The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that while driving 25-35 MPH, the vehicle failed to shift into the intended gear and then stalled. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the residence. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 230,000.

The contact stated that after restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not yet been contacted regarding the failure. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V502000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, POWER TRAIN). Vehicle does not shift gears, jumpy, sluggish, disengages then jerks back into gear. Hazard when trying to pickup speed to accelerate into highway traffic. Does not engage in reverse gear at times, have to turn vehicle off, wait a few minutes then turn vehicle back on for reverse gear to engage. Sometimes when vehicle is in park, vehicle will not start, have to fidget with gear and key, sometimes for several minutes before it will register in park and allow you to start the vehicle. When on highway transmission will jolt and jerk making you think you have lost your transmission on the roadway. This is a major hazard for my daughter who drives this vehicle to college. I am aware of a lift plate that can be installed to fix this problem that has existed in all 2011 Chevy Cruze s since they were manufactured. NHTSA Bulletin issued Oct. 10, 2024 NHTSA ID#11010651 Manufacture Communication #24-NA-223 Bulletin to all technicians for an alternative procedure for a lift plate that can be installed into the transmission to correct this problem. This needs to be a nationwide issued RECALL because of the endangerment people are being put in while driving these unsafe Chevy Cruze with faulty transmission issues.

While driving home on the interstate after work, I was travelling at around 65 miles per hour, with the cruise control set at that speed. In an instant I lost all engine power and began to slow down very rapidly. A quick look to the rearview mirror to ensure nothing was approaching the rear of my vehicle, I found that I could see nothing except grey and white smoke behind me from all three mirrors. I was forced to remove myself from the highway for fear of causing an accident by blinding drivers with the smoke coming from my exhaust, and I was able to use the service road to get to the next fueling station. Upon arrival, I opened the hood and found that oil had sprayed out of every available portal in the engine, it exited through the vacuum lines, pressure sensors onto my alternator, saturated my serpentine belt as well as everything else ion the engine compartment. I noticed most of the oil came from a round hole behind the oil filler cap through a busted vacuum diaphragm that had blown out instead of regulating vacuum, indicating extreme positive pressure in the crankcase. As this was my MOS in the Army, I am experienced with dangers and risks involved in these situations, and I will give warning that if this happens during the right traffic situations, lives will be lost as a result of the smoke screen developimg when the oil hits the catalytic convertors combined with the rapid decline in speed without warning of any kind, and when it does happen, and it will, since there are 8 million of these vehicles on the road and counting, this complaint should serve as proper and fair warning od the damgers and risks with allowing this engine to remain in use without a warning system to indicate the tiny plastic check valve has been released from its position. I was fortunate enough that I only suffered a few curse words and horns blowing and flipping me the bird, but i have to admit I was afraid for my life and someone with less driving experience will have a bad outcom

The transmission failed and wouldn't go into 3rd gear. Safety of person driving was put at risk on an expressway on ramp, transmission refused to go into 3rd gear could have been rear ended as traffic was accelerating on ramp. The issue was reproduced at a transmission repair shop. Vehicle has been repaired at a transmission shop after being towed to their facility as it was undriveable. There were NO warning lights or messages prior to failure. Car seemed a little sluggish before but not really a warning at all before catastrophic failure of transmission.

Noticed a very hard transmission shift when accelerating from approximately 35 to 40 mph. Hard shifting in this vehicle has been observed over the past year. Milage is approximately 60,000 miles.

Transmission locked gears and would not accelerate causing a huge safety violation when it occurred on an interstate. Vehicle was just seen by a mechanic that deemed the car safe to drive and then the car proceeded to malfunction. Vehicle has history of a slipping transmission, with no diagnosis ever found.

The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated while at a stop sign and accelerating, the vehicle hesitated. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the dealer stated that the oxygen sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 54,057. The contact noted that the failure mileage was actually 45,057 and the failure speed was intermittent. After the vehicle was left with the dealer a second time, they found that there were two cylinders with low compression. The dealer presented the contact two options to remedy the issue. The contact paid to have the engine replaced with a remanufactured one from GM. The new engine has since been reinstalled, but it is unknown why the failure happened. The contact has reached out to the manufacturer to try to get some financial help with the repair costs.

Due to OnStar 2G sunsetting their services at the end of this year, all makes of General Motors vehicles did not comply to any of the customers requests to upgrade their module to 4G services, although upon researching, all Canadian GM vehicles did get the upgrade well over 7 years ago. This is well beyond a concern with GM and OnStar customers. With the NHTSA as a safety liaison and protecting the consumer, if a module upgrade can be applied in a vehicle that is on the same assembly parts, platform, electrical components...and be denied from the United States? The NHTSA should realize that this will be frivolous law suits because of neglect and safety concerns with GM and OnStar in the United States.

Seven recalls!!! Chevy claims there are no recalls for this vin number. 7 is way to many!!! Not to mention their valve covers on this car are terrible, no wonder the engine catches fire, I’ve had it replaced 3 times. I’ve replaced cooling components multiple times an never got any recall notifications from Chevy!!!!!! Please help.

I drive daily taking 2 freeways. I stopped at the traffic light and the car felt like shaking. Stabilitrack warning and traction control warning light and messages appeared on the screen and also the check engine light turned on, and ABS too. Break pedal was really hard to push and breaks were not working (i was not reducing speed at all) and it felt like the engine loose power and the car felt rough while driving. I was approaching to another traffic light and it was a red light so I prepared to decrease my speed and stop to wait for the green light. When I placed my foot and pressed the break pedal, it was hard. I was pushing it hard but the pedal did not respond, it was very hard and not moving at all and I was almost on the intersection, which always has heavy traffic with cars, 18 wheeler trucks and delivery trucks and more because its an industrial zone and Amazon and UPS are on this avenue along with other major companies. I could be involved and be responsible for a really bad crash if the light wouln't turn green on time. Fortunately it changed to the green light and I was in the very front. After this, I tried to go to the side if the road but there was a sidewalk and it was a no parking zone with no space/edge to park In case of emergency. I drove slowly with my emergency lights on and moved to the right lane until I found a space to stop. The car was shaking really bad, same lights on the dash were on and messages on the control panel did not change or disapear. The car was still moving when the engine suddenly stopped working while I was driving it. Music was playing and all lights worked so I knew it wasn't the battery. This situation was so scary that I was afraid to drive my car. I did not want to cause an accident resulting in injury to myself, others or any fatality. I've always taken my car to service and to be fixed in chevrolet. My car shook a little since 2020 and chevy guys don't know the reason. Total is about $2800 to get it fixed.

