I BOUGHT THIS OFF OF A PRIVATE PERSON ,SHORTLY AFTER IT STARTED NOT TAKEN ITS GAS AND DYING OUT ON THE HIGHWAY OR SHORT ERRANDS ,I STARTED PUTTING A BUNCH OF MONEY IN IT IVE REPLACED ALL I KNOW TO DO AND IT STILL WONT TAKES ITS GAS ,I HAVE BEEN STALLED IN AN INTERSECTION BEFORE BECAUSE I HAD NO PEDAL IF YOU TURN IT OFF IT STARTS BUT JUST WONT TAKE THE GAS ,I HEARD THIS VEHICAL WAS RECALLED AND I DONT KNOW IF ITS NEVER BEEN FIXED OR WHATS GOING ON WITH IT ,IVE HAD IT TO MANY MECHANICS AND NO ONE CAN FIX IT ,CAN YOU TELL ME IF ANY OF THIS IS ON THE RECALL LIST AND IF ITS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF IT ? three times now my gas pedal has stuck down to the floor and had unsafe speeds reaching 95mph this is unsafe for us and others on the road wrote GM several times now with no help from them this needs to be checked out for everyone out there how many wrecks and rear end collision happened because of this acceleration issue mine seem to happen when you take it off cruise control and then accelerate the gas pedal but he dealerships can't find an answer I am asking for your help before someone get killed because no one wants to take action

I had just bought this car from a friend of mine and the first couple days it was fine then I was on the interstate and it started making this loud sound and stop going in the middle of the interstate and I was stuck on the interstate with my child and couldn’t get the dam thing to go anywhere I called someone to come help me they looked at it and said it was the engine or the time and chain I’m not really sure of what the problem is but it scared me so back I couldn’t get over to the shoulder to save my life I was stuck

I purchased a 2011 Chevy Equinox LT from a used car dealer in April 2022 with 153,000 miles on it. The second day I had it the brake caliper completely fell off of my front passenger tire causing my wheels to lock. Couple days later I noticed that after an extended time of driving anything more than 10-15 minutes it. The RPMs would fluctuate sometimes dropping down to zero and the vehicle stalls. The excessive amount of oil used in this vehicle is ridiculous I literally got an oil change and a week later it said I was low but my oil notification on my Dash messages said oil life remaining 95% check engine light comes on and it's the p0042 for catalyst system not at threshold. This literally should be a class action lawsuit because this is ridiculous

i was pulling out of a business in my town and the vehicle shut off several feet onto highway us 41 with traffic comeing both way towards me and i was stopped crossways and coasted into a vacant lot .i kept pushing the accelerator and it stated back up and stopped again ,then suddenly started and i made it home!i had it checked at my home by a licened mechanicand all codes read everything was w.orking as it should,no default error, i could have easily ben killed when it stopped,now what should i do?

TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME THE PROBLEM IS THE SPEED SENSOR. IT WAS REPAIRED FOR $463.91. I THEN TRAVELED 31/2 HOURS AWAY FOR A MONTH. THE NEXT DAY THE LIGHT AGAIN APPEARED BUT I WAS TRAVELING AND I CALLED TWICE TO THE DEALER SERVICE PERSON AND THERE WAS NO RETURN CALL..WHEN I RETURNED 4 WEEKS LATER I BROUGHT THE CAR IN THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD FOR $585.00 I COULD HAVE THE LEFT REAR WHEEL REPAIRED.FRANKLY I FELT LIKE I WAS BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF, I'M 80 YEARS OLD. I REFUSED THEIR OFFER. IN THE PAST I RECEIVED NOTICES OF POTENTIAL PROBLEMS WITH THE EQUINOX BUT THE DEALER SERVICE PEOPLE DO NOT INFORM, MAYBE BECAUSE THEY ARE ON A COMMISSION PLUS SALARY INCOME.

MECHANIC SAID GM KNOWS ABOUT THESE ISSUES AND REFUSES TO DO A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR TEN PLUS YEARS.

