I just purchased the vehicle she hadn't even driven it 2 months when it started to shut off on it's on. Causing very dangerous situations. Then the oil consumption problem that's been well known and heavily documented time after time. Without warning lights or low oil pressure light or even a check engine light to give any type of warning the front seal blew out causing heavy oil loose that caused the engine bay and over the bottom of the vehicle drenching areas that have really high temperatures that could have caused the oil to possibly ignite at any time from the high heated areas that was covered in oil. Also with front seal blown out without warning led to timming chain becoming faulty and then breaking leading to my valves impacting with pistons because this is a interference engine. The impact caused every valve to bend which led to no compression and without compression no engine will start without compression. All this consumption issue is due to piston rings that are under sized which allows blow by leading to consumption. After all that the price of everything to be fixed at home by myself cost almost $1000 and many man hours not including all the time I have a vehicle that's new to me that I haven't been able to drive but just a few months after purchasing. Checker knows these problems exists and how dangerous these problems can be. You would think a car manufacturer as big as Chevrolet and GMC would do something to help there customers rather than not even showing any kind of care really in the world. I thought these companies stand by there products.

Ending result timing chain : Beginning of result: 1. My vehicle experienced a sudden and complete loss of power steering while driving at highway speeds. The loss of power steering significantly compromised the driver's ability to maneuver the vehicle safely, especially during emergency situations, putting both the driver and other road users at risk of an accident. 2. Traveling at high way speeds my car suddenly lost complete power to go. Keep going up and down in speed in middle of interstate 3. No warning signs prior no check engine line appeared until after the safety risk above.

Rear Main Seal has blown out due to the PCV Valve intake issue. GM is not taking any ownership in the known issue which is service bulletin 14882 that appears to have been issued in 2019. No coverage for repair no recall but a class action lawsuit for all these consumers affected.

excessive Oil Consumption problem- which we were not aware of and it caused our vehicle to shut down in the middle of the street blocking traffic- making it a huge safety issue & should be a recall. Due to the excessive oil consumption that caused our timing chain to break. This is an issue that chevy knew was happening to this year & other years around the same time, but never informed us - now it needs a new engine & they won't replace it. It only has 88,000 miles, we had recently changed the oil & oil filter so this was unexpected.

My 2015 Chevy Equinox is burning oil at an alarming rate. I just found out I have been driving this car with NO oil. I had no indicator lights come on warning me of any danger. I have only 68000 miles on this car and they are telling me I need a new engine. I still owe $15,000 on this car that I have only had for 8 months...and they want me to pay $9000.00 for a new engine on a defect that GM knows about. My [XXX] drives this car (well I won't let him now) but what if the engine blew while he was driving? This is a VERY DANGEROUS defect and people can get seriously hurt. Timing chain broke at 150,000 miles. I have only had the car for a year and a half. This is a known issue for the 2015 Equinox and the warranty company doesn't want to cover it, even though I have a 2 year 24,000 warranty on it. I have only driven 19,000 miles so I'm clearly within the window.

The transfer case blew out. (2) in seven months. Every mechanic that has looked at it says that the bearings sheered and caused metal fragments into the gears causing the transfer case to fail. There was no warning when this happened, no dash lights, just severe grinding and I parked the car. The mechanic pulled it into the bay to further investigate and that is when it blew out and all of the fluid poured out. In July, the same thing happened. Had it replaced and 7 months later it happened again. I had only driven the car 15k miles in 7 months when the transfer case blew out again. After reading forums there are many people that have been effected by the transfer case blowing out.

My car received an oil changed recently and then shortly after my engine went completely out due to having no oil. My timing chain stretched out and broke resulting in no compression to my engine. The light didn’t even come on to indicate that there was an issue until after the car completely broke down.

I was driving down interstate and engine failed due to manufacturer malfunction Excessive Oil consumption Defect. I safely pulled off interstate to avoid injury to myself or others due to engine malfunction. There were not any pre warning lamps only post warning lamps.GM dealer determined catastrophic engine failure #2 cylinder misfire. Engine needs replaced.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that on three occasions while driving at various speeds, she observed a loud clunking sound coming from the front of the vehicle. Additionally, the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.

