MY CAR KEPT SAYING "AC OFF DUE TO HIGH ENGINE HEAT" EVEN THOUGH MY CAR WAS NOT READING HOT WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THEN THE CAR WOULD START SMOKING AND BLOW A HOSE AND LIQUID WOULD BE EVERYWHERE. I HAD A BRAND NEW THERMOSTATE PUT IN AND IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING. ALSO A PREVIOUS RECALL ABOUT HOW THE TIRE COULD SEPRATE "TIRE ROD" IS STILL DOING IT AGAIN. I HAD 3 TRANSAXLE SEALS AND A TRANSMISSION SEAL, A MOTOR BLOWER FOR THE A.C ALL REPLACED WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR (STILL UNDER WARRENTY) OF OWNING THIS CAR. THE STABILITY TRACK WILL SHOW UP ON THE SCREEN. BUT I'M TIRED OF WORRYING WHEN MY CAR WILL WANT TO JUST RANDOMLY BLOW HOSES AND START SMOKING AND LEAVE ME STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD! WHILE MY SON WAS DRIVING THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY THE ENGINE STARTED TO SMOKE. HE PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. HE WAITED 10 MINTUES AND STARTED THE CAR TO HEAD BACK HOME. WHEN HE ARRIVED HOME LIQUID WAS LEAKING OUT THE CAR AND THE CAR HAD SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. AT THIS TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. GM HAD SENT A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL (N202299080), A COUPLE OF DAYS PRIOR. I CALLED THEM ON MONDAY AND THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO A DEALER. I CALLED THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALER AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE RECALL NOTICE. HE TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN. I CALLED A TOW TRUCK DRIVER AND LEFT THE CAR AT THE CHEVY DEALER. ATER THEY HAD THE CAR FOR TWO WEEKS, THEY EXPLAINED THAT IT WILL BE $2000 TO FIX THE VEHICLE, EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE CURRENTLY 4 RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. I CALLED GM SEVERAL TIMES TO ASK HOW ARE THEY GOING TO RECTIFY THIS, WITH NO CALL-BACK. THE VEHICLE IS STILL AT THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP.

I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY TURBO CHARGE SYSTEM(S) FOR A COUPLE YEARS. I HAVE BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO BE SERVICED SEVERAL TIMES AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS LATER I'M STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. MY ENGINE LIGHT COMES OFF AND ON SO I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL THE HE LIGHT WAS ON FOR A DIAGNOSIS. I WAS THEN TOLD I NEEDED TO REPLACE MY TURBO BOOST SYSTEM. I HEN ASKED ABOUT THE PREVIOUS REPAIR TO MY TURBO SYSTEM I WAS TOLD THERE WAS MORE THAN ONE. THEN A STABILITRAK/ TRACTION POPS UP PERIODICALLY. ON JUNE 22, MY CAR WOULD NOT START, I COULD NOT REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. THINKING IT WAS THE BATTERY, I GOT A JUMP AND PROCEEDED ON MY WAY. WHEN I WAS LEAVING MY DESTINATION, TO HAD TO JUMP START MY CAR AGAIN. THE ENGINE LIGHT ISN'T ON CURRENTLY , SO I AM UNABLE TO GET ANOTHER DIAGNOSIS. THIS HAS BEEN THE WORSE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH CHEVROLET DIRECTLY OVER THE PAST COUPLE YEARS AND THEY PROVIDED ABSOLUTELY NO RESOLUTION. MY CAR ISN'T GAINING SPEED.. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE LAST YEAR. I HAVE BEEN GETTING MESSAGES ON MY DASH WITH ERRORS SUCH AS SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL/SERVICE STABILITRAK. THE CAR SLOWS DOWN TO 5 SPEED AND IT STALLS /JERK WHEN DRIVING. THIS IS NOT SAFE AND I ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF IT. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE. TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSIS CHECK AND WAS TOLD NOTHING SHOWED UP BUT A LOW BATTERY. I GOT THAT FIXED AND THE CAR IS STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. AFTER ABOUT 2 WEEKS, I STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL, AFTER A FEW MONTHS, THE CRUISE SWITCH HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER. DURING THE TIME I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE, I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE THERMOSTAT CONTROL, AS WELL AS A COIL IN THE ENGINE. FOR THE PAST 2-3 MONTHS OR SO, I'LL BE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND THE SERVICE STABILITY TRACK WILL SHOW UP, WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BLINKING. MY CAR WONT LET ME SPEED UP, AND IT WILL SLOWLY SLOW DOWN. IF I HAVE MY CRUISE ON WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE CAR'S RPM WILL SHOOT UP IN AN ATTEMPT TO GET BACK TO THE SPEED I HAD IT SET AT. AFTER ABOUT A MINUTE WITH THE LIGHTS ON, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL STOP BLINKING AND THE CAR WILL GO BACK TO NORMAL (THE TRACTION LIGHT WONT TURN OFF UNTIL I TURN OFF THE CAR). I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO MY MECHANIC, AND HIS COMPUTER SHOWS CODE UO100, WHICH IS "LOST COMMUNICATION WITH ENGINE CONTROL MODULE", WHICH IS A VERY GENERAL CODE AND COULD COME FROM ANYWHERE. HE CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. THE WIRES SEEM CONNECTED PROPERLY, AND EVERYTHING SEEMS FINE, OTHER THAN THE LIGHT ISSUE. IT HAPPENS WHILE I'M DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, AT ANY RANDOM MOMENT. IT OCCURS AT LEAST EVERY 3 DAYS, IF NOT EVERYDAY.

JUST SUDDENLY MY CAR LOST ALL THE POWER AND THROTTLE WHEN I WAS TRAVELLING IN A HIGHWAY AROUND 70 MPH ON THE SECOND FASTEST LANE. IT WAS VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS SITUATION ONCE MY THROTTLE WAS COMPLETE UNRESPONSIVE AND COULD FIND MYSELF AT THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AT 5MPH . MY INSTINCT WAS TO TURN ON THE HAZARD LIGHTS AND TRY TO MOVE THE CAR TO THE SLOWEST LANE AS SAFE AS POSSIBLE. I FEEL LUCKY THAT NO ONE HIT ME IN THE BACK AND I CONSIDER THAT I WAS LUCKY TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM AT THIS TIME OF THE EVENING. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO TAKE THE EXIT [XXX] AND FROM THERE PARK THE CAR TO EVALUATE IT. I COULD NOT FIND ANY VISIBLE DEFECT EITHER INTERNALLY OR ON ENGINE COMPARTMENT. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND ON SEVERAL TIMES AND STILL HAD THE SAME CLUSTER MESSAGES AND DERATED POWER. I WAS STILL ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR SAFELY TO THE PARKING LOT OF [XXX] LOOKING FOR A SAFER PLACE TO WAIT FOR MY INSURANCE COMPANY. WHEN WAITING FOR THE AAA OPERATOR I WAS ABLE TO RE-START THE CAR WITH NO DISPLAY MESSAGE BUT ONLY WITH THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT ON. I DROVE THE CAR IN THE PARKING LOT AND NOTICED THE CAR SEEMED TO BE OK. ONCE ON THAT TIME I WAS STILL WAITING FOR THE AAA OPERATOR I DECIDED TO TAKE [XXX] AND I WAS ABLE TO SAFE ARRIVE HOME. CHECKING THE SYMPTOM I HAD IN GOOGLE AND YOUTUBE I LEARNED ABOUT THE PROBLEM WITH THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE WHICH IS ALREADY KNOWN BY NHTSA AND GM. I HOPE MY INCIDENCE CAN BE INVESTIGATED AND A DECISION FOR RECALL BE TAKEN.I DON'T SEE ANY DIFFERENCE TO WHAT EXPERIENCED WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH TOPIC THEREFORE THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AS POTENTIAL RECALL. OK SO I NEEDED A NEW CAR AND WENT AND ENDED UP AT A NICE LOOKING USED CAR LOT AND FINANCED A 2013 CHEVY CRUZE LT. SINCE PURCHASING THE CAR. (AT THIS MOMENT I'VE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR 23 DAYS) I HAD THE CAR LOOKED OVER BY MY MECHANIC AND EVERYTHING LOOKED GOOD AND FINE. AND SINCE DAY 1 THESE ARE THE RECALLS THAT HAVE BEEN MADE ON THIS VEHICLE BUT NOT FOR MY VIN BUT IS HAPPENING WITH THE CAR IN ORDER FROM WHEN FIRST NOTICED. FIRST I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND THE CAR JERKED FORWARD AND HONESTLY SCARED ME AS IT FELT LIKE I HAD JUST BEEN HIT BY THE CAR BEHIND ME. ( WHICH WASNT THE CASE AS I GOT OUT TO CHECK). WELL THEN AFTER A FEW DAYS IM ON THE INTERSTATA AND DECIDED TO USE THE SPEED CONTROL, AT FIRST IT WAS JUST LIKE YOU WOULD EXPECT IT TO BE BUT AFTER NOT EVEN 5 MINUTES THE CAR STARTS ACTING LIKE IN TAPPING AND RELEASING THE GAS AND WILL NOT STOP UNLESS SPEED CONTROL IS TURNED OFF OR STOPPED. SO THEN I RUN OVER A NAIL AND GO TO REPLACE THE TIRE AND THE MECHANIC LOOKS OVER THE CAR AGAIN AND BRING AN OIL LEAK TO MY ATTTENTION FROM THE OIL PAN AND SHOWN VISIBLE OIL ON THE GASKET. (ALREADY UNDER MY LIMITED DEALER WARRANTY). SO SINCE THEN I HAVE CHECKED THE OIL EVERY DAY JUST TO BE SURE IM NOT RUNNING LOW AND IT WASNT LOW. WELL LIKE A WEEK LATER I MAKE A DRIVE I HAVE ACTUALLY MADE IN THIS CAR ABOUT 6 TIMES ALREADY TO HAVE LUNCH WITH A FRIEND AND WHEN I GET THERE TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN THE FRIEND IS 10 MIN AWAY SO I RESTART THE CAR FOR THE AC. DIDNT HAVE THE CAR BACK ON FOR 2 MIN AND THE CAR STARTED BEEPING WITH ENGINE OVERHEAT WARNING. TURNED THE CAR OFF AND POPPED HOOD TO CHECK AND FROM THE OVERHEATING I GUESS THERE WAS PRESSURE ON THE HOSE IT JUST POPPED THE HOSE FROM THE CLAMP AND COOLANT WENT EVERY WHERE. 3/22 -- ON MY WAY TO WORK (A BRIEF 5-MILE DRIVE), THE 'CHECK ENGINE' LIGHT CAME ON AND A WARNING ABOUT THE STABILITRAK SYSTEM APPEARED ON MY DASHBOARD DISPLAY SCREEN. THE ENGINE POWER WAS AUTOMATICALLY REDUCED, AND MY CAR WOULD NOT GO BEYOND 25-30 MILES PER HOUR. FORTUNATELY, I HAD EXITED THE HIGHWAY AND HAD JUST TURNED LEFT ONTO A SURFACE STREET. AT THE TIME, IT WAS RAINING, BUT NOT HEAVILY. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT I HAD STARTED MY CAR THAT DAY, SO THE ENGINE WAS FRESH. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO WORK; HOWEVER, WHEN I LEFT WORK A COUPLE OF HOURS LATER, THE 'CHECK ENGINE' LIGHT AND STABILITRAK WARNING WERE STILL DISPLAYED. I DROVE STRAIGHT HOME. 3/23 -- WHEN I STARTED MY CAR, THE 'CHECK ENGINE' LIGHT AND STABILITRAK WARNING WERE STILL DISPLAYED. I RAN A COUPLE OF ERRANDS AROUND TOWN, AND NOTHING CHANGED. I DECIDED TO 'REST' MY CAR FOR A DAY OR TWO WHILE I RESEARCHED THE SITUATION AND FIGURED OUT A PLAN. 3/25 -- WHEN I STARTED MY CAR, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON, BUT THE STABILITRAK WARNING WAS GONE (I.E., MY DASHBOARD DISPLAY APPEARED AS IT NORMALLY WOULD, EXCEPT FOR THE 'CHECK ENGINE' LIGHT). AFTER I HAD DRIVEN MY CAR TO MAKE A COUPLE OF STOPS AROUND TOWN, THE STABILITRAK LIGHT CAME BACK ON. 3/26 -- THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS DISPLAYED AT ALL WHEN I STARTED MY CAR; I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR AROUND TOWN DURING THE MORNING WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS COMING BACK ON. 3/27 -- WHEN I DROVE TO WORK, THE 'CHECK ENGINE' LIGHT AND STABILITRAK WARNING WERE NOT ON WHEN I STARTED MY CAR; HOWEVER, THEY DID CAME BACK ON JUST AS I ARRIVED AT WORK (ABOUT 5 MINUTES AFTER I HAD STARTED MY CAR). FOR SAFETY REASONS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE WARNING LIGHTS ARE DISPLAYED OR NOT, I HAVE TAKEN CARE TO DRIVE ONLY WHEN I ABSOLUTELY NEED TO, ONLY ON SURFACE STREETS, AND WITH MY SPEED AT OR BELOW 25 MPH. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY NOT SUSTAINABLE LONG-TERM.

