My car engine blew do to an over oil consumption. There appears to have been a recall but I was never notified. My car is at a dealership and the cost is 11k for new engine do I have any recourse? Timing chain replaced june 2023 by libertyville chevrolet. Libertyville il No one mentioned this engine recall to me then either.

The infotainment screen goes blank. I can hear the radio but nothing is on the screen so I can not use any buttons. This also affects the backup camera, being able to see that area to check to make sure nothing is behind the vehicle. The dealership can not duplicate the issue as this happens randomly, mainly when there is a lot of rain/wetness. I have been dealing with this for exactly 10 years now, January 2014-2024. I have all service papers from taking it in and not once did they offer to check other areas to see if something else could be causing this issue. I took it again, after contacting Chevrolet, for the umpteenth time, and paid for diagnostics. The dealership now says it supposedly is the atenna, that water is getting in and causing the issue.

Recall for oil burning consumption I took car to dealership to fix but I’m continuing to have the same problems and still no oil light comes on and it continues to use oil some where and it never leaks onto the ground and new problems now it’s jerking when at a stop if idle for to long a warning light says reduced engine power. Very unsafe in traffic

My car is burning oil I only drive to work which is only 20 miles away I put oil in 2 days ago and it’s rattling and sounds like it’s knocking and is a quart low it says it’s at 54% till my next oil change also my oil cap has condensation under it. How can this be fixed? Also yesterday when I was leaving for work my radio totally went off blank screen for almost a minute, I live in the country and I don’t want to be stranded on the side of the road at 5:00 in the morning I love my car but, how can these 2 issues be fix? Is there anything you can do to fix this?

SINCE I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE AND MADE CAR PAYMENT ONE, I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE BEST VEHICLE FOR ME. THEN SHORTLY THERE AFTER CAME THE RECALLS/PROBLEMS (Catalytic Converter, Electrical System inside the vehicle, and last but not least, the Engine. I have to make sure I take the vehicle in 1000-1500 miles early than normal because of the oil is low and the vehicle. The vehicle starts to vibrate/shake in the steering wheel and making noise that I know that it is time for the Oil Change. This vehicle has been not at all what I thought it was. I have spoken to someone at GM, which was supposed to get back to me. Please call for more information. [XXX]. Really would like to resolve this. My car caught fire 1 minute after it started smoking while I was driving it due to an electrical issue. I nearly died. The fire totaled my car. I had to pull over as fast as possible and nearly caught a nearby restaurant on fire. It was inspected by the fire department. There was no warning messages or symptoms.

The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the gear shifter failed to shift out of PARK and the key would not move, preventing the contact from turning off the vehicle. The contact also mentioned that the service air bag warning light was illuminated. The contact initially called the dealer where they informed him to tow the vehicle to the dealer location. The contact then called AAA where they were able to reset the gear box; the contact was then able to shift the vehicle into the DRIVE and drove to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed the failure with a defective gear box; the vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer while they awaited for the parts to repair the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V502000 (Electrical System, Power Train) however, the vehicle was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 168,000.

AN AROUND THE SAME TIME AGAIN I CHECK THE OIL AGAIN IT WAS A LOW AGAIN SO I HAD IT CHANGE AGAIN THIS TIME THE OIL FILTER LOOK GOOD IT TO LOOK THE FIRST TIME, LIKE IT HAD NOT BEEN CHANGE. THEN IT STARTED SKIPPING AND LIKE IT DID WANT TO STAY CRACK UP LIKE IT WANTED TO CUT OFF ON,IT STILL DOING IT HARDLY EVER DRIVE IT THEN THE TRANSMISSION STARTED TO ACT UP I STARTED TO HAVE IT NOT WANTING TO CHANGE GEARS BUT THEN IT STOP. I PURCHASED MY 2013 CHEVY EQUINOX NEW. WITHIN MONTHS THE RADIO TURNED OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING, THE DISPLAY SCREEN WENT BLACK, AND THEN CAME BACK ON TO THE CHEVY LINK DISPLAY. THIS WOULD HAPPEN WHETHER OR NOT THE RADIO WAS ON. THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE REPLACED THE CENTER STACK; NOT ONCE, BUT TWICE. AS A NOTE, I WAS TOLD THAT OTHER DRIVERS WITH THIS ISSUE REPORTED THE CAR TURNING ITSELF OFF WHEN THE SCREEN WENT BLACK. I HAVE ALSO PAID $150 FOR 'SOFTWARE UPDATES' WHEN THE CAR SEEMED TO 'LOSE ITS SETTINGS' AFTER IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. SIX YEARS LATER THE ISSUE PERSISTS, INCLUDING LOSS OF BLUETOOTH CAPABILITY FOR SEVERAL DAYS, AND THE CLOCK ALWAYS RUNS 2 MINUTES SLOW. I CAN RESET THE TIME, BUT EACH TIME THE CAR IS RESTARTED, THE TIME IS INCORRECT. THE CAR HAS ALSO EXPERIENCED LOSS OF 'BLINKER SOUND' WHEN THE TURN SIGNAL IS ON. THE SIGNAL WORKS, THE LIGHT IS WORKING ON THE DASH, BUT THERE IS NO SOUND.

