When I start my vehicle and go over a certain speed it show service abs system it also makes a grinding sound when breaking before that speed is hit it also has a wobbleing steering wheel when breaking at high speeds also when accelerating it will sometimes show engine power reduced after presing the gas pedal

The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not yet been contacted regarding the failure. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V502000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, POWER TRAIN). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 129,000.

The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that the brake lights, power locks, and windshield wipers were inoperable. The contact stated that the ignition key failed to disengage after turning off the vehicle. The contact had to hold a button underneath the steering panel to be able to remove the key. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the Body Control Module (BCM) needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

While driving home on the interstate after work, I was travelling at around 65 miles per hour, with the cruise control set at that speed. In an instant I lost all engine power and began to slow down very rapidly. A quick look to the rearview mirror to ensure nothing was approaching the rear of my vehicle, I found that I could see nothing except grey and white smoke behind me from all three mirrors. I was forced to remove myself from the highway for fear of causing an accident by blinding drivers with the smoke coming from my exhaust, and I was able to use the service road to get to the next fueling station. Upon arrival, I opened the hood and found that oil had sprayed out of every available portal in the engine, it exited through the vacuum lines, pressure sensors onto my alternator, saturated my serpentine belt as well as everything else ion the engine compartment. I noticed most of the oil came from a round hole behind the oil filler cap through a busted vacuum diaphragm that had blown out instead of regulating vacuum, indicating extreme positive pressure in the crankcase. As this was my MOS in the Army, I am experienced with dangers and risks involved in these situations, and I will give warning that if this happens during the right traffic situations, lives will be lost as a result of the smoke screen developimg when the oil hits the catalytic convertors combined with the rapid decline in speed without warning of any kind, and when it does happen, and it will, since there are 8 million of these vehicles on the road and counting, this complaint should serve as proper and fair warning od the damgers and risks with allowing this engine to remain in use without a warning system to indicate the tiny plastic check valve has been released from its position. I was fortunate enough that I only suffered a few curse words and horns blowing and flipping me the bird, but i have to admit I was afraid for my life and someone with less driving experience will have a bad outcom
2011 Chevrolet Cruze. 1.4 engine. Manual transmission. No accidents. Mileage: 69,000 The engine has stopped while driving 3 times in last year (2023) January (5 degrees), Sept and November. Battery is 2 years old. Replaced negative battery cable with (OEM), after 2nd engine stop, after reading that negative cables have history of going bad over time. Very dangerous, especially in dark. All lights, head lights, dash lights and engine stop. Emergency flashers work. I coast to the side of road, and try to restart. It will restart after about 5 minutes. I have gotten a check air bag message on dash. First, two times I took to a mechanic and they said there are no repair codes coming up from computer.
I purchased a Car on 8-11& I didn’t pick it up until 8/13 of this year . On 8/14 The electrical went out of my middle Consol starting with the radio and then down to the heating and air-conditioning buttons along with the fact that the windows would not roll down or up . When you use the Bluetooth in the car the AC shuts down and I hear a roaring sound coming from the engine as well as whenever I stop the car just jumps. There is also a sound in the steering wheel whatever it’s turned right to left
The radio turns itself off, all the warning lights flash on the dash, and the car starts struggling to idle.
Last month the car started ti show me this errors Stabili Trak Control and Traction Service Control, I keep getting them driving on the highway, every road I drive, the steering wheal just becomes stiff and its hard to maneuver , the Air Condition turns off itself and the car has a big vibration , like there is an earthquake outside, I have been calling General Motors to tell them about the problem but they are telling me there is nothing they can do. There are times when I get in the car trying to get to work and the car won't start, the car would show me the errors and would not clear for hours, it's a nightmare.
Every year there’s always a issue with oil leakage resulting into smoke coming out of my car, another thing is my car starts to hesitate literally once a year. This has been happening since I purchased my car in February of 2015

STARTING TO NOT BE ABLE TO TRUST THIS CAR AS ITS A HAZARD TO DRIVE NOT KNOWING WHEN IT WILL CUT OUT AND JUST STOP WITH NO POWER TO EVEN HAVE WINDOWS ROLL UP.

