THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THE FUEL LINES WERE RUSTED AND LEAKING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I GOT MY COBALT IN ENDING 2010-2011 AND NEVER RECEIVED A SINGLE RECALL ON MY COBALT ,AND NOW A FRIEND TOLD ME OF THIS SIGHT THERE IS SO MANY RECALLS THAT NEED TO BE DONE ON MY CAR AND BEGINNING WITH THE TRANSMISSION ,IT RUNS GRATE IT JUST DOESN'T KNOW WHAT GEAR IT IS IN. ALSO MY DOOR LOCKS UNLOCK BY THEM SELF ITS LIKE I HAVE A SPIRIT IN THE CAR (VERY UN SAFE).NOT TO MENTION WHEN THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE IT WOULD SLIP INTO NEUTRAL ON ITS OWN, SAME WITH IF YOUR IN REVERSE IT WILL SLIP INTO NEUTRAL. PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSIONWILL NOT SHIFT INTO ANY GEARS, AFTER HAVING A HOLE IN TRANSMISSION PAN,SO REPLACE THE PAN AND FILTER AND GASKET AND PUT NEW TRANSMISSION FLUID IN,NOW CAR WILL NOT SHIFT INTO ANY GEARS. ITS LIKE IT LOCKED ME OUT OF THE TRANSMISSION ALL TOGETHER. THIS MAKES THE 2ND TRANSMISSION THAT WAS PUT INTO MY CAR I HAD IT DONE A COUPLE YEARS AGO AND IT'S BACK TO THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN, IT'S COST ME 2,000 LAST TIME FOR A REBUILT TRANSMISSION THAT SHOULD LAST AT LEAST 4-5 YEARS ONLY LASTED FOR 2 YEARS,THE AUTO PLACE SAID IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE PUMP SOLENOID AND THE SHIFT SOLENOID,THAT THEY ARE RIGED TO BURN OUT THESE COMPONENTS. AND IT'S PARKED IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. IT HAPPEN ON HIGHWAY AND ON CITY STREETS. VERY SCARY, I AM DISABLED AND DEPEN ON MY CAR TO GO TO LUNG DOCTOR. ONCE CAR WARMS UP, WHILE DRIVING, THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT PAST SECOND (2ND) GEAR, AND WILL ALLOW RED LINING WITHOUT SHIFTING UP A GEAR. WHEN TRYING TO PARK, THE SHIFTER WILL NOT ALLOW SHIFTING INTO PARK, AND THE VEHICLE WILL PULL AWAY UNDER THE POWER OF ITS OWN IDLE IF THE PARKING BRAKE IS NOT APPLIED, MAKING LEAVING THE VEHICLE UNATTENDED VERY DANGEROUS. WHEN TRYING TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK SHIFTER WILL BECOME STUCK IN THE PARKING GEAR. THE LIGHT ILLUMINATING AND INDICATING THE GEAR IN WHICH THE SHIFTER IS IN POSITION OF GOES OUT, MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO KNOW IF THE VEHICLE IS ACTUALLY IN PARK OR REVERSE ESPECIALLY COUPLED WITH THE SHIFTER NOT GOING FULLY INTO THE PARKING GEAR. WHEN THE SHIFTER DOESN'T QUITE MOVE INTO THE PARKING GEAR IT CAUSES THE DOORS TO STAY LOCKED AND SOMETIMES MAKES THE MANUAL LOCKS DIFFICULT TO USE IN ORDER TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, IT MAKES THE ELECTRONIC LOCKS COMPLETELY UNUSABLE. ALSO, WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD CHEVY NOT PUT A ENGINE TEMPERATURE GAUGE IN THE DASH CLUSTER? HOW ARE DRIVERS SUPPOSED TO KNOW IF THE ENGINE IS OVERHEATING, WAIT UNTIL THE ENGINE BLOWS UP WITH THE DRIVER TRAPPED INSIDE???

WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 75 MPH WHEN ALL POWER TO VEHICLE WAS LOST AND WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO SIDE OF ROAD. VEHICLE WOULD NOT START ENGINE WOULD CRANK BUT NOT START. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO MECHANIC, MECHANIC CHECKED FOR PROBLEMS COULD NOT LOCATE PROBLEM AFTER 6 HOURS WORKING ON IT VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE TOWED TO DEALER. DEALER SAID TIMING CHAIN FAILED AND CAUSED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO VEHICLE AND ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AND CAUSED HAVE CAUSED AN CRASH WITH THE SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER

THEY DIAGNOSED AND SAID THERE WAS NO GEARS. THEY SAID IT NEED A TRANSMISSION. ALSO THEY SAID IT NEED A NEW RADIATOR, BECAUSE OF THE BACK FLOW FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THE RADIATOR WOULD COST ABOUT 700. DOLLARS. HAS THERE BEEN ANY PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION WITH OTHER VEHICLES? DOES THE DEALERS DIAGNOSE OR DO THEY REPAIR THE ITEM. I THINK THE PROBLEM WAS THE SHIFTING PIN WENT OUT WITH THE SHIFTING, BUT THEY PUT IN AND CHARGED FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION.

