I was driving out of supermarket I was alone and the airbags deployed. I was hit hard and had a panic attack. I was able to drive home 14 miles. Windshield busted and dash board totaled Everyone I try to download a picture I'm sent to the begining. I'm going to have pictures on file incase needed. .
MY MOTHER WAS DRIVING MY CAR AND WAS ONLY LESS THAN TEN FEET FROM MY FRONT DOOR,STILL IN THE PARKING LOT OF MY APARTMENT UNIT. BOTH AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, SHE HADN'T HIT ANYTHING. THEY BOTH DEPLOYED ,CRACKED THE WINDSHIELD AND DISABLED THE DASHBOARD.
TAKATA RECALL I WAS DROPPING MY DAUGHTER OFF AT THE BABYSITTERS HOUSE ON MY WAY TO A FUNERAL AROUND 10:30 ON SUNDAY OCTOBER 1, 2016. I PULLED OUT THE BABYSITTERS DRIVEWAY AND PROCEEDED TOWARDS BERKSHIRE STREET. MY CAR WAS IN MOTION AND BEFORE I MADE IT TO THE CORNER MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG BURST OPEN MY DASHBOARD OPENED ALL THE WAY ACROSS TO DRIVER'S SIDE. MY RADIO BROKE OFF MY BUTTONS FLEW OFF THE DASH AND I COULDN'T TELL WHETHER IT WAS DUST OR SMOKE FROM THE AIRBAG. I WASN'T HURT BUT WHEN I INHALE MY CHEST HURT AND MY ASTHMA FLARED UP AND MY RIGHT EAR IS IRRITATED. ALSO MY WINDSHIELD IS CRACKED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I DIDN'T HIT A BUMP OR CAR IT'S SMOOTH PAVEMENT I WAS CONFUSED AS TO WHAT CAUSED IT.
THE "AIR BAG " IDIOT LIGHT GOES ON THE DASH. IT CAN BE STATIONARY OR BEING DRIVEN.
I WAS STANDING OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE, WATCHING THE GAUGES ON THE INSTAMENT CLUSTER GOING UP AND DOWN, LIKE THEY WERE LOOSING POWER, THEN BOTH AIR BAGS EXPLODED! ,SHATTERED THE WINDSHIELD AND DASHBOARD! I JUST CANT BELIEVE THAT HAPPENED IF I OR MY LOVED ONES HAD BEEN GOING DOWN THE ROAD!!! WELL I DONT WANT TO THINK ABOUT THAT BUT, THE PIONT IS THE SYSTEM FAILLED. AND IF I HAD HIT A WALL OR SOMETHING AND BEEN KILLED IT WOULD HAVE LOOKED LIKE THE AIR BAGS WORKED PROPERLY. THIS CAR WAS IN MY DRIVE IDELING , IN PARK NO ONE EVEN TOUCHING IT!

I WAS DRIVING ON MAIN STREET IN RIO VISTA AND MY VEHICLE JUST SIMPLE SHUT OFF. THE CAR ROLLED AND HIT A PLANTER IN FRONT OF THE STORE AS I TRIED STEERING IT OUT OF THE STREET. WHEN I TRIED TO START IT AGAIN, THE IGNITION SWITCH WOULD NOT OPERATE. I CALLED THE AMICA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND WAS TOWED TO ABEL CHEVROLET. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS TYPICAL TO THIS YEAR VEHICLE AND THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THEY REPLACED IT AT A COST OF APPROXIMATELY $509.11 SINCE MY IGNITION HAS ALREADY BEEN REPLACED, DO I NEED TO TAKE IT BACK IN? ALSO WILL I BE COMPENSATED FOR THE COST OF THE REPLACEMENT? *TR

