I WAS DRIVING WHEN I NOTICED MY CAR SLIPPING FROM 11ST FEAR INTO SECOND. THE DEFROST DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY AND ALL WINDOWS ARE FROZEN MAKING IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE.

AFTER CHECKING A FEW RHINGS, THEY TOLD ME THAT MY TRANSMISSION HAD GONE OUT.

THE TRANSMISSION WAS CRACKED-CHEVROLET SAID NOT THEIR FAULT, SO, I REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION. THEN, IT STARTED DOING IT AGAIN. I REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS. IT STOPPED. THEN, STARTED UP AGAIN. TOOK TO THE CHEVROLET GARAGE WHO PUT IT ON THEIR TOTAL DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE. TOLD I NEED BOTH BEARINGS ON THE FRONT. AT A $972.00 PRICE TAG FOR THIS, I BOUGHT THE BEARINGS AND HAD ANOTHER GARAGE PUT THEM ON AT A GREAT REDUCTION IN COST TO ME ON LABOR. NOW, IT IS DOING IT AGAIN. AT FIRST IT WAS ONLY EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE. THE WHEEL SENSORS APPEAR TO BE FINE. NOW I NOTICE IT IS DOING IT A LOT MORE AND STARTING TO DO IT WHEN I ACCELERATE FROM A STOP AT CERTAIN TIMES. I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW, AND, FOR ITS AGE, IT DOES NOT EVEN HAVE 60,000 MILES ON IT. SUDDENLY THE STEERING BECAME VERY DIFFICULT, AND THE BRAKES SEEMED HARD TO PUSH. I FINALLY MANAGED TO GET THE CAR OFF THE ROAD AND STOPPED. I PUT IN PARK AND GOT OUT TO CHECK AND SEE IF ONE OF THE TIRES HAD BLOWN OUT, I LEFT IT RUNNING. THE TIRES WERE FINE. I GOT BACK IN AND PUT IT IN GEAR AND EASED DOWN ON THE GAS TO SEE HOW IT WAS GOING TO GO. IT DID FINE, I DROVE IT THE REST OF THE DAY AND IT SEEMED TO BE NORMAL. I AM CONCERNED THIS COULD BE CONNECTED TO THE IGNITION RECALL BACK IN 2014 AND WORRY THAT IT MIGHT HAPPEN AGAIN. MY HUSBAND IS ATTEMPTING TO GET IT LOOKED AT BY MECHANIC.

THE DEALER INDICATED THAT AFTER REPLACING THE POWER STEERING ANGLE SENSOR MORE THAN TWICE, THE BODY CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I WAS PUTTING FLUID IN TWICE A DAY JUST SO I WOULD BE ABLE TO TURN MY STEERING WHEEL TO GET BACK AND FORTH TO WORK. I FINALLY HAD THE MONEY TO TAKE IT TO A MECHANIC AND HE SAID THAT I HAD A WHOLE IN MY POWER STEERING LINE OR COOLER. PROBABLY BOTH BUT HE SAID IT WAS SPRAYING EVERY WHERE. I HAVEN'T EVEN HAD THIS CAR FOR A YEAR YET AND I BOUGHT IT FROM A REPUTABLE DEALER. EVEN THOUGH IT WAS USED THEY LOOKED IT OVER VERY WELL FOR ME BECAUSE MY MOM KNOWS THE OWNER. I CAN'T AFFORD TO HAVE THIS FIXED NOR CAN I AFFORD TO KEEP PUTTING POWER STEERING FLUID IN DAILY. THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM AND I KNOW IF NOT TAKEN CARE OF SOON IT WILL TURN INTO BIGGER PROBLEMS. *TR
I WAS GOING OVER THE VEHICLE FOR THE SEASON AND FOUND I HAD A LEAK IN THE POWER STEERING LINE. THE LINE EFFECTED WAS COVERED WITH A RIBBED PLASTIC SHEATHING LIKE WHAT IS USED FOR A WIRE HARNESSES. THE SHEATHING CAUSED ROAD SALT TO BUILD UP AND CORRODE THE LINE, CAUSING A LEAK AND LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THERE WERE TWO LINES HELD TOGETHER, SIDE BY SIDE, WITH A PLASTIC BRACKET BUT ONLY ONE OF THOSE HAD THE SHEATHING AND I CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY IT WAS THERE. I ALSO FOUND A WIRE THAT OVERHEATED AND MELTED THE INSULATION AND LEFT THE WIRE BARE. I PURCHISED THIS CAR IN APRIL OF '08 AND IT HAS BEEN FAILING SINCE I BOUGHT IT. THERE IS A VIBRATION WHILE RIDING IN THE CAR THAT MAKES YOUR BODY BOUNCE. THE DEALER STATES THEY DON'T FEEL IT, BUT I HAVE CRONIC BACK PAIN FROM IT. I HAVE HAD IT AT THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND NO FIX. I TOOK IT TO AN ALINEMENT SHOP THEY TOLD ME THAT THE STUTS WERE SET OUT FROM THE FACTORY SO THE TIRES DON'T HIT THE GROND FLAT LIKE THEY SHOULD. THE PROBLEM CAUSES MY TIRES TO SLIP OUT OF BALANCE CONSTANTLY MAKING THE VIBRATION WORSE. MY WINDSHIELD AND DASH BOTH MAKE CRAKING NOISES NOW FROM ALL THE VIBRATION IN THE CAR. IT MAKES FOR A VERY UNCOMFORTABLE RIDE. I AM ON MY 3RD SET OF TIRES AT 28.300. THE BRAKES DON'T WORK PROPERLY, THE DEALER HAS TURNED THE ROTORS TWICE FOR WARPING. NOW THEY ARE GROOVED AND THEY TELL ME THAT "IT'S NORMAL" AND I DON'T HAVE THE NORMAL STOPING POWER I SHOULD. THE POWER STERING SQUIELS, BUT THEY CAN'T HEAR IT. WHEN STOPED AT A LIGHT THE TRANY TAKES A COUPLE OF SECONDS TO REENGAGE FOR TAKE OFF. TPS REPEATED PROBLEMS NOT WORKING POPERLY. THE CARS HANDLING IS VERY POOR IN THE RAIN,SNOW,OR ICE. THE MUFFLER SYSTEM HAS A LEAK AS WELL.

