I have a 2014 Impala limited I started having problems within 6 months after I bought the vehicle from Bergstrom Chevrolet in Wisconsin it was involving the ABS anti-lock stability track and traction control and the braking and steering we're all feeling and locking up while I was driving it presented and problems and endangering my life and the life of any passengers in the vehicle the brakes will lock up and there was no warning before I locked up no lights came on and it would pull to the left or pull to the right depending on which ABS was locking up and it was fixed one time at the dealership then it was fixed again at the dealership later maybe about another 3 to 6 months after and went up for the same thing again and the parts were replaced now I again have had nothing but problems with the braking system. Also the valve that controls the pressure in the fuel tank malfunctioned which caused the car to run irrraticaly it would start hard,stop running at all stops rough ideling and unable to pump gas into the car without the gas pump stopping continuously making the time that it would take to fill the gas tank 3 to 4 times longer than it did that was fixed and it is malfunctioning again. I'm on my fourth time of having my car anti-lock brake system failing on my car multiple systems including the electrical system failing. The dash lights would go off on. The exterior lights going off and on. The car has been off of the streets and unable to be driven many times. I have taken my car in to the Dealership from where I purchased it from. By the third time my car warranty had expired. Then everything was still not repaired all the systems were not ever working correctly. And now the repairs were needed to be paid in full by myself. The cost to me had just begun when it should have been resolved. In excess of $6,000 was what it would cost me the third time I had the Impala in for everything and now it's gone out again and I'm having to get this repaired.
I previously owned a 2011 Buick Regal and now have a 2014 Chevy Impala. Both vehicles have had a Stabilitrack warning come up. Both vehicles experienced the same issue. The car seemed to jerk, lag in speed, cannot accelerate over 40mph. The Regal was diagnosed with an electrical/wiring issue. The Impala was diagnosed with a failed Transmission Control Module. We now have a 2016 Impala and the same issue and warning lights have appeared. That’s 3 vehicles we’ve owned from GMC with the exact same issue. This can’t be a coincidence and should be looked into. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of more consumers on forums experiencing the exact same issue. This should be recalled! Imagine the possibilities of danger this can cause when on the interstate and can’t accelerate over 40mph.
Very loud abnormal ticking sound coming from the vehicle, failed actuators. Resulting in hvac loss. Arecall issued in 2014 for stabilitrak /abs for bad grounds on 2014 Chevy Impalas. HOWEVER 2.5 and 3.6 L engines were not included, BUT NEED TO BE!!! the car will drive rough and eventually just cut off in the middle of traffic highway or residential. This is what it did on me, putting me in a very dangerous position with my 5 year old in the car. This issue is effecting thousands of the same vehicles and GM's failure to address this issue is leaving the owners of the affected vehicles driving unsafe vehicles. GM / Chevy needs to issue a recall on ALLL the 2014 Impalas. (which they will not confirm or deny). While I was driving 60mph on an interstate my car notification screen displayed "service stabilitrak"/ "engine power reduced"... then my car acceleration seemed to have died and car slowed all the way down to around 20 mph with the gas pedal diwn to the floor... a big semi truck was behind me and had to break and swerve around me while blowing his horn...I was nearly killed.
I received an alert to service the sideview sensors. Also, the sideview alert keeps flashing in the side mirrors even when there's no vehicle present.
Service side detection system came up on the display while driving on the freeway at 65MPH.
Side detection system failure. I have had 3 harness replacements on driver side. 2 harness replacements on passenger side, and a module replacement just 2 years ago. This failure causes my instrumentation to shut off, turn signals not work, and shuts off cruise control when in use. I have read outher more extreme cases like engine compartment fires or car shutting off while driving. I believe all these should be considered safety issues. I have owned this vehicle since new.

My back window exploded. The defrost system blew up while driving it's Brown burned marks in my window where the defrost runs
The brakes continue to malfunction I am unsure if a previous recall was fixed properly or not the Chasis electrical system has been fixed with electrical tape only the transmission and stability track and anti lock brake system error light with go off from time to time when it does and the more it’s driven the worse the issues get these are all recalls and the problems still persist are we confident that the recalls have been corrected
The side detection module has just failed out for the second time in under 2 years, 20k miles on my 2014 Impala LTZ. The first time it failed (less than two years ago), the side detection indicator on the mirrors started to go off randomly, and then eventually, I was unable to reliably lock/unlock my car. Eventually, it wouldn't even start/shut off (Push to start), and the entire dash was off even when running. It messed with seemingly the entire car's electrical system, and made it unsafe to drive (imagine if I would've been on the highway and the car shut down, plus I didn't have any gauges at all). As stated, this system (and side detection module specifically), has corroded and gone out again, despite this module supposedly being better sealed. I had a GM dealership replace the entire system with their kit, which was out of their specialty 80k mile warranty for this system, as they realize it is flawed but refuses to recall it. This kit was approximately $1000 installed, and I am again looking at the same price for a flawed system that GM is totally aware of and one that has safety implications and makes the vehicle undrivable.
My blind spot detectors went out, now as a result most of the electrical stuff no longer works. The car powers on and drains the battery randomly and the speedometer doesn’t work. Every light comes on from front camera, abs, and even power steering. I didn’t feel safe taking my kids to school and now I don’t feel I should pay $1,300 out of pocket.