ISSUE 1: CAR JERKS WHILE AT LOW SPEEDS AND SOMETIMES ACTS LIKE IT'S IN NEUTRAL, EVEN THOUGH MY GEAR IS IN DRIVE. ISSUE 2: WHEN I PUT MY CAR INTO REVERSE, THEN TO DRIVE, THE CAR ACTS LIKE IT'S IN NEUTRAL, INSTEAD OF DRIVE. THE ENGINE REVS, BUT DOESN'T MOVE, UNLESS I HAPPEN TO BE ON A HILL, AT WHICH POINT IT WILL ROLL, WITHOUT ME WANITING IT TO. IN ORDER TO GO INTO DRIVE I HAVE TO PUT ON THE BRAKE AND PUT IT INTO PARK, LET GO OF THE BRAKE, PUT THE BRAKE BACK ON THEN PUT THE GEAR BACK IN DRIVE FOR IT TO MOVE FORWARD. ISSUE 3: CAR RUNS IN GEAR 1 AND 2, BUT WILL NOT SHIFT TO ANOTHER GEAR. WHEN YOU'RE DRIVING, THE ENGINE JUST REVS, BUT YOU CAN'T GO PAST A VERY LOW SPEED. I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW IN 2011, IT HAS 80,000 MILES. I DON'T EXPECT IT TO BE A PERFECT CAR, BUT FOR THE TRANSMISSION TO ALREADY BE OUT, ISN'T RIGHT. IT'S DANGEROUS. PLEASE DO THE RIGHT THING AND INVESTIGATE THIS CAR'S TRANSMISSION. EVERYONE IS HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE WITH THIS PARTICULAR CAR. PLEASE. I'M BEGGING.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THEN CAME ON. FUSE CHANGED FOR INDICATOR LIGHT AND TRANSMISSION FLUID CHECKED(FLUIDS FINE). CAR BEGAN WORKING WITH NO EXPLANATION. SECOND INCIDENT WAS BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, AFTER USING THE CAR WITHOUT INCIDENT EARLIER. WENT INTO REVERSE FINE. BACKED OUT, ONLY TO DISCOVER I COULD NOT GO FORWARD INTO DRIVE. DRIVE ACTED AS IF IN PARK. REVERSE WORKED. NEUTRAL WORKED AS IF IN REVERSE. HAD TO BACK INTO A SAFE PARKING SPACE ON THE STREET INSTEAD OF PULLING BACK INTO DRIVEWAY. ALMOST RAN OVER MY SON THAT WAS GOING TO PUSH MY CAR WHILE IN NEUTRAL, DUE TO THE FACT THAT ONCE THE CAR WAS IN NEUTRAL, IT WAS STILL REVERSING.

OFTEN TIMES, WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE CAR DOESN'T ACTUALLY GET POWER; THE RPMS JUMP TO ABOUT 6000 AND THE CAR DOESN'T MOVE. WHILE DRIVING, IT FEELS LIKE TENSION AGAINST THE GAS PEDAL WHILE THE CAR FEELS LIKE IT'S DRAGGING BACK AND BOGGING DOWN (THE RPMS DON'T INDICATE BOGGING, BUT THAT'S WHAT IT FEELS LIKE). I HAVE THE DOCUMENTS TO PROVE MY STATEMENT. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT A HEADACHE. I JUST WANTED TO NOTIFY YOU AND WARN ANY OTHER PERSON THAT MAY BE THINKING OF BUYING A CRUZE TO NOT PURCHASE. I WAS HOPING ALSO THAT I MAY HAVE A RECOURSE UNDER THE LEMON LAW TO RECOVER SOME OR ALL OF THE LOSSES INVESTED IN TRYING TO KEEP THE VEHICLE IN RUNNING CONDITION. WHILE DRIVING MY 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE LT WHEN IT GETS T0 BETWEEN 30-40 MPH THE RPMS WILL GO EXTREMELY HIGH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND THE CAR WILL SLOW DOWN AS IT IS SLOWING DOWN IT WILL JERK INTO THE LOWER GEARS IF I DON'T PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL. SINCE I DON'T HAVE A READER FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND DISCONNECT MY BATTERY TO GET THAT TO SHUT OFF. I HAVE TO LET MY CAR ENGINE/TRANSMISSION COOL DOWN BEFORE DRIVING AGAIN OTHERWISE I WILL ONLY MAKE IT EIGHTH OF A MILE DOWN THE ROAD AND THE SAME THING HAPPENS. I WANT THIS PROBLEM FIXED. I OFFICIALLY HATE MY CAR BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. MAKES ME NEVER WANT TO BUY A CHEVROLET AGAIN. I HAVE SEEN MAY COMPLAINTS OF THIS HAPPENING TO THIS YEAR OF CAR. LIGHTS ON RADIO BLINK AND ENGINE/OIL/ COOLANT LEAKS. DESPITE ATTEMPTS TO FIX PROBLEMS, CAR CONTINUES TO STALL OUT, LEAVING DRIVER STRANDED IN ROADWAY. ENGINE REBOOTS ARE TEMPORARY FIX, BUT THE COMPUTER SEEMS TO BE TAKING OUT SYSTEMS 1 BY 1. GM SPECIALIST HAD CAR FOR 2 WEEKS IN JANUARY & COULD NOT SOLVE.

IN MAY OF THIS YEAR, AS I TRIED TO BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, MY CAR WOULD NOT MOVE IN REVERSE. THE CAR WAS RATTLING, THE RPMS WERE GOING UP, BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT GO IN GEAR. MY FAMILY PUSHED MY CAR OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY IN NEUTRAL AND I DROVE IT 2 MILES TO MY MECHANIC. DURING THAT 2 MINUTE DRIVE, THE CAR CONTINUALLY SLIPPED GEARS. FAST FORWARD TO HAVING THE CRUZE TOWED TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP (AFTER NOT HAVING HEARD FROM CHEVROLET AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS CONTACTING THEM) AND I FIND OUT THE TRANSMISSION IS COMPLETELY BROKE. THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY, AND OF COURSE CHEVROLET LENT NO ASSISTANCE, SO I PAID $3,674 TO HAVE A REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION PUT IN WITH A 500,000 MILE WARRANTY. 2016 ECM REPROGRAMMING RECALL EVER SINCE I BROUGHT MY CAR IN FOR THE RECALL IN 2016 TO HAVE THE ECM REPROGRAMMED, I HAVE HAD SEVERE ISSUES WITH VERY ROUGH IDLING, SLOW ACCELERATION, AND INCONSISTENT FUEL USAGE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND LISTS SEVERAL SENSORS THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED. WE REPLACED ALL OF THEM AND THE PROBLEM STILL COMES BACK. NOW THE CODES INDICATE THERE IS A CATASTROPHIC ISSUE WITH THE ECM AND CHEVY WILL NOT COVER IT EVEN THOUGH THIS ISSUE STARTED FROM THEIR OWN RECALL.