I PURCHED A 2013 CHEVY EQUINOX BRAND NEW. TWO YEARS AFTER HAVING IT THE CENTER CONSOLE FOR MY RADIO AND HEAT/AIR CONTROL WOULD NOT WORK. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY FIXED IT. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A MODULE SWITCH. THEN IN APRIL 2017 IT DID IT AGAIN! TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE AIR HVAC. THEN AUGUST 2018 IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME I AM TOLD IT IS THE RADIO HVAC AND THAT NOW IT IS NOT COVERED ON WARRANTY AND THAT I HAVE TO PAY $650 TO HAVE IT FIXED. I BELIEVE THIS HAS BEEN A MAJOR PROBLEM FROM THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED AND JUST KEEP GETTING TOLD SOMETHING DIFFERENT EVERYTIME. THE SAME THING HAPPENS BUT HAVE BEEN TOLD A DIFFERENT PROBLEM BY THE CHEVY DEALER WITH THE EXPENSE GOING UP EACH TIME.

THE CAR DIDN'T START AFTER PARKING FOR FOOD PICKUP, WE NOTICED THAT AFTER GETTING A BOOST, THE 'ENGINE LIGHT' WAS LIT, IT STAYED ON. THIS HAPPENED TWICE AGAIN, BUT WE USED OUR INSURANCE ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE, AGAIN THE 'ENGINE LIGHT' REMAINED LIT. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES, WHEREAS WE PURCHASED A BATTERY CHARGER. DURING DRIVE/ WAITING AT MULTIPLE RED LIGHTS, AND BACKING OUT OF PARKING SPACES, THE CAR STALLS- TO THE POINT WE PUT IT 'N', AFTER EXPERIENCING STALLS WHEN PLACED IN 'P'. THE OIL CAN BE LOW, BUT NO INDICATOR ON THE PANEL, BUT THE PANEL READS CHECK ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, SO WE TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND INFORMED IT WAS THE BATTERY, SEEKING ANOTHER OPINION, WE WERE TOLD IT WASN'T THE BATTERY, BUT ANOTHER PART OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. UPON TRYING TO HAVE THE CAR INSPECTED, WE WERE TURNED DOWN DUE TO THE 'ENGINE LIGHT'. WE WENT TO A REPUTABLE CAR PART DEALER, AND INFORMED IT WAS THE TIMING CHAIN, TIMING SENSOR, ALONG WITH (2) TWO OTHER CODES. THE BATTERY IS HID UNDER A HOUSING/ COVER, WHICH MADE IT HARD TO GET A BOOST, WHEN THE RECOMMENDED CHARGING PROCEDURE DIDN'T WORK. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING, AND RESEARCH LEADS US TO UNDERSTAND, THAT A COSTLY REPAIR IS AHEAD. PLUS, OUR RESEARCH OF THE EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS, SHOWS THAT THEY OCCURRED IN EARLIER MODELS. THE (2013)VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FROM A NATIONAL CAR RENTAL AGENCY, NOV 2015, IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS DEFECTIVE AT PURCHASE TIME, WITH UNRESOLVED ISSUES AS EARLIER MODELS? ADDITIONALLY, THE CAR HAS VEERED/ JERKED TO EITHER SIDE, FROM STOP TO GO, AND WHILE DRIVING, WITHOUT US TURNING THE WHEEL. THANK THE LORD THE LATTER, OCCURRED AT LOW SPEEDS, AND DRY PAVEMENT. THE 'WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN' DATE IS THE LATEST DATE, NOT THE ONLY DATE.

