The fuel tank has an evap leak that somehow breaks on top the tank so it leaks the gas vapors and could potentially start a fire but the part that breaks is a non serviceable part so it can’t be fixed without purchasing a whole new gas tank that isn’t cheap. My other concern is the infamous grounding issue with the wires on the ground g105 I believe right next to oil filter that grounds the transmission and engine control modules well it shorts at times when driving and suddenly your car dies while driving how scary it could cause a wreak and kill somebody it’s a very scary issue that constantly comes back even after trying to re ground it needs to be recalled and fixed it’s going to kill somebody and it’s a well known issue for this make and model that should have already gotten attention to be resolved.

Before I get into all of it there has never been an accident not yet at least. I do everything I can to try an stop that from happening, (but accidents do happen) only because I know my car could kill on me so I’m extra careful. 1) After I get gas I’m my car the car won’t start right away. I have to restart it a couple times an step in the gas an rev up wasting the gas I just put in to get it to start. 2) When I stop an start to pull out of somewhere on to a main road the car will just die on me so I’m stuck pulling out in traffic trying to get my car to start again. It’s when I come to a stop an pull out it just kills on me. So I have to make sure no one else is coming an I have enough time to be able to restart it otherwise I’m worried when I pull out of anywhere or stop an go that another car will smack into me because my car just died on me in the middle of the road/ pulling out an crossing lanes. SUPER SCARY! 3) Let get into the next issue so anytime I run my ac my car starts to do this jumping thing like it wants to kill on me not to mention it has killed on me with the ac on (I live in Louisiana an it’s too hot not to have ac plus I have 3 kids) what’s sad is the ac works fine but if you want the car to maybe not die then turn it off an you have a better chance of it not killing off on you but not always a guarantee. So ill run it for second to try an cool down so I’m not drenched in sweat but I have no other choice to turn it off so the car doesn’t just die on me. This refers back to the 2nd problem I make sure it’s off anytime I pull out of anywhere thinking that would help it from killing on me while trying to get out of anywhere but it doesn’t but I can tell you If the ac is on when I pull out when I start to go it dies right as I’m in the middle of the road every time never fails. Mechanics have replaced parts trying to fix the issue, but it still happens I can’t keep buying/fixing things for nada, ongoing problems since buying.
Fuel line leaking similar to the recall on 2008-10 Cobalts -- gas puddles or drips from leaking fuel lines near the left rear wheel well, near the exhaust pipe and muffler. The leak is caused by corrosion of the metal fuel lines that are secured to the body of the car by plastic blocks.
My 2006 Chevy Cobalt has a fuel leak which was recently a recall. I have been told by several dealerships that it will not be repaired for free. How can this be? I didn't know recalls expired. It's a safety issue and the manufacturer's responsibility. Please advise me on next steps.
Last year or so, even before than, I noticed suddle fuel odor smell & noticed few drops by left rear wheel area...it has progressingly gotten worse and now puddles and smells of fuel constantly...all which I traced back to fuel lines by rear exhaust heat shield area where it's very rusty, inline elsewhere around car area...seems to be bad design and or manufacturing issue...also very common I noticed with cobalt saturn Pontiac models sharing same design & platform.. Very dangerous and needs to be corrected by gm!
My headlight an blinker quit working new bulbs an all new wiring it it still will not work My trunk button also just stopped working an the fuse is not blown. I even replaced it just to make sure still nothing. Door panel clips won’t stay in bought new ones same thing so now my handle is coming apart an my door doesn’t want to shut bc it thinks I’m still holding the handle.. Fuel everytime I get gas I have to crank my car a few times and press on the gas before I can get it to go otherwise it just dies on me I’ve had it looked at they said it was something about how my car does not know when to stop releasing air I think. My blinkers don’t turn off unless I do it manually. The seals on my door is no good anytime it rains it’s coming inside of my car an since the door panel won’t stay on it’s coming straight into my car
I began noticing a slight drop in fuel mileage at first. Started smelling fuel while parked and only getting 200 miles to a tank. Noticed the supply and return fuel lines where damp. Dropped the tank and the fuel lines at the pump were cracked a little. I temporarily fixed thos with jb weld but dont expect it to last.