ON MY WAY TO THE BEACH I APPROACHED A STOP SIGN NEAR THE ENTRANCE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY. AFTER STOPPING I PROCEEDED TO PRESS THE GAS PEDAL AND ALL I GOT WAS ENGINE REVVING THE CAR DIDN'T MOVE AT ALL. I TRIED SHIFTING THE GEAR FROM PARK BACK TO DRIVE AND I TRIED AGAIN. THE CAR STILL DIDN'T MOVE AND I GOT REVVING AGAIN. SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION CAUSING THE CAR TO SLIP INTO NEUTRAL WHILE BEING IN DRIVE. I RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO PARK AND TURNED IT OFF, AFTER WAITING A FEW SECONDS I STARTED THE CAR UP AGAIN PUT IT IN DRIVE AND I ACCELERATED FORWARD, I PULLED INTO A NEARBY PARKING LOT AND EASED MY WAY INTO A SPACE, BEFORE MAKING IT ALL THE WAY INTO THE SPACE I LOST GEAR AGAIN. I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE AND BACKED OUT OF THE SPACE. PUT IN BACK IN DRIVE AND AGAIN DIDN'T GO FORWARD, JUST REVVING. I ULTIMATELY PARKED THE CAR AND HAD IT TOWED TO A MECHANIC. 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE ARE MOST COMMONLY KNOWN TO HAVE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS BUT THERE IS NO OPEN RECAL. MY CRUZE COULD HAVE SLIPPED INTO NEUTRAL WHILE I WAS ON THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. THERE WAS NO WARNING IT WAS GONNA FAIL. NO LIGHT INDICATIONS, NO STRANGE SOUNDS COMING FROM THE CAR. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A NEARBY CHEVROLET DEALER TO SEE IF THEY COULD TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED. THE TRANSMISSION GUY DROVE IT AROUND THE LOT AND THEN TOLD ME HIS BEST EDUCATED GUESS ON WHAT HAPPENED IS THAT THE 3,5,R PLATE BROKEDOWN AND CLOGGED THE FILTER. THEY TOLD ME I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I CONTACTED CHEVROLET AND GM TO SEE IF THEY WOULD HELP AT ALL AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT. I HAD THE CAR TOWED SOMEWHERE ELSE TO GET THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT FOR CHEAPER. I TIRED TO ENCOURAGE THE GM REPRESENTATIVE I SPOKE TO, TO LOOK INTO OPENING A RECAL ON THE TRANSMISSIONS OF 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE BEING THAT IS THE MOST COMMON COMPLAINT. HOWEVER THEY COULD NOT PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION ON IF THEY WOULD OPEN A RECAL.

ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I HAVE ALMOST HAD COLLISIONS BECAUSE MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE GOING UP A HILL THE RPM WOULD REV UP HIGH BUT IT SEEMED MY TRANSMISSION SLOWED DOWN/SLIPPING. I TOOK THE CAR TO A LOCAL GARAGE TO BE CHECKED WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG "WASTED $80 FOR NOTHING" WITH MY CAR BUT I AM STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. CAR DOES NOT PROPERLY ACCELERATE, SO MUCH SO THAT I NEED TO USE THE HAZARD LIGHTS TO AVOID BEING HIT BY THE CAR BEHIND ME WHEN ACCELERATING AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT. THIS IS NOT SAFE. I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN. I DROVE 40+ MILES (CITY MILES) AND HAD NO ISSUES GETTING THERE, BUT THEN WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE CAR ON AGAIN TO RETURN HOME, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE SHOWED THE ENGINE GO FROM COLD TO HOT VERY QUICKLY, DISPLAYED THE MESSAGE "ENGINE HOT A/C OFF" AND IT STARTED MAKING A LOUD SQUEALING NOISE. AT THIS POINT I SWERVED THE CAR OFF THE ROAD BECAUSE MY DAUGHTER AND I FEARED FOR OUR SAFETY AND THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO EXPLODE. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK, WE BOTH OPENED OUR DOORS AND TOOK OFF RUNNING FROM THE CAR UNTIL WE REACHED A SAFE DISTANCE. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED 40+ MILES TO MY HOME. THE MECHANIC CHECKED THE VEHICLE AGAIN AND FOUND THAT THE RADIATOR HAD CRACKED AND THAT THE WATER PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HE REPLACED THE RADIATOR AND ALSO THE WATER PUMP, AND ENSURED THE PROPER AMOUNTS OF ALL FLUIDS. ALSO, WHENEVER I ATTEMPT TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY, THE FRONT END OF THE CAR GETS VERY HOT AND THE "TRANSMISSION HOT IDLE ENGINE" MESSAGE COMES ON AND THE AC, WHICH WAS WORKING FINE, DOES NOT WORK NOW. STILL, THE MECHANIC COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION! THE HEAT FROM THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION COME STRAIGHT THROUGH THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH WITH NO AC GETS SUPER HOT IN ADDITION TO THE 80+ DEGREE WEATHER IN CENTRAL FLORIDA (AND IT'S NOT EVEN SUMMER YET!). EVERY TIME I HAVE TO HAVE TRIED TO REFUEL THE CAR WITHIN THE PAST 2 WEEKS OF ME HAVING PURCHASED IT, THE ENGINE STALLS AND STALLS AND STALLS. IT TAKES 10-15 TRIES TO TURN THE CAR BACK ON EVERY TIME I REFUEL. IN ADDITION TO THIS, ONCE YOU ACTUALLY GET THE CAR BACK ON THE CAR JERKS WHEN PUT IN DRIVE. I HAVE TO KEEP MY FOOT ON THE GAS OR THE CAR WILL SHUT BACK OFF.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, BUT I WAS UNABLE TO GET THE CODE CHECKED BECAUSE IT WAS TOO LATE IN THE EVENING. LIMPED THE CAR 20 MINUTES HOME. ONCE IN 3RD GEAR AND ABOVE, IT RAN FINE. BUT WHEN GOING FROM A DEAD STOP, IT WOULD TAKE FOREVER TO GET OUT OF 1ST AND 2ND GEAR. ADDITIONALLY, THE DASH DISPLAY NO LONGER WOULD SHOW THE DRIVE SHIFT CONTROL DISPLAY. ONLY SHOWED "D" AND NOT M1, ETC. GOT VEHICLE HOME AND IT NOW SHIFTS VERY HARD WHEN PUT IN REVERSE.