I HAVE EXPERIENCED YEARS LONG RADIO UNIT COMPLICATIONS WITH MY CHEVY EQUINOX (2013) SINCE PURCHASED BRAND-NEW IN SEPTEMBER OF 2013. I HAVE PATIENTLY DONE EVERYTHING I HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED TO DO (BROUGHT IT IN-AND-OUT FOR SERVICE/REPAIRS, REPORTED IT TO GM, TALKED WITH SERVICE MANAGERS, HAD A TECHNICIAN BROUGHT IN, YOU NAME IT...). THE RADIO UNIT/ELECTRICAL SYSTEM KEEPS FAILING, SO TO SAY. THE RADIO SCREEN WILL BLACK OUT WHILE DRIVING, THE SCREEN WILL GO FUZZY LIKE AN OLD TUBE-TV, THE VOLUME WILL NOT ABLE TO BE TURNED UP OR DOWN FROM STEERING WHEEL OR RADIO UNIT, THE BACK-UP CAMERA SCREEN CUTS OUT WHILE BACKING UP OR STAYS IN BACKUP MOVE WHILE DRIVING FORWARD, AND THE LIST GOES ON. THE INTERRUPTIONS ARE DANGEROUS AND DISTRACTING, TO SAY THE LEAST. HERE I AM ALMOST THREE YEARS INTO IT (THE PROBLEMS STARTED SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE) TWO DRAINED BATTERIES, TONS OF SERVICE VISITS, A NEW RADIO UNIT, AND COUNTLESS HOURS WASTED WITH NOTHING TO SHOW BUT CONTINUED INTERRUPTION IN THE FUNCTION OF MY CAR RADIO UNIT. I EVEN BEGAN CATCHING THE INTERRUPTIONS ON VIDEO ON MY PHONE AND PROVIDING THEM TO THE SERVICE MANAGER. THEY HAVE AMPLE EVIDENCE OF THE PROBLEMS REPORTED (ALTHOUGH THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE IT SO THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE).

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE KEY BECAME STUCK IN THE IGNITION. THE CONTACT HAD TO RESTART THE VEHICLE TO REMOVE THE IGNITION KEY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO IGNITION PROBLEMS HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED BY DEALERSHIP. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE PROBLEM STARTED SEVERAL MONTHS AGO, WHEN THE KEY COULD NOT BE REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION. OVER A PERIOD OF TWO WEEK, THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS REPLACED THREE TIMES AND THE SHIFTING CONSOLE WAS REPLACED ONCE. SINCE THE REPLACEMENT, WHEN THE KEY WAS INSERTED INTO THE IGNITION, NONE OF THE INSTRUMENT LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD, AND WHEN THE KEY WAS ROTATED TO THE START POSITION, NOTHING HAPPENED. *JB

THE RADIO FAILED IN OCT 2015. NO DISPLAY OR CONTROLS. REPORTED IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY ORDERED A NEW RADIO. IT TOOK 3 MONTHS. THEY INSTALLED THE NEW RADIO IN JAN 2016. ON 2/21/16, RADIO FAILED AGAIN. NO CONTROLS AND BLANK SCREEN. AM STATIONS APPEARED BUT IT STUCK ON AN FM STATION. I ONLY STARTED THE VEHICLE AND HADN'T MOVED YET. I DIDN'T RECEIVE A WORK ORDER FOR THE REPAIR, BUT DID ON THE INITIAL COMPLAINT.

I HAVE HAD MY CAR TO THE DEALER 4 TIMES FOR THE MIDDLE CONSOLE THAT CONTROLS THE HVAC, RADIO, CAMERA, ECT. THE RADIO WAS REPLACED ONCE. NOW, I HAVE A COMPLAINT WITH GM AND THEY TOLD THE DEALERSHIP, GIVE THE CAR BACK, THERE ISN'T ANYTHING WE CAN DO IF YOU CAN'T REPLICATE IT. THIS HAPPENS USUALLY WHEN I AM STARTING THE CAR, BUT HAPPENED WHILE I WAS ON THE PHONE DRIVING. THE CALL CAME BACK WHEN THE SYSTEM REBOOTED. THESE ISSUES BEGAN AROUND THE 18K MILES AND I AM AT 31K MILES NOW. IT HAPPENS NO LESS THAN TWICE BEFORE I TAKE IT INTO THE SHOP. I HAD IT IN THE SHOP ANOTHER TIME BECAUSE I PRESSED THE GAS PEDDLE AFTER A COMPLETE STOP AND DIDN'T GO ANYWHERE. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN, I WAS AT 3000RPMS. THIS ISSUE BEGAN AT THE 31K MILES AND ONLY OCCURRED ONCE. AGAIN, THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE IT, SO THERE WAS NOTHING TO FIX. THE CAR IS STILL UNDER ORIGINAL FACTORY WARRANTY.

