Additionally, the message "Power Steering Failure" was displayed. Very loud abnormal ticking sound coming from the vehicle, failed actuators. Resulting in hvac loss. Arecall issued in 2014 for stabilitrak /abs for bad grounds on 2014 Chevy Impalas. HOWEVER 2.5 and 3.6 L engines were not included, BUT NEED TO BE!!! the car will drive rough and eventually just cut off in the middle of traffic highway or residential. This is what it did on me, putting me in a very dangerous position with my 5 year old in the car. This issue is effecting thousands of the same vehicles and GM's failure to address this issue is leaving the owners of the affected vehicles driving unsafe vehicles. GM / Chevy needs to issue a recall on ALLL the 2014 Impalas. (which they will not confirm or deny). While I was driving 60mph on an interstate my car notification screen displayed "service stabilitrak"/ "engine power reduced"... then my car acceleration seemed to have died and car slowed all the way down to around 20 mph with the gas pedal diwn to the floor... a big semi truck was behind me and had to break and swerve around me while blowing his horn...I was nearly killed.

I was driving to doctors appointment Friday . (03-15-2024) In another area then where I live .)And my steering tightened up a bit . I was able to turn it and park . I went in for my doctor appointment and came back out and steering wheel completely locked! I had to get It towed to my mother's home in the same area . So now I'm stranded . I had a mobile mechanic come look at it and he hooked it up to the machine and it said the ground wire needs fixed . It could have been a bad situation if I had got on the interstate. I see there was a recall on it. But I've been told that got fixed on impalas a few years ago . I've had my car 2 years . So never knew about a recall .

I have a 2014 Chevy Impala LTZ, owned it for 9 years. Just started with issues within the last 6months and it just seems to be getting worst everyday. While making a left turn, not even driving 5mph my power steering fails and the drivers side tires seem to lock up as if the car would be hydro planing. Once it happens the dashboard Alerts come on such as Stabilitrac, Traction Control, ABS, Service Break Assistance, Power Steering, and I lost control of the car in the middle of the road!! Brought the car to the shop they change the wheel bearings. We also changed the brakes in March of this year, we had a front and back realignment plus new tires within the last 6 months. The dealer we got it from is no longer in business, as I did buy it used. I called the Chevrolet 800 number for recalls but no luck finding anything. After searching year/make/model I found similar issues to other "2014 Chevy" within the last couple of years. This is a serious issue and it can become dangerous while driving with my family in the car. I can't afford another vehicle as this car is my reliable vehicle.

When getting of the exit from the high way my steering wheel locked up. We were going about 40-50 getting into a slow speed from the highway. I struggled with turning the wheel just to get off of the ramp. And then a sign came up saying service power steering drive with care. It’s showing that my vehicle doesn’t have a recall for this. But this is absolutely not safe at all. I had my 2 infants and 7 year old in the vehicle.

Electrical issues, radio volume disappears for a short period of time, turn signal audible noise disappears at same time radio volume stops, power sterring assist stops working for short time, sterring issue repaired in 2016 but doing again, ac cooling stops working for short time period, off and on, seems to be some type of electrical issue with the vehicle, purchased new in 2014, only 32,000 mile on car at present, every time taken to dealer will not reproduce the problem, called GM states recall 14515 is not part of my car, i question that in that this recall is for electrical issues. can not seem to get any furthur with anyone on this issue

side detection module has falled... yes it is available for inspection... my wife got locked in the car on a 80 plus degree day and could not get out,doors would not open,trunk release would not open trunk so she could crawl there the back seat,sunroof would not open,power steering periodically feels like there is no power stearing, dash lights periodically shut off when driving.. Yes, morries forest lake chevrolet and cadilac.forest lake. mn... no it has not been inspected by anyone but the dealer...There were no warning lights untill 51,000 miles or 8 months ago

While driving 45 mph, my car jerked and several lights came on in my dashboard including the light with the little wrench 🔧. In my dashboard, it displayed the message to check stabili track and steering power system and to drive with care. My car then started loosing power to accelerate. I had my vehicle towed to the dealership the next day and they stated that they cleared the codes but didn’t tell me what the codes were and they kept my vehicle for 5 days and said they couldn’t get the vehicle to act up. Now this issue has happened again and a message in my dashboard is saying to check the power steering and drive with care. I had no warning signs prior to this issue.

