The tcm in my 5 cobalt is not working properly I've tested and replaced everything els and had the tcm reprogrammed still getting problems aiming back to the tcm it wasn't looked at by a business
Ignition switch had a previous recall, but now the ignition switch won’t turn the car on on the first 5-10 switches with any keys, or spare keys. Steering wheel shakes/wobbles when exceeding over 50mph.

I GOT THE CAR A FEW YEARS AGO ONLY DROVE IT FOR 5 MONTHS FOUND OUT ABOUT THE RECALL. I HAD TO PAY FOR THE CAR TO GO NASSAU BAHAMAS. THEY NEVER SHIP IT FOR ME .THEY PAID THE IGNITION REPAIRS NEVER GAVE ME A RENTAL CAR. THEN I CALLED BACK A FEW MONTHS ABOUT A WARRANTY SAY 60,000 MILES OR 5 YEAR THEY TELL ANOTHER RECALL FOR THE SAME THING. SO I STARTED CHECKING COME TO FIND ALL KINDA LAW SUIT ON THAT TYPE MODEL. VEHICLE WOULDN'T START. LIKE THE BATTERY WAS DEAD, WOULDN'T EVEN TRY TO TURN OVER. GO TO TURN THE KEY OFF AND POP MY TRUNK WHERE THE BATTERY IS LOCATED AND I CAN NOT GET MY KEY TO TURN ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE OFF POSITION, AS A RESULT I CANNOT REMOVE MY KEY. THE SPEEDOMETER READ 30MPH EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE NEVER STARTED AND WASN'T MOVING. NON OF THE ELECTRONICS WERE WORKING SO I WAS UNABLE TO POP MY TRUNK. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE AND EVENTUALLY THE VEHICLE WILL START AND WHEN IT DOES THE BATTERY LIGHT STAYS ON AND THE DASH READS; ENGINE PERFORMANCE LOW. THE TRANSMISSION WILL SURGE AS I AM DRIVING AND I CANNOT GO FASTER THAN 30MPH. I HAVE EVEN HAD THE CAR SHUT OFF COMPLETLY WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. AFTER ANYWHERE BETWEEN A FEW HOURS TO A FEW WEEKS THE VEHICLE WILL STOP ACTING UP AND DRIVE NORMAL FOR A WHILE. AGIAN THE NORMAL LASTS ANYWHERE BETWEEN A FEW HOURS TO A FEW MONTHS AS WELL. THE POWER STERING ALSO FLASHES ON THE DASH AND SOMETIMES CUTS COMPLEATLY OUT.

EVEN THOUGH ALL THE RECALLS HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF, WHILE IN MOTION, AT ANY TIME AND ANY SPEED, THE DASH LIGHTS STARTS FLASHING AND YOU GET THE MESSAGE POWER STEERING ON MESSAGE CENTER, TC LIGHT COMES ON, LIGHT THAT SHOWS PADLOCK SYMBOL COMES ON, RPM NEEDLE JUMPS UP AND DOWN, STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP, MOTOR SURGES AND SHAKES, AND YOU HEAR ALL TYPES OF CLICKING SOUNDS BELOW GEAR SHIFTER. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS THING AND CHEVROLET/GM JUST CANNOT SEEM TO FIX THIS ISSUE OR EVEN FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THE 2005 COBALT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND ANY OTHER YEAR OF COBALT HAVING THIS ISSUE. THE ONLY REMEDY IS TO PULL TO SIDE OF ROAD, SHUT OFF VEHICLE AND RESTART AND HOPE IT DOES NOT ACT UP AGAIN. I JUST WONDER HOW MAY DEATHS HAVE HAPPENED ALREADY BECAUSE OF THIS FAULTY GM PRODUCT AND NO ONE KNEW IT WAS BECAUSE OF WHAT THE COBALT DID, LOCKED UP ON ITS DRIVER.