I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT PREPARING TO TAKE A RIGHT TURN ON RED, WHICH IS LEGAL IN OKLAHOMA, AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, AND AS I HAD BEGUN THE TURN SLIGHTLY DEPRESSING THE GAS PEDAL, THE CAR DIED AND ALL LIGHTS AND POWER WAS LOST. I COASTED THE VEHICLE INTO THE PARKING LOT OF A GAS STATION THAT WAS ON THE CORNER NEAREST TO ME AND AFTER TWO TO THREE MINUTES THE CAR STARTED AGAIN AND EVERYTHING WAS WORKING AS NORMAL. MANY TIMES WHILE DRIVING, NIGHT OR DAY, THE FORWARD COLLISION ALERT WILL BEGIN BEEPING AND FLASHING AS IF YOU ARE ABOUT TO HAVE A FORWARD COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE, YET THERE IS NOTHING IN FRONT OF YOU LITERALLY FOR MILES AT SOME TIMES. THIS ALSO CAUSES THE BRAKES TO BE DEPRESSED AND THE CAR TO SLOW DOWN, EVEN ON THE HIGHWAY, WHEN THE FORWARD COLLISION ALERT SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS. ALSO, THE DISPLAY FOR THE RADIO AND VARIOUS OTHER FUNCTIONS OF THE VEHICLE HAS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS FROZE THE IMAGE ON THE SCREEN AND NOT ALLOWED ANY AIR, RADIO, OR ANY OTHER FUNCTIONS TO BE ABLE TO BE CHANGED, SOMETIMES FOR SEVERAL HOURS. ALSO THE REAR DOOR WILL SOMETIMES REMAIN LOCKED WHEN ALL OTHER DOORS ARE UNLOCKED WITH THE REMOTE CONTROL UNIT AND/OR THE BUTTONS IN THE VEHICLE. THERE IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING GOING ON WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IN THIS VEHICLE AND I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO TAKE IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP I AM PURCHASING THE VEHICLE FROM, ON THIS UPCOMING FRIDAY JULY 3RD, 2014.

THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED. ALL FOUR PASSENGER DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN AND THE OCCUPANTS WERE TRAPPED INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE OCCUPANTS ATTEMPTED TO OPEN THE DOORS BY RELEASING THE DOOR LOCKS (THE DOOR LOCK BUTTONS POPPED UP) AND BY USING THE DOOR HANDLES WITHOUT SUCCESS. THE OCCUPANTS WERE ABLE TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS AND TRIED THE EXTERNAL DOOR HANDLES WITHOUT SUCCESS. THE OCCUPANTS CONTACTED ONSTAR FOR ASSISTANCE. ONSTAR WAS UNABLE TO RELEASE THE DOOR LOCKS. ONSTAR INVOLVED EMERGENCY ONSTAR ASSISTANCE OVER THE TELEPHONE, WITHOUT SUCCESS. THE OCCUPANTS REMAINED TRAPPED INSIDE THE VEHICLE. ONSTAR INSTRUCTED THE DRIVER TO DRIVE TO THE NEAREST CHEVROLET DEALER FOR ASSISTANCE. WHILE ENROUTE TO THE DEALERSHIP, ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING 65-70 MPH, THE REAR, DRIVER-SIDE DOOR RELEASED AND OPENED, RESULTING IN THE LIGHTING OF THE DOME LIGHTS AND THE "DOOR AJAR" INDICATOR ON THE DASH. THERE WERE OCCUPANTS IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME, ON THE DRIVER-SIDE. ONCE ARRIVING AT THE DEALERSHIP, THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN PARK. THE FRONT-PASSENGER DOOR OPENED. THE REAR, DRIVER-SIDE DOOR OPENED. HOWEVER, THE FRONT, DRIVER-SIDE DOOR DID NOT OPEN AND REMAINED LATCH AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. FIRST ISSUE IS THE RADIO/CENTER CONSOLE SCREEN WILL REBOOT WHILE OFTEN. THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY AND WILL HAPPEN WHILE THE CAR IS DRIVING. I HAVE HAD IT HAPPEN AT LEAST 10 TIMES. IT HAPPENS TO HER ALL THE TIME SINCE SHE IS THE PRIMARY DRIVER. SHE HAS HAD THIS HAPPEN TO HER OVER 20 TIMES IN THE PAST 1.5 YRS. FORWARD COLLISION WARNING WILL GO OFF WITH NO VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HER AND THEN THE BRAKES WILL MOMENTARILY ENGAGE. I HAVE DROVE THE VEHICLE AND HAD THIS HAPPEN TWICE. I HAVE BEEN IN THE VEHICLE AS A PASSENGER ON (3) OCCASSIONS WHEN THIS HAPPENED. WE HAVE HAD THIS SUV FOR 18MONTHS AND SHE HAS TAKEN IT TO (2) DEALERSHIPS. BOTH STATED THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS CAUSING THIS AND TOLD US TO DE-ACTIVATE THE SYSTEM. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THREE DIFFERENT DEALERS AND I AM TOLD THE SOMETHING "THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR AND BRING IT IN WHEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN AND THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT SUPPOSE TO STOP", THAT IS WHY I BROUGHT IT IN. THEN THERE IS THE TIRE PRESSURE GAUGE THAT THING WILL TELL SAY THE TIRES ARE ONE PRESSURE WHEN THEY ARE NOT I HAVE USED A TIRE GAUGE ELECTRIC AND MANUAL, THEY READ FINE BUT THE VEHICLE WILL COME UP WITH THE TIRES BEING OFF WHERE HALF THE VEHICLE IS HIGHER THAN THE OTHER OR ALL FOUR ARE OFF NEVERTHELESS ALL HAVE BEEN CHECKED AND VERIFIED BY A GAUGE. *TR

IF A USB DEVICE IS PLUGGED INTO THE RECEPTACLE IN THE CENTER CONSOLE AT TIMES THE RADIO AND CONSOLE STOP WORKING. THIS AFFECTS THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE BY DISABLING THE DEFROSTER CONTROL ALLOWING THE WINDOWS TO ICE UP (ESPECIALLY IN MICHIGAN). I HAVE ASKED THE DEALER AS TO WHY IT HAPPENS AND THEY HAD NO ANSWER. THE SYSTEM HAS ALWAYS REBOOTED FINE AFTER SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF FOR 5-10 MINUTES. AGAIN THIS HAS ONLY HAPPENED WHEN A USB DEVICE IS PLUGGED IN. IT IS MY ASSUMPTION THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE BOOTING OF THE CENTER CONSOLE THEREFORE NOT ALLOWING THE DEVICES TO WORK. THIS IS AN OLD CHEVROLET EQUINOX RECALL THAT IS FROM THE 2010 MODEL AND IS HAPPENING TO MY 2013 AS WELL. THE RADIO CONTROLS AND A/C-DEFROST CONTROL'S ARE NOT WORKING AT ALL. "FAILING TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 103, "WINDSHIELD DEFROSTING AND DEFOGGING SYSTEMS AND WITH FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 101, CONTROLS AND DISPLAYS" CHEVROLET IS TELLING ME THEY WILL NOT FIX IT BECAUSE THERE IS NO RECALL. DRIVING ON 5 LANE HIGHWAY AT 60MPH CAR SHUT OFF FOR NO REASON AND WENT DEAD. CARS AND TRUCKS ON BOTH SIDE OF ME AND HAD TO TRY. AND GET ON LEFT SHOULDER WHICH I DID WITHOUT GETTING HIT. I TURNED OFF IGNITION AND TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR AND IT RESTARTED OK AND I CONTINUED ON . THIS SAME PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED TWICE SINCE I PURCHASED VEHICLE. RETURNED TO DEALER BOTH TIMES AND THEY CHECKED IT AND SAID NOTHING WRONG. THE LIGHTS IN THE INTERIOR OF MY CAR GO OUT INTERMITTENTLY. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY GOING 70MPH AND WITHOUT WARNING THE CAR JUST DIED ON ME, I HAD TO HAVE SOMEONE PUSH ME OFF THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD NOT START. I WAITED ABOUT 10 MINS AND IT STARTED UP AGAIN. THE COLLISION SENOR GOES OFF WHEN THERE IS NOTHING AROUND THE CAR AND BOGGS DOWN THE CAR WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO 2 DIFFERENT SHOPS AND THEY CAN NOT GET THE PROBLEM TO DUPLICATE. THEY HAVE HAD MY CAR SINCE BEFORE THANKSGIVING AND GAVE IT BACK TO ME THE WEEK OF CHRISTIMAS. I DROVE IT AND HAD NO PROBLEMS UNTIL THAT FRIDAY ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK CROSSING OVER A BUSY INTERSECTION THE COLLISION ALERT STARTED RINGING AND THE SENOR IS OFF AND THE CAR DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED RIGHT AWAY AND GET OUT OF THE INTERSECTION. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE SHOP AND THEY STILL CAN'T GET THE PROBLEM RESOLVED. I SAY THE GM OBVIOUSLY HAS ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THEIR CARS, BECAUSE READING OTHERS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUES. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE! *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE COLLISION SENSOR ACTIVATED INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT ANY OTHER VEHICLE WITHIN CLOSE PROXIMITY. THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED TO DECELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE TECHNICIAN REDUCED THE SENSITIVITY OF THE COLLISION SENSOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1831.