I was about 5 minutes from home when all of a sudden warning lights started flashing on the dash board ( photos provided) The vehicle became hard to steer and control. Thankfully it was pretty much a straight highway until I had to make a left and 2 right turn to get to my house. It was as I had to fight with the steering wheel. Thank God! I was so close to home!! I don't even want to think what could have happened if I was on the interstate or a highway with lots of curves. I parked the car in the garage and it haven't been moved since. I called GM repair shops but they want to charge an arm and a leg just to tow it to the repair shop and another charge just to look at it. I called the vehicle hotline and they couldn't help me because there is no recall on my vehicle. My car has been parked in my garage for over 6 months now because I can't drive it.

I understand a recall came out for this model year for this type of issue but I didn't get one. I am the original owner.

THE CAR SHUDDERED ON INITIAL START-UP, TURNED IT OFF WAITED FOR A MINUTE. RESTARTED RAN NORMALLY. THE NEXT DAY ON START-UP DIC ALERTED TO ABS, POWERSTEERING, AND STABILITACK IN NEED OF SERVICE, NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE IN STEERING CONTROL, WHEEL SLIPPAGE ON QUICK EXHILARATION, I TRIED TO BRAKE MORE CAUTIOUSLY SO AS NOT TO TEST MY BRAKING ABILITY. DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE. SHOULD BE RECALLED. HAD THE SAME PROBLEM A YEAR AGO SPENDING $495. TO HAVE THE OPPOSITE WHEEL HUB AND BRG ASSEMBLY. HOPE THIS ISN'T AN ANNUAL EVENT. LOVE MY CAR BUT HATE EXPENSES THAT SHOULD NOT OCCUR WITH A CAR; ESPECIALLY UNDER 100,000 MILES. WHY DID THIS HAPPEN? THERE IS NOTHING TO BLAME IT ON SUCH AS HITTING A POTHOLE. BUT AS I AM RIDING DOWN THE HIGHWAY I WAS GOING ABOUT 65 AND MY CAR SHUT AND CAME BACK ON. I LOST CONTROL OF MY STEERING WHEEL, THEN THE CAR STARTED DRIVING NORMAL. ONCE I ARRIVED TO MY JOB AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. MY VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND THE IGNITION LIGHTS ALONG WITH THE SIDE PANEL LIGHTS WAS BLANKING BUT NOTHING ELSE WAS ON. I COULDN'T PUT MY WINDOWS UP AND THE CAR WOULDN'T CUT ON SO I LEFT IT FOR A FEW MINUTES AND WALKED BACK OUTSIDE AFTER 5 MINUTES BECAUSE I NOTICED ALL OF MY OUTSIDE LIGHTS WHERE ON, AND AT THIS TIME. SO, I DID THAT BUT THE NEXT DAY MY NAVIGATION SYSTEM WAS OFF ALONG WITH MY RADIO AND ON-STAR SYSTEM. SO I DROVE TO THE GAS STATION BEFORE HEADING TO WORK, AND WHEN I TRIED TO GET IN MY CAR THE POWER WAS OFF. I WENT UNDER-HOOD TO SEE IF THE BATTERY WAS LOOSE BUT IT WASN'T. SO I SHUT THE HOOD GOT BACK IN THE CAR AND EVERYTHING INCLUDING MY RADIO, GPS, AND ON-STAR CAME BACK ON. I HEADED OUT TO WORK AND THAT IS WHEN MY CAR SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 70 MPH AND THE ERROR MESSAGE SAID WARNING NO POWER STEERING. I GOT TO WORK SAFELY AND REALIZED I LEFT SOMETHING IN MY CAR AND THAT IS WHEN MY CAR SHOW SIGNS THAT IT WAS DEAD, BUT AFTER MANUALLY GETTING INTO MY CAR THE POWER CAME BACK ON. I ALSO HAVE ISSUES WITH WATER GETTING INTO MY TRUNK WHICH IS WHAT THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME WAS POSSIBLY CAUSING THE ISSUES. I WAS LOOKING THROUGH THE RECALLS ON THIS MODEL IN JANUARY 2020 AND IT SHOWED THERE WAS A RECALL JULY 23,2014. ANTELOPE VALLEY CHEVROLET CHARGED US $300.00 TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE BUT THE RECALL SHOWED IT SHOULD OF BEEN FREE. ANTELOPE VALLEY CHEVROLET SAID THEY CHECKED THE RECALL AT 1036 MILES SO NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS HAPPENING AT 20106 MILES. DID THEY CHECK THE RECALL AT 1036 MILES? IF THEY HAD CLEANED THE PAINT FROM THE GROUND STUD NUT WHY WOULD IT HAPPEN AT 20,106 MILES. IS IT GOING TO KEEP HAPPENING EVERY 20,000 MILES BECAUSE IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS THING AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT VERY EASILY. WHAT I THINK I SHOULD GET IS MY $300 BACK FROM ANTELOPE VALLEY CHEVROLET BECAUSE THEY PROBABLY DIDN'T DO THE JOB THE FIRST TIME. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS REPORTS OF OTHER PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE AS WELL. CHEVY SEEMS TO HAVE ARE RECALL OPEN FOR POWER STEERING, BUT MY VIN SUPPOSEDLY IS NOT IMPACTED DESPITE ME HAVING A POWER STEERING FAILURE. MANY, MANY ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THIS CAR HAVE BEEN REPORTED, AND YET CHEVY DOES NOTHING TO CORRECT THIS CLEAR SAFETY CONCERN. THANKFULLY THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM ONLY PARTIALLY REDUCED ITSELF, AND DIDN'T COMPLETELY FAIL OR ELSE WHO KNOWS WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED. VERY DANGEROUS AND DISAPPOINTING THAT NOTHING IS BEING DONE TO PROTECT PEOPLE.