Every year the side sensor goes bad.. This causes vehicle to loose important factors while driving. Headlight go off and on. Speed goes to 0, all codes flashing, gas and ram gone. Car also locks and unlocks randomly along with no heat or air.. This has happened twice even after fuse is pulled while waiting on yet another $1000 repair. This is so very unsafe. Car needs to be removed from roads or side sensor part coverd.
Started the car radio was black a/c compartment wasn’t lit then power steering fluid drive with care message appears
Back windshield exploded/shattered d/t short in defroster. This is the THIRD time this has happened in 5 years, first 2 times were in 2019.
Messages for “service side detection system” and “service rear vision system” appear web vehicle is turned on. Side detection system as well as backup camera are both non functional. GM knows about this issue and had a recall/ warranty repair program. however I was never notified to bring my vehicle in to have this repair done, and now I believe it is past the date that was set to have repairs covered. Will be contacting GM to have these things potentially fixed.
Module kit needs replaced due to water getting in it... had been replaced less than 5 years ago.
My vehicle is exhibiting the exact systems outlined in NHTSA bulletin PI0924B: Some customers may comment on unwanted opening of the trunk without pressing any of the release buttons while the vehicle is parked. Although the trunk is unlatched while parked, the owner may not observe the trunk open until they begin to drive the vehicle. This may also be accompanied with a “Trunk Open” message in the DIC. This condition may be caused by the trunk release button on the remote transmitter being pressed inadvertently while the transmitter is in their pocket or purse.
While driving the car electrical system will lose all power and reset. This happens often.
On July 11th 2023 I finalized the purchase of a black 2014 Chevy Impala LT at Premiere Auto Solutions LLC. The beginning of the week of July 22nd I started hearing loud noises coming from back tire area. On approximately July 24th, the engine light came on for small Evaporation leak code. Returned back to Premiere Auto and spoke with worker\dealer about situation with the car. Was told by this person after a test drive with him that the back tire noises are normal due to the braking system, and he cleared the engine code from dash panel. Within the next week, back tire noise got worse and engine light came back on along with message to service front camera\side detection system. Car diagnosed by two mechanics for replacement of back rotors\brakes and Evaporation purge valve. Attempted to contact Premiere Auto to no avail. On August 4th the vehicle suffered an electrical failure with total loss of power while driving. On August 7th the car was towed to Bob Johnson Chevrolet at 1271 W. Ridge Rd. Rochester, NY, 14615. The car is still there diagnosed with a shorted wire to the front camera module which renders the car inoperable, and is not covered by the extended warranty.
Power steering stability trak doors locking making clicking sound all this shows up on dash and the car feels like it is accelerating and then jerks slows down and a big sound putting it into gear and a code that says U0101
I have a 2014 Chevy Impala LTZ, owned it for 9 years. Just started with issues within the last 6months and it just seems to be getting worst everyday. While making a left turn, not even driving 5mph my power steering fails and the drivers side tires seem to lock up as if the car would be hydro planing. Once it happens the dashboard Alerts come on such as Stabilitrac, Traction Control, ABS, Service Break Assistance, Power Steering, and I lost control of the car in the middle of the road!! Brought the car to the shop they change the wheel bearings. We also changed the brakes in March of this year, we had a front and back realignment plus new tires within the last 6 months. The dealer we got it from is no longer in business, as I did buy it used. I called the Chevrolet 800 number for recalls but no luck finding anything. After searching year/make/model I found similar issues to other "2014 Chevy" within the last couple of years. This is a serious issue and it can become dangerous while driving with my family in the car. I can't afford another vehicle as this car is my reliable vehicle.
The right turn signal bulb keeps blowing. Break lights were stuck on. I got pulled over because the blinker wasn't working and parking light wouldn't go off. The officer was nice because I had just got the car and didn't give me a ticket, just a warning. Blinker on passenger side won't work with lights on and fuses for that side keeps blowing

My car has had a the side detection modules fail every 1 to 2 years since I've owned the car new in 2014. The dealership has repaired it for free every time now for at least 5 times. Now that the car is not under warranty they refuse to fix it for free. This is a problem with the design and engineering of the car and it is very costly to fix. The problem will continue to occur since the manufacturer refuses to find a permanent solution to the issue. It is related to the placement of the unit and it is affected by the environment and corrodes.

Multiple electric concerns...airbag light, park assist, inop camera, and losing communication with BCM(?) Found multiple communication codes for a variety of different modules. Found main source to be from the "side detection modules". Found fuse 62 blown underhood. Inspected side detection modules and found "a lot of corrosion" on both modules and connectors. Needs side detection kit. I purchased the used impala on 12/19/2020 with 63,897 miles. The first time this issue was a concern was on 07/02/2022 at Merit chevrolet (MN). Mileage was at 83144 at that time. Diagnosis ... recommend both rear side detection modules and harness? According to Special coverage adjustment #N172097060 it is known to be subject to "water intrusion"? This problem affects the whole electrical system which includes airbag function. Why does this safety concern have a limited coverage time? According to the "Special Coverage" document, there was an 80000 mile timeline? This appears to be an ongoing issue with this year, make, and model and my feeling is that a "special coverage" is denying the safety problem and putting it on the consumer?