Fuel lines are rusted where the heat tape is around them by the exhaust. This has caused them to rust and no is leaking fuel. I am worried that it's going to catch fire. This is my daughter's car and is a very poor design.
There is a recall for some vin numbers on the 2006 Chevy cobalt (recall # 09V419000). My vin number was not included but the exact recalled part was also defective on my car. I wanted to let you know because there are probably several more vins that should be included in this recall, as my car is proof of that.
HAD TO CHANGE MY FUEL PUMP DUE TO A CRACK ON IT. MY KEY GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION SWITCH IN ORDER TO TAKE IT OUT I HAVE TO PUSH A BUTTON UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL. I TO CHANGE MY STEERING SHAFT BECAUSE IT DOES A CLACKING NOISE.

WHILE DRIVING ON EXPRESSWAY, CAR WENT DEAD> HAD TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY STOP. POWER STEERING WENT OUT, BUT AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR IT WAS OK. IT KEEPS HAPPENING OFF AND ON- ON OCCASIONS. I KEPT SMELLING GAS, TOOK IT TO CAR REPAIR SHOP WAS TOLD I COULD NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE, WAS TOLD THE GAS TANK HAD TO BE REPLACED OR WHATEVER THE PART INSIDE THE GAS TANK. NOTE: WHEN THE POWER STEERING PROBLEM ARRIVED I WAS LEAVING GOING TO WORK. I STARTED THE CAR BUT THE STEERING WAS HARD TO TURN SO I PULLED BACK INTO PARKING SPACE AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. I RESTARTED AFTER A FEW MINUTES-WAS ABLE TO STEER OK. UPON SMELLING GAS THIS WENT ON FOR SERVAL DAYS. I THOUGHT IT WAS FUMES FROM OTHER CARS. I WOULD SMELL GAS WHILE DRIVING IT. ONE DAY AS I PULLED UP TO WORK I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND NOTICED SOMETHING WET NEXT TO MY FRONT TIRE. I COULD SMELL GAS FUMES. I TOOK IT TO REPAIR SHOP THE NEXT DAY. SHOP TOLD ME THE CAR COULD HAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE.

THE COMPANY WRAPPED A HEAT SHIELD FIBER AROUND A BARE METAL FUEL LINE CAUSING PREMATURE FAILURE OF THE LINE IN THAT SPECIFIC LOCATION DUE TO RUST FROM THE TRAPPED MOISTURE. THE FUEL LINE BURSTS CAUSING A STEADY FLOW OF GASOLINE TO POUR FROM BENEATH THE VEHICLE CAUSING AN EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS SITUATION. THE CAR CONTINUES TO FUNCTION, LEAVING A TRAIL OF GASOLINE EVERYWHERE YOU GO. THE HEAT WRAP DOES NOT APPEAR TO AFFECT THE BRAKE LINE DUE TO IT'S BLACK COATING. THE FUEL LINES SHOULD ALSO BE PROTECTED IN THIS AREA.

VERY STRONG FUEL SMELL STARTED OCCURRING THAT WAS NOTICEABLE EVEN AFTER LONG PERIODS AFTER PARKING. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION A FUEL LEAK WAS DISCOVERED ON THE OUTLET OF THE FUEL PUMP WHICH IS INTEGRAL TO THE FUEL TANK. IT APPEARS THERE IS A CRACK OR SOME SORT OF DEFECT CAUSING THE EXTERIOR PIECE ON THAT FUEL PUMP TO FAIL. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 64,300 MILES ON IT.

I HAVE NOT PINPOINTED THE EXACT LEAK LOCATION BUT I HAVE A PICTURE DISPLAYING THE FUEL LINE COVERED IN WHAT SEEMS LIKE AN ALUMINUM FOIL TO KEEP THE LINES FROM HEATING UP. CLEARLY THIS DOESN'T WORK. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AND I BELIEVE IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.

