Cars acceleration causes me to be unable to pick up speed it decelerates up hills small or latg ramps cats constantly fly pass to avoid a multi car pile up it’s very dangerous!
WHEN BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVE WAY AND GO TO ACCELERATE THE ABS/TRACTION CONTROL ENGAGES AND CAUSES THE CAR TO STOP. IT ALSO HAPPENS ON THE ROAD ONCE U COME TO A STOP AND OR STOP AND TURN ONTO A STREET OR HIGHWAY. ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED A FEW TIMES. I READ ONLINE AT ITS HAPPENING ALOT TO PEOPLE ALL OVER. THIS PROBLEM IS CONSTANT EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. PREVIOUS OWER ADVISED ME OF THE PROBLEM AS WELL.

TURNED ON MY CAR STARTED PUSHING ON THE GAS MY CAR MADE A WEIRD VIBRATION TYPE SOUND. CAME UP ON MESSAGE BOARD TRACTION CONTROL AFTER A COUPLE TIMES OF IT DOING THAT, THE ABS AND TAX LIGHT COME ON AND ON THE MESSAGE WINDOW IT SAYS SYSTEM TRACTION SERVICE. IT KINDA FREAKED ME OUT CAUSE I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT WENT TO GO HIT THE GAS AND IT SAID TRACTION CONTROL AND I MOVED A LITTLE THAN I HAD TO LET GO OF GAS THEN TRY AGAIN. ALSO HAVE HAD A COUPLE INCIDENTS WHERE I GO TO BREAK AND IT MAKES A VIBRATION FEELING ON THE BRAKE AND BRINGS UP TRACTION CONTROL AGAIN. REALLY WOULD LIKE THIS CHECKED OUT VERY CONCERNED. DON'T WANT TO GET IN AN ACCIDENT CAUSE MY CAR FAILS TO TAKE OFF.

I WORK AN HOUR AWAY AND TAKE THE TURNPIKE....I NOTICED WHILE I WAS DRIVING THAT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS NEAR 90, AND WHEN I PULLED INTO MY JOBS PARKING LOT I WAS NEAR 40 MPH...THE PARKING LOT'S SPEED LIMIT IS 10 MILES PER HOUR WITH SPEEDBUMPS SO I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG. WHEN I GOT OFF OF WORK MY GAS TANK READ PAST THE FULL MARK....I HAVE BEEN FILLING THE TANK EVERY OTHER DAY TO PREVENT BEING STRANDED. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALER AND HE TOOK A LOOK AT IT. 2004 CHEVROLET IMPALA DEALER HAS NOT RECEIVED PART FOR RECALL *CN THE CONSUMER STATED IN DECEMBER 2013, HE BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE A PROBLEM WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 65 MPH. THE VEHICLE WOULD LOSE POWER, INCLUDING THE SPEEDOMETER DROPPING TO ZERO. A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP INSPECTED THE VEHICLE, AND INFORMED THE CONSUMER, THE SPEEDOMETER IN THE CLUSTER HAD APPARENTLY GONE BAD. THE CLUSTER WAS REPLACED. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN. THE CONSUMER WENT TO ANOTHER SHOP AND THEY STATED THE SPEED CONTROL SENSOR WAS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2004 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED TO APPROXIMATELY 70-80 MPH THEN SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO A GUARDRAIL. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A CRACKED OR BROKEN RIB, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD AND WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V400000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AFTER THE CRASH. MY 2004 IMPALA ABS BRAKES MALFUNCTIONED ALONG WITH MY TRACTION CONTROL , SHE TRIED TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN AND THE BRAKE PEDAL KICKED UP AND WOULD NOT LET HER STOP SHE REMOVED HER FOOT FROM THE BRAKE AND TRIED PRESSING THE PEDAL BACK DOWN AND IT KICKED UP KICKING IN THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL NOT ALLOWING HER TO STOP AND SHE RAN INTO A SNOW BANK BUT MY INSURANCE PAID FOR THE BODY WORK BUT NOT THE MECHANICAL PROBLEMS I REPLACED BOTH HUBS ON THE FRONT, QUIT DOING IT FOR A WEEK OR SO AND THEN WHEN I DRIVE IT THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS KICKS IN WHILE IM DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. WE BOUGHT AN IMPALA CHEVROLET 2004 NEW IN 2004. THERE WERE A FEW PROBLEMS WITH IT. INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER -AND SPEEDOMETER GAUGE DID NOT WORK AND NOISES CAME FROM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. STEERING GEAR POPPED/CLANKING NOISE HEARD AND SENSED FROM FRONT END. ALSO, SEEMED LIKE SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE IT DID NOT CHANGE GEARS CORRECTLY, AND IT KIND OF BUMPED WHEN ACCELERATING, APPEARED AS IF ENGINE DID NOT WANT TO ACCELERATE. THERE WAS A DELAYED START, MAY BE NECESSARY TO HOLD KEY IN START SEVERAL SECONDS UNTIL STARTING OR TURNING BACK AND TRYING AGAIN. SOMETIMES KEY LOCKED IN AND WON'T TURN. TOOK TO DEALER, BUT IT DID NOT DO IT FOR THEM. *AK ON THE STEERING GEAR THE STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT WAS REPLACED ON 11/19/05. AGAIN THE NOISE WAS BACK AND ON 07/17/07 THE STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT WAS LUBRICATED. ON OTHER ISSUES REPAIRS ARE TO COSTLY. DO NOT FEEL SECURE ON VEHICLE THESE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN GOING ON FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS.