The 2014 Chevy Impala is dangerous. When the rocker arm control valve and related parts fail or the camshaft solenoids and sensors fail the car will drive rough and eventually just cut off in the middle of traffic highway or residential. This is what it did on me, putting me in a very dangerous position. The economic loss is still devastating financially as all 2.5 and 3.6 engines arent covered by GM special warranty but they should be all covered. My VIN number was not included when it should be.
Gages are going up and down. All lights keep coming on and appears to dying while driving. Turns dignals do not work when this is happening. My car has been with dealer (2298 Crain Hwy. Waldorf, MD 20601) for two weeks. As of Jan 3, 2023. They are offering to replace the chassis however not following the notified recall. Insisting that I pay...
I was driving in a snowstorm and all of the sudden the ABS, Stabilitrak, and power steering went out. I'm frustrated that this is the 2nd electrical safety issue that I have experienced. Both of which have been reported by several drivers and still no recalls!
Car turned off while driving and lost Al power
Electrical issues, radio volume disappears for a short period of time, turn signal audible noise disappears at same time radio volume stops, power sterring assist stops working for short time, sterring issue repaired in 2016 but doing again, ac cooling stops working for short time period, off and on, seems to be some type of electrical issue with the vehicle, purchased new in 2014, only 32,000 mile on car at present, every time taken to dealer will not reproduce the problem, called GM states recall 14515 is not part of my car, i question that in that this recall is for electrical issues. can not seem to get any furthur with anyone on this issue
Due to a poor electrical ground connection to the power steering control module, the vehicle has been losing power steering assist during start up and while driving; this requires much greater effort for me to steer the vehicle even at low speeds, and is increasing the risk of a crash for me and my family.

VEHICLE : 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA VIN: [XXX] ON 04/08/2022 THE SIDE DETECTION FAILED WARNINGS APPEARED ON DASH WARNING SYSTEM. GENERAL MOTORS INITIATED THE WARRANTY REPAIR NOTICED ( [XXX] ). I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH GM ON 04/11/2022 ( [XXX] ). ON 04/14/2022, I WAS INFORMED BY GM ON THE PHONE, THAT I WAS NOT COVERED. THEIR WARRANTY ENDED O8/2021? THE VEHICLE ALSO MUST HAVE UNDER 80,000. MY VEHICLE HAS ONLY 55,638. I WAS NEVER CONTACTED BY GM OF THIS FAULT. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. I HAVE READ THAT THE FAULT ISSUE CAN CAUSE FIRE TO THE VEHICLE. ALSO OTHER ELECTRICAL ISSUES AS UNABLE TO UNLOCK THE CAR DOORS. ( WHICH I AM EXPIERENCING ). I ALSO STARTED A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB ( 17048359 ). I WILL TAKE TO MY GM DEALER ON 04/18/2022 FOR REPAIR AT MY COST. I THINK GM KNOWS OF THIS SAFETY PROBLEM AND LIABLE FOR THE COST. Bad wiring harnesses causing brakes and antilock brakes to throw codes and fail. Abs and stable track fail and also cause car to suddenly go to low engine power mode while driving down highway. Replaced nearly every brake component plus vehicle computers and abs modules. Vehicle now throwing new codes serious at random. Main pcm computer replaced twice. Abs, brake booster, abs modular, master cylinder, 4 calipers, hoses, abs module and abs valve assembly all these components replaced twice at least. Vehicle was not a flood car.

The contact stated there was a special customer program released however they had missed the expiration date by one month. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who confirmed that the side detection sensor, modules and wire harnesses needed to be replaced. The contact later found that the wiring harness associated with this system was prone to corrosion and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however the failure continued to occur intermittently. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 44, 786.

51,000 miles. System has failed three times. first two covered by Warranty. Not under warranty now. There are numerous complaints about this problem. It will now cost me up to two thousand to repair. car is at risk of fire,failure to start and other major electrical problems. Dealer wants $140 to diagnose, I am afraid to drive this car.
The electronic parking brake fails to disengage entirely from the rear brake pads causing them to become welded together. This results in extreme heat, excess brake dust, poor acceleration, and caliper / brake line (air) issues.
When I’m driving and slow down my key will turn itself off making the car itself shut off
WATER ENTER IN THROUGH TRUNK LEDGE SEALS TO THE DEGREE OF SHORTENING OUT THE HARNESS, RADIO DASH LIGHTING CAMERA BACK WINDOW. THE FLOOR OF THE TRUNK WAS SOAKED AS THOUGH WATER WAD POURED. THE WATER WAS STANDING A LOT IN THE SPARE TIRE WELL. THERE WAS ANOTHER CUSTOMER WITH THE SAME YEAR MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE THAT HAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUE DAYS PRIOR TO VISIT TO DEALERSHIP.
Fire started behind glove box area and burned electrical wires, instrument panel, airbag, front windshield, hood, water and smoke damage.