My car has been parked due to problems starting. I have had mechanics look at it and it is a timing chain issue or engine replacement issue. Oil has been a consistent problem with my car even though I routinely get oil changes and there are no leaks beneath the car. I have to keep oil and a funnel in my car to add as necessary. The console never indicates low oil.

Vehicle is stalling when stopping and starting to go. Service engine light came on had it it scanned, found it to be the camshaft position sensor. Called my local dealer as to find out if there is any recall on this, and they said that there is not. I believe there should be a recall on this part as is it is a safety issue, as stated the vehicle was stalling and you lose all power. When starting to pull out in traffic you will be left with no power as the engine stalls and you have to put the vehicle in neutral and restart it.

Low oil pressure light came on, all the oil had leaked out and the warning advised to turn engine off immediately. Issue is I could have gotten into an accident, as the vehicle could have locked up and shut off, why is this not recalled it is dangerous.

my 2015 Chevrolet equinox 2.4l ecotec AWD vehicle with 102k miles had a massive oil leak in jan.2022, when it was -22 deg. f outside. The car was at work outside, and my drive home was about 7 miles. When I got home, I decided to check the oil on the dipstick and it was empty. The whole underside of the chasis was oil splattered. I added 3 quarts of oil and started the car up and oil was poring out of the rear main seal. I trailered it to a chevrolet dealer, and they said the pvc frozen up. The engine and subframe will need to come out.This was an expensive repair. This vehicle does burn oil. It does not leak oil thou. The engine oil light never came on during the ride home. I am glad I checked the oil, because the engine would have quit running on the freeway somewhere.

The 2015 Equinox has transmission problems. While driving the transmission will stop working and you have to turn off the motor and wait a few minutes and restart the motor for the transmission to shift into Park reverse and drive again. It happened on a road with no shoulder and traffic behind me I had to shut off the motor put it in park and wait a minute and then restart the motor for the vehicle to be able to move again!

Car stalling when taking off from a stop causing dangerous situations. I had a 2013 of the exact model and it did the same thing. GM has an issue with the intake sensors that needs to be addressed.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH, the contact heard rattling sounds coming from underneath the vehicle. The contact pulled over but saw no issues with the vehicle. Once the contact started driving, she immediately noticed smoke coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact pulled over on the side of the road and the vehicle started overheating. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnostic testing, and the contact was informed that the transfer case needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was not under warranty. No assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 151,000.

I did notice from day one, that the car was lower on the front left side, and the car started to hesitate when engaged in the drive. NO WARNING LIGHTS!! 6.

My car had no advance warning as was supposed to for low oil levels. I was driving highway speed during rush hour when I hear a loud bang my car jolts to a stop and I’m left stranded. The car was only 5 years old and 100,000 miles. The bang was the engine that blew due to a major oil consumption or leak issue with the 2.4 and the transmission also burnt and needed replaced as well. I bought used and did not even make the first payment.

GM- Has Issued Recall on 2010-2013 Equniox's Or extended the warranty on the powertrain for those years. Unfortunately, from 2014-to 2017 same engine wasn't included in this extended 150,000 warranty. Know issues of rear main seal blowing out causing all of the oil to leak for the engine while driving not one warning light came on! This blew up the engine with my wife and daughter in the car! They could have DIED!!!!!! What's wrong with GM knowing that this can happen! Mine has 73,000 miles on it and they will not repair it! They have to do better before someone gets killed!

I have a 2015 Chevy Equinox LT, I had my car repair engine light came on all lights on dash lite service warning for ABS, Traction control, StabiliTrak and steering wheel, and when I would stop the car would stall. I took to Chevy dealership and had serviced. The intake valve was replaced covered under warranty, and the ECM (engine control module) replaced. Car seemed fine after 1 1/2 years service StabiliTrak came on and off , I had issues with low fuel mileage, only check engine light came on once and then right off again after I had the spark plugs replaced the outtake valve replaced no check engine light , regular oil changes. One day the Service StabiliTrak light came on and did not come off. This has been going on for 6 months I was driving and my car started jumping when I came to a stop, no lights came on. I continued to drive and when I parked my car sounded like a mac truck and was shaking and had the smell of burning oil or gas. I parked a 2 hours later I started it the same sound and smell along with the check engine light I looked under my car and there was oil dripping, I stopped and add oil and was able to drive home slowly. I parked over night I started it and drove around the block I turned off and then waited a minute turned back on opened the hood and the engine was shaking loud and reduced engine power message came up. I am at a loss I do not have money to fix this it is a 2015 no warranties are even covered over this issue if they are able to figure out what this is. I looked all over the internet and so many people have this problem I don't understand why it is not recalled or there is no class action against GM for this