I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE, WITH TODAY ENDING IN LOSS OF POWER WHILE DOING 70MPH ON INTERSTATE 95N. PRIOR TO THIS ISSUE, MY DASHBOARD AND RADIO WOULD FLICKER ON AND OFF, THEN THE MESSAGE "SERVICE STABILITRAK" WOULD POP UP AND GO AWAY. THIS MORNING WHILE DRIVING ON 95N MY VEHICLE LOST ALL ITS POWER CAUSING ME TO PULL OFF ONTO THE SHOULDER. MY CAR CUT OFF AND WOULD NOT CUT BACK ON FOR ABOUT TWO MINUTES. WHEN I CUT IT BACK ON, MY CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE AND CODE P0723 (SPEED SENSOR) POPPED UP. THIS NEARLY SCARED ME AS I COULD HAVE ENDED UP IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT. NOW, MY CAR IS AT THE SHOP AND THE TRANSMISSION HAS DIED. I SEE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THE SAME ISSUE BUT NO RECALL RELEASED. I WILL BE WITHOUT A VEHICLE AND UPSIDE DOWN ON MY CAR NOW. THE SHIFTER IN THE TRANSMISSION BROKE. HAD A LICENSED MECHANIC AT CHRISTIAN BROTHERS TO RUN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON IT FOR WARRANTY REASONS. HE FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A FREQUENT PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS AND INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS A MANUFACTURE ALERT ON THIS PART. TO REPLACE THIS ONE PART THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION MUST BE REPLACED. THERE IS LESS THAN 100,000 MILES ON THE CAR. GIVING AN ALERT DOES NOT RECTIFY THE PROBLEM NOR DOES IT LIMIT THE DANGERS. A PERSON IS UNABLE TO SHIFT THE GEARS WHILE DRIVING. I FEEL THIS TO BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. CHEVROLET SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING THIS PART.

ALSO WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR I TOOK IT BACK THREE TIMES AND THEY SAID SINCE I PAID CASH FOR IT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO I FEEL LIKE THIS WAS A LEMON.

SINCE BATTERY WAS ORIGINAL - I FELT IT WAS WORTH REPLACING. YESTERDAY, WHILE DRIVING TO WORK, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE HEATER STOPPED WORKING. TODAY - THE DEALER CALLS ME AND STATES THAT THEY NEED TO REPLACE A HOSE AND OUTLET. THERE WAS NO LEAK YESTERDAY - AND THEY STATE THAT THERE IS A LEAK AND THIS IS THE REASON. THEY WANT $250 FOR REPAIRS. THE HOSE WAS FINE YESTERDAY - AND THE OUTLET SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH THE WATER PUMP (ACTUALLY THEY SHOULD HAVE REPLACED THE HOSE AT THAT TIME ALSO). 1ST THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE. THE TORQUE CONVERTER HAD DISASSEMBLED AND TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. ONE MONTH LATER THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SMOKE, THE VALVE COVER HAD MELTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED GM CHARGED ME FOR THIS UNDER WARRANTY PART. THEN, I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN ONTO A RESIDENTIAL STREET MY VEHICLE BEGAN TO SMOKE INSIDE THE VEHICLE. I SHUT DOWN THE CAR AND LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD OIL WAS IN THE ANTI FREEZE FILL TANK, I CALLED GM THEY SENT A TRUCK AND TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP. THE RESULT; GM TOLD DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE ENGINE, CALLED BACK AND SAID DON'T REPLACE TRY TO FIX IT. THEY REPLACED THE TURBO CHARGER, TURBO COOLER, AND OIL COOLER, ONLY TO HAVE ME BACK 5-6 TIMES WITH COOLING PROBLEMS, THE VEHICLE STILL HAS COOLING ISSUES, AND GOES BACK FOR SERVICE EVERY TWO WEEKS OR SO. THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT BACK TO SERVICE AS THERE WERE STILL SHIFTING PROBLEMS. THEY FOUND THE TORQUE CONVERTER DISASSEMBLED AND TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED AGAIN, AND THEN AGAIN A FEW MONTHS LATER. THE VEHICLE HAS A STEERING ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE THEIR ATTENTION. THE STEERING LOCKS UP PERIODICALLY WHEN TRAVELING OVER 30MPH, AND HAS MADE ME AFRAID I WILL BE DRIVING AND LOCK UP PERMANENTLY. THE BRAKES ARE AN ISSUE ON THE VEHICLE NOW AND PRIOR TO RECALL FOR BRAKE ASSIST, IT IS STILL HARD TO STOP THE VEHICLE. AND BRAKES HAVE TO BE REPLACED EVERY 3 MONTHS. THERE IS DEFINITELY AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE AS THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS WORKED PERIODICALLY THEN COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING, AS WELL AS THE RUNNING LIGHTS BURNING OUT WITHIN A MONTH OF REPLACEMENT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP FEELS ITS NOT A PROBLEM. THIS VEHICLE MAY SHUT OFF FROM ELECTRICAL ISSUES EVENTUALLY. PROBLEM CONTINUED TO HAPPEN AND ON MY WAY IN TO WORK ON 02/11/14 THE PROBLEM HAPPENED TWO TIMES IN THE MORNING AND WAS FORCED TO PUT CAR IN PARK TURN OFF ENGINE AND RESTART. THEN HAPPENS 3 TIMES ONCE ON A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY INTO DOWNTOWN DENVER AND TWICE IN DOWNTOWN. CALLED DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO BRING IT IN. WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE "THROTTLE BODY" WHICH IS A $450.00 FIX NOT COVERED UNDER POWER TRAIN WARRANTY . WAS PARKED IN FRONT OF AN ESTABLISHMENT AND WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE IGNITION KEY OR MOVE THE GEAR SHIFT UP AND DOWN. I WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE OVERDRIVE BOX IN FRONT OF THE GEAR SHIFT SO I COULD SHIFT THE CAR INTO GEAR AND DRIVE HOME, HOWEVER, BECAUSE THE CAR WAS NOT RECOGNIZING THE GEAR SHIFT WAS IN PARK I WAS STILL UNABLE TO REMOVE THE IGNITION KEY WHEN I GOT HOME SO THE CAR'S BATTERY DIED. I CONTACTED ONE OF CHEVY'S TOW SERVICES IN ORDER TO GET THE CAR TOWED BUT DUE TO THE CAR BEING IN THE GARAGE, THE TOW DRIVER SUGGESTED THAT HE TRY TO JUMP THE CAR TO AVOID HAVING TO PUSH THE CAR MANUALLY OUT OF THE GARAGE. THE CAR STARTED AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER 3 DAYS OF WORKING ON THE CAR, THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THE JUMP MAY HAVE FRIED THE COMPUTER SO IT NEEDED TO RECONFIGURED WHICH COST ME OVER $1000 (DUE TO IT NOT BEING UNDER WARRANTY). I WAS ONLY MADE AWARE OF THE MANY RECALLS THAT CHEVY HAS HAD ON THE CRUZE DUE TO HAVING TO TAKE THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN (WATER PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED) AND TALKING TO ANOTHER CUSTOMER ABOUT MY DISTASTE & FRUSTRATION THAT I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING WITH THIS CAR. I WAS NEVER MAILED ANY OF THE RECALLS WHICH I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY AS I'M ALWAYS RECEIVING MAILINGS FROM THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED MY CAR. MY CHILDREN & I ALMOST DIDN'T MAKE IT HOME! WAS EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH THE HEAT NOT HEATING UP THE CAR ON TUESDAY AND ON YESTERDAY, I WAS DRIVING NORTH ON THE 394 EXPRESSWAY AND RECEIVED AN ERROR MESSAGE ON MY DASHBOARD OF "A/C SHUT OFF DUE TO HIGH TEMPERATURES" SO I TURNED THE HEAT OFF AND THE GAUGE SLOWED MOVED BACK DOWN. HOWEVER, AFTER DRIVING A SHORT DISTANCE FURTHER THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE HAD MOVED ALL THE WAY TO THE "RED" LINE AND I RECEIVE THE ERROR MESSAGE TO "SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN" BECAUSE OF OVERHEATING. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED AND SLOWLY THE GAUGE MOVED BACK TO THE NORMAL POSITION. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THAT WORKED ON MY CAR LESS THAN 3 WEEKS AGO AND THE SERVICE ADVISOR INFORMED ME THAT IT MAY BE ANOTHER GLITCH BUT HE WANTED TO ENSURE THAT ALL OF MY FLUIDS WERE FINE AND SINCE I WASN'T VERY FAR FROM THE DEALERSHIP TO BRING THE CAR IN (EVEN THOUGH THEIR SERVICE DEPT WAS CLOSING IN ABOUT 20 MINS). AFTER LOOKING AT THE CAR, THE SERVICE ADVISOR INFORMED THAT JUST ABOUT ALL OF THE COOLANT RAN OUT AND THERE WAS PROBABLY AN ISSUE WITH THE WATER PUMP. I WAS SHOCKED, BOTHERED & FRUSTRATED BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN LESS THAN A MONTH THAT I JUST HAD TO HAVE THIS CAR WORKED ON. AS WITH MOST COMPLAINTS SUBMITTED TO THE DEALER THE TECHNICIAN SAID HE COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WHEN I TOOK IT IN TO BE LOOKED AT. AFTER TALKING TO A FEW CRUZE OWNERS ONE OF THEM SAID HE WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO " TURBO LAG ". THIS IS A PERIOD IN TIME THAT THE TURBO MOTOR MUST CATCH UP TO THE RPM'S OF THE ENGINE WHICH RESULTS IN THE HESITATION. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN TRYING TO ENTER A HIGHWAY OR MANEUVER OUT OF A CRITICAL SITUATION. GM MUST ACKNOWLEDGE THIS MALFUNCTION AND RECALL AFFECTED VEHICLES AND REPAIR THEM WHICH CAN BE DONE BY TWEEKING THE TURBO TO SYNC WITH THE ENGINE.