The linx radio stopped working. The onstar system stopped working awhile after the linx radio stopped working when the car started to operate off of battery reserve (or what I think is battery reserve --- the light on the dashboard changed to blue). I've had to change the batter twice in 2.5 years. I'm told the battery Duralast is a good battery and that its an electrical fuse problem and it would be difficult to find which wire is the problem. The vehicle has been inspected by three different dealers in three different states. I was also told to uninstall onstar for resolution of the electrical problem of the battery draining and needing to draw energy from another source taking up more energy than it's suppose to in the vehicle. Yes, in 2017-18, the problem was confirmed by the dealership where I purchased the car brand new in 2014, Criswell Chevrolet in Gaithersburg, MD.
We have had several problems with the blind spot sensor on our 2014 Impala LTZ. Problems would always occur when driving in rain or snow. Dealer would just say that the sensor gets wet and that we should try to dry it off. Once the sensor was dry it would work ok. Now the sensor does not work at all. Took it off and it was full of corrosion. Reading online regarding reviews I find out that this is a very common problem with GM vehicles but GM refuses to do a recall. However they did do a special offer to replace the sensor if you have less than 80,000 miles. My car has 85,000 but I have dealt with this problem for several years. I replaced the sensor myself (at a cost of $400) and now they tell me it has to be reprogrammed. That really sucks. It is too bad that GM just can't accept the fact that they have a faulty product. I am currently waiting for a call back from the dealer to see what it cost to get sensors and wiring harness replaced (GM admits that there definitely was a problem and says you have to replace both sensors and the wiring harness). How in the world can this not be a recall!!!!!!!!!!!

(1350 E Wisconsin St, Portage, WI 53901) AND DIAGNOSED AS A BLIND SPOT ALERT SYSTEM FAILURE. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,812. THE CONSUMER STATED THE REPAIRS WOULD COST $950, BUT THE CONSUMER FEEL AS THOUGH REPAIRS SHOULD BE PAID BY THE MANUFACTURER.

HAVE HAD CAR AT DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES TOTAL FOR THE SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM MESSAGE/BLIND SPOT INDICATOR LIGHTS. FIRST TWO TIMES THE ISSUE WAS FIXED BECAUSE I HAVE THE MPP COVERAGE PLAN. THIS TIME MPP WOULD HAVE COVERED IT BUT MECHANIC SHOWS WATER INTRUSION. THEIR WAS A RECALL AT ONE TIME FOR VEHICLES UP TO 80,000 MILES. MINE HAS 124,000 SO NOT COVERED BUT WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR THE SAME THING PRIOR DID NOT HAVE 80,000 MILES. SO EITHER PAY THE $900 OR PAY THE DIAGNOSTIC CHARGE OF $155 AND WALK AWAY WITH ISSUE NOT FIXED . SO MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS AND GM HAS DONE NOTHING. IF I HAVE FIXED THE MODULE IS OVER $200 FOR THE ONE SIDE. IT KEEPS GOING OUT. GM SHOULD FIX THIS AND CREATE ANOTHER RECALL FOR THIS ALL SO COMMON ISSUE!!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MIKE ANDERSON CHEVROLET OF MERRILLVILLE (1550 E 61ST AVE, MERRILLVILLE, IN 46410) FOR A SECOND DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A CAUSE FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,000.

AFTER GETTING THE VEHICLE BACK FROM THE DEALER, THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, WHEN SHE DETECTED A BURNING ODOR AND SAW FIRE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE ISSUE STARTED OUT AS A WARNING FROM THE SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM. IN THE PAST WEEK, THE ISSUE ESCALATED TO ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH COMING ON, AND THEN ALL ELECTRONICS GOING DEAD/DARK. THE TURN SIGNAL INDICATORS HAVE NO LIGHTS AND NO SOUND, THE RADIO SYSTEM IS DEAD, THE SPEEDOMETER AND GAS GAUGE ARE DEAD. AFTER SITTING A FEW HOURS, IT SEEMED THAT THINGS "RESET" TO JUST THE SIDE DETECTION WARNING. MOST RECENTLY, ALL THE ELECTRONICS ARE ACTING STRANGE. PUSHING THE BUTTON ON THE DOOR HANDLE TO UNLOCK IT, DOES NOTHING TO THE DOOR LOCK, HOWEVER, THE DISPLAY SCREEN SHOWS "TIRE LEARNING ACTIVE". WHEN ATTEMPTING THE START THE CAR BY PUSHING THE START BUTTON, NOTHING HAPPENS. IF I PUT THE FOB IN THE SLOT INSIDE THE ARMREST, IT WILL EVENTUALLY START, BUT AGAIN ALL DISPLAY FUNCTIONS ARE DEAD AS IS THE ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROLS (NO BLOWER - NO DEFROST- NO GOOD ON A COLD RAINY DAY). AGAIN THE SIGNAL INDICATORS ARE DARK AND SILENT. THE INDICATOR LIGHT FOR THE AIRBAGS IS NOW ILLUMINATED AS WELL. GM HAD A SHORT LIVED (AND SEEMINGLY SECRET) EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM HAVE THIS EXACT ISSUE WHEN WATER GOT INTO THE SENSORS, BUT THAT EXPIRED NEARLY A YEAR AGO. AS THIS ISSUE MAKES THE CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE, IT SEEMS THAT IT SHOULD BE A FULL RECALL TO ADDRESS THIS SAFETY CONCERN.