Issue with oil consumption on this vehicle. Needs 2 quarts of new oil every 2-3 weeks with moderate driving. Mechanics say this is a known issue with Chevrolet Equinox’s since 2011. The only true fix is to replace the engine and even then the problem can reoccur with new engines. I have joined a Facebook page called “Terrain-Equinox Oil Consumption Recall” with thousands of members experiencing same issue. There is no assistance from dealerships to assist in covering repair costs. There was a limited recall for model year 2013 but same issues are present in 2014’s and 2015’s as well. There are also many complaints about on this issue on this bursa website. Looking for any assistance.

MY VEHICLE HAD A OIL CHANGE AT 86,000 MILES. I HIT 90,722 MILES . THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING FINE AND WHEN I GOT OFF WORK AND TRIED TO START THE CAR IT STARTED BUT THEN SHUT OFF. I HAD NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS, NO LOW OIL LIGHT AND HAD A PERFECT DIAGNOSTICS REPORT ON MY ONSTAR, I HAD TO GET THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A DEALER PER ON STAR, AFTER SPEAKING TO THE DEALER I WAS INFORMED THE MOTOR BLEW UP BECAUSE IT JUMPED TIME AND DUMPED OIL. I WAS ALSO TOLD THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MOTOR BUT GM IS REFUSING TO FIX IT BECAUSE THE WARRANTY JUST WENT UP 6 MONTHS AGO . I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY SEVERAL SHOPS CHEVY KNOWS ABOUT THIS TIME CHAIN OR JUMPING TIME ISSUE AND IN MOST CASES A NEW MOTOR IS REQUIRED. I WOULD LIKE TO UNDERSTAND WHY NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND HOW OIL COULD DUMP AFTER HAVING A OIL CHANGE 3,000 MILES GIVE OR TAKE ? AND WHY CHEVY IS PASSING THE PROBLEM ONTO THE CUSTOMER.

MY VEHICLE HAS CONSUMED MORE OIL THEN I CAN EVEN PHANTOM, TRADITIONALLY OIL IS SUPPOSED TO LAST 3K MILES AND WHEN YOU REGULARLY CHANGE IT YOU SHOULDN'T NOTICE MUCH CONSUMPTION IF ANY AT ALL, THIS VEHICLE NOT ONLY CONSUMES ON AVERAGE A QUART OF OIL EVERY 500 - 1K MILES BUT I AM ALSO NEVER ALERTED THAT MY OIL IS LOW. THIS IS DANGEROUS AS TYPICALLY WITH SYNTHETIC OILS COMING ALONG AND THE NEW RECOMMENDATION BEING 7500K MILES BEFORE OIL CHANGE I WOULD BE COMPLETELY DRIED UP IF I DID NOT CHECK MY DIP STICK REGULARLY. I ACTIVELY SEE SMOKE COMING FROM THE TAIL PIPE WHEN LEAVING A RED LIGHT AND CAN SMELL THE BURN WHEN EXITING THE VEHICLE, WHICH CAN'T BE GOOD FOR THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. MY CAR WILL HAVE ROUGH/SURGING IDLE AT RED LIGHTS, HAS EVEN SHUT OFF AT ONE POINT COMPLETELY EVEN. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE O2 SENSORS AND I CONTINUE TO ADD 1-2 QUARTS OF OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES TO KEEP UP WITH THE EXCESSIVE CONSUMPTION. THERE WAS A LAWSUIT CLAIMING THIS PROBLEM ONLY EFFECTED 2010-2013 EQUINOX HOWEVER I KNOW NUMEROUS EQUINOX OWNERS WITH MODELS NEWER LIKE MYSELF WITH THESE SAME ISSUES. GM SHOULD EXPAND ENDING WITH MODEL YEAR 2017 AND STOP HIDING BEHIND THE BUSH.

