First battery needed replaced every year then few weeks ago with no warning light or messages that battery was dieing the battery died again it was replaced then it started reving up and down on its own while driving so it goes faster then slower on its own when it feels like it.. TPS wont show tire pressure cant relearn tire positions now dash lights works usually then don't bright lights don't work now if automatic light control is on car shakes bad while breaking idles hard uses ALOT of gas now massive amount of heat coming off engine now with no dash light or guage saying temp is going up engine smells kind of bad after driving the car replaced transmission once couple years ago transmission maybe going out again the gear shift locks don't work it slips out of gear and into another gear effortlessly while driving and while parked without pressing the button to move the gear shift clicking or tapping noise started coming from front end only when turning left now does it while.turning and sometimes while.going straight and it's all still happening... theres more but not going into all of it now. DTC code listed 2days ago was listed as: B1000-00 Electronic Control Unit. Searched Google for code and got posts saying ECU needs replaced..updated or reprogrammed and some say BCU needs replaced..upgraded or reprogrammed. Each time I search the code I get a different reason for the code and different meaning. I have a 2006 Chevy Impala SS 5.3L V8 with police package. Car is available for inspection anytime.

While I was driving I had to stop on a hill and when I pushed the gas to accelerate it wouldn’t move the engine just revved up and hasn’t moved since just when you push on the gas and the rpm’s go up to 5-6 and it will move maybe a foot or so. There was no warning or messages that appeared before this happened and even now after it’s happens and it’s not showing any code to what’s wrong with it. It affected my safety and others because it wouldn’t move while in the middle of the road and I could have got in to a serious car accident because of it.

IN MY 006 IMPALA SS THE TRANSMISSION IS STARTING TO SLIP. THE CAR IS AROUND 83,000 MILES WHEN I FIRST NOTICED THIS ISSUE, AND THE VEHICLE WASN'T DOING ANY HARD ACCELERATION (AROUND 20-25 MILES AN HOUR SHIFTING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR). I AM WORRIED THAT I WILL HAVE TO PAY TO GET IT REPLACED.

I WAS NEARLY HIT BY CARS BEHIND ME. APPARENTLY MY THROTTLE BODY WAS AT FAULT. ABOUT A YEAR LATER HAD THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPEN WHILE COMING HOME FROM WORK. THROTTLE WENT BAD AND WAS NEARLY STRUCK BY TRAFFIC AGAIN. GOOGLE CHEVY IMPALA THROTTLE BODY AND YOU WILL SEE ALL THE PROBLEMS. NOT SURE HOW THIS HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED YET. WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE I WAS TOLD THAT THEY DO AT LEAST 3-4 OF THESE A WEEK. HOW IS THIS ALLOWED TO BE PUT ON CARS WHEN AT ANY RANDOM POINT THIS COULD QUIT. THEY SAID IT HAS AN ISSUE RELATED TO OIL CORRODING THE WIRES WHICH WOULD ALSO EXPLAIN WHY I GO THROUGH 3-4 QTS OF OIL EVERY 3,000 MILES. AT 101,000 MILES I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND MY TRANSMISSION STOPPED WORKING. I REFINANCED MY CAR TO REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION FOR $2,200 . AFTER THE REBUILD TRANSMISSION WAS WORKING OK. THEN AT 122,000 MILES IT STOPPED WORKING AGAIN... IT WAS SNOWING AND I WAS STRANDED IN THE TURN LANE OF A ROAD WITH A SPEED LIMIT OF 55MPH... I TURNED OFF MY CAR LET THE ENGINE COOL DOWN AND BACK ON AT LEAST 20 TIMES... MY CAR MOVED ABOUT 200 FEET