I HAD NOTICED THE EPB LIGHT COMING ON INTERMITTENTLY, FAR MORE OFTEN THAN EVERY 50 KEY CYCLES, AND BEGAN EXPERIENCING A SIGNIFICANT DECREASE IN ACCELERATION, POOR BRAKING, BRAKE DUST BUILDUP, UNEVEN TIRE WEAR, BOGGING DOWN WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD SHIFT AND WHEN ACCELERATING OUT OF A SLOWDOWN AND/OR TURN. I WOULD ALSO CONSTANTLY SMELL BRAKE DUST AND TIRE RUBBER AND FELT MY BRAKES WOULD BECOME EXTREMELY HOT TO THE TOUCH AFTER SHORT TRIPS. I OBSERVED THE OUTER REAR BRAKE PADS THROUGH THE CALIPER AND THERE SEEMED TO BE DECENT PAD LEFT. HOWEVER I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP MANY TIMES AND WAS TOLD EVERY TIME THAT THERE WAS NO NEED TO REPLACE THE PADS. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF ANY SOFTWARE FLASHES TO CORRECT ANY KNOWN OR UNKNOWN ISSUES, AND WAS ONCE TOLD THAT MY BRAKES NEEDED TO BE BLED AND AFTER HAVING THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE THEM WAS TOLD THE ISSUE SHOULD BE CORRECTED. I HAD FRIENDS AND FAMILY WITH AUTOMOTIVE BACKGROUNDS LOOK AT MY BRAKES AND TELL ME THERE SEEMED TO BE NO VISIBLE ISSUES. I FINALLY DECIDED TO HAVE A LOOK MYSELF ONE DAY. AFTER HOISTING THE VEHICLE UP, REMOVING THE REAR TIRE AND INSPECTING THE CALIPER AND PADS, I REALIZED THAT THE EPB HAD ACTUALLY HEAT/RUST-WELDED ITSELF TO THE INNER BRAKE PAD WHICH WAS COMPLETELY WORN WITH NO PAD WHATSOEVER. THE EPB WAS ACTUALLY UNABLE TO RETRACT, EVEN THOUGH THE LIGHT WAS OFF, BECAUSE THE METAL PLATE ON THE BACK OF THE PAD HAD BEEN FUSED TO THE EPB. I HAD TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER WHO REFUSED TO LOOK AT IT AGAIN, AND WAS INEVITABLY TASKED WITH CORRECTING THE ISSUE MYSELF. I HAVE SPENT HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS ON NEW PADS, ROTORS, CALIPER PINS, GREASE, TIRES, ETC. BECAUSE OF THE PERSISTING ISSUE. WHEN I SEARCHED MY VEHICLE BY VIN IT TOLD ME THERE WERE NO RECALLS, BUT AFTER SEARCHING BY YEAR/MAKE/MODEL I FINALLY FOUND THE RECALL INVOLVING THE EPB CAUSING DRAG AFTER FAILING TO RETRACT. WELL AMAZINGLY THEY REIMBURSED ME FOR THE FIRST REPAIR, WHICH WAS GREAT! EXCEPT NOW, THE SAME EXACT THING HAS HAPPENED AGAIN AND I AM NOW PAST THE 6 YEAR 80,000 MILE MARK. EVERYTHING WAS GOING GREAT,NO PROBLEMS, AND I LOVE IT.I RECEIVED A SPECIAL COVERAGE LETTER IN MAY OF 2019 THAT INFORMED ME OF A POTENTIAL SIDE BLIND ZONE ALERT PROBLEM PREVENTING IT FROM WORKING PROPERLY AND TO BRING IT IN ONLY IF IT MET THE SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES THAT CAME WITH IT INCLUDING BEING WITHIN 6 YEARS OF ORIGINAL SERVICE OR 80,000 MILES. AT THE TIME, THERE WAS NO SIGN OF PROBLEMS, SO I JUST SET THE NOTICE ASIDE AND DID WHAT THE THE NOTICE TOLD ME,UNTIL FEBRUARY 2020. IT WAS WET OUTSIDE ONE DAY AND I NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE BLIND ZONE ALERT LOCATED ON THE MIRROR ALWAYS STAYED ON, EVEN THOUGH THE CAR WAS OFF. IT ALWAYS STAYS ON AND I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT IT SO I STARTED DOING RESEARCH AND LEARNED IT IS A VERY COMMON EXPENSIVE PROBLEM AND MANY PEOPLE ARE UPSET THIS IS HAPPENING TO THEM, INCLUDING ME.I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR MY APPOINTMENT, UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT IT WAS COVERED, ONLY TO GET THERE AND TELL ME THAT IT HAS EXPIRED AND THAT IT WOULD BE $90 TO DIAGNOSE THE OBVIOUS ISSUE. I THINK THAT CHEVROLET NEEDS TO EXTEND THE SPECIAL PROGRAM OR DO SOMETHING TO HELP CUSTOMERS THAT PURCHASED THE CAR AFTER THE EXPIRATION DATE, ESPECIALLY CUSTOMERS LIKE ME THAT PURCHASED THE CAR AFTER THE 80,000 MILES.. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. I LOVE THE CAR BUT THIS LIGHT CONSTANTLY BEING ON IS A NUISANCE AND SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING ON A NEWER CAR, AND IT IS ALSO A SAFETY CONCERN.