I PURCHASED MY FIRST NEW CAR IN 2011 AND THE FIRST YEAR WENT GREAT THEN EVERYTHING CHANGED AFTER THAT. THE CAR WOULD IDLE A LOT HIGHER THEN IT STARTED JERKING WHEN I DECELERATED AND ACCELERATED LIKE IT HAD A HARD TIME SHIFTING INTO GEARS. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER IN KALAMAZOO AND THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC AND CAME BACK WITH NOTHING. THEY EVEN KEPT IT FOR 3 WEEKS AND WEREN'T ABLE TO RECREATE IT THEN AS SOON AS I GOT IT ACTED UP. THEN SHORTLY AFTER THAT THE CAR WOULDN'T SHIFT GEARS UNTIL IT REACHED ABOUT 3000 TO 3500 RPMS ALONG WITH LAG IN ACCELERATION WHEN STEPPED ON THE GAS PEDAL. THIS ONLY HAPPENS PERIODICALLY. THIS HAS BEEN SOO FRUSTRATING AND I'M DISAPPOINT IN CHEVY AT THE MOMENT AND I QUESTION ON BUYING A NEW ONE IN THE FUTURE. *TR

ON APRIL 2, 2013 MY CAR DID NOT CHANGE GEARS PROPERLY AND IT HAD A LOUD NOISE. I COULD NOT MAKE IT TO THE ROBBINS CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP, SO I PULLED OVER AT THE NEAREST GAS STATION AND CALLED ROBBINS CHEVROLET AND EXPLAIN THIS PROBLEM OF THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE. THEY STATED TO CALL THEIR WRECKER SERVICE AND BRING THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP. I CALLED THE WRECKER AND MY WAIT TIME WAS 30 MINUTES AND I WAS TAKEN TO THE CAR DEALERSHIP SERVICE AREA AND ARRIVED AROUND 10:45AM. I EXPLAINED HOW THE CAR WAS STRAINING TO PULL GEARS AND IT WAS UNSAFE TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE IT IN THAT CONDITION. I WAS GIVEN A LOANER CAR AND THE ADVISOR, ALEX CALLED ME AROUND 4PM AND STATED MY CAR HAD A MECHANICAL ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND THE POWERTRAIN COVERAGE WARRANTY COVERED THE EXPENSES AND IT WOULD BE AVAILABLE FOR PICK UP ON 4/26/2013. *TR

