The key gets stuck and I can't remove the key; I can't take the key out and then the battery drains and car is dead.

Any time I drive and make turns it makes like a clunking noise. You can actually feel it in the floor board. It's worse when you are driving down a not so smooth road. You can look at it as soon as possible. Q-How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? A-Control arm might SNAP causing you to lose control of my vehicle and crash into other drivers. Q-Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? A-Firestone has inspected my car. Q-Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? A-No my vehicle has not. Q-Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? A-No warning signs of any kind. This started within the last month or two.

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH AND DRIVING OVER A POTHOLE, THE VEHICLE LOSS MOTIVE POWER, STALLED, AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. WHILE I WAS DRIVING, THE CAR GAVE A NOTICE OF REDUCED ENGINE POWER, THEN A FEW MILES LATER, ANOTHER NOTICE CAME ON SERVICE THROTTLE DISABLING SERVICE. AND THE CAR SHUT OFF! WITH NO WARNING, AND NO WAY TO GET TO SAFETY. IF I WASN'T IN AN AREA THAT HAD A SHOULDER I COULD GET TO QUICKLY OR IF THERE WAS ANY TRAFFIC NEAR ME, I WOULD BE DEAD! THIS IS INCREDIBLY UNSAFE AND IS GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED, IF IT HASNT ALREADY! THAT HAS TO BE SOME SORT OF FLAW IN THE PROGRAMING. IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY, WHICH IS WHERE I NORMALLY AM AT THAT TIME OF DAY, I WOULD HAVE HAD NO TIME TO REACT AND GET TO A SAFE AREA BEFORE THE CAR SHUT DOWN ON ME. IT ALSO LOCKED UP THE STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKING SYSTEM SO I HAD NEXT TO NO POWER. IT WAS INCREDIBLY SCARY. I AM JUST GLAD THAT I WAS DRIVING THE CAR, INSTEAD OF MY ELDERLY MOTHER. SHE VERY WELL MAY HAVE HAD A HEART ATTACK FROM THE FEAR. IN NO WAY SHOULD A CAR JUST SHUT DOWN MID-DRIVE LIKE THAT! I CANT EVEN BEGIN TO EXPLAIN THE AMOUNT OF WAYS HOW BADLY THAT COULD GO WRONG, AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH CHEVY VEHICLES AND THE THROTTLE BODY. EVEN IF THE THROTTLE BODY IS GOING BAD, IN NO WAY SHOULD YOUR CAR BE PROGRAMED TO JUST SHUT OFF MID-DRIVE, EVER. I REALLY HOPE THAT IS A PROGRAMING FLAW AND NOT INTENTIONAL, BECAUSE IF THAT IS INTENTIONAL, YOU ARE TRULY TRYING TO KILL PEOPLE. WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE FOR CHEVY/GM TO GET THE ISSUE FIXED? HOW MANY PEOPLE GETTING KILLED IN UNNECESSARY ACCIDENTS IS IT GOING TO TAKE? I PRAY THAT MYSELF OR MY FAMILY ISN'T ONE OF THEM! PLEASE CHEVY/GM, GET THIS ISSUE FIXED ALREADY.

THE LOWER CONTROL ARMS FOR MY 2008 CHEVY IMPALA LT WERE NEVER REPLACED IN THR RECALL. THE RECALL STATES THAT IF THEY BRAKE WHILE DRIVING CAN CAUSE DAMAGE ,INJURY OR DEATH, 2ND OWNER NEVER GOT RECALL NOTICE.
