The cars first started telling me randomly that it needed service to the stabilitrak and the. Would disappear, the next component was the anti theft activated and after turning car off..next time I tried to turn on, it acted as if battery was dead and locked my key in ignition. Fixed itself a couple hours later. Next time it gave me issues all of these components started to come on at same time while also causing power steering to come on and go out in the middle of driving which could have caused a horrible wreck (didn’t thank god) and also started flickering lights inside and outside of car, and the radio turned on and off as well…the car now will not turn on and acts as if battery is dead unless I use cables and have someone jump start my car…it definitely seems to be shorting out like the wiring isn’t working the way it should…I have now taken it to auto one and they tested battery and altinater and said both were in great condition, so I researched and have seen that my car make and model years from 2011-2015 have a recall on the negative battery cable not being crimped right enough but my car specifically isn’t included because it is past its warranty…which I’m sorry is ridiculous in every way no matter any warranty this was a mistake made by the manufacturer and it should be corrected on every car that is included in the years they specifically stated themselves they failed to do correctly when made…my car behaving this way and putting me and my family in danger is nothing that is our fault but the manufacturers and it should 100% be covered…I’m currently waiting to have it looked at by mechanic to reconfirm what I already know, and will know shortly that it is indeed the negative battery cable..I need this covered and corrected by dealer near me

The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact coasted to the side of the road and stopped the vehicle. The contact stated restarted the vehicle after several attempts. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated there was white smoke coming from the exhaust. The contact stated that the failure had become a recurring failure. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the water pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the water pump failed again and was replaced; however, recently the water pump failed again. Additionally, the contact stated that there were electrical failures with the vehicle and the doors failed to lock as needed. The contact also stated that the steering wheel had locked up on several occasions. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

I purchased 2013 chevy cruze in 2021. Starting with steering going out, all electrical power is affected. Radio comes on and off. Light comes on to check stab trak. Engine started while key in ignition but I wasn't in car. I can't afford to get a different car now a days. I'm disabled and need this car to get to my Dr appts But I'm afraid the vehicle will kill me, someone or worse. This vehicle needs a very very serious recall to fix this before someone is killed. That won't work!! FIX IT PLEASE I BEG YOU!!!

When i turn left or right stereo shuts off all my warning lights come on and steering gos out.and sometimes it shuts down.Almost got hit a cause it did this .This is a serious safety issue.Nobody can pin point the problem.then a code says open and close drivers window.If i get killed cause this car does this .and getting worse .chevy will be sued .can you get chevy to repair this possible faulty .problem.may a recall in electric system.

AT RANDOM TIMES, MY STEREO WILL GO BLANK, NO SOUND, NO BLINKER SOUNDS, NOTHING. AT THE SAME TIME, THE SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE STABITRAX WILL START FLASHING ON AND OFF. WHILE DRIVING AND IN MOTION THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF. AFTER SHUTTING OFF THE ABS MALFUNCTIONS AND THE STEERING MALFUNCTIONS. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE NOW, BOTH ON CITY STREETS. ONCE DISABLED THE VEHICLE WILL NOT RESTART ON IT'S OWN; IT DOESN'T EVEN TURN OVER. THE VEHICLE WILL, HOWEVER, RESTART IF JUMP STARTED. THE FIRST OCCURRENCE PRESENTED WITH A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THAT CODED AS A FAULTY CAM SHAFT SENSOR. THIS WAS REPLACED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT AWAY. THE SECOND OCCURRENCE PRESENTED WITH NO LIGHTS OR WARNINGS. BOTH THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR WERE TESTED AND ARE FUNCTIONING.

THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO HAVE THE STEERING GO OUT WHILE DRIVING. GM NEEDS TO FIND OUT WHY THIS IS HAPPENING AND FIX IT.

AT THE SAME TIME, THE "SERVICE STABILITRAK" MESSAGE MOMENTARILY APPEARS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THERE ISN'T A TREND TO WHEN THIS HAPPENS. SOMETIMES IT WON'T HAPPEN FOR A WEEK, OTHER TIMES IT WILL HAPPEN MULTIPLE TIMES IN A SINGLE DRIVE. LAST WEEK, THIS HAPPENED AND I ALSO LOST POWER STEERING AND COULD NOT STEER FOR WHAT FELT LIKE A COUPLE SECONDS. BASED ON THE CHEVROLET CRUZE CUSTOMER FORUM, THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM AND OTHER'S HAVE ALSO LOST POWER STEERING PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT. THERE IS NOT A RECALL FOR MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE OR A PERMANENT CORRECTIVE ACTION THAT I'VE FOUND. IT HAS BECOME A SAFETY CONCERN AND GM SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND RECALL THE AFFECTED VEHICLES BEFORE POWER STEERING IS LOST AT HIGHER SPEEDS.

