This Problem Across All Years
I was driving South on interstate 55 near Arnold Missouri in adaptive cruise control mode at approximately 65 mph when the car braked suddenly and came to a complete stop on the interstate. Car would not go forward after stopping. Turned the car off and restarted and the car now would drive normally. Have not used ACC since and car has behaved normally. Took the car to dealership in Farmington, MO and they reported no error codes and no recalls. I had driven over 13,000 miles in the car without any incidents previously.

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving and attempting to reverse, the brakes unexpectedly engaged. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V639000 (Forward Collision Avoidance). The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Backing out of a parking spot, no one around the car slams on the brakes and starts screeching! Scared the crap out of me and nearly gave me whiplash.

The vehicle will randomly brake on its own. I can be doing 70 on the interstate with no one around and it will disengage cruise and brake hard. It has nearly caused one accident when i had someone following me too closely.

Front or rear sensors Slamming on breaks multi times called on star not able to get in for service sometimes car for would have many error message systems not available key not in car while driving - cameras not working while on atleast 25 calls to on star and 4 or 5 hours on hold with chevy ev department Because of this CAR was traded in financial loss was over $18,000

The Equinox EV has rear Automatic Emergency Braking. On multiple occasions while backing up the vehicle's AEB has activated by slamming on the parking brake. A check of the rear camera and sensor system shows the vehicle detected nothing. A visual check also shows nothing behind the vehicle that's outside the sensor system's field of view. When this happens it feels like you just backed into a wall - hard. Latest incident was this morning while backing into a spot in a parking garage.

I took it for a test drive with the sales person in the city next to me on the passenger seat.I was on the interstate with adaptive cruise control on. When the electric breaks failed and all kinds of information popped up on the screen. The display screen toggled between, "Brake System Failure - 62 MPH Top Speed" and "Service ESC". Fortunately, interstate was not too crowded. I could sense that it took a great deal of effort effort to slow down the vehicle. So luckily there was an exit coming soon. So exited the interstate and found a shopping center parking lot. Was able to slow slowly pull into the parking lot And pull into a spot with great difficulty. Turn the car off and turn the car back on and the arrow is disappeared, and the car began to function normally.