ON 7-20-20 I SPOKE WITH STEPHANIE ( 1-800-222-1020) ON THE NHTSA SITE, WERE I GOT THE PHONE NUMBER. I TOLD HER I ENTERED MY VIN AND FOUND THERE WERE 6 RECALLS ON MY 2006 CHEVY COBALT. I EXPLAINED TO HER ON 7-15-20, I LEFT FOR WORK BUT NOTICED MY POWER STEERING WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. I WAS AFRAID I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE THE TURN ONTO THE EXPRESSWAY BECAUSE OF THE STEERING. I WENT AND PURCHASED POWER STEERING FLUID, ONLY TO LEARN THERE WAS NO PLACE TO PUT IT. STEPHANIE AND I LOOKED AT THE RECALLS TOGETHER. WE DISCUSSED THE NUMEROUS RECALLS SHE SAW ALONG WITH ME. SHE SET-UP A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT HERE IN CONWAY, ARK WERE I NOW RESIDE FOR 7-23-20 @ 7:00AM. SUPERIOR DEALERSHIP. I ARRIVED AND (LISA) ASKED IF I HAD AN APPOINTMENT, I SAID YES. I TOLD HER WHAT MY ISSUE WAS AND SHE WENT INTO MY CAR AND PULLED OUT SOMETHING UNDER THE DASH. SHE HAD IN HER HAD SOMETHING SHE SAID WOULD LIGHT UP RED IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM. I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO PLACE THE VEHICLE ON A MACHINE IN ORDER TO FIND OUT THE PROBLEMS. SHE THEN TOLD ME THERE WERE THREE RECALLS ON THE CAR BUT THEY ALL HAD BEEN FIXED. AND STATED I WOULD BE CHARGED $ 150.00 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. I EXPLAINED TO HER I HAD NOT RECEIVED ANY COMMUNICATIONS PERTAINING TO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. I CLEARLY SAW ON THE NHTSA SITE RECALLS FOR , THE GAS TANK WHICH I HAD TO REPLACE BECAUSE IT WAS LEAKING GAS. I REPLACED A FUEL THROTTLE BECAUSE WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY I LOST POWER IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE AIR BAG BECAUSE IT IS SHOWING IT'S OFF, SO I KNOW IF I WERE TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT IT WILL NOT DEPLOY. I BELIEVE THE RECALLS I SAW ON THE SITE WERE LEGIT RECALLS. I'M NOT CERTAIN HOW THEY DISAPPEARED FROM THE SITE WHEN I SHOWED UP FOR MY APPOINTMENT ONLY A FEW DAYS LATER. I WAS TOLD I COULD PAY THE $150 BECAUSE THEIR TECHS HAD TO BE PAID OR GET RID OF THE CAR.

I WAS DRIVING MY CAR AND I NOTICED A STRONG FUEL ODOR COMING FROM MY CAR. I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT. LEFT THE CAR RUNNING AND SAW A HUGE PUDDLE OF FUEL DRIPPING DOWN ONTO THE GROUND FROM THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK. ONE OF THE LINES RIGHT AT THE FITTING INTO THE FUEL PUMP IS CRACKED. THEY HAVE THIS ALREADY RECALLED, BUT ONLY IN 15 STATES AND MINE ISN'T ONE OF THEM. I WANT CHEVY TO ISSUE A 50 STATE RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. MY CAR COULD OF CAUGHT FIRE AND I COULD OF DIED. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE. A YEAR AGO I HAD TO REPLACE THE FUEL LINES FROM THE FUEL FILTER TO THE FUEL RAIL IN THE ENGINE BECAUSE THE METAL TUBING RUSTED OUT AND CRACKED. THEY NEED TO BE STAINLESS STEEL NOT POT METAL. THEIR IS NO RECALL ON THOSE FUEL LINES, BUT I READ LOTS OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME ISSUE. I DON'T HAVE ANY PHOTOS ONLY VIDEO OF IT DRIPPING.