I BOUGHT A 2011 EQUINOX IN MAY A COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER HAVING THE CAR I WAS HEARING CLICKING NOISES TOOK BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME IT WAS JUST THE AIR CONDITION. A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER MY CAR STARTED TO ROCK BACK IN FOURTH WHEN AT A LIGHT AND SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING. I TOOK IT AGAIN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHEN THEY TOLD ME IT WAS AN OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE AND I NEEDED TO TAKE IT TO A CHEVY DEALERSHIP. I TOOK IT IN THEY SAID THAT I NEEDED A TIMING CHAIN FILED UNDER MU WARRANTY AND I PAID THE DEDUCTIBLE. I WAS THEN TOLD THAT IT WASN'T GOING TO FIX THE ISSUE STATING I NEEDED TO BRING IT BACK AFTER A 1000 MILES AND THAT GM WOULD HANDLE THE PROBLEM AT HAND. I THEN TOOK IT BACK AND BEHIND MY BACK THEY TRIED TO CALL MY WARRANTY COMPANY TO SEE IF THEY WOULD PAY. MY WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THEIR PROBLEM. THEN WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD HANDLE EVERYTHING BUT I STILL WOULD HAVE TO PAY MONEY OUT OF POCKET. IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN 90 DAYS SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE.

TIMING BELT FAILED WITHIN TWO YEARS OF THE FIRST TIME BEING FIXED. FIRST TIME WAS WHEN VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED USED AT APPROX 123K, SECOND TIME IT HAS FAILED IS APPROX 179K. THERE IS AN ONGOING OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE. I HAVE HEARD THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON THE OIL ISSUE THAT WAS NOT PUBLICALLY ANNOUNCED AND I WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT WHY IT WASNT IF IN FACT THIS IS AN ISSUE. TIMING BELT SHOULD NOT FAIL TWICE . TOOK VEHICLE IN TO SHOP AFTER VEHICLE BEGAN SHAKING VIOLENTLY AND JUMPING WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT, IN DRIVE WITH THE BREAKS ON. WHEN I WENT TO DRIVE, VECHICLE WOULD DRIVE BUT HAD SEVERE LOSS IN POER AND WAS VIBRATING THE WHOLE TIME. ANYWAYS IT WASN'T LONG AFTER BUYING IT THAT IT STARTED MAKING NOISES THAT SOUNDED LIKE THE VEHICLE WAS GOING TO RADDLE APART ANY MIN. FROM DAY ONE IT GOES THROUGH OIL LIKE CRAZY! IT SEEMS LIKE I PUT MORE OIL IN THEN FUEL. THEN SHE WAS COMING HOME FROM WORK ONE DAY AND THE TRANNY STOPPED WORKING. PUSHING ON THE GAS ONLY MADE RPS GO UP, LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. SO WE TOWED IT TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP WITH A GREAT REPUTATION. IT DIDN'T TAKE LONG FOR THEM TO FIND THE PROBLEM AND TELL US THE BAD NEWS. WHOLE TRANNY NEEDED TO BE DONE AND THE BILL WASN'T GOING TO BE CHEAP. IT ENDED UP COSTING US AROUND 3700 DOLLARS AFTER IT WAS ALL SAID AND DONE. FEW WEEK WENT BY AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. SO WE BROUGHT IT BACK AND MORE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THANK THE LIARS THE SHOP GUARANTEES THEIR WORK BECAUSE THEY TOOK IT FOR ANOTHER WEEK. WE GOT IT BACK A RIGHT AWAY IT WAS SLIPPING GOING INTO 3RD EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE. ONCE AGAIN WE HAD ISSUES WITH IF AND THIS TIME THE GUY SAID HE GOING TO ORDER SOME AFTERMARKET PARTS INSTEAD OF USING THE CHEAP FACTORY CRAP! THE TRANNY HAS WORKED SINCE THEN BUT I KNOW THAT IT'S NOT WORKING PERFECT EITHER. SINCE THEN WE HAVE HAD TO DUMP ANOTHER FEW THOUSAND REPLACING GASKETS, THE TIMING CHAIN, AND EXHAUST MANIFOLD. NOW A NEW PROBLEM JUST CAME UP AND THE CENTER DASH WENT BLANK AND NOTHING WORKS ON IT. THE DISPLAY IS BLANK, NO RADIO, CAN'T ADJUST AIR FLOW AND ALL INTERIOR SOUND STOP MAKING NOISES. LIKE THE TICKING OF THE BLINKER OR DINGING ARE JUST NOT WORKING! WE COULD HAVE THE CAR PAID OFF WITH THE AMOUNT OF MONEY WE SUNK IN HER CAR!! I HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS VEHICUL AND FEEL HELPLESS. WE STILL OWN ON THE CAR AND I DONT THINK IT WILL EVER BE PAID OFF BEFORE IT DIES FOR GOOD!