EACH TIME... AN HOUR LATER I GOT BACK TO MY HOUSE THAT WAS 5MILES FROM THE FAILURE. I CANT AFFORD TO FIX IT NOW AND I AM STILL PAYING FOR THE CAR. ITS BEEN SITTING IN MY YARD FOR 10 MONTHS. THIS ISSUE IS VERY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED. I ALSO RECEIVED A RECALL FOR MY POWER STEERING HOSE, GOT IT FIXED AND THE BRACKETS CAME LOOSE FROM MY FRAME CAUSING MY STEERING TO GET VERY HARD. MY HOSE HAD RUBBED ON MY FRAME MAKING A HOLE. I WENT TO THE STORE AND BOUGHT MORE POWER STEERING FLUID BUT AFTER I PUT IT IN MY STEERING WAS MAKING A LOUD SOUND AND DIDN'T TURN WELL. I HAD JUST PURCHASED THIS CAR IN JANUARY OF 2007 AND I HAD NOTICED THE TRANSMISSION HAVING ISSUES WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. I FIRST NOTICED THIS ISSUE WHEN BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND PULLING THE CAR INTO GEAR (DRIVE) THERE WOULD BE A HESITATION AND A "CLUNK" NOISE. I WAS NOT SURE WHAT THE ISSUE WAS AT FIRST SO I WAITED UNTIL IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND CALLED THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALER TO INSPECT IT, AS IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. THE MECHANIC COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND TOLD ME THERE WAS NO ISSUE. THE TRANSMISSION HAD CONTINUED TO HAVE ISSUES OVER THE PAST 6-7 YEARS. I ALSO HAD THE TRANSMISSION ACT UP WHEN I WOULD BE DRIVING IN TOWN FROM A STOP UP TO HIGHWAY SPEEDS. AT A FULL STOP THE CAR WOULD HESITATE TO SHIFT INTO GEAR ALMOST CAUSING MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS. MANY TIMES I WOULD NEED TO DOWN SHIFT TO FIRST GEAR AND UP SHIFT IN ORDER TO GET MY VEHICLE GOING. IN THE PAST THREE YEARS I HAVE PERSONALLY ALMOST BEEN IN ABOUT 12 OR MORE POTENTIAL ACCIDENT SITUATIONS BECAUSE OF THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO UP SHIFT THROUGH 1ST, 2ND, 3RD GEARS UP TO ROAD SPEED AND THEN SHIFT INTO DRIVE. THIS HAS BEEN A REGULAR OCCURRENCE SINCE THIS TIME. I HAVE ISSUES WITH HARD SHIFTING WHEN I BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, FROM A FULL STOP AND EVEN WHEN THE TRANSMISSION TRIES TO SHIFT UP WHEN I AM DRIVING IN TOWN OR HIGHWAY SPEEDS. AT ABOUT 91000 MILES MY TRANSMISSION STARTED ACTING UP (NOT SHIFTING RIGHT, NOT GOING INTO ANY GEAR ETC.) MY 2006 CHEVY IMPALA WILL NOT TURN ON. I REPLACED THE BATTERY AND STARTER WITH THE SAME RESULTS. STARTER RELAY IS ALSO GOOD. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM ON THE WEB AND TO MY HORROR, THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE, WITH VERY HIGH DOLLAR POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS THAT MAY NOT WORK. EVERY TIME I BRING IN THIS VEHICLE I AM CHARGED 100 DOLLARS FOR THEM TO SAY WHAT IS WRONG AND WHEN THEY (SUPPOSEDLY) FIX IT ( OR SAY IT DID NOT DO IT WITH THEM AND ITS ALL IN MY HEAD AND YOUR DOING SOMETHING WRONG TO IT), IT DOES IT AGAIN. ALSO, THE ENGINE MOUNT BROKE, THE WATER PUMP, STEERING AND TIE RODS FAILED, THE ENGINE BURNED EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL, AND THE ENGINE LOW OIL LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE WINDOWS MADE A SCREECHING SOUND, THE SUNROOF WOULD DRAG, THE PLASTIC HEADLIGHT COVERED WERE FOGGED AND FADED. THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING LIGHT WAS CONSTANTLY ON. ON APRIL 24, 2013. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT TRANSMISSION SHOP TO HAVE THEM ASSESS THE SAME TRANSMISSION SLIPPING PROBLEM, SHE HAD BEEN EXPERIENCING FOR SEVEN YEARS. THEY DROPPED THE TRANSMISSION PAN, AND THEY FOUND FINE METAL, PIECES OF ALUMINUM AND CLUTCH MATERIAL IN THE PAN.