THE NEWEST PROBLEM AND THE SCARIEST ONE TO ME IS NOW A GAS LEAK. I WENT OUT AND STARTED MY CAR, STARTED TO REVERSE AND THEN SMELLED A STRONG ODOR OF GAS. I STOPPED AND NOTICED MY GAS GAUGE ACTUALLY GOING DOWN. SO I SHUT THE CAR OFF HURRIED UP AND GOT MY KIDS OUT AND THEN SAW THE GAS POURING ON THE ROAD FROM UNDER MY CAR. I CAN'T BELIEVE THE PROBLEMS THAT I'VE HAD WITH THIS CAR. CHEVY NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THESE PROBLEMS. IT'S THEIR CHEAP MISTAKES. THE ONLY REASON I HAVE CONTINUED TO KEEP THE CAR IS BECAUSE IT BELONGED TO MY LITTLE BROTHER WHO DIED IN A TRAGIC CAR CASH WITH HIS PREGNANT FIANC AND MY FATHER. SO I HAVEN'T WANTED TO PART WITH IT. THERE IS A "SILENT RECALL" ON THIS PART, BUT NOT FOR MICHIGAN CARS (WHY NOT MICHIGAN CARS.. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM .. THE STALLING ISSUE AND THE FIRE ISSUE). ALTHOUGH THIS "SILENT RECALL" OR THE "SPECIAL WARRANTY" GM ISSUED TO COVER THIS PART DOES NOT EXPIRE, THE TIME TO GET REIMBURSED EXPIRED IN 2014, WHICH MAKES NO SENSE. WE HAVE A 2006 CHEVY COBALT WITH 81000 MILES. THIS VEHICLE BELONGED TO MY FATHER WHO IN TURN SAVED IT FOR MY SON. THE PROBLEM THAT I'M HAVING IS THAT WE SAVED THIS VEHICLE SO THAT IT WOULD BE A GOOD STARTER CAR FOR MY SON BUT WE HAVE SINCE FOUND OUT THAT IT IS UNSAFE. WE TOOK THE CAR TO A LOCAL AUTO REPAIR SHOP FOR SOME WORK TO BE DONE ON THE CAR FOR THE FRONT STRUTS TO FIND OUT THAT IT HAS A GAS LEAK. UNKNOWN AS TO HOW LONG THE LEAK HAVE BEEN GOING ON. TURNS OUT THAT THERE IS A RECALL #090226 FOR THE LEAK BUT FOR THE FUEL PUMP BUT NOT FOR THE FUEL LINE. I WAS TOLD BY THE CHEVY SERVICE DEPARTMENT TECH THAT IT IS UNKNOWN HOW THE PROBLEM MAY HAVE OCCURED OTHER THAN BEING OUTSIDE OR WHAT TYPE OF LANDING THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON. I'VE HAD 3 DIFFERENT VEHICLES & NEVER HAD A FUEL LINE LEAKAGE PROBLEM LET ALONE HAVING ANY TYPE OF PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE BY BEING OUTSIDE OR BEING PARKED ON THE STREET. NOW IF THE FUEL LINE & FUEL PUMP WORK HAND IN HAND WHY WOUNDN'T THE FUEL LINE BE APART OF THIS RECALL. AS A CUSTOMER, I DO BELIEVE THAT IF THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP THEN THEY WOULD REPLACE THE FUEL LINE IN ORDER FOR THE PARTS TO WORK PROPERLY. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE CAR WITH 97,048 MILES, BUT THE RECALL ONLY APPLIES IN WARM STATES (TEXAS, ARIZONA, CALIFORNIA, AND NEVADA)THE FUEL TANK WAS REMOVED AND HE FOUND A SMALL LEAK ON THE FITTING AT TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP MODULE. THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED AND RETESTED FOR LEAKS. I PAID FOR THE FUEL PUMP AND THE WORK. I WILL NEVER BUY A GM CAR AGAIN!