2016 ECM REPROGRAMMING RECALL EVER SINCE I BROUGHT MY CAR IN FOR THE RECALL IN 2016 TO HAVE THE ECM REPROGRAMMED, I HAVE HAD SEVERE ISSUES WITH VERY ROUGH IDLING, SLOW ACCELERATION, AND INCONSISTENT FUEL USAGE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND LISTS SEVERAL SENSORS THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED. WE REPLACED ALL OF THEM AND THE PROBLEM STILL COMES BACK. NOW THE CODES INDICATE THERE IS A CATASTROPHIC ISSUE WITH THE ECM AND CHEVY WILL NOT COVER IT EVEN THOUGH THIS ISSUE STARTED FROM THEIR OWN RECALL.

I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW IN 2011 AND I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR FOR OIL CHANGES SERVICES ETC EVERY 3 MONTHS THEIR IS NO NEGLECT ON THIS CAR IT WAS PROPERLY TAKEN CARE OF. ON THESE DATES, I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO BE SERVICED FOR EXPERIENCING HAZARDOUS ISSUES WITH ITS ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS AND REDUCED ENGINE ACCELERATION WHILE I WAS DRIVING BETWEEN 40-55 MILES PER HOUR. WITHOUT WARNING, MY VEHICLE'S SPEED WOULD DECELERATE (BOTH ON THE HIGHWAY AND RESIDENTIAL ROADS) AND MY CAR DOORS WOULD BEGIN TO LOCK AND UNLOCK UNCONTROLLABLY WITH ERROR MESSAGES 'SERVICE STABILITRAC,' 'SERVICE PARKING ASSIST,' AND 'SERVICE AIRBAG' DISPLAYING ON MY DASHBOARD. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 30 SECONDS, THE CAR BEGAN TO SHUT DOWN AND I MANAGED TO STEER IT OUT OF THE WAY OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED CHEVROLET'S ROADSIDE SERVICE AND INFORMED THE REPRESENTATIVES THAT MY ENGINE WOULD NOT START AND I WAS STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.