I HAVE OWNED A 2010 CHEVY COBALT SINCE 2012. SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON. THE POWER LOCKS ERRATICALLY LOCK AND UNLOCK. THE WINDOWS WILL BECOME JAMMED AND SUDDENLY WILL NOT ROLL BACK UP. CRUISE CONTROL WILL RANDOMLY STOP WORKING. I HAD ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION WHICH COST ME OVER $3,000 TO FIX. THEN, THERE WAS THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALL WHICH THE DEALER FIXED AT NO COST. BUT NOW I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE POWER STEERING. I HAVE TO TURN MY IGNITION OFF AND ON FOR THE POWER STEERING WARNING MESSAGE TO TURN OFF BUT THEN IT TURNS BACK ON A FEW MINUTES LATER. I AM AWARE THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE POWER STEERING BUT YET THE DEALER REFUSES TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE WITH MY CAR BECAUSE THEY SAY THAT RECALL WAS PERFORMED BY A PREVIOUS OWNER. THE NHTSA WEBSITE STATES BULLETIN 14115 REGARDING POWER STEERING RECALL BEGAN JULY 17, 2014. MIND YOU I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR SINCE 2012 AND HAVE NOT HAD THE POWER STEERING RECALL ISSUES FIXED. N140115 ALSO STATES THAT IT INCLUDES "2010 CHEVY COBALT AND VEHICLES REPAIRED IN RECALL 10V-073 THAT RECEIVED REPAIRS PRIOR TO MAY 31, 2010." THEREFORE, THEY SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AND FIX THIS PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE OR PROVIDE ME WITH A CAR THAT IS SAFE. THE FIRST TIME MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT I WAS ON A FREEWAY ON RAMP WHEN MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. I COULD HAVE DIED! I STARTED BACK UP, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON AND CAR STAYS IN LIMP MODE. THE VEHICLE NOW IDLES ROUGH, ACCELERATES SLOW WHEN AT RED LIGHTS AND STOP SIGNS AND BUCKS WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. FIRST AT 10 MPH (HARD BUCK) THAN (LIGHTER BUCK) AT 20 MPH, AND CONTINUES LIGHTER THROUGH ACCELERATION. CODES THAT ARE COMING UP ARE P0107 ENGINE (MAP) BAROMETRIC PRESSURE CIRCUIT - LOW INPUT, P0452 ENGINE (EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM PRESSURE SYSTEM PRESSURE SENSOR - SWITCH LOW INPUT, P0532 ENGINE AC PRESSURE SENSOR A - CIRCUIT LOW, AND P0641 ENGINE (SENSOR REFERENCE VOLTAGE A) CIRCUIT/OPEN. I WAS ABLE TO CLEAR OUT ALL CODES EXCEPT FOR P0641 (PERMANENT). PLEASE HELP.

I HAVE A CHEVY COBALT LT 2010. I GOT IT USED WITH 40000 MILES ON LAST YEAR. I WAS IN MY CAR DRIVING BACK HOME FROM SCHOOL. ALL THE SUDDEN I SMELLED GAS OR BURNED OIL. IT IS HAPPENING EVERY ONCE A WHILE BUT I NEVER PAID ATTENTION TO IT. I PULLED OVER. I TURNED MY CAR OFF AND I TURNED IT BACK ON IN SOME COUPLE MINUTES. ALSO IT TAKES ME A WHILE TO SWITCH THE GEAR WHEN I AM IN THE HIGHWAY. THE BRAKES ALSO ARE NOT WORKING AS I AM PUSHING THEM HARD. THEY HAVE A DELAY TO STOP MY CAR. I DID NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE CHEVY COBALT RECALL. WHEN I GOT THE NOTIFICATION LETTER FROM GM I REALIZED THAT I SHOULD REPORT THESE ISSUES THAT HAVE BEEN CONSTANTLY HAPPENING TO MY CAR. ARRIVED AT MY DESTINATION AND THE KEY WAS STUCK IN THE ON POSITION. I HAVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND HAD TO DROP THE CLUTCH AND STALL IT TO KILL THE ENGINE. CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY BY 1 MONTH FOR BUMPER TO BUMPER. TALKED WITH MY LOCAL DEALER AND AFTER DISCUSSING IT WITH GM SAID THEY WOULD COVER THE $300-$400 REPAIR WITH $100 DEDUCTIBLE. I ORDERED AN AFTERMARKET IGNITION CYLINDER FOR $42 AND REPLACED IT MYSELF. I FOUND THE SPRING FOR ONE OF THE TUMBLERS POPPED OUT OF PLACE WHEN I REMOVED THE ORIGINAL. POOR DESIGN. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE HAD TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTART THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE THEN FUNCTIONED PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.

I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN FEBRUARY 2010 AND I DIDN'T START NOTICING PROBLEMS TILL AROUND SUMMER BUT THEY WERE NOT THAT BAD TILL SEPTEMBER WERE THE CAR STARTED SHOWING STRANGE ELECTRICAL AND STEERING ISSUE. I RECEIVED THE RECALL LETTER IN OCTOBER AND HAD THE POWER STEERING ISSUE FIXED BUT ITS STILL HAVE ISSUES WERE THE VEHICLE WILL SWERVE BACK AND FORTH IN RETURN I WILL HAVE TO KEEP MY HANDS ON THE STEERING WHEEL TO TRY TO KEEP IT FROM HITTING OTHER VEHICLES ON THE HIGHWAY. THEN THE BLOWER MOTOR THAT BLOWS THE HOT AND COLD AIR SOMETIMES ISTATICALLY REVS UP HIGH AND I HAVE TO TURN OF THE HEATER. ALSO I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE BRAKES SQUEAL AND I ONLY HAVE 10,300 MILES. I HAVE ALSO NOTICED THAT THE NEEDLES ON THE GAUGES IN THE DASH TEND TO TWITCH RADICALLY WHEN I TURN THE VEHICLE OFF SOMETIMES. THEN AT TIMES THE CAR WHEN TURNED ON WILL START TO ACT AS IF IT WAS TO SHUT OFF AND THE LIGHTS WOULD ALL DIM AND THEN IT WOULD STABILIZE. IT HAS DONE THAT ON THE HIGHWAY MAKING STEERING DIFFICULT AT TIMES. THE ENGINE AS WELL HAD MADE KNOCKING NOISES TO ITS BEEN AN OFF AND ON THING. *TR