THIS PROBLEM IS VERY PREVALENT IN THIS MODEL. WHEN I LOOK AT THE RECALLS, THE PARTICULAR PROBLEM IS LISTED, BUT FOR SOME REASON, CHEVY MADE IT REAL CONVENIENT TO SAY THAT ONLY CERTAIN CHEVY COBALTS 2006 WERE GOING TO BE FIXED. AS I ENTERED THE VIN NUMBER TO CHECK IT, MINE STATES THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR MY CAR. MY CAR FITS ALL THE CRITERIA, WHY IS IT THAT MINE DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL? I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW, IF MY CAR DID NOT "QUALIFY" FOR THE RECALL, THEN WHAT 2006 CHEVY COBALTS QUALIFIED FOR THE GAS LEAK REPAIR? I NOTICED A VERY BAD FUEL LEAK FROM UNDER MY VEHICLE BACK IN THE BEGINNING OF MAY 2015. I KEPT MY VEHICLE PARKED UNTIL I COULD GET THE PROBLEM FIXED. THE MIDDLE OF MAY I JACKED UP MY VEHICLE TO SEE WHERE THE LEAK WAS, I NOTICED IT WAS COMING FROM TWO OF MY FUEL LINES THAT RUN THE LENGTH OF MY VEHICLE, THE LEAK WAS IN THE SAME SPOT ON BOTH LINES, IN A BENT PART OF THE LINES HELD UP BY A CLIP. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC SHOP ON JULY 23 TO GET A PRICE AND TO GET IT FIXED. I DIDN'T HAVE AS MUCH AS IT COST TO GET FIXED. BUT THE OWNER OF THE SHOP DIDN'T WANT ME TO DRIVE OFF IN MY VEHICLE, HE SAID THE IT WAS WAY TO DANGEROUS AND COULD CATCH FIRE. THE REASON FOR MY COMPLAINT, I CALLED THE GM DEALERSHIP TO GET A PRICE ON THE FUEL LINES. I HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP, SPARK PLUGS, INTAKE, MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR, AND BATTERY. I WILL BE TRYING THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR NEXT. UPON IGNITION THIS COULD IGNITE A FIRE. SEVERAL ONLINE COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO RECALL FORUMS MENTIONING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE COBALT MODEL.IN THE PASSED THEIR HAS BEEN A RECALL, BUT ONLY FOR THE FUEL PUMP,NOT INCLUDING THE FUEL LINES. ALSO, MANY INCLUDING MYSELF HAVE WENT TO THE CHEVROLET DEAL TO GET THIS PROBLEM SOLVED. OUR 2006 CHEVY COBALT VIN WAS TOOK IN FOR REPAIR IN NOV 2013, WE WERE TOLD WE NEEDED A STARTER BUT NEVER WHY, IT WAS BECAUSE THERE WAS A GAS LEAK,WE FOUND OUT IN AUG 2014 WHEN IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. AGAIN OCT 2014 THE AUTO DID THE SAME THING WE WERE TOLD THE REST OF THE RECALL PARTS WERE IN AND TO BRING IT IN, ALL THE TIME WE WERE DRIVING A UNSAFE CAR ND WAS NEVER TOLD. WE TOOK THE CAR IN NOV 2014 WITH ONLY THE BATTERY LIGHT ON A NEW BATTERY (LESS THAN 48 HRS OLD AND THE 3RD ONE IN A YEAR). WHEN GOT THE CAR BACK THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON, THE POWER STEERING LIGHT WAS ON AND THE T/C LIGHTS WERE ON THE SPEED ODOMETER NOR GAS HAND WORKS, NOR A/C AND HEAT, BUT THEY REPLACED THE FUSE WHEN WE TOOK IT BACK. THE CAR WILL NOT CHANGE GEARS AND IS REALLY LOUD. THEY HAS US TO BRING IT BACK AND DID NOT AGAIN DO A DIAGNOSTIC TEST JUST SAY IN HIS OPINION THE AUTO NEEDS A NEW POWER STEERING MONITOR (POWER STEERING AFTER RECALL REPLACEMENT WENT OUT, DRIVES SLUGGISH LIKE IT IS GOING TO