My vehicle has been cranking when trying to turn on. Sometimes when it does turn on, it will engage the anti theft system. It will also turn on my 4-ways, and windshield wipers other times without me triggering these buttons. Sometimes it will say that I don’t have power steering. Other times, my AC will not work. It puts me and my family at risk because if the system is continuously having issues, I worry that something bad will happen while we are driving! I saw that there are other similar complaints online for the 2015 Chevy equinox. I have no dashboard lights on, other than tire pressure light (which my tire pressure is fine, but the sensor for this has malfunctioned as well). This has been an ongoing and worsening issue since January 2024. I purchased the vehicle with no issues in December 2023.
The incident except for by my 2015 Chevrolet Equinox has major electrical faulty ends in and timing belt changes which causes the vehicle to stall on a consumer at any time for me I was driving on a major highway or five Lanes going to work and the car decided to slow down and started shedding off thank God that I made it to the far right side on a media strip and was able get the car to safety on the knee issue but she did slow down and shut off identity media call the triple A for help and roadside assistance they came as soon as they could and then test the car to see if it was the battery or the alternator which I had put in two brand new batteries and two brand new alternators and still have both he test them all and said no he's been pulling cars off major highways that are Equinox and terrain class action lawsuit against General motors in Chevrolet due to faulty issues in the engine and they recently One cases from 2010 to 2014 although my car is a 2015 the same issue still arise my car has 85,000 miles on it when this happens and I kept up the oil change and the maintenance on the car I then in turn had the car towed to a Chevrolet dealer and turned it a diagnostic test on my car vehicle and this is what they said in my car has the same issue that is from the previous lawsuit of Equinox 2010 to 2014. Have the results are as is fun the Chevrolet GMC dealer the vehicle will not start, the problem and issues extend from the timing belt chain, valves, blown gasket, fuel pump,this is causing many major issues along with all the recalls with the 2010 and 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and Terrain. The only thing that they recommend is that the car engine needs to replacement to make consumers feel safe in their vehicles. Although my car is a 2015 I only have 85,000 miles and I continue to do all the maintenance and I was told by another mechanic that it does not have nothing to do so much as the oil change they knew that there were faulty issues with timingbelt

EXCESSIVE Oil Consumption after 87,000 miles. Always had regular/up-to-date oil changes and took care of the vehicle. Had an oil change in June 2023 and in August (not may miles driven in that time frame), while driving I noticed the vehicle started to jerk...after arriving at work I checked under the hood and noticed there was NO OIL on the stick. I also added some antifreeze since I was there and it needed just a little. Purchased oil and filled it up. Two weeks later...again, no OIL on the stick. Less than 200 miles driven during this time. Now checking my oil every 3 days. October 2023, check engine light came on--took it to get checked and was told I was out of antifreeze. This was the only issue they could locate...no blown gaskets, etc. The AutoZone put antifreeze in to the level it should be and the next day I was almost empty again. This was well under 90 miles driven. There are NO WARNINGS, EXPENSIVE TO KEEP BUYING OIL AND ANTIFREEZE--RISK OF ENGINE BLOWING, BREAKING DOWN-GOD FORBID I HAVE MY CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME. Two years ago the wipers went...heavy storm and they just all of a sudden stopped. Couldnt even see to pull over. Had my three kids with me and had to put the window down to try to see how I could pull over. I didnt know until a while later there was a recall. Numerous electrical issues....radio stops working when it wants too. Backup camera sometimes stays on while driving down the road, the driver side rear door won't unlock all the time.
My car runs hot (even with all of my fluids). If I drive "too far" (25-30 mins) driving over 55mph while it's hot outside, my check engine light comes on, all the gauges in my car start going back and forth. A couple different alarms will go off (Service All Wheel Drive System, Service StabiliTrak, Service Park Assist) . My engine revs and my car will start jerking. Sometimes my car won't even start back up right away. My car jerks going up hills. For close to two years my radio and back up camera stopped working, and out of nowhere it started working fine. My tires often lose air. My windshield wiper motor has gone out twice.
The HVAC actuator broke off preventing air flow from defrosting the windshield while I was driving through a snow storm. Because this piece failed my windshield was fogged over and I continually having to reach up to the windshield wiping fog off in order to see. In the conditions it was dangerous for myself and other drivers that I was unable to see clearly. The mechanic at Division Auto Clinic says he replaces these actuators all the time on GM vehicles. The vehicle was repaired (see invoice) costing me $300 to fix. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the problem.
Clock often has the wrong time and has to be reset but does not keep the accurate time after resetting. I found a TSB PIC6096B regarding this concern but not sure if any fix is available
My car had no advance warning as was supposed to for low oil levels. I was driving highway speed during rush hour when I hear a loud bang my car jolts to a stop and I’m left stranded. The car was only 5 years old and 100,000 miles. The bang was the engine that blew due to a major oil consumption or leak issue with the 2.4 and the transmission also burnt and needed replaced as well. I bought used and did not even make the first payment.
Wipers stopped while using them, replaced bushing multiple times won't hold. My link radio has stoped coming on and there is no back up camera or sound not even if I have blinkers on
Driving my SUV it shut off and would not start. When I was at a red light my car would totally shut off. I finally got it started when I returned home at shut off again I had to call a tow company to take it to Winter Haven Chevrolet Center. They stated it was intake cam solenoid replaces valve 0.736 also the mechanic stated they had to perform induction system cleaning service.It's very dangerous driving my vehicle then the vehicle just shuts off and die almost caused an accident. I need to know if there is a recall I had to spend $828.51. I would appreciate if somebody would get back with me on this.
The contact's mother-in-law owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would shut-off with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle would restart soon after the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer had been notified of the failure. WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THE PROBLEM WITH THIS EQUINOX. SEEMS LIKE EVERYTIME YOU FIX ONE THING SOMETHING ELSE GO WRONG. THE RADION HAS COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. THE HEATER RESISTOR WENT BAD REPLACED IT NOW THE BLOWER MOTOR IS BAD. THIS CAR IS A LLEMON FROM THE FRONT BUMPER TO THE REAR BUMPER.. PIECE OF JUNK. EVERYTHING HAPPENS RIGHT AFTER ONE THING OR THE OTHER IS REPAIRED....