I WAS OUT RUNNING ERRANDS AND I NOTICED THE ENGINE WAS IDLING ROUGH AND IT EVEN STALLED TWICE WHILE I WAS AT STOP LIGHTS. NO INDICATION OF ANYTHING WRONG BASED ON THE LIGHTS (NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, OIL LIGHT, ETC WAS LIT) BUT AFTER I GOT HOME I NOTICED AN OIL LEAK UNDERNEATH THE ENGINE ON MY DRIVEWAY. GOT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND THEY RECOMMENDED A NEW ENGINE DUE TO THE PCV VALVE FREEZING (I LIVE IN NORTHERN US AND IT'S WINTER) WHICH CAUSED THE REAR MAIN OIL SEAL TO FAIL AND A MASSIVE OIL LEAK. BECAUSE OF THAT, I WAS LIKELY DRIVING WITH LOW OIL PRESSURE, SOMETHING THAT THE CAR SHOULD HAVE HAD A SYSTEM TO TELL ME BUT DIDN'T. AND I'VE ONLY GOT 89,000 MILES ON IT! ENGINES SHOULDN'T BE FAILING THAT QUICKLY.

SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHINGS GOING TO BRAKE. OTHER PROBLEM IS THUMPING NOISE FROM SOMETHING IN FUEL TANK STARTS SLOW THEN SEEDS UP .MECHANIC SAID SOUNDS LIKE FUEL PUMP MODULE HE COULDN'T REPEAT THE PROBLEM. I ONLY HEAR IT WHEN I'M STOPPED WITH CAR RUNNING AND OFF THIS COULD MAKE NOISE WHEN DRIVING BUT THE NORMAL SOUNDS OF RADIO,TALKING WOULD DROWN IT OUT . I'M AFRAID IF IT'S THE FUEL PUMP ,IT CAN SHUT OFF WHILE I'M DRIVING I CAN HAVE AN ACCIDENT!

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS I WILL NEVER BUY A GM VEHICLE AGAIN BECAUSE YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICES IS REPULSIVE. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES FOR A COUPLE WEEKS WITH ROUGH IDLE AND MY RPMS REVING WHEN I LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL. ON 12/26/20, MY VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING IT. UPON RESTARTING IT, IT WAS MAKING A LOUD NOISE, BUT NO DASH LIGHTS WERE ON. I HAD IT TOWED TO A SHOP TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON. THE SHOP INFORMED ME THAT IT HAD LOST ALL OF THE OIL DUE TO A BUSTED MAIN SEAL. HE TOLD ME THAT HE HAD A BULLETIN THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM IN MY VEHICLE. THE SEAL IS BUSTED BECAUSE THE DESIGN OF MY CAR ALLOWS MOISTURE INTO THE MANIFOLD WHICH THEN FREEZES AND BUSTS THE SEAL. IT IS COSTING ME $1500 TO FIX THE SEAL AND CLEAN THE MOISTURE FROM FROM THE MANIFOLD. I AM TOLD THAT THERE IS NO WAY TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN. I AM VERY SCARED THAT I WILL BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. I HAVE TALK TO CHEVY, BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN RESOLVED.

ON OCTOBER 16, 2020 I WAS PARKED AT WALMART GETTIN READY TO TURN ON MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND DRIVE MY DAUGHTER AND I HOME UNTIL WHEN I TURNED ON MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS THEY WOULDN'T WORK. SO I THEN WENT BACK INSIDE FOR SOME RAIN-X (WHICH DIDN'T HELP MUCH CUZ IT WAS RAINING AND RAIN-X IS SUPPOSED TO BE APPLIED TO A DRY WINDSHIELD) JUST SO I COULD GET US AND OUR GROCERIES HOME. THANK THE LORD WE MADE IT HOME SAFE, GROCERIES IN TACT!!! FOR THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS....I CHANGE MY FLUIDS ON A REGULAR BASIS YET EVERY WEEK FOR THE PAST BOUT 8 MONTHS NOW AS I SLOW DOWN GOING UPHILL TO PULL INTO MY FATHER IN LAW'S DRIVEWAY THE TRANSMISSION JERKS. THERE'S 89,234 MILES ON MY 2015 CHEVY EQUINOX, I'VE BEEN DRIVING IT SINCE IT HAD A LITTLE OVER 66,000 MILES ON IT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TUCKER CHEVROLET LOCATED AT (1340 US-1, WALDOBORO, ME 04572) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFTER KNOB NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE RESET, AND THE TRANSMISSION FLUID NEEDED TO BE FLUSHED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,460.