I HAVE A CHEVROLET CRUZE, I BOUGHT IT IN OCTOBER OF 2010; AFTER A FEW MONTHS I DISCOVERED THAT MY CAR WAS SHIFTING ROUGHLY. I ALSO NOTICED THAT MY CAR WOULD NOT GAIN SPEED AT A NORMAL RATE. I HAVE FOUGHT FOR 2 YEARS TO HAVE MY CAR INSPECTED AND REPAIRS TO BE DONE; NOTHING HAS COME OF IT YET. I NOTIFIED GM WITH THE ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD PUT IN A NEW TRANSMISSION. I WAS ALSO NOTIFIED THAT THE ISSUE WOULD PERSIST, IT IS THE WAY MY MODEL TRANSMISSION WORKS. I KNOW THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN, MY CAR HAS ALREADY LEFT ME STRANDED ONCE. I BELIEVE THAT GM IS GOING UNDER THE RADAR AND JUST TRYING TO APPEASE ME WITH A NEW TRANSMISSION. I ALSO BELIEVE THAT MORE CAN BE DONE FOR THE PROBLEMS THAT PERSIST IN MY CAR AND GM IS REFUSING FOR IT TO BE DONE. MY CAR IS A SAFETY HAZARD FROM THE NUMEROUS RECALLS TO THE TRANSMISSION AND COMPUTER DEFECTS. MY 2011 CHEVY CRUZE HAS AN ERRATIC SHIFTING TRANSMISSION. AT TIMES IT IS CONFUSED AND HUNTS FOR GEARS. AT OTHER TIMES, IT HAS BANGED INTO GEAR. MOST OF MY DRIVING IS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AND NOT HIGHWAY DRIVING. THE SCARIEST PART IS THE LACK OF ACCELERATION AT TIMES WHEN STEPPING ON THE GAS. SEVERAL MONTHS AGO, WHILE EXITING A SHOPPING CENTER, I ALMOST GOT HIT BY A BUS I WAS A LITTLE INTO THE ROAD AND HAD TIME TO GO BEFORE THE BUS GOT TO ME, BUT WHEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS, NOTHING HAPPENED! LUCKILY, THE BUS HAD ROOM TO GO AROUND ME! I HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER MANY TIMES ABOUT THIS SITUATION, BUT AM TOLD THERE IS NO NEW UPDATE OR TRANSMISSION REFLASH FROM GM. SO, I THOUGHT IT WAS TIME TO STEP THINGS UP BECAUSE I DID A LOT OF RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET CONCERNING THIS VERY TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND LACK OF ACCELERATION FOR THE 2011 CRUZE AND IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON COMPLAINT OF MOST 2011 CRUZE OWNERS UNLESS THEY HAVE HAD SOMETHING CALLED A TRIFECTA TUNE DONE TO THEIR CARS, AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE. THEY CLAIM THIS PROCEDURE "CURES" THE SHIFTING PROBLEM. FIRST OFF, MY CAR IS A LEASE, SO I CANNOT MODIFY MY CAR IN ANY WAY. SECONDLY, WHY SHOULD I PAY HUNDREDS TO FIX SOMETHING THAT IS GM'S PROBLEM. ABOUT SIX MONTHS AGO, I CONTACTED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE. FROM ABOUT JULY, 2012 TO NOV. I HAVE BEEN HOOKED UP WITH THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE WHO WERE WITH THE EARLY RESPONSE TEAM IN THE BUSINESS RESOURCE CENTER. THERE WERE A TON OF PHONE CALLS FROM THEM, BUT IT WAS ALL TALK AND NO ACTION EXCEPT FOR A NEW TCM THAT WAS INSTALLED IN AUG. AT 10,196 MILES. THAT DID NOTHING TO IMPROVE THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTING. I THEN CONTACTED GM CORPORATE ON NOV. 7TH TO EXPLAIN MY PROBLEM. FROM THEN UNTIL TODAY, JAN.21, 2013 I DEALT WITH A GENTLEMEN. FINALLY, ON JAN. 15, AN ENGINEER WAS SENT TO MY DEALER. CONCLUSION- LIKE EVERYONE ELSE WITH THIS PROBLEM- "OPERATING AS DESIGNED"! I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE

THE CAR HAS PROBLEMS WITH ACCELERATION. IT POSES A SAFETY CONCERN ESPECIALLY WHEN CROSSING TRAFFIC AND OR PASSING ANOTHER CAR. THE CAR STILL HAS ITS MANUFACTURES WARRANTY AND I HAVE HAD IT AT THE DEALER'S AUTO SHOP ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS- ONE GUY THERE BELIEVES SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE CAR BUT IS NOT ABLE TO FIND WHAT IT IS. UNFORTUNATELY, I AM TOLD THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR AND THAT IS THE "CHARACTERISTICS" OF THAT CAR DUE TO THE TURBO. I DISAGREED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE EXITED THE VEHICLE WITH THE GEAR SHIFTED IN PARK AND THE ENGINE IN OPERATION. THE CONTACT WAS STANDING ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND WITHIN SEVERAL MOMENTS, THE VEHICLE ROLLED AWAY IN REVERSE. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RE-ENTER THE VEHICLE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DRAG HER UP AGAINST A CONCRETE POLE. THE CONTACT LANDED ON THE GROUND WHERE THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE WAS AND THE VEHICLE THEN DROVE OVER HER LEFT FOOT. THE CONTACT'S LEFT ARM SUSTAINED A SEVERE FRACTURE TO THE RADIUS AND HUMERUS. THE CONTACT ALSO SUSTAINED NERVE DAMAGE TO THE LEFT FOOT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER WHERE THE EXTERIOR BODY DAMAGES WERE REPAIRED. SOME TIME LATER, THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 11V273000 (POWER TRAIN: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: GEAR POSITION INDICATION-PRNDL). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY HARD BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND GEAR, AND SECOND AND THIRD GEAR. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE TRANSMISSION IS SHIFTING UP OR DOWN. THE OCCUPANTS IN THE VEHICLE GET A WHIPLASH EFFECT EVERY TIME THE CAR SHIFTS BETWEEN THESE GEARS. ALSO THE TRANSMISSION TAKES TOO LONG TO FIND A GEAR RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE NOT ACCELERATING WHEN THE DRIVER COMMANDS IT. THE CAR HAS STALLED WHILE STARTING DRIVING AWAY FROM A RED LIGHT FROM A FULL STOP, REQUIRING THE DRIVER TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN IN A CAR WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. WHILE IN MOTION THE CAR WILL SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND WILL NOT RESPOND TO THE DRIVERS PUSH ON THE GAS PEDAL. IT WILL THEN SLAM INTO GEAR, CAUSING A MORE VIOLENT WHIPLASH EFFECT THAN WHEN IT IS SHIFTING AS MENTIONED EARLIER IN THIS COMPLAINT. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THESE ISSUES AND THEY KEEP TELLING ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS OPERATING NORMALLY. NO TRANSMISSION SHOULD OPERATE THIS WAY, AND NO OTHER VEHICLE I HAVE EVER DRIVEN OPERATES AS BAD AS THIS 2011 CHEVY CRUZE. CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT HAPPENS INTERMEDIATELY. YOU LET UP ON THE BRAKES AND PRESS THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR JUST CREEPS FORWARD AND DOES NOT ACCELERATE. OCCURS MOST OFTEN WHEN THE CAR IS COLD OR THE A/C IN ON AND/OR YOU ARE MAKING A RIGHT OR LEFT TURN, HOWEVER, IT CAN OCCUR AT ANYTIME. THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO PRESS THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR AT WHICH POINT THE CAR WILL ACCELERATE TOO QUICKLY AND THROWS THE VEHICLE INTO TRAFFIC. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE AS A PRESENT FOR MY FATHER. AFTER GETTING IT HOME, (DRIVING IT HOME WAS ALL HIGHWAY), HE DROVE IT AROUND THE BLOCK AND NOTICED IT HAD A LAG IN THE VEHICLE SPEED. IT ALMOST FELT AS THOUGH IT WAS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. I DROVE IT HOME THAT NIGHT AND NOTICED THE SAME FEELING. IT'S ALMOST AS THOUGH IT TAKES A LOT OF EFFORT OUT OFTHE CAR TO KEEP DRIVING. IT DOWNSHIFTS BEFORE ITS SUPPOSED TO WHEN DRIVING AND AS A RESULTS ISN'T GETTING THE GAS MILEAGE ITS SUPPOSED TOO. DRIVING CITY, IT WAS ONLY GETTING 18-19MPG FOR ME. IT DOES MUCH BETTER ON THE HIGHWAY, OVER 55MPH, THEN WITH CITY DRIVING. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER, WHO TOOK IT TO A BIGGER CHEVY DEALER AND THEY STATED NOTHING WAS WRONG. GOT IT BACK AND ITS THE SAME WAY. WE LOVE THE CAR BUT WILL NOT DRIVE IT BECAUSE WE ARE AFRAID OF NOT KNOWING WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT AND POSSIBLY HAVING SOMETHING SERIOUS HAPPEN TO IT. THEY RESPONDED QUICKLY BUT TODAY I FIND OUT THAT THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT WORK WITH ME ON GETTING OUT OF THE CAR. IT'S BASICALLY ABOUT PAYING MORE TO GET IN ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE COMPUTER SAID IT WAS FINE, SO IT'S FINE. IF I HAD A SMALL CHILD, I WOULD NOT WANT THEM IN THIS CAR! I WILL NOT BE DRIVING MY GRANDSON IN THIS CAR. SEVERE DRIVE TRAIN DECOUPLING, AND HOOK UP DELAY, WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC AND SUBSEQUENT ATTEMPTS TO CHANGE LANES IN TRAFFIC. CLOSE CALLS NUMEROUS!!!! ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS INEVITABLE!!!!!!! FURTHER ASSESSMENT HAS SHOWN THE ONLY WAY TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE IS TO SHIFT TRANSMISSION TO MANUAL MODE AND KEEPING ENGINE SPEED ABOVE 2500RPM. THEREBY REDUCING TURBO LAG AND DISABLING MAJOR COMPUTER CONTROL OVER TRANSMISSION SHIFT FUNCTION. HAVE HAD THE CAR LESS THAN 1 YEAR AND HAD 50 MILES ON THE CAR WHEN I BOUGHT IT 8/2011. ON 6/19/2012 TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MILES AN HOUR MY 2011 CHEVY CRUZE (14,500 MILES) SUDDENLY BEGAN SLOWING AND THE ENGINE WAS REVVING HIGH. I PULLED OVER AND A LIGHT ON THE DASH APPEARED INDICATING "EMISSIONS PROBLEMS" ACCORDING TO THE MANUAL. IT IS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION BUT THE CAR DIDN'T WANT TO SHIFT ANY HIGHER THAN 3RD GEAR AND WOULD GO NO FASTER THAN 30-35 MILES AN HOUR WITHOUT REVVING IN THE DANGER ZONE. CAR WAS TOWED TO DEALER. THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE FAILED. $1300 FOR THE PART PLUS LABOR COSTS AND NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. WORRIED IT MAY OCCUR AGAIN BECAUSE I AM FINDING SIMILAR STORIES POSTED ONLINE.

I HAVE BEEN HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH HIS VEHICLE SINCE ITS PURCHASE IN JULY 2011. FIRST INCIDENT WAS THE DAY AFTER I ACCEPTED DELIVERY OF THE VEHICLE. DEALER STATED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG AFTER DRIVING WITH ME AND NO RECORD OF THE SERVICE WAS CREATED. AFTER CHANGING DEALERS, I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. ON FUTURE VISITS, THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED WHICH HELPED SOME, BUT DID NOT ALLEVIATE THE PROBLEM COMPLETELY. YESTERDAY, THE FOLLOWING WARNINGS WERE DISPLAYED: SERVICE STABILITRACK SYSTEM SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM I HAVE OPENED ANOTHER COMPLAINT WITH CHEVY STATING THE TRANSMISSION HAS ONGOING PROBLEMS AND I WANT MY MONEY REFUNDED. WHEN DRIVING AT 60-65MPH AND COMMANDING PASSING POWER, THE VEHICLE NORMALLY WILL BOG DOWN AS THE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED, THEN DISENGAGE THE GEAR, WAIT UP TO 3 SECONDS, REV UP 500-1,000RPM AND THEN ENGAGE THE GEAR AND BEGIN MOVING FORWARD (AT WHICH POINT IT IS WITHIN A FEW HUNDRED RPM OF REDLINE AND BOUNCES OFF OF THE FUEL CUTOFF.... WHILE IN DRIVE, NOT MANUAL MODE). THE TRANSMISSION ALSO SHIFTS HARSHLY UP AND DOWN RANDOMLY. UPON A COLD START, THE VEHICLE NEARLY STALLS WHEN COMING OUT OF A PARKING GARAGE WITH AN INCLINE, THEN PROCEEDS TO IDLE AT 1,800RPM AND PUSH THE VEHICLE FORWARD WITH NEARLY ENOUGH THRUST TO CAUSE A COLLISION IF THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NOT STOOD ON. THE VEHICLE HAS ALMOST STALLED ON ME WHILE DRIVING ON FLAT GROUND, A HANDFUL OF TIMES (SOMETIMES WHEN I TURN ON THE REAR DEFROSTER, SOMETIMES JUST COMING TO A STOP). ADDITIONALLY, THERE IS A PULSATING THAT CAN BE FELT THROUGHOUT THE CAR (MOST NOTABLY THROUGH THE BRAKE PEDAL) AND A GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE BAY. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN BROUGHT IN TO POWER CHEVROLET IN MESA, ARIZONA WHERE THESE CONCERNS WERE BROUGHT UP, INCLUDING THE CONCERN FOR SAFETY, AT WHICH POINT THE ECM AND TCM WERE RESET TO DEFAULT VALUES (WHICH MADE THE TRANSMISSION EVEN MORE HORRIBLE, DUE TO DELETING THE ADAPTIVE VALUES). I WAS SPOKEN TO LIKE A CHILD AND GIVEN A PRINTOUT EXPLAINING HOW AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND AUTO-STOP FEATURE WORKED AND TOLD THAT THE PULSATING (WHICH IS WIDELY ACKNOWLEDGED AS A BAD AC COMPRESSOR PART FOR THIS VEHICLE AND WAS MENTIONED TO THE DEALER WHEN THE CAR WAS BROUGHT IN) AND OTHER ISSUES WERE NON-EXISTENT. I HAVE A 2011 CHEVY CRUZE IT HAS A SHIFTING PROBLEM. I WAS DRIVING IT HOME ONE DAY AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT AND THE CAR BASICALLY STOPPED SUDDENLY. THIS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE THE CAR BEHIND ME ALMOST REAR ENDED ME BECAUSE OF THE SUDDEN STOP. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THE REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION COMPONENTS AND IT STILL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY ARE NOT SURE WHAT IS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM. THE CAR ALSO WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN TRING TO PASS SOMEONE. THESE ARE SOME SERIOUS ISSUES WITH THE CAR AND NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW HOW TO FIX THEM. *TT

