LOSS ELECTRICAL AND ENGINE POWER WHILE DRIVING CAR TO WORK. CAR WAS STRANDED ON SIDE OF ROAD. HAD CAR TOWED TO REPAIR CENTER. TECHNICIANS REPLACED COMPUTER MODULE AND OPTI-SPARK DISTRIBUTOR . A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER CAR WOULD NOT START. SYMPTOMS SIMILAR TO BAD BATTERY. REPLACED BATTERY, CAR WOULD STILL NOT START. HAD CAR TOWED TO REPAIR CENTER. AT CAR REPAIR CENTER CAR STARTED WITHOUT ANY SERVICING BEING PERFORMED. REPAIRMAN COULD NOT FIND OR EXPLAIN POSSIBLE REASON FOR CONDITION. ABOUT TWO WEEKS LATER ANOTHER SUDDEN LOSS OF ELECTRICAL AND ENGINE POWER WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM THE GROCERY STORE. MANAGED TO COAST CAR TO A SAFE LOCATION OFF THE ROAD. AFTER A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, POWER RETURNED AND WAS ABLE TO START CAR AND DRIVE THE REST OF THE WAY HOME. *TR

MY DAUGHTER PUSHED IN THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER THAT IS WHEN SHE SAW A SPARK AND A TRAIL OF FIRE GOING TO TOP OF STEREO AND OVER TO STEERING AREA. SHE PARKED CAR AND CALLED THE FIRE DEPT. THE ONLY THING LEFT OF MY CAR IS BACK TIRES AND TAILLIGHTS. I HAVE HAD THE ANTI LOCK BRAKE LIGHT STAYING ON. WIPERS WORK ONLY WHEN AND IF THEY FEEL LIKE IT. THEY DON'T COVER GLASS ON DRIVER SIDE WINDOW. NOT BEING ABLE TO GO UP OR DOWN IF YOU DIDN'T WAIT AN HOUR IN BETWEEN. THIS CAR HAS ONLY 70000 MILES ALL FACTORY NOTHING ADDED ON. *PH

ON NOV.12, 1999, I PARKED MY CAR AT A GASOLINE STATION. I PUMPED SOME GAS AND AS I PROCEEDED TO TURN MY VEHICLE ON, MY ENGINE WOULD NOT START. I CHECKED TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS ONLY TO FIND ALL THE FUSES IN MY CAR BURNED ALONG WITH ALL THE ELECTRICAL WIRING. MY VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO SHOP AND THE OWNER INFORMED ME THAT EVERYTHING HAD BURNED UP, THE ABS SYSTEM, THE COMPUTER, COMPUTER CHIPS, ALL THE ELECTRICAL COMPONETS WERE BURNED. HE COULD NOT EXPLAIN HOW THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED. THE OWNER TOOK 3 MONTHS TO FIX IT. IT WAS SO EXPENSIVE THAT WE ONLY FIXED A FEW OF THE THINGS, WE DID AWAY WITH THE ABS SYSTEM AND THE AIR BAG. BECAUSE WE HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS WE WERE UNABLE TO MAKE A PAYMENT ON THE VEHICLE CAUSING IT TO BE REPOSSESED. I RECALL READING AN ARTICLE IN CONSUMER REPORTS MENTIONING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS BUT IT DIDN'T SPECIFY WHICH ONES. IF YOU COULD GIVE US SOME INFORMATION REGARDING THIS, IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
