT DOWN. SHUTOFFS WERE VIOLENT DUE TO HIGH COMPRESSION OF THE DIESEL ENGINE, AND RESULTED IN PARTIAL LOSS OF BRAKING AND STEERING. DRIVING VEHICLE IN PRESENCE OF TRAFFIC WOULD CERTAINLY RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT! FAILURE WAS CORRECTED THROUGH INSTALLATION OF A "PUMP-MOUNTED SOLENOID DRIVER." I KNOW OF OTHERS WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THE IDENTICAL SYMPTOMS AND CONDITIONS.
CYLINDER HEAD CRACKED AT RIGHT REAR EXHAUST VALVE,CHEVROLET DEALER SAYS THE OWNERS MANUAL IS INCORRECT FOR OIL CHANGES OF 7000 MILE INTERVALS
TRAVELING AT ANY SPEED THE VEHICLE WILL CUT OFF WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING, CAUSING LOSS OF ALL POWER . CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED THE DEALER ON A NUMBER OF TIMES. DEALER HAS REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP ,PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. DEALER UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