HELLO. MY COMPLAINT IS ABOUT THE KEYS ON MY 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE LS MANUAL MODEL. THE METAL KEY SEPARATES FROM THE KEY FOB. IT HAS DONE THIS ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS, ON TWO DIFFERENT FOBS. THE FIRST TWO TIMES MY CHEVROLET DEALER COVERED IT UNDER WARRANTY AND FIXED IT. THE WARRANTY IS OVER NOW. AT ANY RATE, THIS SHOULDN'T HAPPEN TO CAR KEYS! IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AND A NUISANCE AS WELL! WE WHERE NOTIFIED THAT THE CAR WAS READY FOR PICK UP THAT MORNING AS WE ARRIVED WE PAID OUR INVOICE, THE CONSULTANT MADE US AWARE THAT THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON (FIRST TIME SINCE NEW?) THIS CONSULTANT DID NOT DOCUMENT THIS ENGINE LIGHT TO OUR RECORDS. WELL, THE ENGINE LIGHT KEPT GOING OFF AND ON DURING THE NEXT 10K MILES (2 OIL CHANGE LATER, OUT OF WARRANTY, MY FAULT) I HAD THIS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DIAGNOSED BY OUR DEALER AND THEY HAD THE CODES AND THEN FURTHER TRIED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THEY WANTED $800.00 TO INSTALL A NEW AIR INTAKE MANIFOLD AND THROTTLE BODY THEN CONTINUE TO TEST FOR MORE PROBLEMS WITH NO GUARANTEE OF REPAIR. I COULD NOT AFFORD THE REPAIR AND DECLINED THE FIX. THE OTHER PROBLEM SURROUNDING THIS CAR SINCE APRIL 21, 2014 WAS THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD NOT SHOW FULL AFTER FILL UP AND WOULD MOVE UP AND DOWN THE SCALE ON THE GAUGE. THE AC WOULD COME ON AT STRANGE TIMES WHEN RUNNING THE HEATER? WELL ANY WAYS THAT WAS 7 HOURS AT THE DEALER AND MADE FOR A LONG DAY. I HAD TO RETURN TO PICK UP THE COVER THEY FORGOT TO INSTALL OVER THE SPARK PLUGS, AND COMPLAINED ABOUT THE LEATHER SETS BEING SOAKING WET WITH WATER AND THAT THE CAR HAS HAD THESE PROBLEMS SINCE APRIL 2014 UNDER WARRANTY, THE DEALER DID NOT WANT TO HELP US? I PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM THEM AND PURCHASED THE 35K OIL CHANGE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY? THIS DEALER DID ALL ! THE MAINTENANCE, RECALLS AND REPAIRS. TOOK MY 2011 CHEVY CRUZE INTO THE SHOP ON FEBRUARY AFTER THE RADIO, DASH, HEADLIGHTS BEGAN SHORTING OUT (FLICKERING ON AND OFF) THE DASH WOULD FLASH BACK ON IT A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE AND THEN RESET ITSELF ONCE THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF. INITIAL QUOTE FROM MECHANIC WAS THAT IT NEEDED A NEW ALTERNATOR. I THEN DID A INTERNET SEARCH TO FIND OUT MANY CONSUMERS ON FORUMS WERE REPORTING THE SAME PROBLEM. AT THAT TIME WE REFUSED WORK FROM THE MECHANIC AND TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY STATED IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM AND THE GROUNDING WIRES WERE TIGHTENED. THE WORK WAS DONE AND ABOUT A MONTH LATER THE ISSUES STARTED HAPPENING AGAIN, THIS TIME WHEN THE "FLICKERING" WOULD HAPPEN, THEY DASH WOULD FLASH "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL". THE CAR WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY STATED THE CAR NEEDED NEW BATTERY CABLES. AFTER REVIEWING THE CONCERNS ON THE FORUMS FOR OTHER CRUZE CUSTOMERS WHO STATED THIS WAS REPLACED ON THEIR CARS AND THE PROBLEM KEPT HAPPENING, I WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH THAT OPTION, THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO INVESTIGATE FURTHER SO WE TOOK MY CAR HOME. ONE MONTH LATER THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SMOKE, THE VALVE COVER HAD MELTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED GM CHARGED ME FOR THIS UNDER WARRANTY PART. THEN, I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN ONTO A RESIDENTIAL STREET MY VEHICLE BEGAN TO SMOKE INSIDE THE VEHICLE. I SHUT DOWN THE CAR AND LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD OIL WAS IN THE ANTI FREEZE FILL TANK, I CALLED GM THEY SENT A TRUCK AND TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP. THE RESULT; GM TOLD DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE ENGINE, CALLED BACK AND SAID DON'T REPLACE TRY TO FIX IT. THEY REPLACED THE TURBO CHARGER, TURBO COOLER, AND OIL COOLER, ONLY TO HAVE ME BACK 5-6 TIMES WITH COOLING PROBLEMS, THE VEHICLE STILL HAS COOLING ISSUES, AND GOES BACK FOR SERVICE EVERY TWO WEEKS OR SO. THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT BACK TO SERVICE AS THERE WERE STILL SHIFTING PROBLEMS. THEY FOUND THE TORQUE CONVERTER DISASSEMBLED AND TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED AGAIN, AND THEN AGAIN A FEW MONTHS LATER. THE VEHICLE HAS A STEERING ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE THEIR ATTENTION. THE STEERING LOCKS UP PERIODICALLY WHEN TRAVELING OVER 30MPH, AND HAS MADE ME AFRAID I WILL BE DRIVING AND LOCK UP PERMANENTLY. THE BRAKES ARE AN ISSUE ON THE VEHICLE NOW AND PRIOR TO RECALL FOR BRAKE ASSIST, IT IS STILL HARD TO STOP THE VEHICLE. AND BRAKES HAVE TO BE REPLACED EVERY 3 MONTHS. THERE IS DEFINITELY AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE AS THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS WORKED PERIODICALLY THEN COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING, AS WELL AS THE RUNNING LIGHTS BURNING OUT WITHIN A MONTH OF REPLACEMENT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP FEELS ITS NOT A PROBLEM. THIS VEHICLE MAY SHUT OFF FROM ELECTRICAL ISSUES EVENTUALLY. WHEN USING THE AIR CONDITIONER THE DASHBOARD FILLS WITH OVER A HALF INCH OF CONDENSATION AND LEAKS OUT OF THE VENTS PROFUSELY. VALVE COVER HAD TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. *TR