2008 CHEVY IMPALA LTZ -- I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE REAR INNER TIRES WEARING DOWN TO THE CHORDS JUST LIKE ALL THE OTHER COMPLAINTS ON HERE. I KNOW IT'S NOT THE TIRE BRAND, ETC. AS I'VE HAD A REPUTABLE MECHANIC PUT ON TWO SETS OF TIRES. I FOUND ARTICLES ON A LAWSUIT AND THE FACT THAT GM WILL FIX THE POLICE CARS WITH THIS ISSUE, BUT NOT THE GENERAL PUBLIC'S. I BOUGHT THIS CAR AS A COMMUTER CAR FOR MY SONS THAT WILL BE COLLEGE STUDENTS AND I NEED IT TO LAST. I WANT A COPY OF THE TSB #08032A THAT ADDRESSES THIS ISSUE. I JUST WANT MY CAR FIXED SO THAT I DON'T KEEP BLOWING THROUGH SETS OF TIRES IT IS GETTING RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE. MY LAST SET WAS SUPPOSED TO WEAR OUT AT 60,000 AND ONLY LASTED 20,000. I AM ACTUALLY ON MY SECOND SET, SO BASICALLY $1600 INTO TIRES ALONE, NOT TO MENTION WHAT IT'S GOING TO COST ME FOR THE SPINDLE/CAMBOR/REAR TIE RODS THAT IS ASSOCIATED WITH THE TSB MENTIONED ABOVE. GM SHOULD BE PAYING FOR THIS AND IT SHOULD BE A MASSIVE RECALL. THESE CARS ARE PROLIFIC IN SOCIETY. LOL....WE BAILED THEM OUT IN 2008, AND THEY WERE CRANKING OUT LEMONS THE SAME YEAR....IRONIC!! I HAD THE ENGINE BELT CHANGED AND IT STILL DOES THIS WHEN DRIVING OVER A POOLED OR LOW SPOT IN A ROADWAY OR PARKING LOT. THIS HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING AT LOW OR HIGHER SPEEDS ON A HIGHWAY, STREET OR PARKING LOT AND/OR GRAVEL AREA WITH POOLED WATER BUT NOT IN A "FLOOD" SITUATION. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR OVER THREE MONTHS.

I WAS DRIVING IN TRAFFIC AROUND 5:30PM CST ON US 59 N AND RANKIN RD TUESDAY 11/15/16 WHEN MY VEHICLE LOST ENGINE POWER. I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE OR STEER AND THE ONLY LIGHT THAT CAME ON IN THE CAR WAS THE SERVICE TIRE MONITOR SYSTEM. I MANAGED, SOMEHOW, TO STEER THE VEHICLE TO THE LEFT SHOULDER OF THE FREEWAY AND PUT IT IN PARK. I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND WHEN I WENT START IT AGAIN, AFTER RELEASING THE KEY, IT MADE A STUTTERING TO START SOUND OVER AND OVER AGAIN EVEN THOUGH I WAS NO LONGER TOUCHING THE KEY. WHEN I TRIED TO START IT AGAIN IT TURN ON AND THEN BACK OFF AND CONTINUED TO DO THIS AT LEAST 3 MORE TIMES. I EVENTUALLY HAD IT TOWED TO MY HOME AND AFTER READING ONLINE TODAY AT FORUMS.EDMONDS.COM MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS ISSUE WITH IMPALA'S AND SUBURBAN'S FROM GM FOR AT LEAST 4 YEARS NOW, FIRST POST IS BACK IN 2012. GM NEEDS TO PUT A RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES AND FIX THE ISSUE BEFORE IT MORE FATALITIES, AS PROVEN IN THEIR EARLIER 2014-2015 RECALL. THEY JUST DID A RECALL ABOUT A YEAR AGO FOR IMPALA'S HAVING AN ISSUE WHERE THE IGNITION SWITCH WOULD THEN SWITCH INTO THE OFF POSITION WHILE DRIVING IF YOU HIT A BUMP TOO HARD AND HAD TOO MUCH WEIGHT ON YOUR KEYS. I GOT MY VEHICLE SERVICED FOR THAT RECALL ISSUE BUT IT SEEMS LIKE THEIR FIX FOR THAT WAS INCORRECT AND NOT THE ISSUE SEEING AS MY VEHICLE, AND SEVERAL OTHERS, STILL SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING AND THE IGNITION IS STILL IN THE ON (NOT OFF) POSITION, YOU LOSE ACCELERATION AND STEERING. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND WILL CAUSE MORE DEATHS, INJURIES, AND ACCIDENTS. PLEASE GET THIS TO GM AND HAVE THEM CORRECT THIS ISSUE IN ALL THEIR MODELS WITH SENSOR THROTTLE BODY'S INSTEAD OF WIRED ONES. THEY ALSO NEED TO FIX THE ISSUE OF DOOR AND A/C ACCUATORS IN THEIR MODELS, AS ITS BEEN DESCRIBED TO ME AS A COMMON ISSUE IN GM MODELS. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE ISSUE FOR ALL DRIVERS GM OR NOT. IN LESS THAN TWO MONTHS I HAD A SERVICE INVOICE FOR OVER 1300.00 THE CAR NEEDED A AIRBAG COIL REPLACEMENT (477.00) STEERING DIFFICULTIES. ALSO. THE CONVERTER NEEDED REPLACEMENT (877.00). THIS MAKES THE CAR SOUND LIKE IT NEEDS A NEW MUFFLER. I COMPLAINED TO THE MANAGER IN SERVICE AND I'M AWAITING A RESPONSE 11-13-15. HE WAS SUPPOSED TO CALL ME BACK ON FRIDAY 11-13-15 BUT DID NOT.

DEALER STATED THEY HAVE REPLACED SOME ASSEMBLIES BUT HAD NOT BEEN MADE AWARE BY CHEVROLET THIS WAS A PROBLEM NOR HAS ANY RECALL BEEN INITIATED. WITH SO FEW MILES AND A DEFECT SO POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SOME FORM OF NOTIFICATION TO VEHICLE OWNERS OF MODELS USING THIS TYPE OF ASSEMBLY SHOULD BE NOTIFIED.

FOR THIS REASON I WAS LUCKILY GOING SLOW. AS I MADE MY WAY THROUGH ONE PARTICULAR LARGE PUDDLE ON A RIGHT HAND CURVE I COULD SEE THAT I WAS GOING TO ALMOST IMMEDIATELY GET INTO THE LEFT LANE TO GO AROUND SOME PARKED CARS. AS SOON AS I WENT TO VEER LEFT THE CAR WOULDN'T BUDGE. IT FELT AS IF THE POWER STEERING HAD SHUT OFF. NO LIGHT CAME ON NO NEW SOUNDS WERE MADE, NOTHING TO INDICATE THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG. LUCKILY WITH A FEW QUICK PULLS LEFT AND RIGHT ON THE STEERING WHEEL EVERYTHING SEEMED TO BACK I'M WORKING ORDER. VERY VERY SCARY.

I WENT TO COSTCO YESTERDAY TO HAVE MY TIRES ROTATED, AFTER LOOKING AT THE REAR TIRES WE HAD TO BUY NEW ONES BECAUSE THE BACK TIRES WERE WORN DOWN TO THE METAL BACKING, THE FRONT TIRES WERE STILL GOOD. ONLY ONE HALF OF THE WARRANTY HAD BEEN USED. THE TIRES WERE MICHELIN X-RADIAL DT MICH PASSENGER S/T P225/60R16 BW MSPN 17457 TIRES WITH AN 80,000 MILE WARRANTY. WE ENDED UP BUYING FOUR NEW MICHELIN TIRES FOR AROUND $600.00. THE COSTCO GUY THOUGHT THAT SOMETHING MUST BE WRONG WITH THE CAR. AFTER I GOT HOME I CHECKED ON THE INTERNET AS TO WHAT COULD CAUSE THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE 2007 AND 2008 CHEVROLET IMPALA'S. THERE HAD BEEN A SERVICE BULLETIN #08032A SENT OUT IN 2011 TO REPLACE THE SPINDLE RODS ON ALL THE 2007 AND 2008 IMPALA'S THAT WERE SOLD AS POLICE CARS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM THAT THEY WERE HAVING WITH REAR TIRE WEAR. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THAT SERVICE BULLETIN EXTENDED ALL THE OTHER 2007 AND 2008 CHEVROLET IMPALA'S. THE PART NUMBER FOR THE SPINDLE ROD IS THE SAME ON ALL 2008 IMPALAS, POLICE OR NON POLICE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM AND PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE KILLED IF THIS PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED, YOU JUST DON'T EXPECT THE TIRES TO WEAR OUT SO FAST. WE HAD JUST FINISHED A TRIP WERE WE DROVE FREEWAY SPEEDS UP TO 75 MILES AN HOUR. AFTER SEEING OUR TIRES I DON'T KNOW HOW WE KEEP FROM HAVING A BLOW OUT ON THE BACK TIRES. I THINK THAT LOTS OF ACCIDENTS HAVE HAPPENED WITH THESE 2007 AND 2008 CHEVY IMPALAS WITH TIRES BLOWING OUT BECAUSE REAR TIRE WEAR BECAUSE THE SPINDLE BOLTS ARE ENGINEERED WRONG AND EVERY ONE THINKS ITS THE TIRES FAULT.. AFTER THE FIRST WEEK, THE POWER STEERING SEEMED TO BE FAILING, ESPECIALLY DURING RAIN. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE INCIDENT. THEY TOLD US THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG AND TO BRING IT BACK IF THE PROBLEM CONTINUED. IT DIDN'T TAKE LONG AND WE WERE BACK AT THE DEALER WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. DEALER SAID THEY CHECKED THE BELTS AND THE FLUID ALL WORKING PROPERLY. AFTER A FEW OTHER TIMES OF THE POWER STEERING FAILING TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER AND THEY TOO COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE PS. SO, AFTER SEVERAL TRIPS BACK TO DEALER WE DECIDED TO JUST DEAL WITH IT. WHICH BRINGS ME TO MY NEXT COMPLAINT ABOUT THE 2008 IMPALA, AT JUST OVER 10,000 NOTED ABNORMAL WEAR ON TIRES, AND WIRES PEEKING THROUGH ON THE INSIDE. TOOK IT IN TO DEALER AND THEY ACCUSED US OF ABUSIVE DRIVING BEHAVIOR AND NEGLECT, WHICH WAS A NEW ON TO ME. ANYWAY, THEY REFUSED TO REPLACE THE TIRES SITTING THE WARRANTY ONLY COVERS DEFECTS AND NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. SO, BY THIS TIME WE ARE STARTING TO REGRET THE PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE. WE HAD TO REPLACE ALL 4 TIRES @ 98.00 EACH. ABOUT YEAR LATER AT 28,000 MILES BEGAN TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM ONCE AGAIN. THE PROBLEM LIES IN THE CENTER CONSOLE OF AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CARS. CHEVROLET DESIGNED THE WIRING HARNESS TO DRAG ACROSS THE FLOOR WHILE MOVING THE SHIFTER LEVER FROM GEAR TO GEAR. THIS EVENTUALLY CAUSES THE WIRES TO BREAK. I LOOKED UP CODES AND FOUND THAT IT WAS TELLING ME THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL SENSOR WAS BAD. I HAVE GOOGLED THIS ISSUE AND FOUND THAT IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS, COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE CHEVY IMPALA. ALTHOUGH THAT IS THE CODE IT IS GIVING ME, OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THEIR THROTTLE BODY TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. GM SHOULD RECALL IT BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. THE TSB INDICATES THE NEED FOR REPLACING, NOT LUBRICATING, THE PART. THE TSB STATES "ENGINEERING CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE SERVICE PARTS AVAILABLE THROUGH SPO. THE SERVICE PARTS FOR THE VEHICLES LISTED IN THIS BULLETIN WILL NO LONGER REQUIRE LUBRICATION OF THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT" GM RE-ENGINEERING THE PART INDICATES TO ME AS AN OWNER THAT THEY KNOW THE ORIGINAL PRODUCT WAS DEFECTIVE, BUT ARE CHOOSING TO REPLACE A DEFECTIVE, POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PART AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE. THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED DURING HEAVY RAINFALL. MY SON WAS TURNING RIGHT ONTO A