PURCHASED THE 2006 CHEVY IMPALA 3.9L WITH ABOUT 30,000 MILES. AT AROUND 60,000 MILES I STARTED TO NOTICE THE TRANSMISSION SLIP, MAYBE HAPPENED ONCE EVERY 20 TRIPS. AT AROUND 70,000 MILES IT STARTED HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY, ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK. HAD THE CAR LOOKED AT BY A MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD NO ISSUE WAS FOUND. NOW AT 75,000 MILES AND IT HAPPENS MULTIPLE TIMES ALMOST EVERY TRIP I TAKE WITH MY CAR. IT OCCURS AFTER SHIFTING FROM PARK INTO DRIVE THEN PULLING OFF OR WHEN PULLING OFF FROM A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. ENGINE REVS, CAR HESITATES FOR 2-4 SECONDS THEN SLIPS REAL HARD INTO GEAR. I HAVE READ IN NUMEROUS FORUMS THAT GM TECH SAY THIS IS NORMAL BEHAVIOR FOR THIS TRANSMISSION, AND NUMEROUS PEOPLE HAVING THEIR TRANSMISSIONS REPLACED ONLY TO HAVE THIS ISSUE RECUR. THIS ISSUE ALMOST RESULTED IN CRASH ONCE WHEN ENTERING A 40MPH ZONE FROM A STOP SIGN, AS AFTER STOPPING AND TAKING MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND APPLYING THE GAS, THE VEHICLE BEGAN ROLLING ONTO THE 40MPH ZONE AND ENCOUNTERED A 6-7 SECOND DELAY BEFORE SLIPPING INTO GEAR AND ACCELERATING, CAUSING THE APPROACHING VEHICLE TO HAVE TO APPLY ITS BRAKE ABRUPTLY TO PREVENT A COLLISION. IN THE FALL OF 2010, I TOOK MY 2006 CHEVY IMPALA SS TO A CHEVY DEALER FOR AN OIL CHANGE. WHILE WAITING FOR MY VEHICLE, I WAS ADVISED BY THE MECHANIC I SHOULD HAVE THE TRANSMISSION FLUSHED. I QUESTIONED HIM BECAUSE THERE WAS ONLY 60K MILES ON THE CAR, ALSO, HAD NOT NOTICED ANYTHING WHILE DRIVING THAT WOULD INDICATE THAT BEING NEEDED. I HAD THE FLUSH DONE ANYWAY, AND, SINCE THEN, THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN SLIPPING FROM A COMPLETE STOP. IT WASN'T BAD AT FIRST, ONLY HAPPENED ONCE IN A GREAT WHILE. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE SAME SHOP THAT FLUSHED THE TRANSMISSION TO CHECK ON IT, ONLY TO HAVE THEM TELL ME THERE WAS NO PROBLEM AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I NOW HAVE 80K MILES ON THE CAR AND THE PROBLEM IS GETTING WORSE, THE SLIP HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY TIME I ACCELERATE FROM A DEAD STOP AND I ALSO FEEL TORQUE SHUDDER WHILE AT HIGHER SPEEDS. I HAD IT REBUILT FOR $2442 ALL OUT OF MY OWN POCKET BECAUSE MY POWERTRAIN WARRANTY HAD ALREADY EXPIRED. NOW A MERE 3 MONTHS LATER AND NOW CURRENTLY AT 69,200 MILES THE NEW TRANSMISSION IS SHOWING THE SAME EXACT SYMPTOMS IT HAD WHEN IT FAILED THE FIRST TIME. AGAIN WITH NO WARRANTY AND REPAIR COSTS OVER 2000 DOLLARS I WILL SOON BE FORCED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN. NOT TO MENTION RENTAL CAR COSTS AND THE INCONVENIENCE OF HAVING THIS HAPPEN TWICE WITHIN A YEAR AND 10,000 MILES APART. I HAVE A 2006 IMPALA SS. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED USED WITH APPROXIMATELY 12K MILES, IN EARLY 2009 AT 62K THE TRANSMISSION FAILED, STRANDING MY FAMILY ON THE PA TURNPIKE. IN JANUARY 2011 AT 101K WE HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN. LUCKILY WE PURCHASED A GM POWER-TRAIN TRANSMISSION AND IT CAME WITH A 3YR WARRANTY. THE FAILURE SYMPTOMS WERE IDENTICAL FOR EACH OCCURRENCE. 