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, SHE WOULD NOTICE THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE OR JERK FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER AND THEY ADVISED HER THAT THE TCM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPROGRAMMED FOR THE TCM YET THE FAILURE PERSISTED AND THE VEHICLE BECAME HESITANT TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS WITHIN MOMENTS OF LEAVING THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN BACK TO DEALER AND THEY ADVISED HER THAT ALL OF HER PARTICULAR YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE OPERATED IN THAT MANNER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 24. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE. THE CONTACT STATED THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPROGRAMMED, BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED WHEN THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE ACCELERATING AT ANY SPEED. THE BRAKE PEDAL EXTENDED TO THE FLOOR WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE VEHICLE MOVED BACKWARDS WHILE THE BRAKE WAS DEPRESSED CAUSING THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO A VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO DID NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS AND ADVISED THE CONTACT HOW THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 752,000.

I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2011 CHEVY CRUZE LS. AFTER ABOUT TWO WEEKS OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE I NOTICE THAT WHEN DRIVING IT IN MANUAL AND COMING TO A STOP THE CAR WOULD VIOLENTLY SHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONTACTED GM. THEY ALSO TEST DROVE EVERY CHEVY CRUZE LS MODEL AND NON-TURBO ENGINE CRUZE THEY HAD IN STOCK AND FOUND THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY CONTACTED GM AGAIN AND GM INFORMED THEM THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE LS AN NON-TURBO ENGINE MODELS AND THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE A SOLUTION OF FIX TO THE PROBLEM. I THEN CONTACTED GM AND ASKED THEM ABOUT THEIR 30 DAY GUARANTEE ON THEIR VEHICLES. THEY THEN INFORMED ME THAT THEY DO HAVE THAT POLICY BUT UNFORTUNATELY WOULD NOT HONOR IT BECAUSE OF MY CASE. WHEN I ASKED THEM WHAT THEY PLANNED TO DO ABOUT THE PROBLEM THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY WILL CONTINUE TO SELL THE VEHICLE AND RECALL THEM LATER WHEN THEY ARE ABLE TO FIND A SOLUTION OF FIX TO THE PROBLEM. THE CAR NOW HAS 1000 MILES ON IT AND I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR WITH MY FAMILY IN IT FOR FEAR THAT SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN WHILE I AM DRIVING. I THINK IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT GM IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND WILL NOT RECALL THAT AFFECTED MODELS. I HAVE A 2011 CHEVY CRUZE. I JUST PURCHASED IN NOV 2010. ONE MONTH AFTER I HAD THE CAR I HAD TO TAKE IT INTO THE DEALER DUE TO STEERING NOISE WHEN WHEEL WAS TURNED LEFT/RIGHT. THEY HAD TO LUBRICATE SOME PARTS BY THE WHEELS. STARTING IN FEB 2011 I NOTICE THE CAR STARTED TO LURCH FORWARD WHEN YOU TOOK YOU FOOT OF THE BRAKE. IT BOGS WHEN YOU TAKE OFF, YOU WILL GO THEN THE CAR BOGS AND THEN IT GOES AGAIN. WHEN ITS GOING INTO GEARS (I HAVE AN AUTOMATIC 6 SPEED) ITS ROUGH AND THE CAR JERKS WHENEVER YOU ACCELERATE OR WHEN YOUR SLOWING DOWN. WHEN YOU TRY TO PASS ANYONE THE CAR BOGS AND THEN GOES(NOT GOOD AT ALL). YOU CAN APPLY MORE PRESSURE ON THE PETAL TO REACH YOUR NEEDED SPEED THE CAR WILL BOG THEN GO. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP TWICE THIS MARCH. THE FIRST TIME THEY SAID THEY REPROGRAMMED THE TCM BUT I STILL HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THE SECOND TIME THEY KEPT IT FOR TWO DAYS AND THE SERVICE MANAGER DROVE IT THEN HE DROVE ANOTHER CRUZE ON THE LOT AND I WAS TOLD THIS IS THE WAY THE CAR DRIVES AND I WILL GET USED TO IT. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS THING TO GET USED TOO. IT IS AN UNSAFE CAR AND IM STUCK WITH IT FOR 5 MORE YRS. TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR. I HAVE READ OTHER CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ON THE CONSUMER GUIDE AUTOMOTIVE AND IT STATES THAT GM IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT THEY ONLY STATE TO REPROGRAM THE TCM WHICH DOES NOTHING! THE SERVICE MECHANICS CANT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE THEY STATE THERE'S NOTHING TO DO. THESE CRUZES ARE AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN AND THE PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE FIXED. I AM TERRIFIED OF DRIVING THIS NEW CAR DUE TO THESE PROBLEMS. BUT IM TOLD THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO BECAUSE THERE IS NO PROBLEM THAT'S HOW IT DRIVES.