THE CONTACT CALLED RYDELL CHEVROLET (1325 E SAN MARNAN DR, WATERLOO, IA 50702, (319) 433-4871) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSFER CASE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 140,000.

ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS DURING THE PAST FEW MONTHS, THE WINDSHIELD ON MY 2015 CHEVROLET EQUINOX BECAME EXTREMELY FOGGED UP, SIGNIFICANTLY DECREASING VISIBILITY. THE VEHICLE WAS NEVER ABLE TO DEFROST OR CLEAR THE CONDENSATION UP, NO MATTER WHAT SELECTION WAS MADE ON THE HEAT/AIR CONDITIONING SETTING(S). APPROXIMATELY ONE WEEK AGO, WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH AN OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE OF APPROXIMATELY 45 DEGREES F, THE WINDSHIELD AGAIN BECAME EXTREMELY FOGGED UP. THIS TIME, THE WINDSHIELD CONDENSATION/FOG HAD BECOME SO SEVERE THAT I WAS UNABLE TO SEE OUT OF THE WINDSHIELD AND OTHER PASSENGER WINDOWS AT ALL AND WAS FORCED TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO CONTINUE DRIVING WITH NO VISIBILITY. THANKFULLY, I WAS NOT ON THE HIGHWAY AT THIS POINT AND WAS ABLE TO EFFECTIVELY PULL OFF THE ROADWAY WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY AND DIAGNOSED WITH A 'HEATER CORE FAILURE.' THE FAILURE OF THE HEATER CORE IS WHAT CAUSES THE EXTREME CONDENSATION BUILD UP AND FOGGING OF THE INTERIOR WINDSHIELD AND WINDOWS. THE VEHICLE IS ONLY A 2015 AND I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED WITH THE PREMATURE FAILURE(S) OF AN INTEGRAL COMPONENT OF THE VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY ONE THAT AFFECTS VISIBILITY AND COMPROMISES SAFETY TO MYSELF, MY PASSENGERS, AND OTHERS ON THE ROADWAY.

PURCHASED MY EQUINOX A YEAR AGO JUNE 2019. THE CAR WAS DOING FINE UP UNTIL ABOUT THE 2ND MONTH MARK I HAD IT. THE CAR BEGAN TO HAVE A VERY ROUGH AND JERKY STOP. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG. I GOT A OIL CHANGE AT LEAST EVERY MONTH DUE TO MY JOB AND HAVING TO DRIVE FREQUENTLY. IN MARCH I NOTICED MY CAR WAS IDLING ROUGH BUT DROVE OK. WHILE LEAVING WORK I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT MY CAR STALLED AND THE ENGINE COMPLETELY TURNED OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. I TURNED IT OFF AND RESTARTED IT. COUPLE DAYS LATER IT DID IT TWICE AS I WAS BACKING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND MY CAR WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY OF OIL EVEN THOUGH I HAD JUST GOTTEN AN OIL CHANGE. I NOW HAVE TO DO OIL CONSUMPTION TEST EVERY 2K MILES. MY CAR STILL SHIFTS ROUGH AT ACCELERATION AND DURING DOWNSHIFTING. I HAD TO HAVE MY CAMSHAFT SOLENOID SENSOR REPLACED AS WELL. MY CAR HAS 55K MILES.

THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BEFORE SERIOUS INJURY OCCURS. MY KIDS WERE IN THE CAR WITH ME WHEN THIS HAPPENED.