IT IS LIKE IT WAS A SNEAK ATTACK AND IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS SORT OF THING IS HAPPENING TO OTHER OWNERS. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED WHEN THEY FOUND THIS ISSUE. FROM THE OIL CONSUMPTION AND STILL HAVING PROBLEMS AND EVEN SMELLS LIKE BURNING CAUSING ODOR WHICH IS VERY STRONG, STALLING ISSUES WHERE MY CAR HAS EVEN STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AFTER A NEW ENGINE WAS PUT IN, THE ENGINE TICKING STILL DOES AND STALLING EVEN WITH NEW ENGINE PUT IN HAVE VIDEO OF THE SOUNDS IT MAKES THAT THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIGURE OUT WHAT'S GOING ON AFTER ALL THIS TIME AND THE CLATTERING NOISE WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED. I HAVE CONTACTED GM NUMEROUS TIMES BECAUSE I DO NOT FEEL SAFE WITH ME NOR MY CHILDREN IN THIS CAR. WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS ONLINE AND THEY STILL WON'T RECALL THE VEHICLE AND BE CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF THE CUSTOMER. CHEVROLET EQUINOX 2011 USES EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL. I HAVE TO ADD OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. I KEEP EXTRA OIL ON HAND ALWAYS. THE CAR MAKES RATTLING NOISE AT START UP AND JUST DOESN'T SOUND GOOD WHEN RUNNING. IT RUNS SLUGGISHLY. I WASN'T AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. I ONLY HAD TO ADD OIL BETWEEN CHANGES TO MY PREVIOUS CAR WHEN IT WAS LEAKING ON THE GROUND. I WENT TO HAVE OIL CHANGED AND THERE WAS NONE ON THE DIPSTICK. I HAD NO IDEA. WHEN I ADD OIL THE RATTLING SEEMS TO GO AWAY FOR A WHILE. I CAN'T AFFORD TO BUY ANOTHER CAR OR REPLACE THE MOTOR IF THE OIL CONSUMPTION CAUSES THE NEED FOR THAT.

STALLING OUT WHILE SITTING IN DRIVE AT RED LIGHT. GOT UP FOR WORK AND TURNED TRUCK ON, SOUNDED VERY ROUGH. PUT TRUCK IN REVERSE AND TOOK OFF AND WHEN STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT THE RPMS WOULD MOVE ON THEIR OWN, CAR STARTS BOUNCING, MOTOR IS RATTLING, AND SOMETIMES STALLS OUT. I HAVE TO PUT THE TRUCK IN NEUTRAL AT EVERY LIGHT FOR IT TO NOT ROCK BACK AND FOURTH. NEXT DAY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME OUT, READINGS INDICATED IT WAS THE THROTTLE SENSOR BODY AND THE SOLENOIDS. I REPLACED ALL OF THESE AND TRUCK IS STILL RUNNING THE SAME, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON. AFTER DOING RESEARCH I HAVE READ WELL OVER 50 OF THE SAME COMPLAINT OF THESE VEHICLES DOING THE SAME THING! WE NEED HELP!