I'LL BE DRIVING BY MYSELF AND SEATBELT ALARM GOES OFF. ONE EVENING MY WHILE PARKED IN THE PARKING SPOT THE LIGHTS KEPT TURNING OFF AND ON I THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD BROKEN INTO MY CAR AND WAS PLAYING WITH THE LIGHTS. THE CAR IS A 2015 WITH ONLY 58K MILES.

WIPERS STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN ON THE EVENING OF THE 26TH OF OCTOBER 2018. FUSES HAVE BEEN CHECKED AND THOUGH GOOD REPLACED. THERE IS A HUM WHEN YOU TURN THE WIPERS ON. THIS ONLY APPLIES TO THE FRONT WIPERS, THE REAR WORKS FINE. DANGEROUS AS IT WAS ALMOST DARK AND I HAD TO DRIVE HOME SLOWLY AND OUT THE CAR IN THE GARAGE. GM HAS BEEN UNABLE TO IDENTIFY THE ROOT CAUSE OF THEIR BATTERY ISSUES. IT APPEARS THAT SOMETHING IS CAUSING A DRAW ON THE SYSTEM AND GM HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE ISSUE.

ONLINE RESEARCH HAS INDICATED THAT GM IS AWARE OF MULTIPLE BATTERY ISSUES WITH THE 2015 EQUINOX AS WELL AS OTHER MODEL YEARS, BUT HAS YET TO IDENTIFY THE SOURCE OF THE ISSUES.

THE SERVICE LIGHT FOR BOTH OF THESE KEEPS COMING ON AND BOTH KEEP GOING OUT WHILE I DRIVE WHICH IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. ALSO MY ELECTRONIC PANEL KEEPS GOING OUT. I KNOW THESE MUST BE A MANUFACTORY DEFECT BUT I'M GETTING NO WHERE WITH THEM. PLEASE HELP!

"TAKATA RECALL . I WAS ON MY PHONE USING THE BLUETOOTH. THEN I RECEIVED ANOTHER CALL AND TOOK CALL. MY OTHER PARTY HUNG UP THE LINE AND ONCE I WAS DONE WITH THE CALL I HUNG UP BUT ON THE DISPLAY IT SHOWED AS IF I WAS STILL ON MY PHONE. CUT MY CAR OFF STILL NOTHING HAPPENED. I WENT SO FAR AS RESTING MY RADIO AND PHONE FEATURES.... STILL NOTHING. SO WHEN I HOME THE LIGHT AND DISPLAY STAYED ON AND WHEN WOKE UP THE NEXT MORNING BATTERY DEAD ....MIND YOU THIS IS A 2015 NOT EVEN 3 OR 4 MONTHS SINCE I BOUGHT IT. TOOK THE CAR IN AFTER I HAD TO GET A JUMP START. THE DEALERSHIP KEPT MY CAR FOR A FEW DAYS TO TELL ME NOTHING IS WRONG. BUT AS I DID SOME RESEARCH I SEE OTHER CHEVY EQUINOX OWNER'S ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. WHAT IS GOING TO BE DONE??
FALSE ALARMS HAVE OCCURRED 5 TIMES FROM THE FORWARD CRASH ALERT SYSTEM. THE DISPLAY FLASHES AND SOUND SEVERAL HIGH-PITCHED BEEPS. ALSO ONE CAN FEEL SLIGHT BRAKING AND WHEN USING CRUSE CONTROL IT DISENGAGES. HAS OCCURRED AT 70 MPG ON HIGHWAY (TWICE) AND AT 35 ON CITY STREET (3 TIMES) WHILE NO VEHICLES WERE IN RANGE TO SHOW A GREEN OR RED VEHICLE ON DASH.