I HAD NO TROUBLE WITH IT UNTIL THE INCIDENCE DESCRIBED HEREIN. ON JANUARY 10, 2010, I WAS GOING DOWN RUTHERFORD ROAD IN GREENVILLE SC TO THE LAUREL BAYE HEALTHCARE HOME IN GREENVILLE SC. I TURNED INTO THE ROAD TO LAUREL BAYE FROM RUTHERFORD ROAD. THIS IS A SHARP RIGHT TURN INTO A ROAD THAT GOES UPHILL. HALFWAY THROUGH THE TURN MY CAR'S STEERING WHEEL LOCKED COMPLETELY. I COULD NOT TURN MY WHEELS AT ALL. THE CAR WAS RUNNING FINE, AND ALL OTHER SYSTEMS IN THE CAR WORKED, BUT MY STEERING WHEEL COULD NOT BE MOVED. I PUT ON MY BRAKES, WHICH WORKED, AND DROVE TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE NARROW ROAD. I TURNED OFF THE MOTOR, AND WAITED A FEW SECONDS. THEN I TURNED MY CAR BACK ON. THE WHEELS WERE STILL LOCKED. AT THAT TIME ANOTHER CAR DROVE UP, AND THE DRIVER GOT OUT AND TRIED TO GET MY CAR WHEELS TO MOVE, WITH NO SUCCESS. IN TURN, A POLICEMAN, AND MY NEIGHBOR TRIED TO MAKE THE CAR WHEEL TURN, BUT NO SUCCESS. IN THE MEANTIME MY NEIGHBOR GOT THE CAR TO RELEASE THE WHEELS, AND I DROVE IT HOME, AND IT APPEARED TO BE OK AGAIN. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK THE CAR TO A CHEVROLET, BUICK, CADILLAC DEALER IN GREER SC. I REPORTED WHAT HAD HAPPENED, AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD EXAMINE THE CAR. THE SERVICE MAN SAID THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THE NEXT DAY I CALLED AND THREATENED TO WRITE LETTERS OF COMPLAINT. SO THEY TOOK THE CAR AGAIN, AND KEPT IT FOR 11 DAYS TESTING IT, AND STILL REPORTED THEY COULD FIND NOTHING THAT HAD CAUSED THE WHEELS TO LOCK. IN THE MEANTIME I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND MANY REPORTS OF GM CARS WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. THERE HAVE BEEN CLASS ACTION SUITS, AND SUITS WHICH HAVE BEEN SETTLED BY GM.