THEY FOUND OUT THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS SHORTING OUT DUE TO THE BAD SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM SENSOR. I HAD TO PAY ALMOST $750 TO REPLACE THE BAD SENSOR. THE WORST PART IS NOW ABOUT 18,000 MILES LATER, I'M GETTING THE SAME SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM ERROR. IT MUST BE A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW IF THE REPLACEMENT PART IS LASTING LESS THAN 20,000 MILES AND LESS THAN YEAR. NOW, I HAVE TO BALANCE WASTING ANOTHER $750 VERSUS MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHORTING OUT DUE TO THE FAILING SENSOR - HOPEFULLY, THIS SHORTING OUT DOESN'T OCCUR DURING HEAVY TRAFFIC AND CAUSE AN ISSUE. I TRIED NUMEROUS TIMES TO TURN IT ON AFTER THE 8TH TIME I GAVE UP BECAUSE I GOT THE SMELL OF GAS, MY CAR HAD 3/4 OF GAS SO I NEW THAT WAS NOT THE ISSUE. OTHER TIMES JUST THE RADIO AND THE DISPLAY WILL GO OFF - SOMETIMES FOR DAYS & SOMETIMES JUST A FEW MINUTES, BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS FINE. OTHER TIMES THE SPEEDOMETER WILL COMPLETELY STOP WORKING AND THE GAS GAGE REGISTERS NOTHING. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE INTERSTATE ON LONG DRIVES SO THAT I CAN'T TELL HOW FAST I AM GOING OR WHETHER I HAVE ENOUGH GAS. IT WILL THEN START BACK UP, BUT MAY BE DAYS LATER. I TOOK IT IN TO BE FIXED. THEY TOOK THE COMPUTER OUT FROM UNDER THE REAR WHEEL WELL AND SHOWED ME THAT IT WAS COMPLETELY CORRODED. I DROVE THE CAR WITHOUT A COMPUTER FOR 8 MONTHS BUT BECAUSE OF THE SAME PROBLEMS CONTINUING, I TOOK IT BACK IN AND THEY SAID I NEEDED A NEW COMPUTER. THE CAR HAD TOO MANY MILES FOR THIS TO BE COVERED SO I PAID OVER $1500 FOR THIS TO BE FIXED. NOW IT IS 3 WEEKS AFTER GETTING THE NEW COMPUTER INSTALLED. ALL OF THE PROBLEMS HAVE CONTINUED. AND AGAIN TODAY, I WAS STRANDED WHEN I WENT OUT AFTER WORK AND FOUND IT DEAD AGAIN. IT IS BACK IN THE DEALER AGAIN.

MINIMALLY, THE PROBLEM CAN BE RESOLVED BY REPLACING THE SENSORS AND/OR HARNESSES FOR BRAND NEW ONES. THE MODULES AND HARNESS ARE MOUNTED UNDER THE REAR BUMPER COVER BEHIND THE WHEELS WHERE MOISTURE DIRT AND ROAD SALT ENTER CAUSING CORROSION AND POSSIBLE FIRE. THE PASSENGER SIDE NOTIFICATION LIGHT STAYED ON FOR TWO DAYS STRAIGHT EVEN WHEN THE CAR WAS OFF. IT IS NOT FUSED IN THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE ONLY UNDER THE HOOD. THESE SAFETY COMPONENTS SHOULD BE MOUNTED IN THE TRUNK PER INDUSTRY STANDARD OR SEALED WITH PROPER WEATHER RESISTANT GASKETS AT THE VERY LEAST. THE HARNESS WAS CORRODED SO BADLY IT WAS JUMPING THE CONNECTION AND BLOWING FUSES. THE MODULES WERE VISIBLY SWOLLEN FROM HAVING MOISTURE INSIDE AND RUST FORMING. I CONTACTED GM AND THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR. THERE SHOULD BE A FULL RECALL IF NOT A SPECIAL COVERAGE ON THIS SAFETY ISSUE, IT IS VERY SERIOUS AND VERY COSTLY. MY GARAGE/HOUSE COULD HAVE BURNED DOWN OR I COULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN A VEHICLE FIRE OR ACCIDENT DUE TO LOSS OF SAFETY FEATURE.