INTERSTATE DRIVING USING CRUISE CONTROL. CRUISE CONTROL DISABLED WHEN BRAKING FOR AN EXIT BUT LEFT IN THE ON POSITION ON THE DIMMER SWITCH. CRUISE CONTROL AUTOMATICALLY RESUMES AND THE CRUISE LIGHT COMES ON WITHOUT USING THE ACCEL OR RESUME BUTTON ON THE STEERING WHEEL. APPLIED THE BRAKE IMMEDIATELY AND THE CRUISE CONTROL DISABLED ITSELF. I NO LONGER LEAVE THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH IN THE ON POSITION UNLESS USING. ON SEPTEMBER 27, 2005 I RENTED A CHEVROLET IMPALA FROM AVIS ON W 76TH ST IN NEW YORK CITY. WHILE SITTING STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT LATER THAT DAY IN HARTFORD, CT, THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS WITH WHAT APPEARED TO BE FULL THROTTLE INTO THE CAR DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF IT WHILE FULL BRAKE PRESSURE WAS BEING APPLIED. ABOUT ONE SECOND WENT BY AND IT HAPPENED ONCE MORE, STRIKING THE CAR IN FRONT OF US. SINCE THERE WAS SUCH A SMALL DISTANCE BETWEEN THE CARS THE CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO REACH A HIGH SPEED, BUT THERE WAS A STRONG JOLT WHEN STRIKING THE OTHER CAR. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF AND INSPECTING FOR DAMAGE NONE WAS FOUND TO EITHER VEHICLE BUT IN OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES THIS COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH MORE DANGEROUS. I CALLED AVIS ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND REQUESTED THAT A CAR BE BROUGHT TO ME BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR ANY MORE. I WAS TOLD THAT IF THE CAR WAS DRIVABLE I HAD TO BRING IT TO AN AVIS LOCATION MYSELF. LATER THAT NIGHT, I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE AVIS LOCATION AT THE BRADLEY AIRPORT IN HARTFORD AND THE CAR ACCELERATED SUDDENLY AGAIN. THANKFULLY THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I RETURNED THE CAR AND WAS GIVEN AN EXCHANGE.*JB
DT: CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT ACCELERATION PROBLEMS. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED EVEN THOUGH THE FOOT WAS OFF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THIS HAPPENED 5 TIMES IN THE PAST YEARS. THE ACCELERATOR ONLY DID THIS WHEN THE CAR WAS RUNNING FOR OVER 30 MINUTES. PREVIOUSLY, THE ENGINE COULD RUN FOR OVER 2 HOURS BEFORE THIS WOULD HAPPEN. THE CAR WAS IN THE SHOP 3 TIMES, AND THE DEALER HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. BUT THIS DID NOT LEAD TO ANY INFORMATION. THEY CRUISE CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED AFTER TESTING WAS DONE. THE DEALER SUGGESTED THAT CONSUMER BRING THE CAR I WHEN THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED. CONSUMER CONTACTED GM. THEY WOULD DOCUMENT THE CLAIM AND THE VEHICLE 'S HISTORY AND THAT WAS ALL THEY COULD DO. CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO 2 DEALERSHIPS, AND NEITHER COULD FIND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM.*AK