I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN 2014 WITH APPROX. 80,000 MILES ON IT BUT WAS TOLD BY THE SALES ASSOCIATE THAT THIS WAS A GREAT CAR AND A GREAT DEAL. THIS CAR HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. THE CAR HAS A TICKING NOISE AND SOUNDS LIKE A DIESEL BUT EVERYTIME I TOOK IT IN TO CHEVY THEY TOLD ME THIS IS THE WAY CHEVY CARS SOUND AND THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. FINALLY MY ENGINE LIGHT TURNS ON AND THE CAR WILL NO LONGER TURN ON SO I HAVE TO GET IT TOWED AND THEY TELL ME THE INTAKE CAM ACTUATOR SOLENOIDS WENT OUT SO THEY REPLACED IT. THEN I CONTINUE TO HEAR THE TICKING NOISE AND THE CAR STILL RUNS ROUGH AND LOUD BUT AGAIN THEY TELL ME NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE CAR. ONCE AGAIN THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND I HAVE TO GET TOWED BACK INTO TOWN OVER TWO HOURS AWAY FOR THEM TO TELL ME THE TRANMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I CONTACTED GM AND WAS TOLD THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU BUY A USED CAR. HOW RUDE! NOW I AM NO LONGER UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND MY CAR IS BACK AT CHEVY. THEY WANT ME TO PAY FOR 4 HOURS OF LABOR TO TAKE APART MY ENGINE SO THEY CAN TELL ME WHAT EXACTLY IS WRONG WITH MY CAR BUT DID MENTION A PROBLEM WITH THE TIMING CHAIN. ARE THEY CRAZY? THESE CARS ARE A COMPLETE JOKE. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT GM WOULD NOT RECALL THESE CARS WITH THE EXTENSIVE ISSUES THAT SO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING WITH THEM. I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH MY BLOWER MOTOR EVER SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW - EVERY TIME I TAKE IT IN IT INTO A CERTIFIED CHEVY DEALERSHIP THE ISSUES IS NOT HAPPENING BY THE TIME I GET THERE THEY JUST TELL ME "WELL THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO IF THE ISSUE IS NOT HAPPENING" IT IS THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER AND NOT HAVING AIR FOR THE FIRST FEW MINUTES IS HORRIBLE, BY THE TIME I GET CLOSE TO THE DEALERSHIP IT STARTS WORKING AGAIN SO NOT ONLY AM I WASTING GAS TRYING TO GET TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT I'M HOT OR COLD WHILE TRYING TO DO IT... I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO FRUSTRATED WITH A VEHICLE AS I AM WITH THIS ONE... I LITERALLY HAVE TO HIT A DEEP POTHOLE FOR IT KICK IN WHICH MAKES ME THINK IT IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE BUT EVERY TIME I TRY TO GET THEM TO DO IT THEY JUST TELL BE WELL THERE WILL BE A FEE FOR DIAGNOSING IT EVEN THOUGH I HAVE BEEN TELLING THEN SINCE 2012 THAT THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN HAPPENING SPORADICALLY. THAT IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE AT MINIMUM THE BLOWER MOTOR SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED IF THEY DID NOT FIND ANY ISSUES IN THE WIRING BUT THEY REFUSE TO NARROW DOWN THE ISSUE. THE ISSUE NORMALLY HAPPENS WHEN I FIRST START THE CAR BUT I HAVE NOTICED IT SOMETIMES STRUGGLES WHILE DRIVING AS WELL... SO THE ISSUE IS JUST GETTING WORSE. ON TOP OF THAT - EVERY TIME I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY NEVER NOTED THAT I HAD COMPLAINED ABOUT THE ISSUE SINCE BACK IN 2012 AND FINALLY I MADE THEM ENTER IT INTO THE SYSTEM PRIOR TO MY MANUFACTURER WARRANTY EXPIRING SO I HAVE PAPER PROOF OF THE ISSUE HAPPENING BEFORE IT EXPIRED WHEN IT WOULD BE FULLY COVERED.

WHILE DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY WITH AN 18 WHEELER BEHIND ME, THE VEHICLE STOPPED GOING FORWARD WHEN I PUSHED ON THE GAS. IT WAS STILL RUNNING BUT HAD NO POWER AND BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN TO NOTHING. I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, BUT WAS ALMOST RUN OVER DUE TO THE SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER. I CUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND TRIED TO RESTART IT, BUT IT WOULD ONLY MAKE A CLICKING SOUND. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP WE TOWED IT TO, THE TIMING CHAIN SLIPPED AND RUINED THE MOTOR. THIS IS A 2011 VEHICLE WITH ONLY 73000 MILES ON IT. THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED AND SINCE WE MADE OUR FINAL PAYMENT LAST MONTH, NONE OF IT IS UNDER WARRANTY. SURELY THIS IS NOT TYPICAL OF THIS VEHICLE AND THE CHEVROLET COMPANY CAN STAND BEHIND THIS REPAIR.