ENGINE LOST POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING 60 MPH DOWN TO 20 MPH,COULD NOT ACCELERATE, FUSES WENT OFF, ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP, YESTERDAY 01/25/2016 FROM A REGULAR OIL CHANGE MAINTAINCE ANOTHER MECHANIC SAID AXLE IS LEAKING AS WELL AS THE PAN LEAKING THEY NEED TO REPLACE SEALS. WEEK ONE BATTERY DIED, TWICE SAME WEEK, EVEN WIPERS CAME OFF.

VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW FROM DEALERSHIP YESTERDAY. IT HAD 68 MILES ON ODOMETER. DROVE TO ANOTHER DESTINATION APPROXIMATELY 15 MILES AWAY, PARKED THE VEHICLE, TURNED OFF THE IGNITION, GOT OUT AND RETURNED 5 MINUTES LATER THEN STARTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE AWAY THEN NOTICED THE ELECTRONIC SPEEDOMETER WAS NO LONGER WORKING. THIS VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 90 MILES ON IT AND NEED TO RETURN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. VERY UPSET AND WORRIED ABOUT THIS VEHICLE, IS AN INDICATOR OF THE BUILD QUALITY- GM, PLEASE REPLACE THIS VEHICLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT AN INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. ON TWO (2) SEPARATE OCCASIONS MY VEHICLE HAS STOPPED DEAD IN THE ROADWAY WHILE DRIVING. I LOST ALL POWER STEERING, LIGHTS, RADIO ETC. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE BOTH TIMES. THIS COULD BE DEADLY IF I AM ON A BUSY ROAD OR FREEWAY. I AM TERRIFIED FOR MY SAFETY, BUT ALSO FOR MY TWO YEAR OLD GRANDSON, FAMILY, FRIENDS AND ANYONE ELSE WHO COULD BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN. MY VEHICLE WAS LEASED JANUARY 19, 2015. I AM WAY UNDER ON MY MILES (2600) AND HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED BY ME WITH ZERO DAMAGE ANYWHERE. MY VEHICLE WAS IN THE DEALERSHIP FROM JUNE 29, 2015 THE FIRST TIME THE ENGINE STOPPED WHILE DRIVING. THEY KEPT THE VEHICLE FRO 3 DAYS. AT THAT TIME I WAS ADVISED BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT MINE WAS THE THIRD VEHICLE IN THE LAST WEEK WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ON JULY 6TH AFTER THE SECOND TIME IT STOPPED DEAD IN THE ROADWAY. I WAS CALLED ON AUGUST 12, 2015 THAT THE VEHICLE WAS READY FOR PICK UP AND THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN UNABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM. THE SERVICE DEPT. STATES THEY HAVE DRIVEN THE VEHICLE FOR A MERE 58 MILES OVER THE LAST SEVERAL WEEKS. THE SERVICE MANAGER SUGGESTS I BUY OUT MY LEASE AND JUST SELL IT TO SOMEONE ELSE. OF COURSE THIS IS NOT AN OPTION FOR ME.

DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35-40 MPH WITH NO VEHICLES IN SIGHT, NO OBSTACLES, ON A CLEAR DAY, THE FRONT COLLISION ALERT TURNED ON AND THE VEHICLE BRAKES WERE STRONGLY APPLIED. IT WAS EXTREMELY ROUGH AND FRIGHTENING FOR MY DAUGHTER AND I. THERE WAS NO EXPLANATION FOR IT. SINCE THEN, IT HAS HAPPENED SPORADICALLY, AT LEAST 5 MORE TIMES AT ANY GIVEN SPEED AND SAME CONDITIONS AS ABOVE. I HAVE SINCE TURNED OFF THE FEATURE (FORTUNATELY AN OPTION). IF SOMEONE HAD BEEN DRIVING BEHIND ME ANY OF THESE TIMES, THERE COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN A REAR END COLLISION. I'VE TAKEN IT IN TO BE CHECKED OUT TO NO AVAIL. THERE ARE NO CODES, THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE IT, SO "THERE'S NO ISSUE" ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE WITH 3768 MILES, SO I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY TIMES IT MAY HAVE OCCURRED BEFORE THEN AND I AM AT 4984. THESE INCIDENTS HAVE ALL OCCURRED IN A 1 MONTH SPAN.