HIGHWAY, AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN. HE PROCEEDED TO DRIVE BACK ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND DROVE 70 MILES TO HIS DESTINATION, RAIN CONTINUING, WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. ON THIS SAME DAY, I DROVE HOME 70 MILES FROM THIS DESTINATION, THE RAIN CONTINUED AND I HAD DRIVEN ABOUT 30 MILES WHEN THE STEERING LOCKED FOR A FEW SECONDS AFTER I CROSSED A RAILROAD TRACK AND TURNED ONTO A RESIDENTIAL STREET. SINCE THEN, WE HAVE HAD AT LEAST ONE IF NOT MORE INCIDENTS OF THE STEERING LOCKING UP EACH TIME IT RAINS. THE STEERING EITHER LOCKS WHILE MAKING A TURN, OR AFTER THE TURN IS COMPLETED, OR AS WE ARE TURNING INTO A PARKING SPOT. TODAY, 9/14/2011, IT WAS RAINING AND MY STEERING LOCKED UP WHILE TURNING FROM A STOP SIGN, THEN AGAIN WHILE TURNING INTO A PARKING SPACE, AND AGAIN AS I WAS PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY. ON THIS DATE, HOWEVER, I NOTICED THAT THE LOW BATTERY INDICATOR CAME ON WHEN THE STEERING LOCKED. WHEN THE STEERING FIRST STARTED LOCKING UP, WE REPORTED IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT THEY SAID THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH OUR VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE 74 MILES AND WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE ALSO OCCURRED WHILE PULLING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR WHEN SHE APPLIED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AFTER YIELDING OR STOPPING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS ALWAYS TRAVELING AT A LOW SPEED AND MAKING A LEFT TURN WHENEVER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45946. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50993.

I HAVE A 2008 CHEVY IMPALA LTZ, PURCHASED ON 7-4-08 FORM A GM DEALERSHIP IN YUKON, OK. THE CAR HAD 3670 MILES ON IT WHEN PURCHASED. IT WAS DRIVEN, ACCORDING TO DEALERSHIP, BY THE AREA FINANCIAL OFFICER FOR GM. THE PROBLEM IS THAT WHENEVER YOU DRIVE THROUGH STANDING WATER OR WET SNOW, YOU CANNOT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. IT DOES NOT HAVE TO MUCH WATER, JUST A WATERHOLE WHERE RUN OFF FROM A SPRINKLER SYSTEM HAS RUN OFF THE DRIVEWAY. ONE TIME, IT WAS LEFT IN AN ENCLOSED GARAGE OVER NIGHT AND THE DRIVER THE NEXT MORNING JUST ABOUT HIT A PARKED VEHICLE BECAUSE THEY COULD TURN THE THE STERRING WHEEL. THE CAR HAS BEEN TO TWO LOCAL GM DEALERSHIPS AND THEY CANNOT FIND ANY PROBLEM. GM SAFETY HAS BEEN CONTACTED AND THEY COULD NOT GIVE AN ANSWER FOR THE PROBLEM EITHER. THE OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE FEEL THAT THIS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IF NOT FIXED. SO FAR, MOST OF THE TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED HAS BEEN IN TOWN AND AND AT LESS THAN 35 MPH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHEN DRIVING BETWEEN 35-40 MPH OR IN INCLEMENT WEATHER, IT IS DIFFICULT TO STEER THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE TECHNICIAN COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE, NOR PROVIDE A REMEDY. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS UNAVAILABLE. EARLY MORNING START /DROVE FOR APPROXIMATELY 4-8 MINUTES. TURNED INTO PARKING LOT AND WAS ATTEMPTING TO PARK (3/4 TURN) WHEN THE STEERING FROZE. STOPPED THE CAR AND THE STEERING SEEMED TO RETURN. PARKED CAR AND ROTATED WHEEL LEFT TO RIGHT AND NOTICED THAT THE WHEEL FROZE ONCE AGAIN. TURNED CAR OFF AND NO CONTINUED ISSUE ON RESTART. IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT CAR TO DEALERSHIP AND AWAITING A DECISION ON WHAT OCCURRED. DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING VEHICLE UNTIL DEALER CAN REPAIR ISSUE. *TR

I OWN A 2008 CHEVY IMPALA AND I HAVE BEEN HEARING CLICKING NOISES IN THE STEERING SHAFT. I HAVE TOOK MY CAR IN TO BE SERVICED AND THEY PUT 2 NEW FRONT TIRES ON REPLACED THE ASSIST STEERING SHAFT AND PUT A 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT ON THE CAR BECAUSE MY TIRES WERE WORN ON THE OUTER EDGE I STILL HEAR THE SAME NOISE WHEN I TURN COMING OUT OF A PARKED POSITION AND THE NEW TIRES THEY PUT ON ONE WAS DEFECTED AND I ALMOST HAD A MAJOR ACCIDENT ON INTERSTATE 38 IN CAMDEN N.J BECAUSE ONE OF THE TIRES RADIAL BELTS POPPED AND CAUSED A BLOW-OUT WHICH SENT ME AND MY HUSBAND AND 2 KIDS IN A FIGHT FOR OUR LIVES TRYING TO GET OUT OF ON- COMING TRAFFIC WE HAD TO RIDE AROUND ON A DONUT IN A 2008 FOR 12 HOURS UNTIL WE COULD FIND A USED TIRE TO COME BACK TO RICHMOND VIRGINIA 256 MILES AWAY FROM HOME. I ALSO OWNED A 2004 CHEVY IMPALA AND UPGRADED TO THE 2008 AFTER HAVING MY CAR SERVICED 5 TIMES FOR THE SAME THING AND LOW AND BEHOLD I'M EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM CLICK CLICK CLICK................................... *TR

I WAS DRIVING THROUGH A LOW AREA IN THE STREET THAT HAD A PUDDLE OF WATER TO DRIVE THROUGH. I WAS GOING TO TURN RIGHT AND THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN AND THEN ALL AT ONCE IT DID TURN. I DID NOT HAVE ANY MORE WATER TO RUN THROUGH UNTIL ABOUT A MONTH LATER IN A HARD RAIN AND IT DID IT AGAIN. THIS WAS ALSO WHEN I WANTED TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN. THIS ALL HAPPENED IN LAKELAND FL. I CONTACTED BILL HEARD CHEVROLET IN PLANT CITY FL AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT. THEY CHECKED IT OUT AND SAID THEY COULD NOT MAKE IT DO THAT BUT THEY ORDERED PARTS ( A NEW BELT) AND INSTALLED A FEW DAYS LATER. ANOTHER RAIN STORM AND IT DID THE SAME THING ONLY THIS TIME THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS ALL COME ON FOR ABOUT A 1/2 MINUTE. I REPORTED THIS TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID BRING IT BACK IN A THEY WOULD CHECK OUT AND REPLACE THE TENSIONER. I WAS DRIVING BACK TO MICHIGAN AND I WAS AT THE GEORGIA AND TENNESSEE STATE LINE IN A RAINSTORM AND IT LOCKED UP AGAIN. I CONTACTED CLIFF ANSCHUETZ IN ALPENA MI AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THEM. THEY CHECKED IT OUT, PUT WATER ON THE BELT BUT SAID THEY COULD NOT MAKE IT HAPPEN. ANOTHER SERVICE REP SAID HE WOULD TAKE A LOOK AT IT AND PUT ON A NEW BELT AND TENSIONER AND THEY DID. THE BELT ALWAYS SQUEALS WHEN YOU FIRST START UP IN THE MORNING. IT STILL DOES THAT AND I HAVE NO DOUBT THE POWER STEERING WILL LOCK UP WHEN IT RAINS. FIRST INCIDENT DATE WAS SOMETIME IN MARCH AND TO DATE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. *TR