STOP IN TRAFFIC LIKE IT DID BEFORE THE RECALLS BUT WORSE. IT IS AS LOUD AS A 5TH WHEELER TRUCK, THEREFORE IT IS HARD TO HEARD EMERGENCY VEHICLES. NONE OF THESE SAFETY MATTER OR ISSUES WERE OCCURRING BEFORE THE RECALL PARTS WERE PUT ON. I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT ALTHOUGH IT WAS WITHIN THE TEN YEAR LIMIT IT WAS OVER 120,000 MILES AND THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE IT UNDER THE SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT. OBVIOUSLY THIS CAR IS EIGHT YEARS OLD AND THE CHANCES OF ANY VEHICLE THAT OLD BEING UNDER 120,000 MILES IS ABSURD! AND I WAS TOLD IN A VERY RUDE MANNER THAT IF MY CAR BLEW UP BECAUSE OF THIS IT WAS NOT THEIR PROBLEM. AT THE TIME, I ISSUED A COMPLAINT AFTER HAVING TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP ON MY 2006 CHEVY COBALT BECAUSE OF A CRACK IN THE PORT ON TOP OF THE PUMP THAT IS SITUATED ON TOP OF THE FUEL TANK. ON 3/11/2012 THE REPLACEMENT PUMP ALSO FAILED IN THE EXACT SAME SPOT. AT THE TIME, I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE ENGINE STALLED. I LATER LEARNED THERE WAS FUEL LEAKING ALL OVER THE ROAD UNDER MY CAR. AFTER BEING TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP, I WAS TOLD THAT THE SAME PART HAD FAILED AGAIN. HE INFORMED ME THAT I WAS TO CONTACT GM DIRECTLY, WHEN I CONTACTED GM THEY STATED THAT THIS PARTICULAR CAR WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. WHEN I MENTIONED THE OTHER RECALLS ON THE SAME COBALT CARS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE OTHER THAN DIRECT ME TO PLACE A COMPLAINT WITH THE HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION. WE NOTICED A STRONG FUEL ODOR COMING FROM THE CAR. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION WE DISCOVERED A PUDDLE OF FUEL UNDER THE CAR. DEALER FOUND THE METAL LINES PART OF THE FUEL PUMP MODULE ARE LEAKING FUEL. IT WAS NECESSARY TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP MODULE. OUR DEALER OFFERED TO PAY 50% OF THE COST. MY VEHICLE'S VIN NUMBER FALLS BETWEEN THOSE TWO NUMBERS BUT ACCORDING TO A CHEVROLET CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT, WHO ACKNOWLEDGED THE RECALL ON THE FAULTY PART, MY VIN # IS NOT VALID FOR THE RECALL. HOWEVER, THE STATE OF OWNERSHIP OR REGISTRATION DOES NOT FALL INTO THE LIST OF STATES INDICATED ON THE RECALL. FOR A LITTLE OVER TWO WEEKS, WE HAVE SMELLED GASOLINE AROUND THE CAR AFTER DRIVING. THE ODOR SEEMED TO BE AROUND THE TANK FILL. THE DEALERSHIP WANTED 100 DOLLARS TO FIX IT AND ANYWHERE FROM 200 TO 1000 TO FIX IT THEY SAID SO I HAD MY MECHANIC FRIEND HELP ME DROP THE GAS TANK WHEN WE DISCOVERED GAS ON THE FUEL TANK TO FIND THAT ITS LEAKING FROM THE FUEL PUMP ON TOP OF THE GAS TANK. AFTER SOME RESEARCH I FOUND THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT NUMEROUS COBALT OWNERS ARE HAVING AND ACTUALLY HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR ONLY CERTAIN VIN'S IN CERTAIN STATES. I DON'T SEE WHY THE RECALL WOULD NOT BE TO ALL CARS THAT GM PUT THE FAULTY FUEL PUMP IN.