CONSUMER STATED WHEN SHE PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR HER CAR REVERSED WHILE IT WAS STILL IN DRIVE. *LN THE CONSUMER STATED SHE IMMEDIATELY APPLIED THE BRAKE, ONCE THE VEHICLE WENT INTO REVERSE. THE CONSUMER STATED IT FELT AS THOUGH,THE VEHICLE WAS IN NEUTRAL ON A HILL. SHE MANAGED TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, THEN IN DRIVE AGAIN, AND ONCE SHE PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR, THE VEHICLE WENT FORWARD, WITHOUT INCIDENT. ALSO, WITHIN THE LAST SIX MONTHS, THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED ELECTRICAL/COMPUTER RELATED PROBLEMS.

AFTER DRIVING THE 2013 EQUINOX OFF THE DEALER LOT WITH 5 MILES ON THE SPEEDOMETER, THE RADIO SCREEN BEGAN TO SCRAMBLE. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE BACKUP SCREEN DID NOT WORK, AND GOES BLANK, THE RADIO SCREEN BEGINS TO FLICKER, SCRAMBLES, AND BLANKS OUT. CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THAT FRIDAY THE DEALER CHECKED IT AND ORDERED THE PART. ON APRIL 19, AT THE DEALER WE WERE TOLD THEY ORDERED THE WRONG PART, NO EXPLANATION NO COMMUNICATION. ON MAY 10 RETURNED TO DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE RADIO SCREEN. ON THE WAY HOME THE RADIO SCREEN FLICKERED. THE FOLLOWING DAY THE BACKUP CAMERA DID NOT WORK. CONTACTED THE GENERAL MANAGER ON MAY 11 AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD GET BACK WITH US THE FOLLOWING MONDAY. WE CALLED MAY 16TH AND THE GM GAVE A LAME EXCUSE, ON MAY 17 WE ARE RETURNING TO THE DEALER TO GET THE PROBLEM RESOLVED. WE LIVE 70 MILES FROM THE DEALER. WHILE SITTING STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT YESTERDAY, MY BRAND NEW EQUINOX JUST TURNED OFF. A CO-WORKER WITH THE SAME CAR (DIFFERENT MODEL YEAR) MENTIONED THIS HAPPENED TO HER TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO IT HAPPENING TO ME. WHEN I WENT ONLINE TO RESEARCH THE ISSUE, I WAS ALARMED AFTER LOCATING MULTIPLE FORUMS WHERE EQUINOX OWNERS WERE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND LOOKING FOR ANSWERS. THE CAR HAS BEEN SHUTTING OFF WITHOUT ANY WARNING, INCLUDING WHILE PEOPLE ARE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS OBVIOUSLY IS NOT AN ISOLATED ISSUE AS IT IS HAPPENING TO PEOPLE WITH VARIOUS MODEL YEARS, AND IT COULD POSE A SERIOUS PROBLEM ON THE HIGHWAY. *TR