WHEN I FINALLY MANAGED TO DRIVE IN A GAS STATION, PARKED FOR A WHILE, THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY. AFTER LESS THAN A MONTH, THE SAME PROBLEM OCCUR WHEN I HAD GONE TO MY DAUGHTER'S DAYCARE TO PICK HER UP. I PARKED THE VEHICLE IN THE PARKING LOT, WENT IN THE CLASS TO PICK UP MY DAUGHTER AND WHEN I RETURNED TO THE VEHICLE MY POWER STEERING ASSIST WAS GONE. I'VE HAD AN ISSUE WITH MY 2014 CHEVY IMPALA LTZ GETTING LOCKED UP WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS STARTED A FEW MONTHS AGO, I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM. THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURED 09/2017, I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 60 MPH, UPON SWITCHING LANES IT FELT LIKE THE STEERING WHEEL JAMMED AND LOCKED FOR A SECOND AND THE ELECTRICAL POWER WENT OUT ON THE RADIO AND DASH. THE ALERTS THEN SAID "POWER STEERING DRIVE WITH CARE' & "FRONT CAMERA' OR SOMETHING TO THAT EFFECT. THIS HAS HAPPENED VARIOUS TIMES SINCE ON CITY STREETS, ANOTHER MESSAGE I'VE SEEN HAS SAID SOMETHING ABOUT STABILITRAK. THE MOST RECENT EPISODE OCCURED ON 12/25/2017. I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND TURNED RIGHT AND THE STEERING WHEEL JAMMED AND THE RADIO WENT OUT AND THE SAME MESSAGES CAME UP, I TOOK A VIDEO THIS TIME SO THAT THE DEALERSHIP CAN SEE WHAT THE ISSUE IS. I FOUND THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON OTHER 2014 CHEVY IMPALAS FOR SIMILAR ISSUES WITH POWER STEERING BUT WHEN SEARCHING UNDER MY VIN NUMBER THERE IS NO RECALL ON MY CAR BUT I FEEL AS THOUGH THIS IS A MISTAKE AND MY CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED FOR THIS ISSUE. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE AND A BIG CONCERN TO ME AS I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN AND ALMOST CRASHED WHILE ON THE FREEWAY DUE TO THIS ISSUE. MY IMPALA 2014 WAS MAKING A LOUD NOISE FROM, THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AS IF IT WAS THE MUFFLER. THE NOISE COULD ONLY BE HEARD WHILE I WAS INSIDE THE VEHICLE. I HAD MY WIFE STAND OUTSIDE WHILE I DROVE THE VEHICLE DOWN OUR STREET AND THE LOUD NOISE COULD NOT BE HEARD OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. WE COULD HEAR THE NOISE ONCE THE VEHICLE REACHED 20 MPH. AFTER GETTING THE MUFFLER CHECKED WE FOUND OUT THE MUFFLER WAS IN GOOD CONDITION., BUT SHORTLY AFTER THE IMPALA STARTED MAKING THE LOUD NOISE WE MADE A LEFT TURN AT A SIGNAL LIGHT AND THE ABS, POWER STEERING, AND STABLITRAK SERVICE LIGHTS CAME ON THE DASHBOARD. THE POWER STEERING HAS GOTTEN INCREASINGLY WORSE SINCE THE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON.

AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS FROM 45-70MPH ON BOTH STRAIGHT, SMOOTH PAVEMENT AND ON WIDE SWEEPING CURVES, THE STEERING "FREEZES" AND REQUIRES A TURN OF THE WHEEL TO REGAIN CONTROL. THIS "FREEZING" FEELS LIKE THE STEERING IS STUCK IN A NOTCH, OR CERTAIN POSITION. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON SLIPPERY CONDITIONS AT LOWER SPEEDS (42 MPH) AND THE EFFORT TO CORRECT THE STEERING RESULTED IN AN OVER-CORRECTION ON THE SLIPPERY ROAD SURFACE CAUSING THE CAR TO SLIDE INTO THE ONCOMING LANE. AT 55 MPH ON A SLIPPERY RIGHT HAND SIDE CURVE (SPEED LIMIT IS 65 MPH) VEHICLE UNDER-STEERED AND LOST TRACTION COMPLETELY, WITHOUT TOUCHING THE BRAKES, IT STARTED TO SLOW DOWN AND SKIDDED TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE CURVE (TO THE LEFT). I TRIED TO GET IT BACK TO THE DRIVING LANE, IT STARTED TO SKID LATERALLY TO THE RIGHT AND SLOWED DOWN UNTIL IT HIT A REFLECTOR POST ON THE EDGE OF THE RIGHT LANE AND STOPPED. VEHICLE INFORMATION ON THE DASH BOARD READ "ICE DETECTED...". ALTHOUGH THE DAMAGE ON THE RIGHT DOOR WAS A VERY MINOR DENT, THE CAR DEPLOYED ALL 4 HEAD CURTAIN AIRBAGS AND 2 RIGHT SIDE AIRBAGS, ENGINE WAS SHUT DOWN AND FRONT SEAT-BELTS WERE STUCK. FEW MINUTES LATER, THE ENGINE RAN NORMALLY WITH THE "ICE DETECTED .." MESSAGE STILL ON. IT SEEMS THAT THE AIRBAGS SENSORS WERE ACTIVATED FOR NO REQUIRED REASON FOR A MINOR DENT ON THE DOOR. ALSO, THE STABILITY AND THE FAULTY BRAKING SYSTEM MIGHT BE OF A GREAT SAFETY ISSUE ON THIS VEHICLE. *TR