MY CAR IS A 2015 CHEVY EQUINOX THAT I HAVE DRIVEN SINCE I PICKED IT UP FROM THE DEALER WITH SIX MILES ON IT. ON OR ABOUT FEBRUARY 8. I STARTED THE CAR IN THE MORNING, AFTER RUNNING FOR A FEW SECONDS IT SOUNDED LIKE THE OIL WAS TOO LOW. I SHUT THE CAR OFF CHECKED THE OIL, FOUND IT LOW, I PUT TWO QUARTS IN AND STARTED IT AGAIN. I CHECKED IT AGAIN SAW IT WAS LOW, I LOOKED UNDERNEATH AND SAW OIL ON THE GROUND. I TOWED THE CAR TO MY REGULAR MECHANIC, HE SAID IT WAS A REAR MAIN SEAL. DURING THE REPAIR HE TOLD ME HE WAS RESEARCHING THE CAR AND LEARNED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR, AND WHILE HE IS REPLACING THE SEAL HE WANTED TO CLEAN THE PCV SYSTEM AS WELL. I ASKED HIM TO DO WHAT IS NECESSARY TO REPAIR THE CAR. AFTER PAYING OVER $1000.00 MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT I MAY WANT TO CALL GM OR NHTSA AND TRY TO GET REIMBURSED BECAUSE THIS IS THE SAME SYSTEM THAT WAS RECALLED, JUST A YEAR OFF. MY WIFE CALLED GM, THE PERSON SHE SPOKE WITH AGREED THAT THERE MAY BE AN ISSUE AND ASKED FOR ALL DOCUMENTATION, MY WIFE WAS SHOCKED WHEN THE 1ST REPRESENTATIVE TOLD HER THAT THEY KNEW ABOUT THE PROBLEM. THEN TOLD HER THAT A SENIOR REPRESENTATIVE WILL CALL HER BACK THE NEXT. TODAY THAT SENIOR REPRESENTATIVE CALLED HER BACK. I WAS HOME WHEN THIS HAPPENED. AFTER SHE EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED AND WHAT WAS DONE TO THE CAR THE FIST RESPONSE SHE GOT WAS "SINCE WE DIDN'T TAKE THE CAR TO A GM DEALERSHIP THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO" SHE THEN PUT ME ON THE PHONE AND I ASKED HIM THAT IF THE GM DEALER FIXED IT WOULD IT BE TAKEN CARE OF.? HE THEN CHANGED HIS TUNE TELLING ME THAT IT HAS NOT BEEN ESTABLISHED THAT A RECALL EXISTS. HOWEVER, HE DID SAY THAT NOTING CAN BE DONE JUST BECAUSE I READ SOMETHING ON THE INTERNET. I REPLIED THAT YES I WAS DOING RESEARCH, YES, I DID FIND OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE RECALL.IF OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. WHY NOT ANOTHER RECALL?

WITH OUT WARNING MY WIFES CAR WENT INTO ENGINE POWER FAILURE MODE. THE CAR WOULD NOT GO MORE THEN 10 MPH. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A CHEVY DEALERSHIP. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE VEHICLE WAS FOUR QUARTS LOW OF ITS MOTOR OIL. THEY THEN ASKED ME FOR ALL THE SERVICE RECORDS I HAD TO ESTABLISH A HISTORY. THEY HAD THE OIL CHANGES THAT I DID FROM THE DEALER, ONE FROM A WELL KNOW AUTO MERCHANDISER AND BECAUSE I DID THE MOST RECENT ONE MYSELF, THE DEALER IS TELLING ME THAT THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT THAT ONE BECAUSE THERE IS NO DOCUMENTATION OF ME DOING IT AND HENCE THE VEHICLES POWER TRAIN WARRANTY WILL NOT BE HONORED. THE CAR IS ONLY THREE YEARS OLD AND HAS 75000 MILES ON IT. NO INDICATION OF ANY ISSUES WERE PRESENT AT ANYTIME WITH THIS VEHICLE.