I BOUGHT MY 2011 CHEVY EQUINOX BRAND NEW, IN 2011. 4/2015 I HAD A LEAK IN MY A/C LINE RESULTING IN A $450 CHARGE (MY WARRANTY HAD JUST EXPIRED). NOW, 10 MONTHS LATER UPON TURNING ON MY A/C FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS YEAR, YET AGAIN MY A/C IS NOT WORKING. IN TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY, I'M NOW TOLD THAT MY COMPRESSOR NEEDS REPLACING WITH A PRICE TAG OF $963. UPON ONLINE RESEARCH, THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AMONGST 2010 AND 2011 EQUINOX. I'M NOT SURE AS TO WHY CHEVROLET HASN'T LOOKED FURTHER INTO THIS ISSUE AND/OR ISSUED A RECALL. THIS SHOULDN'T BE HAPPENING ON VEHICLES THAT ARE 4-5 YEARS OLD. I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM GM/CHEVROLET IN AUGUST 2015 REGARDING OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUES IN MY 2011 CHEVROLET EQUINOX (SERVICE BULLETIN NO.: SB-15285). I AM CURRENTLY HAVING THIS ISSUE MONITORED FOR THIS AS I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO HAVE BRING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP EVERY 1,000 MILES FOR MONITORING BEFORE THEY WOULD DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS. IN THE MEANTIME I HAVE GOTTEN A CHECK ENGINE CODE P0420 WHICH RELATES TO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. MY EQUINOX HAS JUST AT 84,500 MILES ON IT AND THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WARRANTY IS ONLY 80,000. I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER THIS MORNING AND WAS TOLD THE CONVERTER NEEDED REPLACING. AFTER SPEAKING WITH MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS AND MECHANICS I UNDERSTAND AND HAVE BEEN TOLD MULTIPLE TIMES THAT THE OIL CONSUMPTION AND PISTON ISSUES HAVE CAUSED THIS PROBLEM YET GM/CHEVROLET IS TELLING ME THEY WILL ONLY HELP ME APPROXIMATELY $200 TO HELP WITH THE NEW CONVERTER. THEY MUST KNOW THIS IS WHAT'S CAUSED THIS ISSUE AS IT APPEARS THAT A LOT THE 2010 EQUINOX HAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUE AND PROBLEMS. I WOULD REALLY LIKE FOR GM/CHEVROLET TO FIX THE CONVERTER ON MY EQUINOX AT 100% THEIR COST AS IT HAS HAD MULTIPLE OTHER ISSUES INCLUDING TRANSMISSION (COVERED UNDER A BULLETIN LISTED ON YOUR SITE HERE) , CAMSHAFT ACTUATOR (COVERED UNDER A BULLETIN LISTED ON YOUR SITE HERE), ETC. THE CONVERTER PER QUOTES ARE ANYWHERE FROM $600-$1,200 WHICH IS A LOT OF MONEY FOR AN ISSUE THAT WAS CAUSED BY THE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE THEY KNOW ABOUT, BUT HAVE TO MONITOR FIRST BEFORE THEY WILL FIX IT.

ON THE AFTERNOON OF AUGUST 12,2015 I WAS WALKING TOWARDS THE REAR OPEN DOOR THAT MY NEPHEW HAD OPENED. COLUMBIA, SC--I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO REPAIR AN IGNITION ISSUE AND TOLD THEM THAT I WAS HAVING A WHINING-TYPE ENGINE NOISE WHEN I ACCELERATED WHILE THE A/C WAS ON, AND THAT THE A/C WAS STARTING TO LOSE ITS COOLING CAPACITY. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED ME THAT MY COMPRESSOR WAS GOING OUT, BUT THAT IT WOULD PROBABLY LAST INTO THE SUMMER, BUT BY THE END OF APRIL I HAD TO HAVE IT REPLACED, TO THE TUNE OF $1260. EVEN THOUGH MY CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BECAUSE OF YEARS, IT HAD LESS THAN 28,000 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF THE COMPRESSOR FAILURE. I CONTACTED GM AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS BEYOND THEIR 3-YEAR WARRANTY PERIOD. I POSTED THIS ISSUE ON A SITE CALLED REPAIRPAL, AND I HAVE RECEIVED NUMEROUS EMAILS FROM OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.

I HAVE HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH MY 2011 CHEVY EQUINOX THAT STARTED OCCURRING ABOUT A YEAR AFTER I PURCHASED IT. THE MAIN CONCERNS ARE THE ENGINE NOISE AND HOW ROUGH IT RUNS, FEELING AS THOUGH I AM BEING REAR-ENDED IN TRAFFIC (WHEN MOVING FORWARD FROM A COMPLETE STOP IT LURCHES FORWARD, GIVING THE FEELING OF BEING HIT), ROUGH START UP (SOUNDS LIKE AN OLD CAR AT TIMES) AND THE CAR STUTTERS WHEN ACCELERATING (ALMOST FEELS LIKE IT WANTS TO STALL OUT).