I HAVE TWO COMPLAINTS ON MY VEHICLE, 1.SEVERAL TIMES THE VEHICLE WENT INTO A LOSS OF ENGINE POWER MODE WHERE IT WAS IN AN IDLE POSITION WITH NO ABILITY TO ACCELERATE, THE DISPLAY SHOWED LOSS OF ENGINE POWER, NO STABILTRACK AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WOULD TRANSITION TO A LOSS OF POWER MODE ON THE MAIN ROAD, I HAD TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF, WAIT ABOUT 60 SECONDS AND RESTART, MY POWER WAS RESTORED, THIS HAPPENED ON 3 OCCASIONS. 2. THE SECOND COMPLAINT IS REGARDING THE LOW COOLANT LEVEL, I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED DEALER AND THEY PUT THE COOLANT SYSTEM UNDER PRESSURE AND DETECTED NO LEAK, THEY ADDED COOLANT SINCE IT WAS VERY LOW AND ASKED ME TO LEAVE THE CAR WITH THEM FOR A DAY OR TWO AND SUGGESTED IT MAY BE THE RADIATOR. I REFUSED AND ASKED THEM TO ADD A DYE TO THE SYSTEM THAT WOULD INDICATE THE LEAK PATH AND I WOULD RETURN THE NEXT DAY, THEY REFUSED.

WELL, THE SERVICE ANTITHEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM CONTINUES TO COME ON, BUT GOES AWAY. CAR IS FINE. LAST SATURDAY MY CAR WOULDN'T START UNTIL THE 3RD TRY. THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF, ABSOLUTELY NO POWER, KEY WOULDN'T COME OUT OF THE IGNITION. AFTER 15 MINUTES IT STARTED, THE RADIO FLICKER. ON MY WAY TO WORK, THE RADIO KEPT CUTTING OUT THEN AS I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO TURN, MY STEERING AND BRAKES GAVE OUT, NEARLY CAUSING A HUGE COLLISION! INTERMITTENTLY THE ANTI-THEFT LIGHT GOES ON, WITHOUT WARNING AT AN HIGH SPEEDS OR WHEN PARKED AND SHUTS DOWN ALL SYSTEMS, IMMOBILIZING THE CAR. THIS INCLUDES THE RADIO, STEERING, MOTOR. TWO DAYS AGO I WAS DRIVING AND THIS HAPPENED, THE CAR SHUT DOWN, I COULDN'T STEER OR DRIVE THE CAR, A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THIS HAS ALSO HAPPENED WHEN TRYING TO START THE CAR, THE ANT-THEFT SYSTEM SHUTS DOWN THE CAR. THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN. WHEN TAKEN TO AUTO DEALER, THE CAR WORKS FINE. THE CAR HAS 66,000 MILES. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 6 TIMES, BUT THE LAST ONE WAS THE WORST, TRAVELLING AT HIGH SPEED AND LOSING CONTROL OF THE CAR. IN A CONVERSATION WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT STEVE RAYMAN OF SMYRNA, GA HE SAID THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE CAUSED THE PROBLEMS WITH THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, GAUGES, AND THE STEERING WHEEL JERKING TO THE LEFT. I CHOSE TO CONTACT GENERAL MOTORS BECAUSE I JUST COULD NOT BELIEVE A NEGATIVE CABLE COULD CAUSE SUCH PROBLEMS. AS MENTIONED EARLIER, GM PERSONNEL TOLD ME THAT THREE REMEDIES MADE UP SPECIAL COVERAGE 14311' 1, NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE NEEDS REPLACEMENT. 