WELL, THE SERVICE ANTITHEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM CONTINUES TO COME ON, BUT GOES AWAY. CAR IS FINE. LAST SATURDAY MY CAR WOULDN'T START UNTIL THE 3RD TRY. THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF, ABSOLUTELY NO POWER, KEY WOULDN'T COME OUT OF THE IGNITION. AFTER 15 MINUTES IT STARTED, THE RADIO FLICKER. ON MY WAY TO WORK, THE RADIO KEPT CUTTING OUT THEN AS I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO TURN, MY STEERING AND BRAKES GAVE OUT, NEARLY CAUSING A HUGE COLLISION! THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON THING WITH THE 2013 CRUZE LT. CHEVY NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING! I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR ANYMORE! NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW THE PROBLEM? WHEN I RESTARTED IT WAS FINE. SPORADICALLY OVER THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS THE INFO CENTER WOULD BLIP OUT AND THE SERVICE STABILITRAK LIGHT WOULD COME ON. THE DEALER COULD NEVER REPLICATE THE ISSUE. IT NEVER INVOLVED THE STEERING UNTIL NOW.

WHEN THE HEATER WAS ACTIVATED, AN ODOR OF ANTIFREEZE AND FUEL EMITTED INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. I HAD AN ISSUE STARTING THE CAR A WEEK AFTER PURCHASING IT IN FEBRUARY. RANDOM WARNING LIGHTS WOULD TURN ON AND OFF. I READ THROUGH THE OWNERS MANUAL AND IT SAID IT MAY BE A SECURITY ISSUE IF THE KEY ISN'T CLEAN. I CLEANED THE KEY IT SEEMED TO HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM BUT AFTER A FEW MONTHS IT CAME BACK BRIEFLY AND I'D CLEAN THE KEY AND IT WOULD BE FINE. ON THE MORNING OF JULY 30TH THE CAR GRINDED THE GEARS AND THEN HAD TROUBLE STARTING AS IF THE BATTERY WERE DEAD. THE KEY WAS CLEAN. AFTER A COUPLE TRIES IT STARTED. LATER THAT DAY THE POWER STEERING ALERT CAME ON AND THE ENGINE BOGGED DOWN AND I LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE FOR A BRIEF MOMENT. THE LIGHT WENT BACK OFF AND IT WORKED FINE FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. THE NEXT DAY AFTER RUNNING FINE ALL DAY WHILE ON AN EXIT RAMP OF A HIGHWAY MULTIPLE ALERTS BEGAN GOING OFF AND ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND A MOMENT LATER THE CAR STALLED. THE DRIVER WAS TRAVELING ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY IN BALDWIN COUNTY, ALABAMA, WHEN SHE APPROACHED A RIGHT HAND CURVE (WHICH THE DRIVER WAS FULLY AWARE OF). DUE TO LOSS OF BRAKING ABILITY, THE VEHICLE WENT STRAIGHT OFF ROADWAY AND CRASHED CAUSING SIGNIFICANT PERSONAL INJURY TO THE DRIVER. FURTHER, THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. WE CONTACTED GM, AND AGREED TO ALLOW GM REPRESENTATIVES INVESTIGATE THE INCIDENT BY DOWNLOADING THE ESIS INFORMATION, WITH THE AGREEMENT THAT GM WOULD PROVIDE THE OWNER WITH THE RESULTS OF SAID INVESTIGATION IN A READILY UNDERSTANDABLE FORMAT. AFTER DOWNLOADING THE INFORMATION, GM DENIED ANY LIABILITY FOR THE INCIDENT, AND REFUSED TO PROVIDE THE OWNER WITH THE RESULTS OF ITS INVESTIGATION IN A FORMAT THAT WAS READILY UNDERSTANDABLE. I PURCHASED A FULL PREMIUM WARRANTY WITH THE VEHICLE WHEN I BOUGHT IT THAT COVERS EVERYTHING FOR 100K MILES/7 YEARS, SO THERE SHOULD BE NO ISSUES WITH THIS REQUEST OF FIXING/REPLACING THE ISSUE.

THE STEERING DOES NOT FEEL STABLE. AT VARIOUS TIMES MOSTLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE STEERING FEELS AS THOUGH THERE IS NO CONNECTION FOR A SPLIT SECOND WITH THE TIE ROD THAT CONTROLS THE STEERING. THE CAR WILL ACTUALLY PULL SLIGHTLY AND REQUIRE CORRECTION FROM TIME TO TIME. THE PULL CAN BE EITHER TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT AND NOT RELATED TO ANY POSSIBLE WIND. THE CAR HAD BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER MARCH 14, 2013, WITH NO CHANGE IN THIS SITUATION. THE FEELING IS SIMILAR TO DRIVING SOME OF THE OLD JUNKS FROM DAYS GONE BY BACK IN THE 60'S WHERE THE STEERING WAS LOOSE AND REQUIRED BOTH HANDS FIRMLY ON THE WHEEL AND CONSTANT CORRECTION GOING DOWN THE ROAD. *TR