I HAD SEVERAL SERVICE SYSTEM ERRORS` `FOR `SIDE BLIND SPOT, FRONT CAMERA, TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR ETC BUT MOST CONCERNING IS THAT THE DIRECTIONAL WOULD NOT FUNCTION, THE GAS, SPEEDOMETER, AND THE TACHOMETER DID NOT FUNCTION. IT WAS DUSK AND IT APPEARED THE AUTOMATIC LIGHTING CONTROL STOPPED WORKING AS WELL. I STOPPED SAFELY AND TURNED OFF MY CAR AND TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR AND THE PUSH BUTTON START WOULD NOT WORK. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR BY PUTTING THE KEY FOB IN THE FACTORY POCKET DESIGNED TO START THE CAR WITH A KEY FOB WITH A LOW BATTERY. I WAS ABLE TO GET MY CAR INTO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT THE SIDE BLIND SPOT MODULES WERE BAD. THEY DISCONNECTED THE MODULES AND MY CAR'S DASH FUNCTION RETURNED WITH JUST A WARNING TO SERVICE THE SIDE BLIND SPOT SYSTEM THE DEALERSHIP PROVIDED ME A COPY OF A GM SERVICE BULLETIN #17-NA-154 SERVICE SIDE OBJECT DETECTION MESSAGE STATING TO REPLACE BOTH MODULES AND THE WIRING HARNESS NEED TO BE REPLACED FOR $1,638.91. I HAD ALREADY REPLACED ONE MODULE 13 MONTHS EARLIER FOR $720. THIS FAILURE MODE IS UNACCEPTABLE LEAVING THE CAR IN A DANGEROUS STATE WITHOUT DIRECTIONALS, IMPORTANT GAGES LIKE SPEEDOMETER AND FUEL , AND POSSIBLY NO AUTOMATIC LIGHTING CONTROLS. THE DESIGNED FAILURE MODE SHOULD BE SOLELY A SERVICE BLIND SPOT MONITORING SYSTEM LEAVING ALL OTHER SYSTEMS OPERATIONAL. CURRENTLY I AM TOLD THAT ALL PARTS REQUIRED TO FIX MY CAR ARE UNAVAILABLE. THE MODULES ARE A POOR DESIGN FROM GM. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THESE CARS. CURRENTLY, GM HASN'T BEEN HELD RESPONSIBLE TO FIX THE DESIGN OF THESE MODULES. MY CAR WAS PARKED AND WHEN I TRIED TO START IT, IT WOULDN'T START. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO START IT. AS I DROVE IT TO THE SHOP, I DIDN'T HAVE ANY SPEED ODOMETER, TURNING SIGNALS OR LIGHTS. THEY RESPONDED TELLING ME THAT, UNFORTUNATELY, THE DESIGN FOR THIS SENSOR MODULE/HARNESS IS COMPLETELY FLAWED. THE SENSORS ARE LOCATED IN THE REAR BUMPER, WITH PLASTIC HOUSING. THERE IS NO WEATHER PROTECTION, EVEN THOUGH THESE ARE DIRECTLY BEHIND THE TIRES AND ARE EXPOSED TO ALL WEATHER - PLUS I LIVE IN IL SO WE'RE TALKING RAIN, SNOW, SALT, ETC. IT'S TWO SENSORS AND THE HARNESS. I COULDN'T AFFORD THE $1200 REPAIR, SO I FIGURED I WOULD JUST HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE LOSS OF THE SAFETY FEATURE AND IGNORE THE WARNING LIGHT. LAST WEEK, ALL OF MY WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON - THEFT DETECTION, FRONT CAMERA, AIRBAG, STABILITRACK, ETC. MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS, TURN SIGNALS, LOCKS AND HEADLIGHTS WERE ALL GOING HAYWIRE, AND AT ONE POINT WHILE DRIVING ALL OF MY GAUGES WENT TO ZERO (NO SPEED LIMIT, RPM, GAS GAUGE, ANYTHING) AND MY HEAT WENT OUT, TURN SIGNALS STOPPED WORKING AND MY HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT. IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP HOPING THAT MAYBE MY BATTERY (FACTORY ORIGINAL)/WIRING MIGHT BE THE CAUSE. NO SUCH LUCK. AS IT TURNS OUT THE SIDE DETECTION MODULES ARE NOW CORRUPTING ALL SENSORS AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS INCLUDING MY AIR BAGS! THE DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED THAT THE SIDE DETECTION MODULES HAD FAILED AND WERE CAUSING THE CHAOS THAT IS OCCURRING WITH ALL OF MY OTHER WARNING SYSTEMS, AND THAT MY AIR BAGS NO LONGER WORKED. UPON LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP, THE BRAKES WERE GRINDING AND ALL THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON. TOOK BACK TO SERVICE AND IT'S TAKEN 3 DAYS FOR THEM TO TRY AND FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG. THEY'VE NOW DECIDED IT NEEDS A NEW STEERING GEAR. I'VE RESEARCHED OTHER 2014 IMPALAS HAVING A RECALL ON STEERING GEARS BUT THIS VEHICLE IS NOT LISTED? HOW IS THAT? I FEEL IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND FIXED SINCE THERE'S BEEN PREVIOUS RECALLS REGARDING THE WHOLE ELECTRICAL STEERING SYSTEM, STEERING MODULES, AND STEERING GEARS. WHEN DRIVING ON THE STREET MORE INDICATOR WARNINGS CAME ON: AIRBAG, TRACTION CONTROL, PARKING BRAKE, ETC.; THE A/C CAME ON BY ITSELF; THE HEADLIGHTS, HEATER, AND TURN SIGNALS STOPPED WORKING. STOPPED THE CAR AND SHUT IT OFF FOR ABOUT AN HOUR. AFTER STARTING IT WITH THE KEY AND RUNNING IT FOR ABOUT 3 MINUTES, IT SHUT ITSELF OFF. ONCE STARTED AGAIN, WOULD ONLY MOVE ABOUT A FOOT AND THEN STOPPED SHARPLY, LIKE THE BRAKES HAD BEEN SLAMMED ON. DID THIS SEVERAL TIMES. PARKED IT AGAIN AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. THEY STILL SAY IT'S THE SENSOR PROBLEM AND WILL BE $1200 TO FIX. THEY DID NOT INVESTIGATE THE ISSUE FURTHER ALTHOUGH IT IS CLEARLY A SAFETY PROBLEM.