2. VOLTAGE REGULATOR NEEDS ADJUSTMENT 3. A SCREW NEEDS TO BE TIGHTENED. IN A SECOND CONVERSATION WITH STEVE RAYMAN PERSONNEL AND GM, BOTH SAID IT WAS THE CABLE AND NOT THE VOLTAGE REGULATORS. THE CAR HAD BEEN IN MY GARAGE FOR THE LAST FEW DAYS WITH A DEAD BATTERY. THIS MORNING I JUMP-STARTED THE VEHICLE; SO, WE CAN ASSUME THE ALTERNATOR WAS WORKING PROPERLY BECAUSE THE CAR CONTINUES TO RUN AFTER DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY CABLES. I DROVE TO THE STORE IN ORDER TO PURCHASE AND REPLACE THE BATTERY I NOTICED THE BATTERY VOLTAGE WAS READING 15.1 VOLTS. AFTER REPLACING THE BATTERY, I WAS RETURNING HOME AND NOTICED THE BATTERY VOLTAGE FLUCTUATED FROM 14.7 WHILE IDLING TO 14.8 WHILE DRIVING. MY QUESTION TO YOU THE ALTERNATOR APPEARS TO WORKING CORRECTLY BY PROVIDING ELECTRICAL POWER TO OPERATE THE CAR WHILE USING A DEAD BATTERY. IF THERE WERE A POWER FLUCTUATION, WOULD IT BE REASONABLE TO ASSUME THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR COULD BE THE PROBLEM. COULD ERRATIC VOLTAGE CAUSE THE INSTRUMENTS TO GO HAYWIRE AND COULD LEAD TO THE CAR'S ENGINE TURNING OFF? COULD SUCH AN OCCURRENCE CAUSE A CATASTROPHE ACCIDENT AND RISK THE LIVE OF ALL VEHICLE OCCUPANTS?

I GOT IN MY CAR TO LEAVE FOR WORK ON AUGUST 1, 2014 AND WHEN I STARTED MY CAR, THE ON DASH MAINTENANCE REMINDERS ALL WENT CRAZY TELLING ME TO "SERVICE POWER STEERING" AND "SERVICE STABILITRAK".. I KNEW THIS COULDN'T BE RIGHT SO I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTED THE CAR, THE SCREEN WENT CRAZY AGAIN WITH THE SERVICE NOTIFICATIONS. THE CARS RADIO AND OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS (EX. ON-STAR, PHONE CHARGERS, USB PRODUCTS) WILL TURN ON AND OFF AT RANDOM. IT OCCURS RANDOMLY AND INTERMITTENTLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS ROUGHLY 15-20 TIMES OVER A COUPLE OF MONTHS. IT MAINLY HAPPENS AT A RED LIGHT AND THEN WILL TURN BACK ON ONCE I ACCELERATE. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON A HIGHWAY GOING 60-70MPH AND THE EVERY LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD WENT ON AND ON THE DISPLAY SCREEN IT STATED STABLITRAX IS OFF. IMMEDIATELY PRESSED MY ONSTAR BUTTON AND ASKED THEM TO RUN DIAGNOSIS AND THE WHOLE CONVERSATION WAS GOING IN AND OUT OF BEING ABLE TO HEAR THEM. MY RADIO WAS GOING ON AND OFF THE ENTIRE TIME WHEN THE RADIO WAS ON I COULD HEAR WHEN IT WAS OFF AND ALL POWER WAS OFF. WE DID LOSS CONNECTION TO ONSTAR AND I REPRESSED THE BUTTON. I HAVE HAD THEM RUN THEIR "DIAGNOSIS" MULTIPLE TIMES WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND THEY NEVER HAVE ANYTHING COME UP WRONG. THEY ADVISED ME TO TALE THE DEALER. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED ME THAT UNLESS IT WAS HAPPENING AT THAT TIME IT WOULD PRETTY MUCH BE IMPOSSIBLE TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM.
