THE VEHICLE ANTI THEFT LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON. WHEN THIS OCCURS THE VEHICLE JERKS IN DRIVE, HARD TO STOP, WHEEL WILL LOSE POWER STEERING IN DRIVE, AND ALL NEEDLES WILL MOVE. THE RPM, MPH, AND GAS NEEDLE CONTINUES TO FLUCTUATE. THE GAS NEEDLE WILL INDICATE LOW FUEL WHEN FUEL IS PRESENT. I CAN NEVER KNOW WHAT SPEED I'M DOING. THE VEHICLE FLASHES POWER STEERING DIGITALLY. THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF IN MID DRIVE! TAKEN TO MANY MECHANICS INCLUDING DAVE GILL CHEVROLET AND NO ONE FULLY DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE!

MY VEHICLE TRANSMISSION WAS STUCK IN PARK, IT WOULDN'T START AND WOULD STILL ROLL WHEN IN PARK. WE HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION IT WAS A FAULTY TRANSMISSION CABLE CLIP OR INSTALLED IMPROPERLY. I HAVE CONTACTED GM ABOUT A RECALL AND SAID IT WAS CLOSED DUE TO A DEALERS INSPECTION IN 2012. I HAVE SINCE TAKEN IT IN TO GET FIXED AND IT APPEARS IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE RECALLED PART. OVER THE YEARS, THE SWITCH HAS FAILED, WHICH LEFT HER STRANDED. I JUST FOUND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT DUE TO FAILURE WITH THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST MOTOR / SYSTEM. AS I LOOKED IT UP I FOUND 2 ADDITIONAL RECALLS WHICH CHEVROLET WAS SUPPOSED TO CONTACT ME ON ALL 3. I WAS NOT CONTACTED, AND DO NOT KNOW IF MY CAR HAS HAD THE REPAIRS DONE PRIOR TO ME PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IN JANUARY 2011. THE 2 OTHER RECALLS ARE AS FOLLOWS. SHIFTER CABLE PROBLEM WITH CAR NOT IN PROPER GEAR, CLIP ON CABLE, IF NOT INSTALLED PROPERLY, CHEVROLET IS SUPPOSED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE CABLE. TRIED MOVED THE STEERING COLUMN AND IT WOULD NOT TURN TO START. TALKED WITH A LOCKSMITH AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WASN'T THE IGNITION BUT THE POWER TRAIN COLUMN SHIFT SINCE NEITHER OF THE KEYS WORKED. I SPOKE WITH THE CHEVROLET CONSUMER HOT LINE (1-800-630-2438) AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOT A RECALL ON MY VIN. I ASSURED THEM THAT I HAVE A VEHICLE WITH 85,546 MILES THAT I CAN'T STARTED WITH THE FIRST 11 NUMBERS OF THE VIN RECALL. *TR

THIS MODEL HANDLES TERRIBLY ON WET PAVEMENT. DOESN'T BRAKE WELL ON WET PAVEMENT, AND TIRES SPIN WHEN STARTING FROM A STOPPED POSITION. INCIDENT 1. CHANGING LANES ON I270 MD. GOING ABOUT 50 MPH. AND SLOWED DOWN TO MOVE ONE LANE TO THE RIGHT. GOING FROM A LESS USED WETTER LANE TO LANE TO THE RIGHT, WHICH WASN'T QUITE AS WET. CAR SPUN OUT TWICE AND HIT THE JERSEY WALL TWICE. THEN I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR. FAIRLY HEAVY TRAFFIC, AND NO OTHER VEHICLES INVOLVED, THANK GOD. STATE POLICE WERE ON THE SHOULDER FOR TRAFFIC GOING IN THE OTHER DIRECTION ACROSS FROM ME BUT DID NOT COME TO THE CAR. INCIDENT 2. RENTED ANOTHER OF THE SAME MODEL. WHENEVER THE STREET WAS WET, THE CAR DID NOT BRAKE WELL. SEEMED TO BE VERY SHORT PERIODS OF NOT BRAKING. WHEN SLOWLY STARTING FROM A STOPPED POSITION, THE WHEELS SPUN AND THEN TOOK HOLD. COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN ANOTHER SITUATION FOR SPINNING OUT. ENTERPRISE SAID THERE WERE NO RECALLS. INSURANCE COMPANY RAISED MY RATES FROM $103 TO $167 PER MONTH! *TR

2009 CHEVROLET COBALT. CONSUMER EXPRESS DISCONTENT REGARDING RECALL REPAIRS. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN SHE ATTEMPTED TO BACK OUT OF A PARKING SPACE, THE VEHICLE BARELY WANTED TO MOVE. SHE APPLIED MORE PRESSURE TO THE ACCELERATOR AND THEN IT ACCELERATED QUICKLY AND THE ENGINE REVVED EXTREMELY HIGH. THE CONSUMER HIT A PARKED VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER DIDN'T BELIEVE THE RECALL WAS PROPERLY FIXED. *JB

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT STATES THAT THE DOOR HANDLE BROKE. THE MUFFLER FELL OFF OF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH. TWO MONTHS LATER, THE GEAR SHIFT WAS BROKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE GEAR SHIFT WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO FIFTH GEAR. THE WEATHER WAS NOT A FACTOR. ON FEBRUARY 17, 2010, THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN PULLING TO THE LEFT WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT FOR THE DRIVER TO MANEUVER THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT. THE DEALER OFFERED THE CONTACT $13,500 FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED BY THE DEALER FOR ONE MONTH AND ONE WEEK. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 7000.

(THE WHEEL WILL NOT TURN UNLESS I GIVE IT GAS AND GO STRAIGHT FOR A LITTLE WHILE, THEN SOMETIMES IT WILL THEN TURN.) I PURCHASED A NEW 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT FROM CLASSIC CHEVROLET IN SUGARLAND, TX ON JUNE 8, 2009. ON JUNE 10, 2009 THE CLUTCH PEDAL FELL OFF AS A RESULT OF A RETAINER NOT BEING SECURED AT THE LORDSTOWN FACTORY. AT 8848 MILES, ON SEPTEMBER 23, 2009 I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR ITS FIRST SERVICE WORK TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP. I INFORMED THEM THAT THE CLUTCH PEDAL HAD BECOME INOPERATIVE AND THAT I HAD SECURED THE LOCKING NUT BUT ASKED THEM TO CHECK IT FURTHER. THE DEALERSHIP FOUND OTHER RETAINERS MISSING FROM THE CLUTCHES MASTER CYLINDER.