THE ALERTS THEN SAID "POWER STEERING DRIVE WITH CARE' & "FRONT CAMERA' OR SOMETHING TO THAT EFFECT. THIS HAS HAPPENED VARIOUS TIMES SINCE ON CITY STREETS, ANOTHER MESSAGE I'VE SEEN HAS SAID SOMETHING ABOUT STABILITRAK. THE MOST RECENT EPISODE OCCURED ON 12/25/2017. I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND TURNED RIGHT AND THE STEERING WHEEL JAMMED AND THE RADIO WENT OUT AND THE SAME MESSAGES CAME UP, I TOOK A VIDEO THIS TIME SO THAT THE DEALERSHIP CAN SEE WHAT THE ISSUE IS. I FOUND THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON OTHER 2014 CHEVY IMPALAS FOR SIMILAR ISSUES WITH POWER STEERING BUT WHEN SEARCHING UNDER MY VIN NUMBER THERE IS NO RECALL ON MY CAR BUT I FEEL AS THOUGH THIS IS A MISTAKE AND MY CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED FOR THIS ISSUE. THAT INCIDENT CAUSED THE CAR TO SLAM ON IT'S BREAKS DUE AN ELECTRICAL ERROR. THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES. CHEVROLET HAS REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING BUT THE BARE MINIMUM TO GET THE CAR BACK ON THE ROAD OBVIOUSLY NOT FIXING THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM, AS THIS IS ONCE AGAIN AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. ON ABOUT 1/2 DOZEN OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE'S EARLY DETECTION SYSTEM HAS ENGAGED WITHOUT ANY VEHICLES IN FRONT. THESE OCCURRENCES SEEM TO BE ON DAYS WHEN IT IS RAINING AND THEIR ARE REFLECTIONS OFF THE ROAD, OR VERY SUNNY DAYS (AGAIN CAUSING REFLECTIONS). I STARTED NOTICING A VERY BAD ODOR OF MOLD AND MILDEW COMING FROM THE A/C VENTS. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALER I PURCHASED IN EARLY 2014. A COUPLE MONTHS LATER I CHECKED THE TRUNK AND THE CARPET WAS ALL WET, WHEN I CHECKED THE SPARE TIRE COMPARTMENT IT WAS 2 INCHES OF WATER. I STARTED CHECKING EVERYWHERE AND FOUND THE CARPET IN THE FRONT DRIVER SEAT VERY WET. I TOOK THE CAR IN AGAIN THIS TIME I KNEW IT WAS GOING TO BE A BIG PROBLEM TO FIX, THE CAR WAS NOW SMELLING SO BAD WITH MILDEW AND MOLD EVEN THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN COULD HARDLY STAND TO SIT IN IT AT ALL. THEY HAVE TRIED TO CHANGE THE UNDERLAY, AND IT STILL SMELLS BAD. THE DEALER SAYS THEY HAD A GM SERVICE SPECIALIST COME TO THE DEALER TO LOOK AT IT. THEY HAVE NO SOLUTION TO FIX THE WATER LEAKING OR TO GET THE MOLD OUT OF THE CAR. IT HAS NOW BEEN 6 WEEKS AND I DO NOT HAVE MY CAR!! TO MY SURPRISE THE VEHICLE STARTED BY ITS SELF AND ACCELERATED AWAY FROM ME, THE DOOR FRAME ALMOST KNOCKING ME DOWN, YET LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO CATCH THE CAR AND GET BACK TO THE BRAKE BEFORE THE CAR CRASHED. I CAME TO FIND OUT THAT THIS WAS AN ECONOMIC FEATURE ON THAT VEHICLE. I FEEL GREAT CONCERN THAT THIS CAR STARTED WHEN MY SEAT BELT HAD BEEN REMOVED AND DOOR OPENED, WOULD THEY HAVE AT LEAST CONSIDERED SOME SORT OF PRECAUTION FROM THIS OCCURRING. ALMOST WANTED TO THROW UP. AFTER LOOKING ALL OVER THE CAR FOUND 2" OF WATER WERE THE SPARE TIRE IS AND ALL OF THE CARPET WET IN THE TRUNK. TOOK IT TO AUTONATION CHEVROLET SUPERSTITION SPRINGS IN MESA, AZ. THEY HAD IT FOR 2 WEEKS AND THEY DETERMINED I DID NOT HAVE THE TRUNK CLOSED ALL THE WAY. THIS TRUNK WILL NOT STAY DOWN. WHAT I MEAN IS THE SPRING IS SO GOOD IT'S ETHER CLOSED ALL THE WAY OR OPEN ALL THE WAY. AFTER THAT AND SOME RESEARCH I FOUND GM HAS PUT OUT A #PI1133 TRUNK WATER LEAK. THE SEAL AROUND THE REAR TAIL LIGHT LEAKS WATER INTO THE TRUNK. SO I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND HAD TO TELL THEM IT WAS NOT ME LEAVING THE TRUNK OPENED. *TR