I WAS ALSO NOTIFIED THAT THE ISSUE WOULD PERSIST, IT IS THE WAY MY MODEL TRANSMISSION WORKS. I KNOW THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN, MY CAR HAS ALREADY LEFT ME STRANDED ONCE. I BELIEVE THAT GM IS GOING UNDER THE RADAR AND JUST TRYING TO APPEASE ME WITH A NEW TRANSMISSION. I ALSO BELIEVE THAT MORE CAN BE DONE FOR THE PROBLEMS THAT PERSIST IN MY CAR AND GM IS REFUSING FOR IT TO BE DONE. MY CAR IS A SAFETY HAZARD FROM THE NUMEROUS RECALLS TO THE TRANSMISSION AND COMPUTER DEFECTS. NOW, THE CAR HAS HAD 2 SEPARATE MAJOR PROBLEMS (ENGINE & CURRENTLY BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR PROBLEM RELATED TO TRANSMISSION), THIS VEHICLE HAS BROKEN DOWN ONCE WHILE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, BUT LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND THE SECOND TIME IT BROKE DOWN WAS ON A STREET LESS HEAVILY TRAVELED, HOWEVER, I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. IF THIS WOULD'VE OCCURRED WHILE ON A HEAVILY TRAVELED OR FASTER SPEED ZONE, I FEEL THAT A TERRIBLE CRASH WOULD HAVE HAPPENED. BOTH TIMES MAY HAVE RESULTED IN SERIOUS INJURY OR EVEN DEATH. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE SPEEDOMETER AND NEEDED TO ORDER A NEW ONE. I DECIDED TO WAIT UNTIL I MOVED (I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A CROSS COUNTRY MOVE) AND WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR THE 7500 MILE MAINTENANCE, I ASKED THE DEALER SERVICE CENTER IN MY NEW CITY TO CHECK OUT THE SPEEDOMETER. THEY DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING AND CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT UNTIL ONE OF THEIR TECHNICIANS WITNESSES IT. *TR

FIRST, I AM IN THE DRIVER SEAT AND I SHOULD HAVE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I DO NOT. SECONDLY, MOST PEOPLE DRIVE WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. IF I SLOW RADICALLY FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON AND ALL OF THE DRIVERS AROUND ME CONTINUE ON, SOMEONE BEHIND ME WILL RUN INTO ME. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE A DISTRACTED DRIVER SMASHES INTO ME. AND THIRDLY, SINCE I NEVER TOUCHED THE BRAKE, THE BRAKE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON. THE DRIVER BEHIND ME HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING THAT I AM RADICALLY SLOWING AND CREATING SUCH A DANGEROUS SITUATION. IF YOU STEP ON THE GAS TO GET THE CAR TO GO, NOTHING HAPPENS. THEN THE COMPUTER RETURNS CONTROL TO THE DRIVER AND THE CAR TAKES OFF AT FULL SPEED. IF YOU STEP ON THE BRAKE, THE COMPUTER TAKES OVER. YOU THEN MUST COME TO A FULL COMPLETE STOP BEFORE THE COMPUTER WILL RETURN CONTROL TO THE DRIVER. IF YOU ARE MAKING A TURN WHEN THE CAR RADICALLY SLOWS, YOU COULD VERY EASILY LOOSE CONTROL.