1ST THE TRANSMISSION WOULD OCCASIONALLY SHUDDER WHILE SHIFTING. EVENTUALLY IT WOULD SHUDDER AND PREDICTABLY SLIP WHEN MAINTAINING A SPEED AT OR NEAR 1800 RPM. THIS WAS ESPECIALLY NOTICEABLE DRIVING UP HILLS. FINALLY THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE WHILE THE ENGINE RPM SPIKED WHEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE ENTIRE FAILURE PERIOD WAS AROUND 1000 MILES FROM THE 1ST SIGN THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS HAVING DIFFICULTY TO SHIFTING TO THE FINAL FAILURE. THE TRANSMISSION APPEARS TO REACH VERY HIGH TEMPERATURES AND HAS A LONG COOL OFF PERIOD. WHEN REPLACING THE POWER STEERING GEAR I NOTICED THAT THE EXHAUST AND ENGINE WERE COOL TO THE TOUCH, BUT THE TRANSMISSION REMAINED WARM THROUGH OUT THE REPAIR. I AM WRITING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE 4T65E-HD TRANSMISSION IN GENERAL MOTOR'S LINEUP OF V8 POWERED W-BODY PLATFORM CARS. I HAVE EXPERIENCED MANY ISSUES OF THIS TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AND HESITATING ON ACCELERATION FROM A STOP. I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THE ISSUE FOR ABOUT 30K MILES NOW. THE CAR IS NOT BEATEN, OR DRIVEN HARD AT ALL. ALL MY ROUTINE MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN DONE. ANOTHER THING THAT I ATTEMPTED PER THE RECOMMENDATION OF A GM MASTER TECH WAS TO CHANGE THE VALVE BODY. WHICH I DID AND IT CORRECTED THE ISSUE FOR 3 DAYS. TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REBUILT ONCE, THEN SUBSEQUENTLY REPLACED WITH A REMANUFACTURED UNIT FROM GENERAL MOTORS. THIS REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION IS NOW DISPLAYING ANOMALOUS BEHAVIOR. PRIOR TO EACH FAILURE, THE TRANSMISSION EXHIBITED A VARIETY OF INCORRECT BEHAVIOR, INCLUDING RAPID TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH LOCKING AND UNLOCKING, SLIPPING AND REVVING FROM A STOP, WITHOUT THE CAR MOVING, THEN SUDDENLY SLAMMING INTO GEAR WITH THE CAR MOVING AWAY FROM REST. THE MOST RECENT ISSUE HAS BEEN AN OSCILLATION ON 4-3 DOWNSHIFTS AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, AS WELL AS EXCESSIVE TRANSMISSION HEAT BUILD-UP WITH THE TORQUE CONVERTER UNLOCKED. THE FIRST TIME THE TRANSMISSION DISPLAYED ODD BEHAVIOR, WHICH WAS TORQUE CONVERTER LOCK AND UNLOCK AT CRUISING SPEEDS, DEALER DROVE THE CAR ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM, AND UPON DISASSEMBLY, FOUND TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH MATERIAL IN THE PAN. THEY REBUILT THE TRANSMISSION WITH NEW SOFT PARTS AND REPLACED THE CONVERTER. VEHICLE HAD 59,000 AND THIS WAS ALL PERFORMED UNDER WARRANTY. ABOUT 23,000 MILES LATER, WHEN PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP, THE ENGINE WOULD REV UP MOMENTARILY, BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. IT WOULD THEN SLAM INTO GEAR AND MOVE OFF. DEALER CONFIRMED ISSUE, DISASSEMBLED, AND DETERMINED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH HAD AGAIN FAILED. DEALER REPLACED TRANSMISSION WITH A REMANUFACTURED UNIT. THIS WAS ALL DONE UNDER WARRANTY. VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 86000 MILES AT THIS TIME. IMMEDIATELY UPON RECEIVING CAR BACK AFTER REPLACEMENT OF TRANSMISSION, NOTED OSCILLATION ON 4-3 DOWNSHIFTS, AS WELL AS MUCH HIGHER TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURES WITH