I PARKED MY CAR ON MONDAY NIGHT AND HEARD A RATTLING NOISE AND THE ENGINE SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS KNOCKING. I TURNED IT ON AND OFF AND IT STARTED AGAIN. THE NEXT DAY I GET IN TO TAKE MY TWO YOUNG CHILDREN TO SCHOOL AND THE CAR WOULDN'T START. I CALLED THE DEALER AND HAD THE CAR TOWED AND THE DEALER TELLS ME THAT I NEED A NEW ENGINE. THE VEHICLE HAS 58,352 MILES SO IT AS FAR I KNOW IT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY AS I HAVE LESS THAT 100,000 MILES AND ITS ONLY 3 YRS OLD SINCE I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW. WELL GM WILL NOT COVER THE MOTOR BECAUSE I DIDN'T TAKE IT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE OIL CHANGES DONE. SINCE THEY HAVE NO RECORD OF THE OIL CHANGES DESPITE THAT FACT THAT I DID THEM EVERY 3000 MILES AS RECOMMENDED THEY WILL NOT GIVE ME A NEW MOTOR YET I STILL HAVE TO PAY $510 A MONTH FOR A CAR THAT I CAN NO LONGER DRIVE. GRAY CHEVROLET IS THE DEALER THE CAR IS AT AND THEY ARE THE WORST. GM DOESN'T HONOR THEIR WARRANTIES AND SHOULD BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY A GM VEHICLE EVER AGAIN. WHY WAS THERE NO LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD PRIOR? HOW DO I NEED A MOTOR OVER NIGHT WHEN I HAD NO PROBLEMS PREVIOUSLY? WHY IS THAT GM WILL NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY OR AT LEAST SEND SOMEONE TO THE DEALER TO INVESTIGATE? THIS VEHICLES TRANSMISSION HAS SLIPPED SINCE BRAND NEW. MANY OTHER PEOPLE I KNOW, WHO HAVE THE SAME 4 CYLINDER ENGINE EXPERIENCE THIS SAME ISSUE. IT GOES OUT OF GEAR AT STOP SIGNS WHEN YOU TRY TO ENTER AN INTERSECTION, ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS AT SPEED AND IN ANY CONDITION. CHEVY IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT DOES NOTHING ABOUT IN, AND, THEY PUT THIS SAME TRANSMISSION IN THE NEW 2018 EQUINOX. ALSO, THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF A MAJOR HIGHWAY. IT WAS REPAIRED IN THE SHOP. A NUMBER OF OTHER EQUINOX OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS SAME ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 32,000.

ON 1/2/2017 I POSSIBLY TOTALED A 2015 CHEVY EQUINOX AND I WASN'T EVEN IN IT. I AM THE FIRE CHIEF IN MY TOWN AND RESPONDED TO A NON-RESPONSIVE INDIVIDUAL CALL. WHEN I ARRIVED I WAS APPARENTLY DISTRACTED BY THE CALL TYPE AND WHAT WE WERE GOING TO BE DOING NEXT AND LEFT THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE AND EXITED THE VEHICLE. IT WAS COLD SO I LEFT MY VEHICLE RUNNING. THE CAR SAT THERE FOR ABOUT 10 - 15 MINUTES IN DRIVE BUT NOT MOVING. I CAME OUT OF THE HOUSE TO MAKE A PHONE CALL, ONLY TO SEE MY VEHICLE START TO ROLL FORWARD AND THEN GAIN MOMENTUM AND TRAVEL INTO THE WOODS AND DOWN A RAVINE. WHAT IF THERE HAD NOT BEEN ANYTHING TO STOP IT. HOW FAR WOULD IT HAVE GONE? WHAT IF IT HAD BEEN IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA? WHAT IF IT HAD BEEN A MOTHER WHO GOT OUT FOR SOMETHING BUT LEFT HER KIDS IN THE CAR. THE TECHNOLOGY EXISTS TODAY ON MY RIDING LAWN MOWER THAT IF I AM NOT IN THE SEAT IT SHUTS OFF. SHOULD VEHICLES NOT HAVE THE SAME TECHNOLOGY TO KEEP THIS KIND OF ACCIDENT FROM HAPPENING? YES, I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THE EXTRA SECOND TO MAKE SURE IT WAS IN PARK, YES I COULD HAVE SET THE EMERGENCY BRAKE (WHICH I DEFINITELY WILL IN THE FUTURE FOR ANY VEHICLE I LEAVE RUNNING).