IT SLAMMED INTO THE CONCRETE MEDIUM WALL ON DRIVERS SIDE, THEN SPUN AROUND AND LODGED UNDERNEATH THE TRAILER OF A SEMI-TRACTOR. MY BEAUTIFUL CAR WAS TOTALED BUT, BY THE GRACE OF GOD AND SEAT BELTS I AM ALIVE. I HAVE A CONCUSSION, SPRAINED ANKLE, CUTS, AND BRUISES, BUT I AM HERE TO TELL ABOUT IT. DOCTORS SAID I WAS LUCKY TO BE ALIVE EVEN THOUGH I WORE MY SEATBELT B/C THE CAR HIT THE POLE AND THEN FLIPPED OVER 2 OR 3 TIMES BEFORE LANDING ON ITS HOOD WITH ME TRAPPED INSIDE. THE JAWS OF LIFE WERE USED TO HELP PULL MY PASSENGER DOOR OFF ENOUGH TO GET ME OUT OF CAR ONTO A FLATBOARD, ONCE THEY HAD ME IN A NECKBRACE, THAT IS. THE REASON I AM MAKING A COMPLAINT IS BECAUSE I LEASED THIS CAR AT A VERY HIGH PERCENTAGE RATE AND WAS MORE THAN 75% DONE PAYING IT OFF AND NOW I HAVE NOTHING. THE '02 CHEVROLET IMPALA HAD FRONT AIRBAGS, (AT LEAST THAT'S WHAT THEY SAID WHEN THEY SOLD ME THE CAR), HOWEVER, NEITHER DEPLOYED IN THE ACCIDENT AND I SUSTAINED A SERIOUS INJURY TO MY WHOLE LEFT SIDE. MY HEAD AND SHOULDER WENT RIGHT THROUGH THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW, HITTING THE PAVEMENT, AND I HAVE NERVE DAMAGE NOW B/C OF THIS. MY LEFT ARM IS NOW TINGLING AND GOING NUMB, WHICH COMES DOWN FROM A PINCHED NERVE IN MY NECK. I WILL NEED TO GO TO PHYSICAL THERAPY ONCE I AM ABLE. I AM ON HIGH DOSE PAIN MEDS. RIGHT NOW AND CAN BARELY WALK. I NOW WONDER IF THE AIRBAGS HAD BEEN DEPLOYED ALREADY SOMETIME B/F I BOUGHT THE CAR, PUT BACK IN USED, AND THAT IS WHY NEITHER CAME OUT WHEN THEY SHOULD HAVE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHEN THE HORN STARTED SOUNDING. THE HORN HAD TO BE DISENGAGED MANUALLY. THEN THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSURANCE COMPANY WOULD NOT COVER THE EXPENSE OF THE REPAIRS BECAUSE THE CONTACT DIDN'T STRIKE ANYTHING. CONSUMER CONTACTED GM TWICE, UPON CALLING THE SECOND TIME, GM INSTRUCTED THE CONSUMER TO TAKE IT TO A LOCAL DEALER, WHO DID A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, AND COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. GM WILL NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. CONSUMER'S INSURANCE AGENCY SAID THAT IT WAS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. CONSUMER REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO THE POLICE , AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD NOT FILE A REPORT BECAUSE THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. *AK

I RECENTLY BOUGHT A SECOND HAND 2002 CHEVROLET IMPALA WITH 45,955 MILES AS PART OF THE DEAL THE DEALER WAS TO FIX THE AIR BAG LIGHT -IT WOULD NOT GO OUT- A MONTH AFTER THE SALE OF THIS CAR I HAD TO HAVE THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING COLUMN REPLACED AT A COST OF $331 BECAUSE THE STEERING WAS KNOCKING ALL THE TIME, NO MATTER THE ROAD CONDITION. I BELIEVE THAT FOR A CAR THAT HAS HAD NO ACCIDENT DAMAGE AND HAS THIS AMOUNT OF MILEAGE ON IT, THAT THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I CAN EXPECT MORE OF THE SAME AND IF THIS WAS/IS A SAFETY ISSUE? I DRIVE ABOUT 5000 MILES A YEAR MYSELF. HITTING THE TRUCK PARKED IN THAT GATE WITH THE FORCE OF PUSHING IT INTO THE BUILDING, WHERE THE BUILDING WAS CRACKED ON THE INSIDE. ACCORDING TO THE MANUAL ITS NO REASON WHY THE AIRBAGS SHOULD NOT HAVE DEPLOYED AT THIS TIME. I DAMAGED THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. ALSO THE DRIVER SIDE HAS SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE. WHICH AS STATED THE OWNERS MANUAL ARE REASONS THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. CAN YOU PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS SITUATION . I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON THIS HAS HAPPENED TO WITH AN CHEVROLET IMPALA 2002. I HAVE MADE CONTACT WITH OTHER OWNERS. WHO HAVE ALSO FILED CLAIMS WITH YOU.