IN APRIL OF 2013 MY 2013 CHEVY CRUZE SHUT OFF WHILE ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE OFF FROM A RED LIGHT THAT JUST TURNED GREEN, AS SOON AS I STEPPED ON THE GAS PEDAL THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF. THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES BEHIND ME SO I IMMEDIATELY TRIED TURNING THE CAR ON BUT I HAD TO PUT IT PARK THEN START IT AGAIN AND CONTINUED EN ROUTE AND DID NOT THINK ANYTHING OF IT. THIS HAPPENED TWICE WITHIN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS. THE FOURTH INCIDENT I HAD A CAR FULL OF FAMILY MEMBER AND WE WERE GETTING ON THE FREEWAY ON RAMP SLOWING TO COME TO A STOP WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN SO AS SOON AS I STEPPED ON THE GAS PEDAL THE CAR SHUT DOWN AND I HAD NO CONTROL AND WAS ALMOST HIT FROM BEHIND LUCKILY THERE WAS NO CAR IN THE LANE OVER SO THE TRUCK BEHIND ME SWERVED INTO THE NEXT LANE AND I ONCE AGAIN PUT THE CAR IN PARK STARTED AGAIN AND IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT A FEW WEEKS LATER THAT THEY FIGURED THE PROBLEM WAS A LOW OCTANE GAS AND I JUST NEEDED TO START USING CHEVRON ONLY AND THEY WOULD GIVE ME $250 IN CHEVRON GAS CARDS. I REFUSED TO PICK UP THE CAR BECAUSE I ALREADY ONLY USED CHEVRON GAS IN THE VEHICLE SINCE I PURCHASED IT IN DECEMBER 2012 WITH ONLY 3 MILES. AFTER 2 MONTHS OF ARGUING BACK IN FORTH ABOUT THEM NOT HAVING A FIX FOR THE CAR I RETURNED THE RENTAL AND PURCHASED A DIFFERENT VEHICLE ELSEWHERE AND FILED A COMPLAINT WITH GM WHICH ALSO GAVE ME THE RUN AROUND ABOUT THE VEHICLE BEING FIXED WHEN IT WASN'T EVER WORKED ON TO THIS DAY THEY HAVE THE CAR AND I AM NOW IN COLLECTIONS AND CONTINUING THIS HEADACHE WITH GM. THEY SAID ITS NOT A RECALL BUT I HAVE SPOKEN TO SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE INCLUDING THE RENTAL COMPANY THAT HAS HAD THE CHEVY CRUZE SHUT OFF ON THEM AS WELL. *TR

WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A FULL STOP, FELT THE VEHICLE LOSE POWER AND HEARD LOUD NOISES COMING FROM UNDER THE CAR. CAME TO A FULL STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY ROAD. TURNED OFF THE CAR. TURNED IT BACK ON AND ATTEMPTED TO MOVE THE CAR TO NO AVAIL. PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THE CAR STARTED TO ROLL BACKWARDS. CAR HAD TO GET TOWED. CHEVY DEALERSHIP STATES THE FRONT RIGHT AXLE SNAPPED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET CRUZE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT TRAVEL IN THE DIRECTION BEING STEERED. THERE WAS FORCE APPLIED TO THE STEERING WHEEL IN ORDER TO CONTINUE DRIVING. IN ADDITION, THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED GEARS AND LUNGED FORWARD INTERMITTENTLY WHEN AT A STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,500.

AFTER DRIVING THIS VEHICLE FOR 660 MILES, I'VE NOTICED THAT THERE'S A GRINDING OR KNOCKING FEELING ON THE ACCELERATOR. I FIRST NOTICED IT WHILE PULLING IT OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. I FELT A KNOCKING ON THE ACCELERATOR. IT'S NOT WEATHER SENSITIVE AND GIVES THE SAME FEELING REGARDLESS OF SPEED. IT'S NO PREDICTABLE FOR THE KNOCKING FEELING I GET ON THE ACCELERATOR. I DRIVE ON HIGHWAY FOR MUCH OF MY TIME AND NOTICE THE FEELING SIMILAR TO MY OLD CAR WHEN THE BEARINGS STARTED TO GO BAD. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH IT'S COMING FROM THE FRONT LEFT SIDE. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO MY DEALER AND THEY QUICKLY HAVE LOOKED AT IT AS WELL AS TAKING IT FOR A DRIVE. AFTER CHECKING THE CAR OVER NOTHING HAS BEEN FOUND TO BE WRONG. AFTER DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 90 MILES AT FREEWAY SPEEDS, THE STEERING BECOMES "NOTCHY". MINOR STEERING CORRECTIONS BECOME ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE SINCE THE STEERING WHEEL WILL ONLY MOVE IN FINITE INCREMENTS SO DRIVING THE CAR BECOMES DIFFICULT, EVEN DANGEROUS SINCE IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO POSITION IT PROPERLY IN THE TRAFFIC LANE. WEATHER OR TEMPERATURE DOES NOT SEEM TO AFFECT THE PROBLEM. THE CAR STEERS PROPERLY ON SHORT TRIPS BUT ON A REGULAR, WEEKLY TRIP I MAKE, THE PROBLEM ALWAYS OCCURS AFTER ABOUT 90 MILES. AFTER THE CAR IS STOPPED (AT THE 130 MILE MARK) FOR A COUPLE HOURS, THE PROBLEM DOES NOT REOCCUR AT START-UP. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED AND CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM--BUT HASN'T DRIVEN THE CAR FOR MORE THAN A MILE OR SO.