CONVERTER UNLOCKED (ABOUT 40 DEGREES HIGHER), AS WELL AS EXCESSIVE LOOSENESS OF THE TORQUE CONVERTER. RETURNED TO DEALER, WHO CLAIMED ALL WAS NORMAL. SINCE THAT TIME, WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. INDEED THIS DID NOT HAPPEN! MY VEHICLE HAS RETURNED ABOUT 8 TIMES FOR SAME OR SIMILAR PROBLEM. FERNADO IS A GREAT CUSTOMER ATTENDANT, BUT HE DOES NOT WORK ON MY CAR, SO WHAT I FEEL IS NOT DIRECTED TOWARDS HIM. RECALL ON SOMETHING IN THE BRAIN OF THE CAR (IT'S COMPUTER).ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER CAR STARTED LOSING POWER ON THE FREEWAY GOING TWENTY FIVE AND THE RPM'S AS HIGH AS IT COULD GO IN THE RED, THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AFTER MAKING A LOUD NOISE REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION DUE TO AN ?ELECTRICAL? PROBLEM. THEY DID NOT REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION ON MY NEW CAR 1 WEEK LATER CAR WOULD NOT TURN OFF! KEY OUT AND IT WAS STILL RUNNING KILL BATTERY SEVERAL TIMES SPEAKERS ARE NOT PROPERLY WORKING ALONG WITH THE FACTORY ALARM 2 MONTHS LATER THE CAR DID IT AGAIN I CAN'T EVEN GET THE CAR TO LOCK PERIOD, EVERY TIME I MANUALLY LOCK THE DOORS, THEY AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCK I'M DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND IT TOTALLY JUST OVER HEATS AND CUTS OF IN ALL OF FIVE SECONDS WITH A BIG CITY BUS DIRECTLY BEHIND ME. THIS STARTS JULY 3RD, 2008 THE CAR WILL NOT CUT OFF, NOT EVEN WHEN MY HUSBAND PULLED ITS FUSE, PERIOD, IT JUST KEPT RUNNING TILL THE BATTERY DIED AND THE CAR LOST ALL POWER. JULY 10TH, 2008 THEY CALL ME TO PICK MY CAR UP, IT'S READY AGAIN!!! JULY 11TH, 2008 THEY HAD TO TOW IT BACK BECAUSE THE CAR OVERHEATED, THEN WOULD NOT TURN OFF AND THE ENGINE STATED IT HAD LOW POWER, WHAT EVER THAT MEANS...GRRRRHHHH!!! AUGUST 27TH, 2008 THE CAR WOULD NOT SHUT OFF, EVEN ONCE WE PULLED THE FUSE, THE ENGINE STARTED SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLE LIKE IT WAS GOING TO JUMP OUT AND THE DASH BOARD WAS READING ALL TYPES OF CRAZY MESSAGES!!! TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING HOSE WAS LEAKING AND THEY REPAIRED THE FAILURE. CURRENTLY, THE POWER STEERING COLUMN HAS FAILED AGAIN AFTER THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING PROPERLY. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 36,000. UPDATED 03/26/08. *LJ THE TRANSMISSION REVERSE GEAR WAS DEFECTIVE, THE TRANSMISSION ALSO HAD A DELAYED ENGAGEMENT. THE WINDSHIELD WAS CRACKED, THE LEFT FRONT DOOR WAS OUT OF ALIGNMENT. ONE OF THE TIRE WAS LOOSING AIR.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH OR STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE LUNGES FORWARD 10 TO 15 FEET BY ITSELF. THE FAILURE OCCURS WHENEVER THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE PERFORMS THE SAME WAY WHEN IN REVERSE. FOR THE PAST TWO MONTHS, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALER HAS HAD THE VEHICLE. ALL OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL AGREED THAT THE VEHICLE LUNGES FORWARD ABNORMALLY, BUT STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 7,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000. I AM A POLICE OFFICER AND HAVE HAD SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE ON TRAFFIC STOPS, THAT MY ASSIGNED 2006 IMPALA HAS ROLLED BACKWARDS AFTER I HAD GOTTEN OUT OF THE CAR TO APPROACH A TRAFFIC VIOLATOR; I HAD TO JUMP BACK IN AND PUT IT BACK IN PARK.. ON 10/ 04/07 THIS CAR ALMOST COST ME MY LIFE. I BLOCKED AN ENTRANCE RAMP AND WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE CAR I STOOD BY THE OPEN DRIVER DOOR. THE CAR JUMPED INTO GEAR AND BACKED OVER ME. I WAS DRUG BACKWARDS AND COULD NOT FREE MYSELFAS I WAS BEING HELPLESSLY DRAGGED UNDER MY CAR. WHEN THE CAR WENT INTO THE MEDIAN IT DUG MY BODY INTO THE DIRT. I WAS ABLE TO ROLL FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAR. I THEN JUMPED BACK IN AND STOPPED THE CAR FROM CROSSING THE EXPRESSWAY. I HAVE BEEN ON THE STREETS AS A BEAT OFFICER FOR OVER 21 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD ANYTHING LIKE THIS HAPPEN. I SPOKE WITH ANOTHER OFFICER AND HE ALSO HAS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WHILE ON TRAFFIC STOPS. I WAS ADVISED BY FLEET MANAGEMENT THAT THERE HAS BEEN ONE OTHER INCIDENT REPORTED. MY PATROL CAR WAS TOWED ON OCT 8 AND LATER I WAS ADVISED BY FLEET MANAGEMENT THAT GM REPS LOOKED AT THE CAR AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. FLEET MANAGEMENT PERSONNEL REFUSE TO GIVE ME ANY INFORMATION AS FOR A CONTACT PERSON WITH GM. NOTE -AS OF 10/19/07 THEY STILL HAVE THE CAR UNDER LOCK AND KEY. I SUSTAINED ROAD RASH, BRUISING, CERVICAL STRAIN, AND A POSSIBLE FRACTURE IN MY BACK. I HAVE CONTACTED MY LOCAL FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE PRESIDENT AND HE HAS BEEN GATHERING INFORMATION AS TO SEVERAL OTHER OFFICERS THAT HAVE HAD THEIR ASSIGNED 2006 IMPALA GO OUT OF GEAR AND STRIKE OBJECTS. IN ADDITION THEY HAD BEEN CHARGED WITH THE ACCIDENTS AND POINTS ASSESSED. PER MY FOP PRESIDENT AN INVESTIGATION IS BEING DONE TO REMOVE THOSE OFFICERS POINTS AND DICIPLINARY ACTION PER MY UNFORTUNATE INCIDENT. MY CONCERN NOW IS FOR THE SAFETY OF THE CITIZENS ON A NATIONAL LEVEL, WHILE THESE CHEVY IMPALAS ARE BEING USED FOR PUBLIC SAFETY. *TR

LEASED 2006 IMPALA LT 3/06. 2/07-FIRST THING THAT HAPPENED WAS POWER STEERING LINE BLEW WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH. HAD TOWED VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS FIXED. THEY LEFT ALL THE FLUID ALL OVER ENGINE AND BRAKES. SHORTLY AFTER, EXPERIENCED CLANKING NOISE FROM FRONT OF VEHICLE. TOOK TO DEALER FIRST TIME, THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM, COULD BE LEFT OVER POWER STEERING FLUID FROM THE BLOWOUT, CAUSING NOISE ON MOVING PARTS. ALSO NOTICED TIRES WERE WEARING. GOT OIL CHANGE AND 3RD TIRE ROTATION FOR VEHICLE. TIRES STILL WEARING IN FRONT AND NOISE BECOMING MORE PROMINENT IN FRONT. TOOK BACK TO DEALER, SAID IT WAS A TRANS AXLE PROBLEM, AND WAS ALSO CAUSING AN ALIGNMENT PROBLEM. THEY CORRECTED THE TRANS AXLE PROBLEM UNDER WARRANTY, BUT SAID THE ALIGNMENT AND EXCESSIVE WEAR ON TIRES WAS MY PROBLEM. THIS DIDN'T SEEM RIGHT, A PROBLEM ON THE VEHICLE CAUSED ANOTHER PROBLEM, BUT IT WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY. THEY SAID THEY ALIGNMENT WAS OK NOW. I ASKED IF THEY CHECKED AND THEY SAID NO, IT WOULD BE OKAY SINCE THE TRANS AXLE PROBLEM WAS CORRECTED. THEY SAID I COULD COMPLAIN, THEY JUST FOLLOW THE RULES FROM UP ABOVE. *AK