THE VEHICLE WILL PERIODICALLY JERK/HICCUP AT RANDOM WHILE DRIVING. ON JANUARY 8, 2015 WHILE TRAVELING ON THE EXPRESSWAY, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO RANDOMLY SPUTTER/JERK/HICCUP. THE VEHICLE DID NOT LOOSE POWER, OR WAS THERE ANY INDICATION FROM DASH BOARD ICONS OF ANY MALFUNCTION. THERE WAS NOT ANY VISIBLE WARNINGS SIGNS TO ALERT A FAULTY SYSTEM. THIS HAS OCCURRED PREVIOUSLY, WHILE TRAVELING THROUGHOUT THE CITY AT SPEEDS OF 25-45 MPH. DURING THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT, TRAVELING SPEEDS VARIED FROM 50-70 MPH ON THE EXPRESSWAY. THIS PARTICULAR INSTANCE I WAS DRIVING A 60 MILE TRIP AND THIS JERKING OCCURRED 7-10 TIMES. THE FIRST TIME THIS OCCURRED WAS PROBABLY 1.5 YEARS AGO. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC AFTER THE FIRST INSTANCE, WITHOUT ANYTHING BEING DETECTED OR A DIAGNOSIS. THE ISSUE IS PROGRESSIVELY WORSENING. IT IS BEGINNING TO HAPPEN MORE FREQUENTLY. HE HAD TO WAIT UNTIL THE VEHICLE COOLED DOWN ALMOST TWO HOURS AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE VERY SLOWLY TO HIS RESIDENCE. HE ADVISED THEM IN 2005 THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH HIS IGNITION AFTER HE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN JULY 2005. THE FAILURE OCCURRED IN NOVEMBER OF 2005. THE DEALER DROVE 20 MPH TO TEST DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND WAS UNABLE TO REPRODUCE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ADVISED THEM THAT HE WAS DRIVING 65 MPH WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. HE CANNOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE ANTI FREEZE CONTINUED TO LEAK OUT OF THE VEHICLE. HE WAS ADVISED THAT THE STRUTS, BUSHINGS, TIMING CHAIN, LINK AND THE WATER PUMP WAS LEAKING BECAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR HIM TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED AT A DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD TAKE 20 DAYS TO A MONTH BEFORE THE MANUFACTURER COULD SEND SOMEONE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT HIS RESIDENCE. THE DEALER NOTIFIED HIM TODAY TO ASK IF THE MANUFACTURER SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AND DIAGNOSED ARE NO LONGER IN BUSINESS. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS OVER 120,000 MILES.

SITTING AT A TURN LIGHT, CARS STARTED TO MOVE AND I STARTED TO ACCELERATE WHEN I HEARD A LOUD POP NOISE (WAS NOT GOING OVER MORE THAN 10MPH). SO I PULLED OVER AND LOOKED OPENED THE HOOD TO FIND MY OIL CAP, FILTER, A BLACK PIECE, AND SPRING HAD POPPED OUT OF THE OIL FILTER LOCATION WHICH WAS IN THE BLOCK. OIL HAD BEEN SPEWED ALL OVER. I TOOK THE OIL CAP TO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AND THE SERVICE GUY SAID HE HAD NEVER SEEN THE OIL CAP AND FILTER POP OUT OF THE BLOCK, HE EXAMINED THE CAP AND ONLY NOTICED ONE MINOR BREAK IN THE THREADS OF THE CAP. HE SAID THAT THE BLACK PIECE AND THE SPRING THAT GO IN THE CAP MUST HAVE FAILED WHICH IN TURN CAUSE THE CAP TO POP OUT OF THE BLOCK, HE ALSO TOLD ME TO LOOK AT THE BLOCK TO MAKE SURE IT WAS NOT CRACKED. I THEN INSPECTED BLOCK TO MAKE SURE IT WAS NOT CRACKED, WHICH IT WAS NOT, AND HAD A NEW CAP, FILTER AND OIL INSTALLED. *TR

IT WAS WRITTEN ON INVOICE, " CAR DRIVEN FOR 26 MILES TROUBLE FREE HAS POSSIBLE INOP ISSUE, BUT IS OPERATING AS DESIGNED."
